Went for our anniversary and really enjoyed it. Steps away from the picturesque river, cosy cottage, great food and excellent room service. On the down side, the cabin wasn't very clean, the couch was gross, we had to put a blanket over it to sit on it. But they're cabins after all. Otherwise everything was as advertised and we're planning to go again in the winter. The owners were very friendly and attentive.

An excellent stay with our host Ken. He provided every service we need during our stay. He was receptions and signed is in and out, chef and waiter preparing and delivering several tasty meals every day, woodcutter preparing logs for the cabin fireplace, teacher - showing me several times how to start the log fire, house cleaning after our check out. He makes the Adventure Lodge experience unique. Thanks for the memorable Algonquin adventure!

Cannot say enough positive things about Adventure Lodge. My husband and I would definitely shout out five star plus recommendation to Ken and Penny! We were greeted with warmth and the upmost hospitality and kindness. The cabins are so comfortable and clean. The sounds of the nearby river rapids are so soothing. We enjoyed a tranquil paddle along the lake whereby canoes and kayaks are supplied. Bring your bike to enjoy the trails. The surroundings are lovely. Every meal was filled with gustatory delights prepared by the best host Ken. Thanks for everything and we look forward to our return. Natasha and Mike:)

I stayed here last year. The place is super dated and didn't feel all that clean. Floor had layer of sand on it and we actually had to sweep it when we got there. Food was fine and Ken did the best he could as a one man show. Only reason I'm writing a review because the reviews I just read seem fake. This place is not very nice. No access or view to water. Kayaks not really accessible. Service is non existent. Rooms incredibly old and bedding is from the 80's. Wife refused to sleep with comforter on the bed. We had a mouse in our room and had to sleep with light on. Ken just acted like nothing and threw some traps down. It was fine. And wasn't going to complain or do bad review. But something fishy is going on with reviews here hahaha.

Thank you adventure lodge for making our stay amazing and comfortable. The service was above and beyond, very friendly too. Loved the real wood fireplace in the room. Less than 10min drive to entrance of the park. I recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing getaway.

Ken and Penny were absolutely INCREDIBLE! This was by far the greatest service we have ever recieved in our lives. The environment and scenery is just breathtaking and our cabin was so cozy and comfortable with a fireplace, king size bed and jaccuzzi tub. They go through great lengths to keep things as eco friendly as possible as well which I really appreciated. I have accessibility challenges but Ken made it so easy to navigate and helped me get anywhere I wanted to go. He really went so above and beyond for us and he does this for everyone! We were treated like family, not just random tourists. The value of everything that you get for your money is SO WORTH IT! We got to enjoy exploring Algonquin Park with a park pass that's included. We went canoeing on their gorgeous and serene little lake, theh have both canoes and kayaks available. The food is also incredible and they will work with you around any dietary concerns you may have. It's such caring and personalized service, we are really blown away! If you're looking for a place to relax, unwind, recharge and refresh, this is definitely the place to go! We already miss Ken and Penny so much, we can't wait to be able to come back!

Disappointed by how dirty our cabin was. Floors are gritty, toilet was not clean, coffee pot was not clean, ice build up on the stair and front of the porch to the cabin. Ken was a very nice host and is doing his best, but clearly unable to do everything required to keep the place up. He and Penny do all the work. They have no staff and the place shows it. We do like that the lodge is close to the park and the passes are included with our stay and it was great to be able to bring our dog.

Cabins are right by a gorgeous walking trail. Cabins had real wood fireplaces which was such a cool touch. Very cozy. Food was good but could have had more vegetarian options. One meal I just asked for the steak dinner sans steak and they were kind enough to give me lots of veg. It was delish. Hosts were super friendly and accommodated a later check out. It was a great stay. Will definitely be back!

Though we didn’t see Penny much, Ken was a gracious host. The location is beautiful and it’s great that you get a free Algonquin park pass.
The negative reviews about the cottage/lodge, food, long grass, or solar panels are really unfair.
It’s unfortunate that people come to this place expecting the best food you have ever tasted, shaved lawns, interlocking brick pathways and a 5 star marble suite.
You get a rustic lodge that is well kept, beautiful trails to walk along and meals that are practically free! How dare people complain about the food. You are given 3 options for supper (based on your dietary needs) and can easily substitute for other things on the menu. The food is tasty and you get great portions.
The breakfast is repetitive but you get 3 options. If you are gluten, dairy and/or egg sensitive, I would suggest bringing your own substitute for breakfast time.
My wife and I loved this place, and for the price you pay I can’t wait to go back again.

Nice rustic setting. Good home cooked meals. Great fireplace and double jacuzzi tub in the cabin.

We had an amazing stay at Adventure Lodge. Hosts were great, food was delicious, cabins were perfect and we loved having a wood fireplace in the cabin. Was also fun to go out to the bonfire in the evenings to hang out with other guests. We were looking for a relaxing week away and we were really happy with our choice. Trails were a close drive away and amazing kayaking spots on many of the lakes in Algonquin park. Thanks so much for the great week. We will definitely be back again!

This place is so amazing we stayed an extra night! All the food was gluten free so I didnt need to worry about being celiac and they were so accommodating with the fact I have a dairy allergy that they changed out the sauce on the pasta the first night we were there. The rooms have tons of space and were clean. It is close to many trails, and we made use of the kayaks at the lodge the 2nd day. A HUGE thank you to Ken and Penny for their hospitality and making our 10th anniversary something we will always remember!

Had a wonderful 5 days here with my wife! Very cute and comfortable cabins and Ken looked after us very well! Lots of help with anything we needed!

Beautiful area to canoe and kayak in! A store just a few minutes away if you forgot anything from home. All the meals we had were absolutely fantastic! We will definitely be coming back for another stay

An added bonus was there was a Rogers cell tower nearby so we had full bars of LTE if we needed.

I stayed here with my husband and our dog a while ago. We were in a regular cabin which was quaint and cozy enough. We had a very reasonable deal for the weekend that included breakfast and dinner. It all felt a little bit eerie to me - there weren't many people there, so the small dining room was very quiet and we only ever saw one proprietor who seemed fine, but there seemed to be some kind of foreboding undercurrent that I couldn't identify. The food was OK and the package included a free pass to visit the park. There are only a handful of cabins and the grounds were just OK. It was a really nice relaxing weekend to be able to sit by the fire and tour around Algonquin park, but it didn't wow me enough to go back and pay regular prices.

Great place.stay in your own cottage, access to water sports, and dinner! Cottage was in great shape, very clean. The smoke from the fireplace was too much for me to sleep in. I would not do it in the wintertime again.

Stayed at the Adventure Lodge last weekend and had the most amazing time! My boyfriend and I brought our big dog with us and we all had so much fun! Ken and Penny are amazing host's so welcoming, kind and helpful. Food was amazing and they were so flexible with times to eat and being able to bring your own alcohol to dinner was great. With the park pass included we spent everyday hiking and doing activities because everything is so close. The cabin was so cozy and cute, loved having the fireplace in it used it every night and even in the morning! Located in a beautiful, quite area with paths to walk on and there were places for my dog to swim which he loved. Definitely would and will recommend this place and will be booking again soon!

We stayed at the adventure lodge with our two big dogs and had an amazing time! The cabins are cozy and located in a very peaceful area. The food was delicious and hospitality impeccable! Extremely dog friendly as well. Would definitely go back and highly recommend to others!

Ken and Penny are outstanding hosts.
We chose adventure lodge because it is doggie friendly (-:
Our lodge was the most private virgin islands one. Endless trail along the river right beside the lodges.

Supper was fantastic! Ribs, bass, steak, salmon, veal parm, pickerel!
3 courses each nite including delicious soups and desserts.
Ken gave us the option to pick up supper at the main lodge and take to ours! It was ready right at 6 and wrapped perfectly on a big tray just for us.

We ate full breakfast at the main house - great service!

Lots of wood available for fires in lodge. And little packages of bird food available at reception for feeding birdies right on our porch.

My wife and I just spent 3 nights at the Adventure lodge and loved it. We have been to the couples resort twice and had a great experience there too but the adventure lodge was a better fit this time around and easier on the wallet. Expect friendly service, good food (the eggs Benedict, steak and split pea soup were among our favourites) and a more casual/laid back atmosphere which is just what we were after. Our only criticism which seems like a bit too strong of a word but it is the reason for one less star would be the cleanliness of the rooms. We really enjoyed the log cabin and especially the wood burning fireplace but there was a lot of pet hair on the floor and couches and a decent coating of dust on tabels and furniture. We just grabbed a face cloth and wiped everything down but it kind of made you feel a little grimy. All in all it was a great experience and we will be recommending it to our friends!

We loved our stay here. We came up on a Friday night and stayed until Monday. Our cabin was adorable and very clean. The meals were great for the price we paid. It snowed during our trip which seemed to make it even cozier.

This was our second visit to Adventure Lodge and I was impressed at the change in the quality of the cooking from our first trip. My only complaint would be the mattress. It was very firm and made sleeping on my back very uncomfortable.

We were delighted with our cabin, with the meals, with Ken's friendly service, and with enjoying Algonquin Park.
