Frank and the team at Advantage are great! I find the best deals for rentals here, even during the long weekend, and the customer service at this location in particular is stellar. For newcomers - head to the Dollarama to find the office - it can be a little tricky the first time!

Jay was extremely helpful, another car rental couldn't help us due to postal code coming up as invalid. Jay had same issue but didn't give up easily and figured it out for us and got us on our way. Jay was super friendly as well, highly recommend

I rent Van and my limit time was 100 km for 24 hours I didn't use the van on the 100 km and just I broth it just 2 hours late then I saw they charge me $160.

Frank is amazing very professional, understands the customer service, will take care of you and a very honest team.

Booked a reservation, called at least 2 times to confirm with no answer. Arrived shortly after my reservation time and was told that I should've called to confirm there were actually cars available. When I said that I called multiple times the response I got was, "sorry I just got back. " Online booking procedure needs a review for customer convenience.

I had a great experience with Frank and his team at this Advantage location.
The check in was quick and easy. When I was taken out to my car it was a little dirty from the last driver and they immediately switched me over to a cleaner car. The car itself was nice and clean and ran great. I was very impressed when they suggested I didn't need the extra insurance I had paid for because the insurance coverage on my mastercard was more than sufficient. That shows a level of care you rarely see nowadays. Returning the car was a breeze and I was back out the door in about five minutes. I'll definitely be using their services again. Great job!

I have been renting at this location for a long time and on a Yearly basis, The Team are highly professional and very courteous, they work very effectivly to garantee the vehicle you get is exactly what you wanted or better, they have a great fleet of assorted vehicles in great condition and low millage. If you need a reliable vehicle, hassle free service and a good price there is no better place!

The guys at Advantage (especially Jay & Paul) are great. Their service is detail-oriented and speedy. The vehicles are also in great condition and overall everything is a very seamless and easy process. Plus the rates are the most affordable in the area.

Just booked a brand new 7 seater Ford Explorer for a family road trip. They seem very hard to find but with the help of Jay I was able to secure one at a reasonable rate. Thanks for your help Jay and for making this an easy smooth transaction! Looking forward to picking up the rental next week.

This location is my go to place to rent cars. The staff are all super helpful and welcoming! I have never had a problem renting great cars at great rates!

Went there to pick up my rental car. The service was quick, the car was good but the place needed some cleaning.

Made the reservation online no problem. $65/day. This place was close to home needed a car for one day. Normally I don't trust rental places because they come up with hidden costs, try to sell you bogus insurance, extended warranty, don't have the car you reserved then charge you more money if you switch cars. Not this place. The branch manager Frank, was straight up and honest told me my credit card covers car insurance with zero deductible did not need to buy any additional insurance. He also upgraded me to a larger car for no additional charge because the car I selected was too small for me. The next day I called him at 4pm and asked to keep it for another day because I needed it, despite being late, Frank was cool told me no problem. My credit card was charged $131 with no additional charges. I will go back again for sure. I would also recommend this place because of Frank. I recommend to anyone who is looking for simple rental car low price to go Advantage on Danforth Shoppers World and ask for Frank.

I’ve rented at the danforth location for the first time and Frank and Jay were really helpful, they really catered to my needs for car space and they didn’t pressure me into anything and asked what I needed and they got me in a rental right away! Honestly I highly recommend coming to this location!:)

Reservation: 8.30 am pick up time.
Reality: 9.50 am car was available and brought in.

Person was nice enough but this cost me my morning appointment. And A LOT of money.

This is a mixed review.

Advantage was my preferred local rental place for a few years. Prices were excellent, and the vehicles were great. However, making a reservation does not count for much, because the location does not manage their inventory well.

Several times I showed up and there were "no vehicles available" despite having someone from the location call me to confirm my reservation the day before, AND the morning of the reservation. I have had to either make alternate arrangements, or wait hours for a car to arrive.

The last time this happened, I was picking up a car at 9am on a Saturday to meet a friend for lunch in Niagara. I waited over two hours for a car, and had to change plans. A regional manager contacted me and offered a free rental as compensation, but that doesn't really count for much if they don't actually honour reservations.

I no longer rent from Advantage, and do not recommend this location to anyone.

Unprofessional service, only told us about their absurd deductibles the day before our rental. Talked over us, was generally unhelpful. I wouldn't recommend booking here- check elsewhere for more reasonable service.

I had given one star due to poor customer service I received when I originally called to book a car, however the second time Frank was amazing and did a great job rectifying the situation and provided awesome customer service. Thank you very much Frank

I used to be a loyal customer of Discount, but recently I became familiar with Advantage.

The service I received was amazing. The pick up took me only 5 minutes and return was pretty easy and fast too. The car was almost brand new and very clean.

Advantage has super friendly staff especially Frank who helped a lot to understand the rental policies and getting a good deal for the rental insurance.

I tried Advantage for the first time this week. The customer service was superb, car was new and very clean, pick-up drop-off was seamless. I will be back!

The office location is in the little nook by Dollarama at Shoppers World (South West corner). You might not see it at first if you've never been here.

I think this place is an incredible hidden gem. It was recommended to me by a friend who found out how much I was spending on day rates with car sharing programs. Advantage East York's rental rates are very competitive to other rental agencies (if not incomparable!) and it was also very easy to reserve a car online.

I've had a lot of rentals from various companies for work but this was my first time doing the entire process from start to finish on my own. Frank was so friendly kind. He explained everything I needed and was very professional. The car pick-up was efficient, smooth, and thorough.

My rental car was in great condition. It was practically brand new. It drove very smoothly. It was perfect for my needs. I ended up needed my rental for longer than expected and extending my rental was easy. The staff here are very helpful!

I was a frantic customer with a lot of emails and oh so many questions. The staff at this location were extremely patient and helpful throughout, and I thank them for putting up with me.

Advantage is the rental company used by Toronto Honda when my van is being serviced. Their rentals are clean and in good condition. I have used their services a number of times.

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I would certainly recommend them.

Aug. 20. ***** Yet again I have relied on Advantage for a van and as always they were exceptional in all aspects of my rental.

I had to get their insurance, which put the final price to nearly double the quoted price. Not sure why it came to that much.

Best customer service, I rent car very frequently and this the best place around this East York and SCARBOROUGH areas.
Price is very competitive and rental experience is always very peaceful.
In addition if they don’t have the car you booked, you get upgraded one for no extra cost.
Highly recommend this East York location to everyone.

I usually go to the more expensive car rental places, but I thought why not give these guys a try since their prices were CONSIDERABLY cheaper. They’re great if you need a cheaper, older model, no frills vehicle that gets you from Point A to Point B.

1) They have older vehicle models than the ones I was used to getting at the more expensive car rental places. I once had a van with no Bluetooth. (So, always bring an AUX cord/FM Transmitter just in case).

2) A hidden cost is car rental insurance. It WILL add more to the overall price that you were originally quoted. So, if you don’t have car insurance that covers car rentals, be prepared to have to buy theirs. (Fun fact, the overall rental cost will still be considerably cheaper than the more expensive places).

3) They won’t take the time to clean their vehicles as “meticulously” as the more expensive car rental places. You get what you pay for! Bring some Lysol/Clorox wipes, and paper towels just in case.

So far the most affordable car rental service I found in Toronto and the service is great too. I had this brand new Honda Civic for a weekend. Very satisfied.
The only thing that I don’t like is that I can’t return the car on Sunday. If I need book the car for Saturday then I have to book Sunday as well and return it on next Monday. The thing is sometimes I just need the car for one day! But anyhow it is still cheaper to book 2 days in Advantage than other car rental companies for only 1 day. Will come back again for sure.

I had some reoccurring issues with the company but the regional manager just called me and rectified the problems. They are reasonably priced and convenient. I will definitely continue renting from them.

There site let's you book cars, and but when you go to pick up they don't have any cars. Cars not as clean as other rentals.

Had a small issue with the rental, but the manager made sure the customer is satisfied in the end. I appreciate the customer service!

A bit pricey but good service although I was not impressed by the damage to the rear tale gate to the 18 foot cube van I rented one of my helpers fell and hurt himself pretty good. This could have been easily fixed by bolting on a new rear bumper. /tailgate. Both sides had magor damage which resulted in them being gull winged leaving the rear bumper/tailgate on a 45 degree angle. If not for the handle on the back of the truck that my helper had a hold of he would've suffered major injury and or death. The bruising to his left arm, leg and back are pretty extensive.
