AGO Bistro

We arranged a private group tour (10 total) followed by dinner at the AGO Bistro. Let me say that you've not experienced AGO until you've had Stephen be your private guide (we went thru the Mindful Art exhibit)! We ended our tour with dinner at the bistro.the food was well beyond what we expected and the service, from start to finish, was second to none. AGO, you can expect us back again and again.thank you for such an amazing, immersive, and delicious experience!

What a find! I was feeling a little hungry (turned out I was a lot hungry) and thought I'd give the Bistro a try. This was one of the best meals of my travels in North America, so I kept ordering
I had the Canadian Beef Striploin, Semolina Cake and a great coffee. The Striploin was a perfect medium rare and veggies and jus delicious and healthy, the cake and coffee were scrumptious. Service was a nice balance of friendly and efficient, atmosphere classic modern. Loved eating so much I didn't stop to take photos however look up the menu on their website, photos there

Uncooked food and awful service! I ordered the grilled squid and it was uncooked and my sister ordered the Cornish hen and the meat and bone were bloody. We told the manager who is an Asian male and he told us he will discount the dish based on how much was eaten. Never have I been to a restaurant with such terrible service. Not an apology, not a “let me make you a new one” or “let me take care of the dish for you” When I told him that we are surprised at how he handled the situation he told us that the meal was half eaten. How else would we have known that it was uncooked without eating into it? His attitude was awful as he gave so much sass, rolled his eyes and did not apologize a single time. I told him I would like the dishes back to take some photos to post on reviews and he told me “so you want me to put on some gloves and dig through the garbage? ” all the dishes we ordered were not at all Tasty. The service is awful and slow. Stay away unless you want to get food poisoning!

Steak & Frites are back! It's my favourite dish on their menu.

This place never disappoints. It's a wonderful place to dine and drink. The atmosphere is comfortable and the food looks like it was put a lot of effort into.

Their prix fix menu is a great deal! Food was fresh and made with local ingredients. The chicken liver pate was generous and their pork belly was cooked to perfection. Service was fast and friendly.

Excellent brunch prix fixe this past weekend. Husband and I had the pate (very generous) and the fritters (delicious)! Yogurt and halloumi on the fritters was awesome! Quiche with Local smoked salmon was excellent, and the pork belly cassoulet was Outstanding! Would recommend for sure.

Food was pleasantly pleasing. Only thing they should do is find a new coffee supplier. Not the best coffee I've had. Service was good as well as pricing.

So this is my second time here since Covid and I can’t quite figure out what happened to the Bistro. New management? Change in the level of service? Feels more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. I have fond memories but this is not the same place. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Soggy fries after a 20 minute w wait.

Both alone or with companions, this is a great place to be. The generous portion of French fries, which are always delicious, compliments any meal. It's a wonderful restaurant near an amazing collection of art.

Only getting one cup of coffee with no refills is the reason I would never go back. Food was just ok but overpriced.

Really good experience. I had a burger, the menu was a bit high end for what I was imagining. Service was great, good views, I liked the ease of stopping in during our museum visit.

The food is delicious and prices are not too bad. Maybe a little higher than I would expect, but the overall experience of dining here is worth the cost and I never feel ripped off. The staff are very friendly and professional. You will not be ignored while you dine. The food comes quickly too, even on a busy weekend.

I like the wide spacing between tables since it gives you more privacy. It's always a calm atmosphere when I visit and patrons tend to be on the quieter side, which I really appreciate. It's one of my go to brunch places for this reason.

The decor and architecture is nice to look at with plenty of light from the wall of windows. And it's conveniently connected to the gallery so you can go look at art before or after eating!

Had a wonderful meal with attentive service, as always. Food came out quickly and was delicious! Our server was very accommodating and understanding about our dietary restrictions which is appreciated. This time we were sat next to their host stand and have to say we were very impressed with the hostess. It was very busy the duration of our meal and she handled the crowds and colourful requests with an abundance of grace and charm. Can't wait to return!

Pretty good food for a decent lunch while you're visiting the Art Gallery of Ontario.

The food was amazing and surprisingly very delicious and filling. The services was friendly and very attentive.

Servers always delightful here, we had a delicious brunch with a pot of tea, the Sloane brand doesn't disappoint for a delicious chai. The blueberry pancakes I got were perfect & the kitchen very kindly humoured my request for regular bacon on the side instead of the peameal they usually offer

Lovely place, with excellent customer service and great atmosphere! Eggs Benedict was so perfect! Definitely will come back!
