AiSushi Scarborough

The location is not very good. Xiaohong Bookstore looks quite big, but it is actually a very small store. I would not go there.

I just concluded a date at this fine establishment. Having previously enjoyed take out at another location I was pleased with the freshness and selection.

This dining exprerience lived up to the positive experience I had previously. The oriental themed decor was well complemented with the helpful and friendly staff. The sanitarly encased cutlery was a nice touch. The only element to this that I would have prefered was an actual menu, however I understand that modern times cell phone usage is the norm to view menus.

The selection of sushi and sashimi is best described as fresh and tasty. The varied menu will satiate the most demanding pallets. I most certainly would say to make this a place for the date night.

Had to wait 25 to get 3 veggie rolls. The only negative part about AiSushi.
Otherwise, i LOVED that they have more veggies than rice in their Maki rolls - I just tried the avocado roll and the veggie dragon roll - AiMazing!

Worst food had hair in my ramen. Tasted so bland and complete waste of money. Gave me hives and itchiness in my throat.

If you order online they don't tell you when you food is ready; i waited 1 hour and got no response and when i called they said it has been ready for 50 minutes. They are "too busy" to click order is ready button according to them. Would not recommend as they did not even apologize or offer anything.

Pretty fair prices in their takeout sushi, especially the trays. We got the Sashmi-Sushi-Roll tray, and every bite was tasty and savoury. Not to mention, some sushi places have weird wasabi, but the wasabi here was strong and spicy which I love. Will definitely be ordering more trays in the future

Usually we order takeout from the Markham location after having experienced poor quality previously from the Scarborough location, but last minute cravings meant our preferred location closed for the night.

We put in our order for a 60 piece mix platter on Uber Eats at 9pm and recieved it at 10: 20pm. Upon opening, we thought they had gotten our order wrong. A quarter of our platter was the cheap fish made as a spicy "salmon" roll. There wasn't the usual selection in either the sashimi, sushi, or rolls. I can understand maybe because they were done for the day (they close at 9: 30pm), but rejecting our order is better than serving lesser quality.

We paid the same but the difference between the two platters from the two locations are drastic (see comparison photo for reference). The fish is lukewarm and rice isn't cooked right. Is there worse out there? Yes.but disappointed nonetheless with Ai Sushi Scarborough because their other location is great quality and value.

Food was great, lots of variety and sushi came very quickly. Went to celebrate a birthday and the space was large and clean. Service could have been a little bit more attentive but they were still friendly. Food descriptions when ordering were mostly accurate except for a few items. All in all, quite good for an AYCE place!

A large variety of food including sashimi and skewer! Love it so much:) food is so tasty, especially the beef tongue! It is my favourite.

If you like the taste of amonia, bleach and foor cleaner than eat here. I went with a group of friends close to closing and the staff started mopping the floors while we were eating. All of us agreed it was hard to enjoy the food because of the overwhelming floor cleaning fumes. So hey, if you like clean floors please eat here, but if want that delicious brain cell killing chemical smell saturating your senses while you try to chow down on tempura than the choice is yours.

What a pleasant surprise, especially given the area! Have ordered take-out numerous times, from their Chirashi to platters.

One of the best 'value' sushi places around, but can only speak for their take-out as I haven't dined in. I had no idea it was an ayce place when I first ordered since the quality was on par with some non-ayce, non premium sushi restaurants. If you have those expectations, you should be a happy customer.

Online ordering makes it super convenient as well! Never had any issues yet and hope I didn't jinx myself. Will be returning!

Amazing. Good quality, better than other all you can eat sushi places. Miso soup wasn’t chemical tasting like other places, seaweed salad wasn’t chewy mass like other places, the spicy salmon was nice and savory as was the smoked salmon Philly sushi, octopus teriyaki was good and salmon teriyaki was AMAZING I may have had 3 servings of salmon teriyaki. Desert options were wayyy better than many other sushi places, I ordered Japanese cheesecake which was good but the fried banana took the cake for sure.

If you do not have a cell phone you can be serve!
this is one of that ridiculous places that you need a phone!

Stupidest place I have ever visited. You must all you can eat to dine in lol. That's their policy. If that's the level of customer service, you will never have my business.

I brought my family of 5 here and I had an incredible experience. Usually all you can eat sushi isn’t the best quality but everything was SO fresh. I love how everything comes in small portions, you aren’t wasteful but get just enough to try everything. The servers are also so quick and kind. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone

Great value for the 80 piece platter (sushi, sashimi and rolls). I ordered takeout for a family dinner and it got devoured. Would love to dine in and try the AYCE dinner.

Love ordering their party platters and Chirashidon. The prices recently went up but I think it is still a good value for the quality and quantity. It is cash only.

Pretty good experience. A little pricey for AYCE but great tasting food. Downfall was that there was mopping being done near our table and the over powering stench of bleach dampend the ambiance and experience. I'd be back, only in hopes to get the good food and no bleach stench.

Wow! A great All You Can Eat sushi in the area of Markham and Shappard. Our family was there on a Sunday for lunch and so surprised it wasn't as busy for dine-in as other AYCE around Scarborough. We scored big time cause the service was quick and so personable. Jenny, thank you for your hospitable service! Some highlights from the menu, torched sushi, pretty good ramen and a great selection of maki rolls included in the AYCE menu. Will definitely be back again!

Bento boxes here are good - have tried the salmon and chicken teriyaki, quality is consistent and like the steamed veggies provided. We have also gotten their sushi-sashimi platters but quality not as consistent, really hit or miss so have avoided ordering this altogether.

I've had food poisoning for 2 days since eating their 100pc platter. It was not fresh, shrimp was really stinky and had spots over it. Everything else smelt off and questionable. Lesson learned, cheap never wins.

It's very difficult to find a good AYCE sushi spot with amazing service. We are now regulars to this location. The service and quality of sushi is always amazing. It's always fresh. Always timely. They're always amazing to us. Not rude like some other AYCE chains in the scarborough area. Recommend whole heartedly!

Food was amazing. 2 stars because the service wasn't the best. One of the servers was very rude, being aggressive as she was delivering our orders. Unprofessional server. Felt rushed out of restaurant. Otherwise food is good, try and avoid this server

We always get take-out here, especially when indoor dining is closed during pandemic lockdown times. We usually get the 100pcs sashimi-sushi-roll combo trays or the 80 pcs sashimi tray. The 100pcs sashimi-sushi-roll combo trays have changed from time to time over the years (e.g. Sometimes they have squid rolls, other times the squid is by itself, sometimes they give big shrimp sashimi, other times salmon belly, etc.) but they have been consistently fresh and tasty. The prices are reasonable; they have gone up a few dollars but most businesses are forced to do that during these times.

Dine-in AYCE is recommended but not a superb experience. Taste-wise, it can be a hit or miss as we've dined-in a few times and sometimes some food items are spot-on and other times need improvement - not with freshness per se, more so with seasoning and cook on specific items (i.e. Mainly the hot food items). Service here has always been wonderful - Jenny and others are attentive, helpful, and efficient.

If you're doing take-out, highly recommend the Black Dragon Roll, AI-Roll, and salmon belly (if you like sashimi).

If you're dining in, honey mustard roll, lamb skewers, and octopus or beef carpaccio are so yummy!

One of the few Great ayce left in the city (scarborough), for roughly under 50ish tips included.

Thicker cuts of sashimi, very fresh ingredients that are expertly cooked. Very friendly staff.

Limited choice of sashimi (very basic), certain rolls lacked flavor.

Overall a good place to dine if you're in the area.

Very worth the price in my opinion! $30 + tax and tip for lunch and dinner ayce but there's loads of high quality sushi rolls and sashimi, unique dishes, more. Unlike the usual ayce quality sushi. And they don't stuff the rolls with rice. Highly recommended!

Ai sushi has been my go to and have always recommended their take-out to my friends. When this location opened, I was so excited that I even went first thing when it opened to get a vip card. Unfortunately, I won't be returning after the incident that happened yesterday. I ordered my usual take-out tray and the quality of the fish has clearly declined. Clearly they are trying to pass off old fish for quality sashimi grade salmon. First, the salmon sashimi still had multiple pieces of bones in it and secondly the pieces of fish smelled so fishy I couldn't even finish the whole tray. To no surprise my friend had a stomach ache throughout the night. So take caution, if the fish smells fishy, DO NOT EAT IT.

Excellent AYCE sushi restaurant. The quality of food was really impressive and the price is reasonable. The staff are friendly and always around clearing your empty dishes. The atmosphere was great as well, definitely will be back for more.

Ambiance seems like you are not around markham and sheppard plaza, food is okay some sushi portion is not bad, they dont have spicy salmon like other sushi restaurant has. Service for monday a little bit slow specially arrival of food, server doesnt sure if its for your table or not. $30 all you can eat does not include drink. Disappointing they dont have changing table.

Beautiful interior! The a la carte menu is reasonable but the all you can eat is a little pricey. We ordered the Bento Box, which was okay not the best. The chicken in the Bento box was a little under cooked, we sent it back and they stir fried it a bit more, was not a problem.

Ate here on a weekday evening for my birthday. Friendly and smiley staff and a very cool and quirky decor! Great atmosphere for family and friends. AYCE sushi was great and you can't go wrong with the ice creams. We left here with very full stomachs. This is a go-to for solid all-you-can-eat sushi!

Only good for takeout n buffet option. Employees seem to expect Tips even on takeout and if you dine in servers look often lost if you don't speak their language.

They offer a vast variety of delicious food. I enjoy eating here. Staff members are always super nice, rates are affordable and the place is always neat.

Very upscale, modern and trendy place. Food was good, I'd say it's a 4/5 stars. Portions are very big, sashimi slices were cut thick, rolls are hefty.

Good, fresh a la carte sushi. Octopus carpaccio was excellent. There was a sashimi piece that was mackerel on top of pressed roe that was outstanding for the price point. Party trays very reasonable prices.

You can't beat the quality and service at this price. The staff are all professional, courteous, and nice. Food is exceptionally good. Even the all you can eat. Gotta try them out.

Super cute spot, nice deco, looks clean, rolls and special rolls are cheap for the taste and quantity you get! You can get 6 pieces of their regular rolls for only $5!

Mainly come here for their sushi takeout platters. Definitely worth the price you’re paying. Called a day before to order 160pcs rolls and when I arrived to pick up, everything was ready to go on time. Definitely recommend if you need to order for a party or large gathering or if you’re just craving sushi. Lol

Came here for the ayce once.not my cup of tea as I don’t think the quality of food justifies the price I’m paying but I generally don’t like ayce joints.

Nicer seating area with lots of room compare to other AI Sushi branches. I feel the quality or freshness of fishes are not as good as other branches, maybe it's just on that date when I visited

The atmosphere here is actually pretty cool, unfortunately my takeout order didn’t go through when I came in and I wound up waiting around for over 30 minutes for my food (2 rolls!) They said their ‘machine wasn’t working’ but offered no remedy for the wait. I’d come back for dine-in but don’t suggest coming here for take-out.

I noticed a new sushi location in the food basics plaza at Markham & Sheppard and thought to give it a try. The inside of the restaurant looks amazing. I ordered four rolls (3 house rolls and 1 maki set) : Black dragon, green dragon, spicy salmon maki, and a futomaki sushi roll. Sadly, the house rolls come in 4 pieces but their price does reflect that where a house roll will be either $4.99 or $5.99. With that in mind on a day where I didn’t have lunch is main reason why I ordered 4 rolls after work. The rolls were very average and they did not taste bad at all, in fact the green dragon roll was great. I left the restaurant paying $23 and some change for take out, I guess it’s not bad for four rolls. Based on my experiences with other sushi restaurants, I’ve received a soup and salad combo or even just a soup or salad on its own along with my sushi orders. Unfortunately, no soup or salad come with your sushi orders here (at least from my experience). I would come back as I had no issues but at the same time it’s not the best sushi experience that I’ve had. If you like sushi, give this place a try.

Friendly staff. Good sushi, however I was a bit disappointed with the selection. Some of my favorite items were not available. Closes early.

Rude waitress with a bad attitude. She was very condescending and made multiple snide remarks. Also, the salmon cucumber roll was terrible with chewy salmon and the roll falls apart as soon as you pick it up. The rest of the food was okay. Would not go back.

Food was amazing and atmosphere was bright and staff was very friendly. HOWEVER; we arrived at 8: 15pm and by 9pm the staff was standing over the tables speaking their native language just waiting for you to finish your food. They close at 10 and chef stops cooking 9: 30pm on the dot we were informed. 9: 45pm we were asked to pay as the person with the debit machine wanted to leave and during this time staff were moping all around us while we were finishing up eating.

Did the ayce. Everything was fresh. Only downside was that they missed a few of the orders and the red tuna with tempura roll was not good. The seafood became wet buy the rice cussing it to be chewy and hard to eat

Ai Sushi is the perfect place to go if you’re craving sushi. Good portion sizes, fair prices, and delicious food! You can order off of your phone and it will come to your table in a few minutes. Highly recommend Ai Sushi!

Wow wow wow! I've never tasted sushi and ramen that flavorful! Im definitely coming back. And of course the interior feels like your in Japan, it's so stylish yet traditional.

First visit, and note I won't even bother to put photos. Miso soup is tasteless, ramen soup (9.99) is too salty. Katsu (fried pork chop) is thin and dry. But my kids like the udon (9.99) and teriyaki chicken Benton box (11.98). The beef ribs Bento box (13.99) is also ok. Cutlery has water mark which is a turn off at a Japanese restaurant. Chinese owned…can't blame you. Another turn off at a restaurant, placing my food wherever convenient for the server (wherever there's space) and not make sense to the customer. Lack of staff training.

Arrived at the Scarborough location, seated, heard and saw a waitress sneeze behind the counter, and did NOT cover her mouth. She was carrying a tray. She then brought that same tray to serve us the tea, wasabi, and ginger. We asked if she sneezed, and she denied it. We had to ask another waitress to change our tea, wasabi, and ginger.
When the food arrived, it was okay. Kinda like ayce quality. Drastically different from the rhill location, where it's soooo much fresher and bigger pieces! Don't bother coming here. You'll be disappointed.

They were still ironing out their kinks after opening just two weeks. Fast-ish Service when there’s was a server around. Food was meh.

It's similar to one of those all you can eat places where you get small portions and it isn't the best quality, except instead of all you can eat the rolls are just priced cheaply (all rolls are $5-6 but you get 6 pieces for the basic roles and only 4 for the fancier ones eg dynamite).

Sushi and sashimi 2.5 stars and other dishes 3.5 (but they're priced a bit higher than the sushi).

Mediocre quality. The picture did not match what was given for platters. There was more variety in the menu. Might give it another try if they expand to ayce later.

Wow I just ordered the signature Ai roll and it was heavily dusted by tempura bits. I just ordered this roll last week from the 16th ave location and it did not even come close to what I normally get. Major disappointment.

I meet with friends this lovely spot often! This is my favorite restaurant to dine. I go to this spot at least once a month. The cooking is fantastic, the workers are courteous and the charge is decent. I enjoy meeting in this place over a good meal.

I admire this spot! They offer good meals, their menu is large, The chef in that spot is an expert, I enjoy a lot trying all their food. The dishes are always of high qualtity, the attitude towards the guests is friendly. I visit often this place and I not even once was unsatisfied. Highly recommended.

Ordered the Ai Roll at this location and it was made with half the amount of crab meat and was drowning in tempura bits. All the other locations put lots of crab meat and don’t add tempura bits. When challenged, the staff said the bits are on the menu. After pulling a menu out and proving them wrong, they proceeded to backpedal and say it was added for crispness.

I’ve ordered the Ai Roll multiple times from Richmond Hill and Markham and no “crispy” bits were added. They then said they just do it differently at this location and to tell them next time if I don’t want it.

Very disappointed in the lack of consistency at this location. Won’t be going back to this location because of the poor service, cheaping out on the crab meat, and if they’re willing to cut corners by blatantly filling a roll that’s not supposed to have tempura bits with tempura bits, I can’t be sure sure what else things they’re doing wrong.

I normally go to Ai Sushi for take out of party trays from their uptown location. Decided to check this Scarborough location out the other night. I guess for what you're paying for, it's okay? But definitely don't come in expecting very fresh sashimi. The rice at this location was also disappointing and the sashimi was generally blend. There are more and more smaller sushi joints out there now so I'm probably taking Ai off my list.

Everything was great except for a few of the staff. The restaurant itself is clean and well kept and nicely decorated. The menu has a lot to offer and the
is also good. The food tasted amazing and the quantities were bigger than I expected. But some of the staff are very rude, the young lady that took our order seemed rushed and rude. We had asked for a high chair for our son and didn't put him in right away and after 5 mins another came and and asked us sarcastically as to why we didn't use it if we asked for it. Once all the food arrived we put him into the seat - but since it was late he started to get fussy after 10mins so we took him out. Within a minute the same staff member came by and took the seat away mumbling something in mostly in another language all I could pick up was 'high chair'. Sorry for the long rant, but it really irked me that a really good overall experience was overshadowed by this one incident. But I should also state that we were also greeted by other staff who were really friendly.

We met with friends at this restaurant for lunch.we heard about this place from many people. Well, it was a winning.the staff were so friendly and we felt good. The food was just great. We loved this spot a lot and we will definitely return to this restaurant. We recommend this place to all.
