Adonis Ottawa

Caters primarily to a Middle Eastern clientele so carries many products not found in ordinary grocery stores. Wide selection of Arabic pies bread baked in store, pastries and mid-eastern cheeses. Lots of fresh vegetables, prepared and fresh halal meats. Variety of Middle Eastern and European groceries too. Great place!

I bought a salmon Christmas feast. WOW. The salmon was perfectly cooked and plentiful, the shrimp skewers delicious, the hummus and baba ganoush fresh, the potatoes a hit and the baklava desert fresh and wonderful. The meal could easily have served 10 people!
I have ordered Christmas dinners from Farm Boy but Adonis blows them out of the water.
The service is tremendous, the food outstanding!

I prefer not to go there on Sundays, because all good sales are gone by Saturday.

Where do I begin?

Spoiled coconuts, spoiled squash
I bought a bottle for some vinegar and it leaks
Samosas are oily, made of the wrong pastry, and not traditional

Bakery is horrible, just horrible

Purchased fresh cod fillets which were just great with no odor
and tasted like it just came out of the water.
A rare treat in so far as locally available fresh fish
First visit to the store on Saint Laurent. Very impressed.

The staff were AMAZING! I went there for a GREAT sale they were having but the people weren't strictly adhering to social distancing rules. It will be my only complaint and the only reason for 4 stars.

Adonis is very spacious, clean and well stocked and has much variety to choose from. The only disappointment is their bakery and homemade food.
Although appealing to the eye the taste is bland. I have tried many different items but have not found anything to write home about yet. On the weekend I tried the knafi. It had no taste and the bread was not fresh as it crumbled on my plate when I bit into it. For a place that is so talked about I'm still trying to figure out what the hype is all about.

Dones is a worst store because they are play around with the customer. They had the orange thevprice as $1 when I go by when I buy and I'm go to pay they told me this is ber each! I said it's okay it's happened sometimes so last time I bought watermelon from them the price is $4 so when I go to pay she told me know the it is per pound! So I pay for one watermelon more than $20I will never go there anymore

Worst shopping experience ever. The security guard was very disrespectful. When I asked to talk to a manager they refused to come talk to me. They absolutely don’t care about their customers and know nothing about the basics of customer service. I won’t go there any more. I have been working in retail and providing customer service for 4 years and this kind of behaviour with customers somewhere else would have resulted in a serious warning for internal staff and a termination of the security guard service.

I wish there is no star very bad quality bakery, small selection of rice, bad very bad arabic bread and dry the queue is not clear i will never ever shop again

Adonis chain in general is one of my favourite grocery stores, I was SO excited they opened in Ottawa. They have such a great selection of in produce, deli, meat bakery and take out. Everything always seems to be fresh, most importantly the pita. They are the only store that sell this vegan pesto sauce and I love them for it. Thank you!

Don't buy sweet and cake. You gonna get diarrhea and abdominal pain and cramps. Very bad and the worst sweet in Canada.

Purchased ground beef for BBQ. I can not tell what was mixed with beef but strongly tasted like liver very bad. Discard all and ordered pizza. Never buy ground meet from them ever

Great selection of middle east food. Super fresh pita, hummus and garlic sauce. Did I mention that they have an amazing selection of Baklava!

I don’t think they know the situation around the world right now. Too many people in the store and everyone almost trampling over each other. There was no room for physical distancing.

Fresh and variety of products. Very clean, which is of paramount importance for a food supplier.
Staff very friendly, respectful and ready to serve.
You are setting the standards for the food retail supplies!

A gem, anything you're asking for you can find there. The price is very reasonable and the vegetables and fruits are fresh. The place is very well maintained and clean and the collection is very nice for everyone. Vegan and vegeterian options are available. Also, there's a roastery that has a lot of different nuts and crackers.

I was there today and the security guard was very disrespectful, he was yelling at customers and he even kick my brother out because he was talking to me in the store. We are a family and we drove all the way down from Stittsville to get some fresh product but unfortunately my brother ended up standing outside.
Your customer service now is so down please find a way to protect shoppers from Covid-19 without being rude to them.
That security guy should be fired otherwise you are gonna lose all your customers.

Great addition to the area, their selection of cheese is awesome. A whole lo of selection and fresh foods.

Went there for the first time after hearing friends rave. I was not disappointed. Great prices quality and selection. Plus every staff member that I interacted with were polite helpful and truly pleasant. But I couldn't find white Adonis pita in the bakery section that a friend described as a must have.

I live going to Adonis you can find everything from bulk olives to baklava. Fresh fish meat and you can't go there and not try the sausage Merguez

This was my very first visit and was really impressed. Large selection of fruits & vegetables, great selection of meat and nice selection of desserts. Very clean and well organized. Love my experience.

Nice spacious and well organized market with a variety of the usual and also interesting products I haven't seen elsewhere. Huge pastry selection, olive and nut bars. Happy with the selection and quality of the produce, and reasonable prices.
