Very satisfied from the guys and the car. My car was clean and without any trouble. Ajay and his friend were kind and helpful. Very recommended.

The service was amazing as they were able to provide an excellent car to me on short notice. Lucky me, i got an upgrade too.
Ajay, the guy whom I dealt with, was very helpful and assisted me throughout.
I would prefer to use their services in future and would highly recommend them.

Much cheaper than mainstream car rental companies.
Employees are down to earth, helpful, and understanding. I want to especially thank Ajay for accomodating my pick up time to my work hours. I wouldn't be surprised if he said he owned the place by looking at how much he cares about the service and operating efficiency.

Worst customer service and charging card for bogus charges without asking!
I rented a car for one day but later they charged me for three days without any explanation! Upon calling, they said they only found the key in their drop box two days later. Hence, even though the car was there, they will charge for three days. I spoke to them several times requesting to check security footage because I had returned the key on time. They refused to check again and were extremely rude and disrespectful.
Finally due to my persistent inquiry, someone got back to me and said they checked the footage and could see me drop the key and that the key must have got stuck in the drop box.
I have never seen such bad customer service and on top of that they were trying to get away with charging me extra when in fact it was their faulty drop box which the key got stuck in. It’s very possible that they were lying and wanted to make money off me.

Update: after posting the review, I only call got one call from their manager and I spoke to her during which she apologized and admitted that it was their mistake for not checking the cameras properly. The reply below is a lie.

My parents came to visit Toronto and we decided to book a car for a day to explore Mississauga and Markham. Their pricing was fair, the pick up and drop off process was easy, and their staff was extremely helpful and kind. Definitely renting from them again the next time they visit.

I have rented from them for about 5 times now and the experience have been great every single time.

Worst experience. No support. I could not rent finally. Arrange the requirements by Advantage. Went to office. But again denied. They told me to visit their another office. Hence now l rented the car from another company for 1 month. Loss for Advantage. Time waste for me

I found the overall customer experience at Advantage Car & Truck Rentals (Esplanade) downtown Toronto location very, very good. I am always greeted by name and treated in a friendly and professional manner. They always honor the 50+ senior discount as well.
When there was some confusion over a recent booking, it was all handled so efficiently and quickly, allowing me to embark on my holiday adventure with no stress or worries.

I rented cars from this location several times over the summer, as did my parents, and we had the most wonderful experiences. Not only was booking the car very quick and efficient, but the on-site staff were professional. All were patient, supportive and had a great sense of humor to boot. I came into contact with Paul when I was treated very rudely by another Advantage Car Rental office in Toronto. Paul was patient, clear and helpful. I booked a car on back to back weekends. The first weekend got the car (after a delay) and after that it was seamless, however, I had the car booked for the entire long weekend and got a call 2 days before that they don't have a car and I don't know where to even begin the kind of position they put me in. I booked a car 6 weeks in advance and this is the response I got

Honestly, this is one of my favourite car rental locations in downtown Toronto. Super affordable rates for downtown and Paul is the man! He is very friendly, super caring about his clients, and every time I get a car from this place he makes sure it is clean. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Horrible experience with this company.and their new manager Lil is useless & helpless making promises she can’t keep, they don’t respect their customers & they don’t care about their reputation or providing good customer service. I booked a car two weeks before the weekend I needed it on. I was called 30 minutes before my pick up time saying they don’t have a car for me and that they will let me know when they can provide a car for me within the next 2-3 hours.it was very frustrating and they didn’t even handle my complain well.and their cars are all dirty they don’t care to clean or sanitize it.and their always something wrong with their car either low tier air or oil change alarm.they are really a bad car rental service.save ur money and look for another place even if u have to pay a bit more at least pay for a guaranteed cars & better customer service.

We have rented from this location a number of times and the staff (Paul in particular) has always been helpful, thoughtful and professional. Advantage on The Esplanade has become our go-to car rental spot! Great prices and great service. Hard to beat that!

Had good experience renting car from them. The car was clean and in great condition. Person in charge was courteous and explained everything in detail.

The best rental company in GTA. Their rates are the lowest but the service is the highest. Their cars are clean and new. Never had an issue. I'm there all the time specifically on Fridays and not even once i was disappointed. Paul goes beyond to help and makes sure everything goes smooth

I used to rent cars from the Esplanade location every weekend before I moved out of downtown. Call and ask for Paul or Kunal. These guys are super helpful and made renting a car very easy and a pleasant experience. I would recommend them with no hesitation to anyone who wants an easy and seamless rental process. These guys are awesome!

Brutal service. Firstly I had to wait to pick up the car at my pickup appt at 12, the car was dirty and I had to wait for them to clean it. The car itself was gross and had a piece of tape on the windshield. Then I carried my small dog for an hour in the car and they told me on return I had to pay a $60 detail fee for maybe 20 dog hairs. The guy wouldn’t help or understand it’s barely anything and he told me usually they would charge $250? It’s a joke and then when I waited by the door the guy didn’t hold the door let it close behind him and just walked past and called the manager in front of me asking how he can charge me.they lost a customer today. I wonder how may another people they charge to clean there cars for them

Simple, polite, cheap and easy. I've had a ton of horrible experiences renting cars in the past. This one was as painless and convenient as it gets.

I couldn't believe how cheap the prices were and the quality of vehicle I received. I was out of there and driving in 5 minutes. Will rent here again and again moving forward.

Been here twice. A manager here named sai krishna, absolutely know how to deal with people. He really helped me explaining how rental cars work and stuff with patience, when I told him that I’m renting a car for the first time. I would say this is a goto place for renting a car if you’re in downtown Toronto!

Very close to union station. Was very helpful when I visited Toronto. Also the staff were very helpful in guiding us to visit the best places in Toronto. This will be definitely our go to place when the next time we visit Canada. Great Customer Service overall! Cheers

After a poor initial experience with Advantage. Lil, the regional manager, reached out to me to try to make things right. She was a pleasure to deal with and the company reimbursed me for my expenses from having to rent a truck form a different company. I commend the company for their efforts to help me out.

Booked a 16ft truck rental on November 8th to rent on December 7th. Everything went well until the morning of December 6th. They called me and told me that they will not have a truck for me - less than 24 hours before I was supposed to pick it up. I was moving the next day and they basically told me too bad there is nothing they can do. They offered me a $5 discount on a 10ft van which was completely insulting. Terrible "service". If you rent from here don't expect to actually be able to get the car or truck.

Fortunately U-haul came through for me. Use them instead.

Amazing service from the staff with the frendlynature, easy to book and quick confromation phone call, clean and good looking in Nature, so I recommand this car's. Tq

This was my first time renting a car downtown and Vishnu was the one that helped me set it up and made it easy for me to get on the road. I was running a bit behind on getting the car back and he waited past closing! They are absolutely right when they say in the end service always wins!

Got a fantastic deal for the weekend. They gave me a Brand new Honda Civic. Overall service was great. Very convenient to the hotel we we're staying!

Best car rental experience I've had. The location manager Sai Krishna Chundi was nice and extremely helpful, and the staff was very friendly. One of the best place to rent a car in Downtown Toronto, right next to union station. Rented a 2020 forte for the Thanksgiving weekend and the prices were very affordable. The staff were really good and the car was pretty clean. I will plan to rent with them again.

If I could give six stars I would! Advantage is, hands down, the BEST place to rent a vehicle from in Toronto and GTA! Not only do they have a straightforward and easy to operate website, they actually have people (like Santosh, who actually called to confirm my rental, and arranged it so I could pick up the vehicle sooner than anticipated) in their rental offices who answer the phone and care about customer service. After having an absolute nightmare experience with Budget Rental, Advantage is the ONLY place I will rent from going forward!

My husband said they were quite rude to him. In a service industry, that is foolish. He wanted to give a smaller company a try, and we’ve decided it’s best to stick with the larger enterprises. Will not rent here again.
