Been going here since I was little and NEVER HAVE I EVER seen animals in such bad conditions…. The water was DISGUSTING! These cattle in with the baboons were walking across the road and it was very clear they were in pain! Their hooves show they haven’t been trimmed in quite some time… With how much money African lion safari has coming in you’d think they would take much better care of these animals. Souvenirs are WAY over priced! I’m sad to say I will not be coming back African lion safari has let me down and I can’t express how disappointed I am after today…
Absolutely love every part of this safari! Very open space yet you are so close to animals. Now my favourite place in Toronto and definitely will come back next year!
Great experience it was our first time drive through safari and we enjoyed a lot with our 4year old. Worth the amount and time to be spent on a weekend with family and friends. The train and boat rides were included in the ticket which was awesome too. The birds and reptiles show gave good knowledge and awareness about the rare species.overall a great place to visit
It was a wonderful experience Saw lions closely and they were walking and doing some activities Felt awesome while watching them Also have seen other animals
Water splash was closed It opens only in spring time as what they said to us Train ride was osm The parrot show, snake show and bird show were amazing Overall it was a great day at lion safari
Great place to enjoy your day with family. Other good activities also inside including boat ride and aquatic park. Good experience overall. Will visit again.
Nice and fun place.good number of animals to explore for adults and nature enthusiasts. Enough things to do. Better you reach before 1 pm. Its good to watch bird shows there. Train and free boat ride is nice try those too.
Highly recommended for families with kids! Very interesting, beautiful & informative. And for the best funny ending, we go to the splash water park! We came with a 7 month baby, and he's been enjoying at the splash water more.
Perfect place to visit with kids during COVID, You can watch Lions right in front of your car, they roam freely. It’s a true Jungle Safari. We loved this place.
Will not go back, for full price ticket price its definitely not worth what you get. The drive through the reserve took over an hour as both lanes of cars were back to back, and no monkeys this year. All parks closed for the kids, and no splash pad. You have to pick a time slot to attend but line up was 25 mins to get in and the place was packed. Not worth the price! Went with a group and no one enjoyed it.
Loved the place lots of exotic animals to see. The drive through is especially good for covid pandemic. Too bad the water park is closed due to Covid but you can still see the birds and elephants by walking the trail after the tour. Only regret is that we can’t feed any of the animals like some of the other zoos but overall an excellent experience. Would recommend to have less ice in the ice cream it melts way too quick XD
This is a great place and we have taken our children and now the grandchildren it is never a disappointment. Make sure you take the bus for the safari ride as those monkeys and baboons can cause damage to your vehicle. The elephant bath is always a hit with the kids as is the bird shows that are most entertaining. The fast food restaurant provides quality pizza with a reasonable price. It is a full day and with the water park allows you to cool down on those hot summer days we are looking forward too next season.
It was fun for the whole family. I am glad we went at late September. Line ups wasn't too long and it wasn't too hot either. Watching the elephants go for a swim up close was a treat. We were also able to watch allthe shows and we were able to enjoy all of it. My kids was also able to ride the elephant. It was a really wonderful experience. It's nice to be able to do it once. It's better if you have food with you because thwre is a lot of space for picnic but if you didn't bring any there is still a lot of food choices in the park anyways. Lots to do for thw whole family. Worth the visit!
I REALLY had a great time at the African lion safari, and this is coming from a 23 year old. Its not just for young kids. The idea is great! A large majority of the animals are not kept in small cages but rather they get to roam around freely (in large fenced off areas) but still not your typical zoo. If you go you have to watch the bird shows, they have a bird's of paradise and a bird's of prey show and they are both phenomenal. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Me and wife had an amazing time and we would highly recommend this to all of you!
Great park to see a wide variety of animals in the most natural environment. Shows are also good but the arenas don't have a roof so on a hot day it can get a little uncomfortable.
As the father of two toddlers I was so happy to.bring my family here. This place is such amazing value. The kids loved the safari, especially the monkeys. We really enjoyed the family atmosphere and the positive energy from the hard working staff.
There was also a waterpark for the kids to enjoy and boy did my gang really enjoy it. So much fun all day! Definitely will be purchasing season tickets next year!
Nice place for kids. So many things to watch, e.g. Birds, elephant's bathing and performing for you. The special shows like elephant ride makes this place even special.
Bought tickets from Costco, which saved $ 6 or 7. Shuold go early to cover all the shows, around 9 am will be better. Kids definitely will enjoy, train ride, boat ride & splash pad (all are included in the ticket). Free parking.
Great visit with kids. This place has not only safari, they have a nice waterpark, bird shows, elephant shows, train ride, boat ride all included in the main admission price. Got plenty of food choices too. Definitely worth the money and time. They also have a gas station for those who run out on gas. Very friendly staff.lots to see.
Not somewhere that I would go back to often, but it is a great way to spend the day. The safari tour is a cool way to get up close to the animals. If you do today want to risk having your vehicle damaged, they have a tour bus option for the safari
Loved the safari ride. Kids in rear-facing seats might not see much, but it seems that seat-belt rules are relaxed if you want to put them up front. (No posted signs about this.) Wish we had more time to visit.
Bring your swim suits! The giant splash pad is excellent! It is included in your entry fee. African Lions Safari continues to improve, and impress. Be sure to drive the "safari trail" through the lion fields, zebra and giraffe fields, and the baboons. There are many birds of prey on display also. The "ride an elephant" is great, though pricey at $10 per person. The entry fee is high. Plan to spend at least 6 hrs visiting the park.
Best place for kids. Consider weather before going.parking free. Morning time is good to see lions. Water activity is also there. My kids loved George the elephant, talking parrot, lions, infact everything. Halal food options available.
A bit more expensive than I had expected but was a fun day and was worth it. Lots of things to do to fill up the day. The animals appeared to be enjoying themselves. Was able to interact with some of the less aggressive animals
Awesome place for the family. Kids will love it. It is a LOT of walking. Some folks take the season pass although we have done it a few times in a daytrip. The elephant and bird shows are quite good and are not to be missed. Splash pad for the kiddies, tons of space for a picnic, they have it all.
Have been going to this place for years. Gets better ever time I go. Prices are not crazy. You do get to see lots of animals. The kids water park is a nice addition. Family friendly environment. They also have a picnic area so you can bring your own food. Parking is included in the ticket price.
This was a very fun safari. The best part of the driving your is with the baboons, just be careful as they can hop on your car and get it very dirty. The animals are very domesticated, and the tour is not dangerous at all as long as you stay in your car. The rest of the park is very nice as well. The shows are well rehearsed and great for families. It's a fun safari and zoo to visit.
I am deeply disappointed that in todays age this for profit organization still promotes the use of elephants for tourist rides. People significantly underestimate the cruelty that can occur while training elephants to be compliant. It is a shame that these beautiful animals cannot simply be observed in a natural habitat doing what they were meant to do on this planet. Shame on African Lion Safari.
This is a great place! So much to do! Plan to spend the whole day here! Splash pad is so much better than Toronto zoo! The shows have seating and it’s great! Taking ur car thru the safari is quite the trip when it’s busy! Make sure u pack ur lunch and eat in car.
Super amazing staff! Everyone is so nice and welcoming. This place is so much better than the Toronto zoo because you get to see the animals so much more close up! One of the best experiences!
Cool to see the animals and be able to drive through the zoo but animals tend to just lay down resting during midday barely walking around kind of a disappointment if your hoping to see lions walking around next to your car. Still a cool experience though
Fun place to take the family. Kids loved driving through and seeing the animals, we liked that we could avoid the monkey section (they apparently sometimes climb on cars). The shows were fun, splash pad entertaining, perfect for young kids, but waterslides and pirate ship are only for kids over 36 inches tall, my 3 year old was too short. Unfortunately pony and elephant rides are not included in the admission. It was nice that there's a covered picnic area so you can bring a lunch and eat in the shade. All in all, a fun day with the family.
What a great place to bring the family for the day. So much to do for the price. Although there is much walking, I found for a theme park it was very tolerable. My 2 year old didn't even need a stroller. If you have a lot of stuff/kids gear to carry though, definitely bring a wagon or stroller. All the animals and facilities were very well kept. We took our vehicle into the safari without issue, nor did we see any incident s with others. Staff were all friendly. Looking forward to another visit.
We stopped at Costco on our way to the African Lion Safari and picked up 3 adult and 1 child ticket. On arrival to the gate it was discovered Costco had screwed up. My receipt from Costco showed I paid for 3 adults and 1 child, but they gave me 3 children and 1 adult. Costco is always crazy busy therefore they screwed up and gave me the wrong tickets. The lady at the African Lion Safari gate was so great. I showed her my Costco receipt and she made a call to her manager and they let us in using the wrong tickets. They could obviously see Costco screwed up. If you are buying from Costco make sure you get the right tickets! We had a ok time, it was really busy which made it not so great, we could not get into any shows as the seats were full, line ups for everything, if we go again, we would take the kids out of school and go on a school day.
Have small kid or like animals? This is must visit place. I have enjoyed a lot there.
I have enjoyed the drive from Toronto downtown to this Safari. It was beautiful drive. I liked it.
Anyway, this safari has lot of animals. You can drive in your own car and the points are placed so nicely you can not miss any one of them.
You can drive beside the lions. If you are lucky the lion will cross the road in front of your car. I was not that lucky. You can see white lions also.
There are many other animals. It is quite a big place. They also have tour buses for your convenience. There are some other tours like boat ride, train ride etc.
I'm on the fence. As a conservationists, I have seen the work they do and their successes in breeding, prolonging the species, this is what sets ALS apart from other attractions. On the other hand, more space is desperately needed, especially for the pachyderms.
A great day for the whole family. The guided tour are very informative and interesting. Go on a cloudy day to see the animals more active. The birds of prey show was a favourite.
