Lovely caring and professional staff. They helped me with specialized eye tests that not many other "eye places" were able to preform. This is not just a eye glasses place. Highly skilled and competent medical staff including an eye doctor. Highly recommend Advanced Vision Eyewear Boutique.

Very thorough when discussing issues with my eyes and through doing the testing necessary to ensure that my eyes are healthy and to see what next steps need to be taken to correct my vision.

I am so greatful for the amazing service Advanced Vision offers, I can’t say enough good things! I am having major eye pain and issues with blurry vision, I called Friday at noon and with the help of Allan he made it happen, I was in the office and being diagnosed within hours by an amazing New eye Doc at the Fennel Location. He was fantastic…I have never had such amazing caring in depth care from a doctor. He explained everything even the diagnostics pics of my eyes. I left with prescription drops which my eyes are thankful for, it’s day 2 and they feel better already! The entire staff is kind and caring and give there full attention to you. Many Thanks. Amazing place! From the start I felt very comfortable. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. They explained what all the test were for, which has never happened before. Dr. Anderson was great! She explained everything and helped me understand why my old prescription was incorrect.
I loved that she allowed me to walk outside with my new prescription to see if I was comfortable.
Would recommend this place!

Great experience. Dr. Paul explains everything thoroughly. He's friendly and down to earth. Sid showed me a great selection of glasses. I really appreciate the time they took with me. I never felt rushed. Every question I had was answered. There was also another lady who is friendly and welcoming, I didn't catch her name though. They followed covid protocols and the entire place is spotless.

I was recently experiencing flashes in my vision and thought I should get it checked out. The AV team was quick to accommodate me by setting up an appointment with Dr. Anderson the very next day. Dr. Anderson was awesome! Professional, personable and very thorough. I later discovered she gave up her lunch to see me due to her concerns with my symptoms. Brilliant optometrist backed by a great team!

"Dr. Brian Paul is the best optometrist we have ever had the pleasure to see. In fact, he is most likely our family's very favourite doctor. He is kind and personable, efficient and motivated to ensure his patients' very best eye health. The office is replete with happy patients who feel that their eyes are being well cared-for and that their concerns are being assessed. Add to this the friendly and helpful staff who register the patients' arrivals and do any preliminary tests and this is a winning team. Friendly service, they always put our four family members in back to back appointments for us so we can come in once, open on a Saturday! Dr. Salaba is very intelligent and nice mannerism. I trust his diagnosis is accurate and fair. The office has a beautiful style, very chic. I appreciate how they taylor what we need to what our financial situation is. I cannot afford new frames right now so was not pressured into buying frames. And was given the best discount they could for my lens. And when I have bought frames in the past always sold a pair that suit my face and my personality. "

Sorry to say, but I’m not a fan of this place. Dr. Salaba not really personable at all, clearly just wanted to sell me something. The frames have no prices on them, and I had to ask how much they were. Every frame in the store is well beyond my budget. Even the eye exam was more than twice what other places charge. Before you make your appointment with this place, you might want to ask for some prices.

Dr. Salaba took his time and did twice tests on my eyes when the first time around the results were inconclusive. Professional assistant helped me choose my frames and explained to me her rational of why choose one over the other. I am really please on how the appointment went and left there satisfied that I made a great decision.

They insist they have emailed and called you about your appointment but they have not even mentioned the location has changed! Then they try to charge you for THEIR issue! Diabetics are suppose to have a free eye exam.but now there is a new test that is not free that this place will recommend and charge you for.this is NOT needed!

Made an appointment, a week in advance for an eye exam. I showed up for my appointment on time. I was asked to wait in a room for the doctor as he was running late. When I first walked into the Advanced Vision Eyewear Boutique I noticed a few hidden cameras, something standard you see in some business for security but I felt uncomfortable with the more I stared to notice as I walked into the back hall towards the room that they asked me to wait in. There was even a hidden camera in the examination room that I sat in. I waited in there for 28 minutes before I decided to leave and go somewhere else for an eye exam. I really don't understand why they make appointments for people, when time is meaningless to the doctor there.

Bad service the doctors did not help me said there results of my exam was correct but when i told them my right lens was blurry and my old lens was clear to see but the dr insisted he was correct never go here all they want is your money they dont care for the needs of others im not sure why they wont help me to see better isnt this what the eye doctors go to school for

We had our appointments at the same time. This was our first trip to the new office. We found the staff to be very friendly and professional. Dr. Salaba was very friendly explaining all the procedures and testing that would be required. Even though I was not prepared for the news he was giving me he took the time to ensure I understood everything he was telling me. Additional testing and a follow up appointment were required and he managed to “squeeze “ to in the next day.
If I had to say anything slightly negative. I found the waiting area to be rather uncomfortable with only benches. If you are there for awhile it’s not too comfortable. The other concern is that we found the prices rather expensive.
Other than that the experience was very good.

I had my first appointment with Dr, Sheldon the other day and was very impressed. He was so thorough, and explained everything so clearly that although he wasn't giving me news that I really wanted to hear, his way of telling me what was wrong and how to go about accepting it, made me feel that it wasn't so bad after all. I felt very comfortable and hope to continue with him for years to come.
His assistant Paula is a delightful young woman and spent quite awhile with me trying on glasses and explaining all the new features out there now. By the time we were finished I felt like I had known everyone there for a long time though I had just met them.
My only concern is the price quoted for my glasses. I realize that my eyes are not great and probably require more work in the lenses, but the glasses are almost the same price as the lenses. My husband and I are both in our 80's and it is hard to justify when you are on a fixed income.
Now please don't get me wrong, I am hoping to continue going there, just not sure about purchasing glasses there and have great praise for everyone there.

I have taken my kids to Dr. Erdie for the last few years and while I am always very happy with the eye doctors who have examined them I was quite disappointed at our last visit by the new location and how stark and uninviting it is for kids especially! My 3yr olds appointment took at total of 2hrs and 20mins which is longer then we have ever had to wait. I understand the need for drops and time between tests but the excessive wait for such a small child in a place thats gone from having toys and books in a waiting area to nothing but black and white photos and not comfortable waiting area was exhausting! Glad my daughter was as good as she was but this last visit has made me seriously consider trying another place in future. I would give less stars except for Dr. Erdie who has always been incredible with the kids

They broke my glasses.
I have been going to Dr. Eddie's for several years. I have had very good service when I have had problems with my glasses. I bought them there because of the 2 year warranty on the frames. When I bought the last pair I was told that there was 2 years on the frames and 1 year warranty on the lenses. I have had a few problems with cheese glasses and the staff have been good when I go in to have them adjusted. 2 of the times in the past, one of the hinges have been broken during the adjustments. Both times they replaced the arm. Today I went in to have them adjusted. They adjusted the arms. After I left I noticed that during the adjustment on of the hinges was broken. I went back in (10 min later). They said there was nothing they could do. That warranty on th frames was one year and it was past that. When I told them what I was told when I bouts them, they said it was the staff at the old office, that the Warranty is 1 year on the frames and 2 years on the lenses, there is nothing they can do. They broke my glasses and there is nothing they can do.

We’re having unresolved issues with Advanced Vision. I brought my 86yr old mother to have her eyes examined by Dr Erdie. He was kind and caring. My mother felt comfortable and at ease with him. Then we were subjected to the sales pitch of Paula Caron. Dr Erdie was not present when she discussed extra cost procedures- a retinal photo scan ($90.00) which we agreed to, and an ultrasound (another $100.00) which we declined. After 2 and a half hours, bifocals were purchased. We were not informed that this was a final sale. A folder containing 7 pieces of paper: information, next appointment, receipt, and prescription was given. We left exhausted. It was when we were at home that my mother said she did not want the bifocals. I called on the same day and left a voice message to cancel the order. Despite the same day notice, subsequent phone calls, emails, and follow-up in store visit, we have not been refunded for the glasses. The customer service has been very poor. Paula’s response is that the order cannot be cancelled and this is “implied”. We are awaiting a response from the owner, Dr. Sheldon Salaba.

(Part 1)
Succinct Version: Had multiple bad experiences in the last month. From loosing both time and money from lack/miscommunications, to horrendous wait times, to the thing I went there to get helped with has now gotten worse, with no help from the worse prescription I got from them. Don't waste you're time or money.

Story version, for those who feel (like me) knowing what actually happened will help them decide what to think: About a month ago, I started getting a permanent afterimage in my sight. Like when you look at a light too long and there’s a glowy bit that floats in your vision for a moment. But constantly. So concerned, I call my eye doctor, Dr. Erdie. I explain to the receptionist, and she speaks about how we need to get an appointment NOW, which is good…but caused me to panic more, which seemed rather unprofessional to set on the phone. But that’s just a small thing, okay, just get there and figure it out…

They moved. I get to the old building and find it empty, sign in the window saying they moved. I did not know this. I’m lucky it’s just a few streets down and I’d gotten an early bus to there from work. I’m not the happiest, but honest mistake. But see, they only moved 2 weeks ago after I asked. Why did they not mention?

Next, it appears Dr. Erdie is retired, because this is now a whole new practice with new Drs. Okay… I get there for my appointment just on time. I’m diabetic, but its before my year to get my free appointment, so they inform me I’ll have to pay. That’s fine, emergency appointment. It IS 40 dollars more here though…but okay. Still not totally happy, but I rationalize all somewhat understandable so far.

Get some test and exams after a bit of waiting exam, which went decently enough. Seems I’m getting ‘visual migraines’ and need new lenses, which should help. So one of the receptionists take me to look at glasses.

Relieved I’m not going blind, the woman carts me through glasses herself, which is odd. But I figured that’s how they did it here. Also, no prices listed on the frames as we look and narrow down? Umm… okay. Strange but again guess that’s how they do it here. I mention I don’t mind looking at men’s frames, but we never do. I feel rushed at the end on picking a pair. I get told the cost, which is a lot, but I figure it’s a higher end place, and still am a bit absentminded on not having major issues. That bit’s kind of on me, yes. I should have went with someone, but this was already dragging and I still had one more test to do, just in case. That takes awhile to get to…like, a long while. When I get to the end of my appointment I’ve been there for over 2 hours.

I finally go to pay, and due to my debit being old, it decides not to work. I put half on my visa and tell them I have to get the rest, which they say is ok. I go out and call my mom to see if she can spot me, which thankfully she can for the time being and wait for her to get there. In those 10-15 mins I get to thinking, and decide getting new frames probably isn’t needed. By then my mom gets there, and I go in and ask them if I can just get the lenses, I wasn’t big on the frames anyway.

I’m told no refunds. They are already getting processed because the request was electronically sent. This is surprising, since it was never like that at doctor Erdie’s that it couldn’t be stopped so soon after. My mom’s not happy, and nor am I. I say I wasn’t informed about this final sale. I am told it’s on the receipt, which it is…on the section hidden under the folder flap they gave it to me in. So that was…nice…

Fine. I’ll have new frames. I’m getting pissed how things are continually going wrong though. I get my call and pick up the new ones. Ask when I should notice a difference with the blotch in my eyes. Told two weeks, both for adjustment time for the new frames and to notice an improvement.
