I have been taking my car to this garage for the past two years and feel I should recommend it and share my positive experience. From making an appointment to taking my car in and getting it back, I have nothing but praise. As busy as he is, Eric is very patient and understanding, addressing all my inquiries and needs and ensuring I am happy with the justified cost. I have dealt with two mechanics there, Doug and Dave, and their years of experience and professionalism are evident. Their work is of a high standard, and compared with other garages I have been to, the cost is highly competitive. Use this garage, and you will not be disappointed!

I don’t normally write reviews but I recently took my car in for a few things and had such a great experience. The staff were a pleasure - special shout out to Eric for coordinating everything so well and Doug for taking great care of my car/taking time to thoroughly explain the work that was done. I will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family!

I was a long time loyal customer and was always treated as a valued customer by Chris. Under Chris the shop was thorough, procedures and tests/diagnoses were explained, and I never felt like I was a problem or stupid.
Since he's been gone the quality of customer service is mediocre at best and insulting many of the times.
I recently took my car in for a spark plug change, and left with a check engine light on and a dismissive explanation. They also did not offer to do a complete investigation, just told me it would be a $2400 bill to fix. I got other opinions and both suspected a botched job, and that it required thorough investigation - not just pulling a code and quoting a price for replacement.
I contacted Head Office and although there was some attention to the problem, it was handed back to the shop owner with a 'you're on your own' with the owner. The resulting offer to rectify the situation (10% off of the part) was insulting - and was mansplained to me like I was accusing them of ripping customers off instead of them trying to keep a customer.
When they got rid of Chris they lost the best representative of their business, and they've lost this customer for good. I'll give my money to a shop that is thorough and attentive, and who treats their customers like they actually matter.
If you value your money, time, car, and person - take your business somewhere else.

I bought 4 new Michelins 2 weeks ago and as soon as I took them on the highway it was clear they hadn’t been properly balanced. I brought car back to them today (as soon as I could get in) and the manager admitted they were all off-balance and that he figured his machine needed re-calibrating. He also said other people had been reporting the problem. That means for at least 2 weeks they’ve been using equipment they know isn’t working when all they do is tires!

They keep me from leaving my car by the side of the road. Service is good and staff are friendly.

Recently my mother and I took a trip up to Hamilton from Windsor to watch the university national volleyball championships at McMaster University. When we arrived at Mac, we noticed that one of my front tires on my vehicle was dangerously low and flat to the point of no return. One more hour on it and I would’ve been driving on 3 tires. Well thank goodness it did not hinder us on the 401/403 highways or else it could have been potentially life-threatening. Already being slightly overwhelmed with being located in a different city that was unfamiliar to me and a few hours away from home and the looming potential of being setback in dealing with the obvious problem of perhaps not being able to go home when and how we anticipated with the tire in such rough shape, we then spotted the shop across the street from the campus and they took great care of us right from the get go. Eric and his team were kind, courteous and professional throughout and VERY quick to diagnose the apparent serious problem and respond accordingly to address that by putting on 4 new tires after going above and beyond to get them that same day from offsite and even noticed other concerning issues with the car that we were unaware of on the same day within a 2-hour window to ensure that we had peace of mind restore in returning to our originally scheduled weekend plans out of town and more importantly getting us back on track to get home safely. Huge shoutout to Eric for being a hero, who instead of wearing a cape was wearing 4-leaf clover hat. It was our lucky day meeting him on the day after St. Patrick’s Day as he and his crew provided outstanding fast friendly service while being fair throughout. The shamrock luck and amazing service from him at the helm was critical in getting us back on the road safely! Thank you once again! Highly recommend!

Had my car towed in last night, called this morning and they had a battery replacement done by 11: 30 am! Great service

I had an oil change done on my car at Active Green+Ross, and the mechanic took photos to show some rust they had discovered on my rear brakes - not an urgent repair, but something to be aware of. I received a tentative quote for the service needed. I booked an appointment and had the work done a couple of weeks later. When I went to pick up the car, I was informed that when they took the brakes apart, less work was needed than they had expected, so the cost was about $200 less than I anticipated. Excellent customer service.

Great service as usual. Chris is a top notch Service Advisor that explains the work required clearly and with integrity. My vehicle returned to me repaired and with no issued. The mechanics do a great job as always! Thanks again.

I experienced a grinding noise on my rear brakes the evening before we were heading up North. I called Active Green & Ross on Main St.near McMaster at 8: 00 AM the next morning and explained my problem. They had me bring the SUV in immediately and assessed and replaced the rear brakes by 10: 00 AM. The price was reasonable and the service was fantastic, exceeding my expectations. Great guys to deal with as well.

Great place to get your work done. We have had many different services done here for all 3 of my cars. Chris is an outstanding service advisor.

They have always been easy to deal with and support their work. Our van had a defective water pump they replaced and they did all the work at no charge and even loaned us a vehicle as it took longer than expected.

This place is fantastic. They have never overcharged for anything. Tire prices have always been more than competitive but service is really exceptional. I commute so from time to time they have fit me in to their busy schedule to either replace a rad or replace brakes to make sure I get home. Highly recommend this location.

Had my snow tires put on today, they were stored with AG&R and that works well for me as I am in a small condo and no room to store stuff. I had an oil change as well. Quick, efficient service and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Covid rules were observed. I feel so much safer with snow tires on my Honda CRV. I am a more confident senior driver now. Brought a used, newly purchased vehicle to have looked at and to have new tires put on. Notified me of a tie-rod that need replacement.
Tie rod and tires were all installed within the same day at a price that beat a previous garage I visited.

Excellent service. Unlike other auto repair/tire places I've been to, I feel like these guys give you an honest account of what you do (and don't) need to spend money on, to keep your car running safely.

Make sure you ask for a detailed price for everything (including inspection) before you take your car their. Usually these guys give me a good price on things like oil changes etc. I don't know what changed but they ripped me off last time I was there. Last time I will bring my car there.

I have been taking both of my cars to this location for several years now and have always been impressed with their level of quick and thorough service. Will definitely keep coming back

I have been bringing my vehicle to this establishment for several years and am always very happy with their service. Tony has always warned me about potential issues with my vehicle well in advance, so I'm never shocked when certain parts need replacing. They are very professional and are good at communicating issues with my vehicle over the phone in a way that I can fully understand. Also, they provide a generous discount to McMaster students! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great mechanic!

Very friendly staff. Have been coming here for 10 years. Best value I have found for oil changes and winter tire changes. Very helpful when purchasing new tires as well (told me to wait for rebates a month later) and are very transparent when it comes to repairs.

I've been here several times and they are Always honest with me when it comes to repairs. Bought tires from them today and their prices were just as good as the warehouse store prices, plus a five year guarantee. Their hourly labour rate is honest and never rounded up in my opinion. Service desk staff are helpful and have car ready when they say it will be ready, call you when they are done or if they have suggestions.

First time at any of these stores, dropped my Ram off in the morning to have my Tires changed over. Job was completed as promised by 3pm. I was impressed with the procedures in place to sanitize before and after the technicians get in the car. No waiting area, which could cause some people to get annoyed but shouldn't be a problem with how the world is. Other thing I liked was that they advised me to return to have my wheels torqued within a hundred kilometers. Thanks to Chris and Frank.

The staff here are always pleasant, warm and friendly. As someone who knows nothing about cars they are always willing to answer my questions and consistently explain the repairs on my car in a way that I understand in a manner that is respectful.

The staff listened to my concerns about my vehicle. They provide options for vehicle service. The previous shop I'd been going to couldn't find anything wrong when I reported new unusual sounds coming from my car. I'm not a mechanic, but I know when something is off. The service team at Active Green + Ross took me seriously, identified the problems, and worked with me to book repairs and maintenance the car actually needed.

Really great staff, told me exactly what was going on with my car and saved me from some services I thought I needed but didn't!

Ian is friendly and has consistently provided very knowledgeable and amazing customer service. Prices are reasonable. I will be referring friends and family.

Bought rims for my Lexus. Ian at the front counter was very helpful. He is also a mechanic which was great to know. He was very friendly and made the process very easy.
The follow up was quick and the personal phone call to let me know when my rims arrived and a fast install date was appreciated.

They go out of their way to get oil changes done very quickly, and are always happy to check any strange noises or problems we may have. The staff at Active Green and Ross at this Main St W location have been nothing but helpful. I have come for tire rotations and changes and most recently for a muffler connection fix. They are extremely prompt during an acute problem and so reasonable and fair when it comes to cost. They never try and oversell products you don't need and are friendly and very helpful when asking questions.

Always get our oil changed here. If you're willing to leave the car with them, they seem to always fit it in. I just drop it off in the morning, walk onto campus, and grab it at the end of the day. It's my favourite day because I get to park so close to campus for free! I've always found the people super friendly and informative too!
