Aji Sai Japanese Restaurant

Absolutely trash. It's a Chinese buffet with sushi added. Absolutely nothing Japanese about this place. Store bought cheap soy sauce is the only sauce they have. It was such an incredible disappointment starting with terrible service, bland food, dirty tablets and then after complaining quietly about the quality and about not being to eat anything, they adamantly made me pay full price with attitude. There are many wonderful Japanese restaurants in peterborough, including Madoi, Matsu, Toro, and this isn't one of them. Stay away from this fraudulent imposter.

From the outside it doesnt look like much- but inside the resturant is beautiful and the food is delicious! I love this sushi, I would argue its the best in Peterborough. The staff are always very kind and friendly as well. I would highly reccommend!

This place is wonderful. Delicious food, nice atmosphere, and quick and kind service. I've become a regular.during the shut -downs one of the things I missed the most was Aji Sai! Can't wait to go back in a few days!

I really liked this place. The all you can eat menu was reasonably priced, service quick, and food very tasty. This place is especially good for those on a tight budget that want to eat out.

Came late and still had amazing service. Truly a family friendly place. We enjoyed our fresh dinner menu items. Will be coming back often! Prices are fair and reasonable for a weekday dinner.

Great Japanese food, service excellent, waitress excellent. First time there brought family visiting area. Highly recommended. The beef Ramen best i had ever. Can't wait to visit again

My gf and I dropped in yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised as to the quality and taste of the food.i didnt realise it was all u could eat or I would still b there. Going back again soon. Friendly staff and very clean. My birthday coming up soon so will b going there 4 sure. Just have to brush up on using chopsticks as thats all they give you. Very fun trying.

Great selection of food made fresh. When we looked at our bill we couldn't believe what we were being charged for the buffet, but when we tasted the food it was all worth it. Staff was friendly and polite!

We recently moved to the Peterborough area from the GTA, and were looking for a good sushi restaurant. This one had decent reviews so we gave it a try. We were extremely disappointed with almost every aspect of our meal. The chicken and beef from the bento boxes tasted like rubber. The dumplings were rock hard. We got the Sushi Party Tray - the rice was undercooked and the fish didn't taste fresh at all. We had to throw half of it out. I've had better sushi from the grocery store.

Good food but very poor cleanliness in area leading to and bathrooms, very strong scent of urine each time we've been there!

Amazing, fresh sushi. Order on their website for a discount. Also if you pay cash you get a discount.

Good food. Service can improve but I would put that on management as I’ve heard some unflattering stories from staff!

I've been coming here for 2 years now. And when I say coming here I mean almost EVERY day at lunch time. I get the 3 rolls and a drink for $15 and its amazing always and always quick and fresh. Everyone is so kind and nice there, they definitely know who I am now!
Thanks for being open and being open throughout COVID19 I don't know what I would have done!

Ordered delivery, and it was amazing. Hot food was steaming, sushi was fresh and delicious. So delicious that I forgot to take photos until we were already eating.

Great food and service! We’ve ordered takeout several times now and the sushi has always been delicious. We recently ordered on New Years Eve, which we expected to be busy but the employees were very considerate making sure everyone waiting was looked after and apologetic when the food took longer than expected. Which is completely understandable on a busy night. Definitely will be back again!

I hate to do this but the chicken pad thai has little to no flavor. Butter noodles have more flavor. Please work on it

Service was terrible, food was standard, nothing came out together or for that matter even close in time.

This review is about the peterborough location. If I could give no star I would. My friends and I went in for dinner with their 2 kids. Both under the age of 4yrs and when the bill was paid they were charged 19.99 for one kid. The bill said Child 7-12yrs. That was the biggest mistake. We couldn't order a 2nd round of food. Non of the servers came to collect the dirty dishes, or even come back to check on us and see if we wanted refills on drinks. Only time they came to the table was to bring us our orders. We left the place hungry due to the lacking of "service" Yes my friend got that $20.00 back but thats not the point. Point is there shouldn't be such horrible service in any establishment like this. I for one will not be back, and I doubt they will be also.

Have been many times to Aji Sai and it is easily one our favourite all you can eat sushi places in their price range. Food comes out fairly quickly and tastes pretty good.

The quality was alright, but recalled it being better before. Certainly a buffet to recommend coming here for. Order slowly, and it takes them time to prepare the food. Their siumai and shrimp dumpling were good. The short rib was alright. The desserts were quite small portions but I ordered several so that was good.

Try the egg pudding, it was something I never had before, light, delicate, very nice.

Went for Saturday dinner all you can eat. It was by far THE BEST sushi I have ever had. Service was impeccable and food was ready! Will definitely be going back!

The restaurant is spacious and clean, except for the washrooms. They are so very tiny and didn't feel clean or inviting. The rolls all had quite a bit of rice on them, and there are always some very strange sounding rolls. My friend and I ordered the "avocado sashimi" out of curiosity and it was very literally a slice of avocado, which made us laugh. The sashimi was pretty standard, not as flavourful when it has to be imported. Thick cuts, but not very long. The mango pudding was great and green tea ice cream was nice and creamy. Overall, the price was good for AYCE but if you're used to good Toronto sushi, it won't quite be like that.

Ordered from Skip, they called to confirm and were extremely rude on the phone. When the food got here it was terrible. Pad Thai was an off colour and had no flavouring to it and nothing like it should be, just a pile of gross noodles. Pineapple chicken was just a can of pineapple chunks in the corner of the takeout container.

We came here for an early supper with our 2 year old, staff were friendly and attentive. The sashimi was excellent with care taken to presentation. Sushi selection was also good with some different ingredients. We especially liked the Philadelphia roll which seemed to be made with smoked salmon. The location seems to have been freshened up maybe when they opened? It was clean but showing a bit of wear, they had fresh flowers in the centre area though which shows some care. Bathrooms were not fantastic but they seemed to have had a flood recently which didnt help. Overall though I would return!

Good food, fresh, just if course more rice, tiny pieces of fish.try Japanese pizza with eel. Yummy
I wad here last time couple of years before. I must say they keep quality pretty well.

Food is good but service is not that friendly and food can be inconsistent also the bathrooms are not the cleanest and the place has an odd smell

My favourite place for sushi in Peterborough, the owner and staff are super friendly, welcoming to large groups or families and excellent with small children. The quality of fish is excellent and their cooked food is delicious!

Went here for my brother's birthday, and the food kept coming. We thought we had ordered too little and that we'd need to re-order, but to our surprise we were basically in a food coma by the end of it. Great place, and good food, but be careful on how much you order or you might be having lunch and dinner in one meal!

This place and its food are good. We saw on the web you can order from the menu as a regular restaurant, but when we got there, it seemed to be an "all you can eat" place only. We were sitting at the table but as we were two families together with some kids that would probably not eat that much for the cost, we were having second thoughts about this as the right place for that day when the waitress let us know it was also possible to order from the menu and we then stayed. Keep in mind you can clarify your preference before you order.
The food was excellent, quality, flavor and presentation. You need to use chopsticks; you can ask for a fork too, but we challenged ourselves to use them and I enjoyed doing and eating this way. We had fun.
It was a good experience. We'll be coming back.

My son and I had lunch at Aji Sai in Peterborough today and loved it. The sushi was the best I’ve ever had, the salad was so fresh with a delicious dressing and the miso soup was fantastic. The restaurant was immaculate and the service was excellent! Will definitely visit again when back in Peterborough!

Price is in the medium range for an all you can eat buffet but the food is well worth it. Everything on the menu is delicious and fresh.

Very average for an all you can eat sushi place. Nothing really stands out and the waiters are alright. Overall very average. But not bad!
