Not sure if these guys are dishonest or lack competence. Took my Audi A4 to them and they misdiagnosed it and suggest a fix of around $2500 plus which requires a turbo rebuilt with a 5 days down time. I went back checked the code myself correctly diagnosed the issue and contacted them again but they still insisted on rebuilding the turbo. I ordered the faulty waste gate actuator worth $450 myself and spent half to one hour to replace it and my car is all good since then. Not a really 4.9/5 experience, it was terrible service

Gord and team have serviced my car for over a decade and I trust them fully. It's undeniable Gord genuinely loves his craft!

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Mechanic who looked at my 2010 VW Tiguan was very thorough with inspecting my car for issues and saved me from investing more money into a car that is ready for junkyard. Thanks guys.

I've been meaning to write this review for quite a while. I've had a ton of work done over the past 2 years on my relatively new GTI by Gord and the guys at Advanced Autowerks. The quality of their work is superb, they're friendly and easy to work with. This is coming from someone with a (very) type A personality. I can be picky with respect to the way work is done and Gord seems to understand and appreciate that. He's always willing to give informal advice. Whenever there have been minor issues after installs/modifications, they're always willing to have another look and troubleshoot at no charge. They've gone the extra mile with some jobs (e.g. Extensive exhaust work) and at the end of the day, they make sure it's done right. They care about the quality of their work and they all seem to be automotive enthusiasts who like what they do. I'd recommend Advanced Autowerks for any new or vintage VW, Audi or Porsche, whether it be routine work or aftermarket work/modifications.

On two occasions I have called Gord to enquire about specific services for my car, and both times he has recommended more affordable alternatives. You can tell he is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the work he does, and based on my personal experience - he clearly prioritizes the client experience and client satisfaction over making an extra buck. Would not hesitate to recommend Advanced Autowerks to anyone looking for quality service at a competitive price.

These guys are experts at everything VW/Audi. The only place you should go if you're no longer under warranty.

After them having possession of my vehicle for almost a month total, Nearly $6000 later, 0 communication, my car engine is still fluttering and cutting out at lights. On top of that, I was told my ECU was the problem only to be told the ECU is not the problem the very next time I went in. It was supposedly a valve but as soon as I got to the merivale/Bentley light my car died on me.
The cherry on top was being told they’re “tired of this car” when I picked it up.
Well, I’m tired of your horrible service. It’s unfortunate I didn’t get the 5 star service that seems to be so common.

The absolute best repair/tuning shop in Ottawa. Knowledgable experienced staff and awesome service. Honest and reasonable. Have had many repairs here with a variety of vehicles. Stand behind their work. Went back one time because a clip broke on the new fuel filter. Fixed immediately free of charge. Not even really their mistake. We moved and still come here for peace of mind

I have been going to this garage for more than 20+ years. I have referred my friends & family to them. All the staff are knowledgeable & friendly. They are extremely honest & always looking out for the best interest of the customer. You can't go wrong with them.

GTI died three blocks away. I had it towed there on recommendation of friend. They were excellent. They tracked down and fixed the issue, and found another. I had everything fixed as well as a preemptive timing chain and tensioner replacement. The car runs so much better, and should be good for a few more years. Two thumbs up.

Took my car in and had a overall health check on the vehicle, Gord and his co-workers were very efficient and got back to me with thorough explanations on what issues should be addressed right away and what is less important, they are honest and the price is transparent.definitely will deal with them again.

I've known about Advanced Autowerks for a long time and have friends who like them. This was my first visit, for a fairly simple job: clutch bleeder block upgrade. The technician was knowledgeable, the work was completed to my satisfaction according to the estimate, and the car was ready when promised. Very happy.

I was camping/trailering for the weekend into Ottawa from out of town and experienced a broken shift linkage on my rare-ish '95 Eurovan late Friday evening which I tie-wrapped for a temporary fix. I searched for VW repair places online and went into Advanced Autowerks first thing Monday morning based upon the reviews I read. Gord knew the part; had done the repair before and got a new part in from TO within 24 hours, enabling me to be back on the road early Tuesday morning. Good mechanics are hard to come by; mechanics that know vintage VWs even more so; pleasant and customer-centred mechanics / garage owners are rarer still. Thanks Gord for the expedient repair and getting my family back to our holidays!

I have an Audi RS4 and I wouldn't dream of taking it to any other place in the city. If you own an Audi that's not in warranty - go see Gord. Down side is when Gord is not in the shop, his other staff members are not as accommodating or friendly for that matter. Often get attitude from them even when asking a simple questions.

Gord always shoots straight. High end german cars can get expensive, but Gord always finds the most reasonable and honest way of doing things. Advanced is my go to place.also a great tuner if your an enthusiast.

Gord and his team know VAG cars inside out. This was my second visit but a more serious one due to a MAP sensor issue on my 2.5 Golf. It didn't take too long to fix and I had the car back almost basically on the next day. The service cost is very fair, but if you seem skeptical about that just know that your car is in top notch condition and that there were no shortcuts taken. Don't bother taking your Volkswagen/Audi anywhere else, these guy's expertise and honesty is second to none. 5/5!

I had a problem with my Tiguan and Gord diagnosed the problem very quickly and resolved the problem.
Very experienced and knowledgeable person. I would definitely recommend this this place.

Oh my god! Were do I start with how awesome this place is to get your anything fixed they do it all! I’ve been going since 2003 and they’re the only place I will get my vehicle serviced even after buying it new. I really wish they could do factory recalls save me the trip to the stealership! Gord, Nick and Kelly aren’t just the guys that work on my vehicles they have become friends hell I stop in just to say hello and my son and Nick motorX together.
I really shouldn’t be giving them a good rating because then everyone will be going and it’ll be harder for me to get in for servicing lol.

I want to thank you guys for many many years of quality work and I do recommend everyone I know who has German cars to go to AdvancedAutowerks.that includes Porsche owners!

Fast, friendly and knowledgeable service and great prices compared to dealership. Had a right dipped headlight fault code. Was able to get the bulb replaced and the issue resolved with no problems.

Dealership wanted $190 for bulb not including at least an hour of labour, they claimed the bumper needed to be removed, and couldn't book me an appointment for at least a month.

Autowerks did it in under an hour as a walk-in and I don't believe the bumper had to be removed. Their cost included labour and was cheaper than what the dealership quoted me for just the bulb even after taxes.

Happy to do business with these guys again.
