Action Car And Truck Accessories - Ottawa

After getting a level kit installed here, had a rust proofing appointment booked the same week. Action must not have torqued the nuts down, and the rust proofer thankfully caught them almost falling off. The threads are now damaged from the mount bouncing up and down. The truck now pulls. Mandy has been quick to blame, and refuses any credit for my preferred alignment shop as I simply don't trust taking my 2023 truck there. Alignment sheet was printed black and white and looked photocopied from the 90s.

Not the service I'm used to receiving from this place. Called looking to buy a tonneau cover and they had one in-stock. The price they quoted was $65 higher but they said they would price match. They also confirmed that the first responders/military discount would get deducted from the new price. I called later to reserve it and then found out that the item was now on "sale" (same as the price match), which also meant they could not honor the discount. Pretty sly move!

I wanted to thank Mandy & her staff for the service they gave me with my truck cap. They went over & bee on to help me with my truck cap. They had t ship the cap for an adjustment & they loan me a try fold cover for a trip I was goin on. WOW what great customer service. Thanks Mandy!:)

Greeted at the door! Ordered items were in at time quoted. Lots of items to browse, and Shawn (Assistant Store Manager) was very helpful and knowledgeable in helping us with all our questions. Super experience, I will be back for other items!

Very knowledgeable and extremely helpful staff at Ottawa location.
Stopped in to get a quote for a 2023 Nissan Frontier camper shell and it was a pleasant and enlightening experience. Waiting for the truck delivery to get back to them for sealing the deal.

Great store, great prices. Only comment I have is that when an order is back-order, would suggest that the store follow-up with the customer. Otherwise, nice, helpful staff.

Had a bad experience here a few years back. I went in looking to buy a black powder coated exhaust tip for my truck. The lady there told me the black tip would rust within a year and I should get a chrome tip instead. My truck is all black so I didn’t want to get a chrome tip and I insisted on buying the black one. The lady practically refused to sell me the black tip so I left and bought it online instead. I can’t believe they werent willing to take my money and simply sell me what I wanted to buy. It’s been 3 years since I bought a black exhaust tip online and there isn’t a speck of rust on it yet.

Good recommendations for your needs and gota love the Flexiti card for flexible payments options.

I called this location 5 times and was trying to get pricing on a tuneau cover the phone was answered three time by a lady and twice by a guy all five times after explaining what I wanted they hung up on me. I called the Kingston location was connected to the new Brunswick location and the person was very pleasant and gave me the pricing and information I required. Needless to say I purchased the cover from a competitor in Ottawa and the service was excellent!
Don’t waste your time with this location there are a lot better places to spend your hard earned money

. It's lost a lot of its appeal. Not a lot in stock, couldn't find what I needed. Maybe it's during to covid shortages tho, unsure.

The staff was extremely helpful, they followed up at every step, very knowledgeable and the speediest special order I could have imagined. Almost like magic!

Ordering was problematic, and they were going to hold entire order for an accessory back ordered for weeks. No call, had to go in to follow up and figure out the stupidity. Still do not have part, nor an update.

Went in to check out the store and purchase something the staff was very unprofessional and unpleasant.

If you like to waste your time then go ahead with this company. I called and purchased side steps and mud flaps for my truck, paid in full over the phone and scheduled an appointment for the install. I just dropped off my truck and had an Uber pick me up to take me home only to arrive back home and receive a phone call that they ordered the wrong side steps and it will be another 21 days till the ones I need come in. Now another Uber will be needed to go pick up my truck with no service completed. Needless to say I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

I bought a lockable hitch pin from their website. On Friday, I received two emails from FedEx saying it would be delivered on Saturday and needed my signature. I also received a phone call from FedEx to confirm I will be there. After waiting all day on Saturday, they never showed up. I verified the tracking number at the end of the day and it then said it will be delivered on Monday with a status of "On time". Frustrating but whatever. On Sunday, they decide to deliver it when I'm NOT home. They leave a sticker on my door saying it will be delivered next business day. The tracking number now says it will be delivered Tuesday. I have nothing against Action Car and Truck but their whole delivery process with FedEx is beyond ridiculous.

Very disappointed,
I spent a month researching back racks and the their accessories on the back rack website.
I purchased the proper item # for my truck and ordered them from Action Car and Truck.
I picked up my Rack and I was told that the numbers were not correct.
The front desk staff member said that it was too short of a Rack.
I gave the exact # that I researched from back rack site for fitment with my tonneau cover and I was given attitude and felt like I didn’t know what I was talking about.
The staff member then switched the racks as if they were doing me a favour.
I had to pay the difference as well.

I assembled it yesterday, and the Back Rack is 2 inches over my Cab brake light.
It looks horrible.
I had the right item # and I paid more for the tall one I didn’t need.

I came in a few months ago desperately needing help with a BackRack for my Tacoma as I was moving out in the next month and needed one. The one I needed installed wouldn't fit and the salesman seemed bothered that I needed help finding one that would. Therefor I left and Action lost my business as I went on to Rack Attack not too far from this location and spend my 2000$ there as they had amazing customer service despite my age or appearance (I am and look young but doesn't mean I don't have money to spend if I tell you I need something). I strongly recommend Rack Attack down the road for any car and truck rack accessories.

This is the third time writing my review. I spoke with James after my experience. He apologized and refunded the extra cost they had charged. He told me he would send a hitch and ball along with the refund. "You should expect it in the next couple days". I got the refund, did not get the hitch or ball. I called to speak with him weeks later for an update and someone took a message for me. James never called back.

I had originally posted a negative review based on my experience. Since then, I was contacted by James, who apologized for my experience and corrected the situation. I really appreciate the follow-up to my experience, and now, would recommend them based on customer satisfaction alone. Thank you James!

Easy to get what you need, eventhough your not quite sure which will fit where. These guys, click, n say.here it is.it'll fit.and minutes later, im out the door. Good price, Good product, and I'll be back in the summer for my Cab.

We got power steps attached to our Jeep. There were some complications but the team from action did an amazing job to fix it asap! I truly can recommend this shop and team to everyone! Keep the good work up guys!

Too many issues to list! Stay away!
Brand new custom aluminum cap has holes big enough to fit my hand through. Electric locks failed after 1 day. Sliding window clasp broke off after 1 day. Weather seal on sliding window broke off after 1 day. Installation was loose, I had to fix the wiring. They installed the lock fuse INSIDE the trim panels for the truck. Electric locks fell off after 5 days.etc etc etc!
Response from Action in Ottawa: "Well, I guess we could order new parts, but that would mean taking the cap off again.but, you know. " WOW
Also, charged me separately for installation even though installation was supposed to be included. Even charged me an extra $30 for the cheap $5 weather stripping that does nothing.
Me: "So basically, I bought a brand new, $5000, piece of junk? "
Action Employee: *nods head, not surprised at all* "Yes"

Bought an ENTHUZE CARGO LINER for my 2017 Nissan Murano and all I can say is WOW!

The liner fits like a glove and it very well constructed, even better than Weather Tech and at less than 1/2 the price.only cost $68.00 with FREE shipping.

I'd give 10 stars if I could!

Admittedly, I had an issue with a recent purchase I made at Action Car and Truck Accessories in Ottawa. Without being able to do a close inspection of the product because of the showroom being closed, it wasn't until the next day that I noticed some damage to the cargo box when I took it off my car and went to install the inner straps. I called to explain what I had seen and was told I would need to go through the manufacturer in order to process a warranty claim. Needless to say, having the cargo box in my possession for less than 24hrs when I noticed the damage, and needing it for my weekend trip, I was not impressed with the resolution. I expressed my disappointment and was told to sit tight while they would look into what other options were available for me. Well, expecting the worst, the phone call came in and we quickly reached an agreement that not only made my day, but made my weekend trip a success. I would like to not only recommend, but also send a huge thank you to the staff at the Ottawa location for taking care of their customers and making things right!

Great place for all your needs. Staff was great, helpful and very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend them if you ever need anything for your truck.

Called the store on Monday, 23 Nov (on Cyrville Rd. Ottawa) to order a hard Tri fold tonneau cover for my new 2020 Ford Ranger. I wanted to get the Bak Industries MX4 or G2, I was told by Action that it was on "back order" for several months. However, they could get me a Enthuse R line model within 2 days (they said their warehouse in Toronto had stock) and gave me a military discount as well. If I prepaid that day (Monday), I would arrive on Wednesday. So, I prepaid and waited. Wednesday came, I called them and they said for whatever reason, the truck didn't pick it up and it was still in Toronto. I asked when it would arrive, they said, sometime on Thursday, but, definitely by Friday morning. I asked about making an appointment on Friday afternoon to have them install it. Action said, of course, no worries or issues at all, we made our appointment for Friday at 1500 in the afternoon. I live outside of Ottawa (about 40 minutes away). Friday afternoon rolls around and I drive into the store for my install. The staff at Action seemed puzzled as they had no record of an Enthuse hard tonneau cover arriving (or even at the store) for my new Ranger. Two staff and a manager checked their records and finally see that it was indeed ordered on Monday, but, it never left Toronto and they have no idea why. I asked them did anyone call Toronto to find out why, and they actually looked at me and said "No". No further explanation, nothing. I asked them, is this how you guys do business? The employee (James Peski as written on the invoice) Sales Invoice # 12074550, couldn't explain anything and I asked him why he didn't call me, since we took time out of our day and drove into town specifically for this. I then followed up with, can anyone here get me this "elusive" tonneau cover, and no, I'm not waiting weeks for it. He said "probably not", and simply offered to refund my money, which he did. I left promptly. I drove down the street to Derand Motorsports (I've gotten work done there on my Mustang and other cars). Andre Derochie (owner of Derand), not only got me a tonneau cover for my truck (in only 2 days), but, get this, got me the one I originally wanted, the BakFlip MX4 (they did have stock in Toronto). I really don't know what happened with Action Car and Truck, they used to be a very respected and reputable company. I'm from the east coast originally (New Brunswick), posted up here because I'm Military, and Action started there (their HeadQuarters is in Moncton). They were always considered the "go to" spot for all of your truck accessories. I have to say, this experience has turned me off of them for good.

18 DEC (UPDATE) : The operations manager from Action head office reached out to me and we had a very good and lengthy conversation about what happened with my order with them. Mistakes were made and they are fixing it and pride themselves on customer service. I wish I could leave them a 5 star review, but I never did get the part I ordered. I did move it from my original 1 star to a 3 star. It's nice to see they are still a family run business that cares about their customers. Thank you

I must say,
My first experience was negative. It continued to be negative. But there is an Action CaT accessories guardian angel out there!

I had recently purchased some equipment for my vehicle and at the point it was a really great shopping experience with the salesman. Really polite and helpful.
Then a few weeks after I was near the store since I was picking up some materials from a supplier I decided to walk in to see where was the order at so I can schedule accordingly since it’s the busiest time of the year for me. Well let me told you. You want to turn down a great experience they have professional for that also. I walk in and it start with the look of “listen I’m busy what do you want”.
I walked to the front desk not a word from that person. I had to ask “sorry I will need some help “ as she look at me like she was to busy playing on the computer and phone. And it keeps going down. Button ligne I thick is don’t bother them when they’re not busy and nobody is in the store. Really disappointing.

This place has horrible customer service, the staff that served me was serving a customer before me that he obviously knew from past purchases, he was very polite with him as I listened to his conversation.as soon as as he turned to me he was very blunt and really didn't give me any customer service, he told me my product would take three weeks and that he requires a deposit I was ready to pay in full but he asked me to email him.very strange confrontation. I went to Van Pro Inc and they ordered the exact same item I was looking for they required no deposit and it will be here in one week and it was almost $60 less. Lol

I got my lift kit installed here. Good service and friendly staff! It was almost a 5 star experience except for one little setback.

Action is one of the best truck accessories shop I have visited in Ottawa. I spent some quality time with Shawn Atwill, who the Assistant Manager well versed in high quality customer experiences. This is the place I would purchase a cap for my Ford F-150. The service is beyond anything I have found in Ottawa.

I agree check your phone system! I tried to call 2: 00 till 3: 00 pm on saturday you get a call center in the east coast says they close at 3: 00 pm Atlantic Time Zone! On the the web site in ottawa they are open till 4: 00 pm eastern time zone can not find a number for the store in Ottawa that is direct to them! I finally gave up this should not happen. I called the east coast this morning talk to someone there told him what happened asked for them to check up on there system! I really think they should check what the staff at the store in Ottawa is doing! I'm not the only person that has taken the time to write a review about this! How many people just get frustrated and just move on to a different business! I have gone to the store in Ottawa an hour away from my home they have more then one staff and are never that busy so why they don't answer their phone?

I have been dealing with this location for several years. However, recently I had an unexpected need for a tonneau cover replacement that was damaged and AC&TA Ottawa went above and beyond to get me the right cover, right price and in a timely manner. I received outstanding customer service by the staff, and a big thanks and kudos to Amanda (hope I got her name right) for looking out for me. She went well above and beyond for my needs. Good products. My experience was they're very tight on installation service. I agreed to install the tonneau cover myself. When I picked it up the unit was big and a bit awkward to carry. No assistance was offered. I'm 67!

Went there to find some shelving for a new truck. I met a wonderful young man Shawn. He was so helpful and patient even though there were other customers in the store there was no feeling of being rushed. That quality of customer service was something I thought had disappeared. I am so happy I was wrong it is very present at Action. Thank you so much.
