Ajax Family Practice & Walk-In Clinic

Arrived at Walk in 9am, 5 people ahead of me.
I had flu like simptoms for 10 or 12 days, and thought I may require anti biotics.
1130 am still sitting here. Next time will drive to my family doctor in North York, quicker.

Was just called in now 11: 32…. Sitting slone in the room, will updste when the doctor actually sees me.

I've noticed a recurring delay in examination start times, making the wait rather extended, whether one has an appointment or not. It would be wonderful if the clinic could consider communicating any schedule changes to patients in advance, enhancing the overall experience.

Additionally, I've encountered some challenges with the service and customer service from the front desk. I believe a bit of improvement in this area would contribute to a more positive environment.

Absolutely awful customer service/patient care. I was a former patient of Dr. Kristina and had to switch to a different Medical centre because this place never picked up their phone or answered their voicemails. I had to drive in each time to simply book an appointment or to even find out if they were open because their operating hours changed randomly and never matched the times posted on Google. I was pregnant at the time and this caused me a lot of stress, specially towards the end of my pregnancy. Also, the front counter ladies need to be retrained or trained on customer care and showing some empathy to patients. When I explained that I was 35 weeks pregnant and it was hard to come in each time to simply book an appointment, the answer I got was “that’s unfortunate for you”….

Dr. Warsame is a highly intelligent, compassionate physician who combines head and heart when caring for her patients. I wholeheartedly recommend Ajax Family Practice and Dr. Warsame!

I have known Dr Warsame for a very long time. She has been my family doctor for almost 10 years. And I must say she's one of the best doctor in Ajax who's very dedicated at work and very helpful in seeing patients.

Although I think the wait might have aged me a few years, the doctor was at least worth the time. She was warm, compassionate and caring. Very easy to talk to.

This place is filled with absolutely incompetent doctors, who just sit there to collect money from OHIP. You will have to wait 3-4 weeks before you can get an appointment as the greedy doctors have overbooked themselves. Not a medical facility but a healthcare business.

Dr. Stephen Uslinov is our family doctor for 2+ years now. He is approachable, understanding and great to work with.

Primary reason for dissatisfaction, however, is the clinic staffs - mostly unreachable over phone, almost never give a proactive callback for anything.

Worst personal experience: the failed to send my MRI requisition to lab and sat on it for 4 months even after multiple follow ups. I had to go to the lab in person to find out the doctor's clinic never had sent it. This is severely risky affair and shouldn't have happened to anyone.

Very fast, very friendly service from both the receptionists and doctor. Highly recommend this walk in clinic. By far my best experience in Ajax.

I will NEVER be going to this clinic ever again. The receptionist we had delivered horrible news over the phone and then accused us of being rude. The doctor didn't understand basic medical paperwork and when we called back we were lied to about which receptionist was helping us previously.

You first have to understand that comparing your family doctor to the level of service we had 10-20 years ago in ajax is unrealistic.with the growth of the city and population, the folks here always provide the best service possible. Dr. Uslinov from day 1 has been a friendly and understanding doctor that listens to you and shows you the utmost amount of professional courtesy can’t say more great things about the Doctor, I’m grateful to have him as my family doctor!

There have been times when life gets in the way and it’s hard to squeeze in an appointment, but the team downstairs in the walk-in has always been able to accommodate me for last-minute situations and Dr. Vishnyakov is Gem that offers the same level of professional courtesy even when the office is packed.

Always greeted with a friendly smile on every visit. Dr V is very nice and takes time out to listen to whatever is bothering me and always tries to find the solution for my problem.

Lfriendly family clinic. Like anything in the Canadian Healthcare system there may be long waits but overall it is a great place. Dr. Warsame is amazing.

I went in there on a Friday at 5 stating that I was nearly certain I had a UTI. It was fairly busy and I know that sometimes you need a referral to a lab to have things like that processed. Seems they have analysis on-site and before 7pm (when they close) I got a prescription and was able to have it filled out at the pharmacy in the same unit.

Honestly things are sometimes much more of a headache and I found the process to be pretty straightforward to get a bit of help.

Also the receptionist who was doing intake seemed to care about her work. Would go here again for non emergency issues for sure.

Great place, great doctors and helpful reception staff. I never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes with an appointment. I always get a follow up call back when I leave a message at reception telephone. They also accommodate urgent appointments.

Horrible! It says they close at 7pm, I got there at 6: 30pm but they wouldn't take me in and my wife and I got some major attitude from the rude black lady at the reception
Avoid this clinic if you can!

Waiting in the waiting area for last 1 hour approx.even with an appointment around 1 hr back, and this happens everytime I book an appointment here. Today for a change I decided to call before leaving to see the waitlist (despite having appointment) and they informed it’d be at least 45 mins wait time (nice that they were honest about it), still they asked me to come anyway on time, else they’d mark me as No Show. I dont get the point of booking an appointment where everytime I have to wait for more than 1-1.5 hrs despite having appointment. This is inconvenient because sometimes the issues are not life threatening, so for a 15-20 mins discussion, I have to apply for entire half day off at work.

I’d strongly advise to consider the possibilities to arrange or schedule the appointments in a better way considering all their limitations they have, OR to allow patients with appointments to come late when they specifically call to enquire about anticipated delay and not mark them as No Show, OR to allow Video-appointments to save time from both parties. Sometimes Patient’s time is also important (even if not as much as of a doctor).

This place is terrible we waited over 4 hours for walk in yet they haven’t seen us meanwhile more ppl are walking in and they are accepting them when they close in 1 hour, how do they plan to see all these patients I don’t know, I will never come back here.

I’m tired of reading bad reviews. I’m equally annoyed and frustrated seeking care for myself and for my child, and have some thoughts in line with those who complain, however…

Like all establishments globally, there is increased pressures on medical staff, including support staff.
I don’t think that long wait times or related pressures are necessarily the fault of any of the staff at any medical facility.
I think the larger issues of lengthy wait times, shortages of doctors and staff, and backwards rules about who you can and cannot see when you have a COVID exposure are larger than this clinic.

I think we all need to realize that we as clients are not the only frustrated ones, and that the staff are facing an endless amount of frustrated people and are burnt out after near 3 years of operating in crazy times. Realize and appreciate that their job is not customer service and forcing a smile, but rather getting you care.

If you have an issue with burnt out staff, with long wait times, with backwards policies; take it the government, not the staff at this particular facility. Tell them to bring in more immigrants in the medical field, put more money into facilities, and pay the support staff, nurses and doctors FAIR PAY!

This clinic is always clean. The staff answers the phones promptly, and serves patients diligently and as timely as possible given the circumstances.

Very rude and unprofessional staff, if they are busy then they should hire more employees to handle more patients.

I had an accident at home, I was sitting and my leg went numb, I stood up and rolled my right foot towards outside which caused me a painful minor fracture.

Long story short I had that accident on the 31st, and went to the doctor same day, did Xray, and clinic called me on the 4th day to let me know that I had a fracture, which they were supposed to let me know within 24 hours of Xray, they got the report on time but because the doctor was off for few days, they didn’t find it important to call the patient to let them know that you have a fracture.

I am still waiting with my broken painful foot, don’t know what to do, waiting for a call from fracture clinic, because they were closed for weekend, tried to call them no response.

Today is the 7th day and I feel like it was a total waste of time & energy, going to doctor and Xray. Why even I walked with my fracture foot? Very disappointed.

I had the most wonderful experience with Dr. Warsame. Her wholistic approach to patient care has been so healing to my family and I. Excellent doctor and excellent practice. Highly recommend.

Welcome to Canada, where health care is apparently free, although we pay through the nose for this so called free health care in the form of taxes.

What difference does it make if this walk in is free when you are waiting hours and hours to see someone.

This is such a backward old antique system here. Maybe this worked well when it was founded 60 years ago but in 2022 it's a joke.

I would rather have paid 500 dollars and be seen in 5 minutes than nothing (which is nonsense because I pay ALOT of taxes each year) and wait hours.

I see a doctor maybe two times a year if that and when I do waiting for hours despite paying thousands and thousands in taxes is a complete scam.

The average person gets better service at Walmart when purchasing a 10 dollar item than this so called "free" health care.

Do better Canada you are certainly paying for it!

Well I thought someone who had a good experience should speak up. Its as good as any clinic I've ever been too. Dr. Vishnikov is great with my baby and appointment times. I've never used the walkin.

Dr. Warsame and staff: They don’t deserve a star. Very rude doctor. The staff is terrible. Dr. Warsame has issues managing her staff and patients. The patients don’t go there to hear the doctor expressing her frustrations. If she’s so frustrated with patients/ staff and she can’t handle anything, she should close the practice. We all have our problems in life but don’t make them stand out in front of our clients/customers or patients. Dr. Warsame is a very unprofessional/rude and annoying doctor.

Had a worst experience with receptionists and at waiting hall. Though a scheduled appointment, neither receptionist nor doctors respond on time or after an hour.

Very unprofessional staff.

They give you appointment time and then ask you to wait for hours.
What’s the point of booking an appointment or have a family doctor if you’re not able to see them when you’re in need.

Even for booking appointments, hardly anyone ever picks up call. If you leave a voicemail they never reply to it.

This doctor and office contributes to the chaos our healthcare system has turned into. I have refrained from leaving a review in the past but today's experience was beyond frustrating.

On Friday April 29,22 I called Dr. Warsame's office to say I would take my daughters appointment on Monday May 2 because she was unable to make it. I had to see the doctor anyway.
The reception staff booked me in no problem.
I took the afternoon off work to attend my 1pm appointment only to arrive and be told that Dr. Warsame is not in because it was Eid. They said they called me this morning. I was at work and they didn't call my cell to notify me. I work in a school and all our students in class that observed Ramadan, knew they wouldn't be at school today because of Eid. Dr. Warsame chose to let her staff know this morning, that she wouldn't be in and to cancel her appointments, according to the receptionist.
I certainly didn't appreciate the condescending tone from the receptionist when she suggested I go to a walk in clinic.

I have been a patient here since 2018 when my most lovely doctor retired. The lack of respect for patient's time is beyond ridiculous. The reception staff have admitted they triple book appointments. I have waited hours when I have an appointment scheduled. The walk in is far worse as they take 40 patients and they won't let you wait in your car but instead prefer that you wait for hours with all the other sick people in the room.

Another example of my time being wasted was when I was told by Dr. Warsame to go get past records from my specialist. It ended up that I needed a consent form first. I had to go back to the office and get one from the receptionist and sign it. Again wasting my time when I could have signed this immediately after my appointment.

My 15 year old daughter was referred to a specialist. After not hearing from anyone for 3 months, I called Dr. Warsame's office and they said they put it through. I called the specialist office and was told they only see adults. I personally looked into a pediatric specialist and provided this information to the doctor and asked for a referral. Again, a waste of my time and the health of my daughter. Thankfully nothing urgent turned up that would have been time sensitive.

I waited months for another referral only to find out that was not taken care of either.

To add, mental health concerns are not taken seriously at all.

I have been looking for a new doctor but my fear is that this is how practices are now being run. It's very unfortunate and frustrating.

We’ve recently started seeing Dr Vishnyakov since moving to Durham. He has been great with my infant son and is very attentive and caring.

As other reviews have mentioned the reception seems a bit overwhelmed at times because of the extreme influx of new Durham residents so be patient while they figure out how to deal with the volume increase.

I personally have not had any negative experiences and find all staff very helpful, kind, and accommodating.

If I could give this clinic 0 stars I would! There is no organization for the order of patients in the waiting room. I asked the receptionist if there were any ticket numbers to hold my spot in line. The receptionist told me to wait there and that registration begins at 5. Then lines started forming which made me lose my spot. I then asked again if I'm supposed to now join to the back of the line even if I was the second person there and she said yes. How does that make sense? When I finally made it into the doctor's room, I then waited there for another 35 minutes until I was seen by the doctor, only to be rushed out! I could hear other people being called in front of me even though I was there waiting before they came. The doctor could not even tell me what was wrong and just quickly prescribed me to some medication. This clinic needs to hire new receptionists that have better customer service skills! They are working with many patients but do not know how to communicate or organize their clinic well! After I left the room, it was 5: 45pm with atleast 20 people in the waiting room and they close at 7. How are you going to serve all these people? Why would you accept MORE people? I know it's our own discretion, but have some courtesy to give people a wait time (there's a sign in the clinic stating not to ask for wait times). Please go to another walk-in clinic

Horrendous clinic, I do not recommend this clinic or Dr. Nasara Warsame. Wait times are uncontrollable but returning patient calls and pharmacy faxes are very controllable. This is not the first time I have waited longer than 3 weeks to have my prescription refill signed and sent back to the pharmacy… while being completely out of the medication.

I would just like to update on my last review.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Warsame since she reached out to me after seeing my post. She has been absolutely amazing, and you can tell she genuinely cares. She has helped bring me to a much brighter space. Such a lovely lady with such compassion. Thank you so much Dr. Warsame ️

Dr Uslinov is great. He really listens, he helps his patients make decisions based on their values. He provides qualified advice and recommendations, and he doesn’t rush. He takes the time to explain everything cleary and thoroughly. He is genuinely kind and caring, and he has an extraordinary work ethic which includes a total commitment to his patients.
His assistant Irma is phenomenal, she fills in all the gaps and is the easiest person to talk to. I found the office is very understanding that patients come in for appointments when they are not well, and they don't make you feel bad for being unwell. The team is dedicated to helping.
Absolutely a 5 star recommendation. Some people may disagree, and that's fine but I can't imagine it is due to a lack of effort on the offices part. Hardworking and dedicated, the whole bunch.

I am in waiting area waiting for our turn since last 3 hrs with my 2 weeks old baby. The wait times are getting longer and longer and the receptionist are always rude and can't even ask them a simple question like what will be the approx wait time. Also you can't book an appointment for an infant because he hasn't done his vaccinations yet? What kind of rules are these. The management needs to do something about the patient experiences because eventually we will find some new doctors in Ajax with good service and there won't be anyone coming to this clinic. Myself and few people waiting here are already looking for other options as this experiences are getting worse.

Dr. Nasra Warsame is by far the best doctor I have ever had. She's very kind, polite, friendly and most of all she knows her profession very well. She's been caring for all of us, our whole family since we met her. She is a blessing and we are always grateful that we met her. Thank you so very much for everything that you do for our family. Thank you to all your staff who are always very positive and helpful whenever we visit your office.

The only problem I have is I can't get appointment because it's so busy there I need the results from my the test I just had last week on my hand and shoulder I was hopeful to findout what's wrong I know she is very busy still is a good doctor

Dr. Warsame is the best doctor I have ever dealt with! She is so caring and never makes me feels rushed like other doctors. She shows genuine concern and makes me feel so comfortable with talking to and being around her. I will never change doctors as long as she is taking patients.

Unfortunately, even before visiting the clinic, I’m frustrated. I moved to Ajax in the new year and quickly registered here because it was the only clinic accepting new patients. I received a confirmation email that we’re registered in January.

I filled in the “request an appointment” form on the website and no one got back to me.

I had to call to make an appointment for my infant son to get his inoculations and was told that, even though we are registered with a specific doctor at the clinic, we haven’t had a “meet and greet” and I would have to bring him to the walk-in clinic.

I’ve booked a “meet and greet” just so I can book an appointment. While I can appreciate that this helps a doctor to understand patient history, I don’t think that it should a requirement to book an appointment, especially when it comes to childhood vaccines.

Regarding the online form to book appointments, I can book my own appointment at the hair salon, so why not allow registered patients to book appointments online? Coming from a clinic in Toronto that had online bookings as a standard practice, I find calling to book appointments with a secretary an archaic system.

She is a fantastic DOCTOR and has been my family doctor for many years. Dr. Warsame is the best doctor I've ever had, and I would definitely suggest her  to new patients. The walk-in receptionists are also very friendly and answer all of your questions. Dr. Warsame comes highly recommended!

Called 2 times left a messages to setup an appointment with Dr. Andre Vishnyakov. Still have not received a call yet. Called again today said hold please and hung up on me tried calling back they didn't pick up. How are you supposed make an appointment with the doctor if they don't pick and don't return calls.

I DO NOT recommend dr. Andrey Vishnyakov all of my experiences with him was rushed and the entire process felt neglected. I went in for a blood work request and swabs to be done only to have to swab myself (in my female regions) in the dirty clinic washroom it felt unsanitary and unprofessional especially when doctors are supposed to be doing the swabs. Fast forward to When I come back for my results, I am only given half the results of the tests I’ve done. On the same day I had to drive back for my blood work results as this “doctor” didn’t tell me about the blood work results and he made me wait even though I was first waiting in line he allows his other patient to cut in front of me. Mind you I’m only in the waiting line a second time because he didn’t do his job correctly, I had to ask him for blood work results even though the first time I was there I reminded him that I am here for my test results. I am a black woman and I hope that isn’t the reason I was treated I in such manner but unfortunately this is my experience. I would not recommend my worst enemy to come here, personally and I expected much better from a doctors office. Not to mention getting the second results he discussed my results in the waiting room which allows not only the receptionist to hear us but the other patients too which proves he doesn’t care for my privacy as
a patient. Personally he is the Worst doctor I’ve ever been to in my life I will never come back even if this place is my last option. Many terrible and negligent practices was my experience here.

Friendly receptionists. I have walked in three times with my toddler and we waited a short time. All three times, Dr. Andrey Vishnyakor saw us. He is always professional, friendly, and kind to us.

Terrible place I had the worst experience in this clinic they said they are accepting new patients and we went as family after we meet and greet that’s it we can’t get ahold of the doc, he is always not available or on vacation and when u call to book appointment you can’t be seen soon it usually have to be booked 2-3 weeks to come otherwise (go to walk-ins) that’s what they suggest, the funniest thing I booked 2 month immunization for my son and the day before they call and told me the doc is not available and he will do it over the phone that’s it that’s the day I decide to stop and look for another doc.

Our family doctor is Dr Andrey, and good part is we are always able to book quick appointments with him. Special mention to the receptionist, she is very kind and always happy to help and accommodate patients. Dr Warsame is also a great doctor, listens and understands the patient well!

I went as a walk in patient and I saw Dr. Warsame. She listens with your issue, very thorough and kind doctor. She is highly recommended, she is really Amazing! If I can give over 5 stars I would.
