Ajisen Ramen Windsor

My friend and I walked in for dinner. There were only two other tables, after being seated we were left for over 20 mins no service but the server continued to answer the phone and seat other walk ins. Ridiculous.

I ordered the vegan harvest ramen with black garlic broth with Beyond Meat as the protein and the veggie spring rolls. They were sold out of the Beyond meat, so they actually called me which I appreciated sooooooo much! (I have had other restaurants run out of my vegan ingredient or simply decide not to use it, and actually sent me an order that I couldn’t ingest!) So that’s why I’m giving service 5 stars. She also gave me some pretty good suggestions for what I could do instead of the beyond meat.

Anyway once I received it, I couldn’t believe how delicious it was! The spring rolls had umami flavour in them, I think it was because of mushrooms? And they weren’t your typical spring roll crunchy, they were CRISPY! Like a very thin sharp crunch. They were so perfect. AND NOT TOO OILY! The spring roll sauce was very strong and delicious and they gave just the perfect amount.
THE BLACK GARLIC BROTH WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD! I’m not sure if they use MSG but the flavours were so amazing also with umami. It was the best vegan broth I have ever had. All the veggies were super tasty. The tofu was silken tofu and held together nicely. The noodles were softer than other ramen noodles I have had which I PREFER! I’m actually considering ordering this every week

It may be my favourite vegan meal I have had in my two years being back in Windsor, which includes middle eastern, Indian, Thai, Chinese, and fast food restaurants!

Went in with my daughter to get a quick ramen dinner around 9: 15 pm this Saturday night (5/20/2023). The restaurant is not too big, and it was about 30-40% occupied. We sat at the table and the waitress showed up pretty quickly with the water. The menus were already on the table.
We ordered right away, and then waited, and waited, and waited.
A couple came in about 5 minutes later and sat to our left. Their waitress took the order and in another 5 minutes their food was on the table, while we waited, and waited, and waited.
Another 30 minutes passed, and another group of 4 people came in and sat to our right.
Their waitress took their order, while we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited.
Finally, about 1 hour after walking in, we saw someone with bowls of food heading towards us.
But what a disappointment, it was not meant to be!
The food was not for us, it was for the table of 4 sitting at our right, who came in 30 minutes after us.
At that point, due to the maximum disrespect, we got up and left. Don't even know if our waitress noticed or cared that we left. After she gave us the water and took the orders, she never returned.
Made me wonder if we were invisible?
Or if the waitress was dim?
Or if we offended her with anything and she decided to ignore us on purpose?
Don't know.can only guess.and my guess is that she simply did not care.
All I can say, there was a very nice smell of food in the restaurant, and it was an exercise in patience to sit there for a whole hour inhaling aromas of what was supposed to be delicious food, while drinking our water and while people were being served left and right.
Right now, (as I am eating home made Maruchan Ramen Noodle Soup - Lime Chili Shrimp Flavor) I am reflecting on what Jesus might have meant when He said: "The first will be last and the last will be first".
There wasn't an option to say we spent $0 (zero dollars) on this experience, but that's what we spent for that water and the delicious smells, so the price was very affordable.
Recommend this place with all my heart, just hope you don't get our waitress.

This is an amazingnplace for food. Great atmosphere, excellent food and quick enough for lunch hour. Would totally recommend for anyone.

Was very excited to try this place but my experience was horrific. I ordered off Uber Eats and the food came with good timing and was very delicious. Problem is when I lifted up some of my noodles to take a bite I saw what could only be described as the thickest almost not human looking hair stuck in my noodles. I am absolutely disgusted and can’t even finish my food.

Amazing food, very fresh and so much flavor. Staff was very friendly. Definitely will be back.

The best place in the city for Ramen! I absolutely love it here. A for sure go to! The service is absolutely incredible also

First time I was pretty excited to try this place. Portions seem smaller than pho but it was my first time trying ramen. Broth had good flavour but the pasta didn't seem as fresh as I was expecting, seems to be a common complaint. Second time got very sick and sadly I don't think I'll be returning. I suspect it was the ground pork because that was the only difference in food between those who got sick and those who did not.

I love this place. The noodles and broth is very good and all of their food is fresh. I’ve been in that place around opening time and to see it grow is nice. The waiters are very kind and willing to help out.

Where do I start, this is my 3rd time eating at Ajisen Windsor location. First time was amazing second time there was bugs in the broth this was my last chance and a few months has passed maybe they gotten better this is not the case.

Upon entry wait time was fast enough.
We took our seats and ordered my order was ramen, Pan fried gyoza, can of regular coke.

What was delivered was a diet coke, deep fried gyoza and they forgot to order the ramen all together. I sat patently as my wife looked at her food waiting for mine to turn up. 10 mins go by no check in from the server finally we speak up. And the response is we will make it now.

So in summary this place has the potential to be amazing and welcoming having a ramen place in Windsor but sadly it's so inconsistent that it's pointless to go.

Had the most delicious bowl of Ramen. The food and service here was spectacular. Very glad I came and will definitely come back. Highly recommend.

This restaurant was very clean. Server was quick and friendly.
Ajisen ramen was flavorful, not too salty and good portion.
Side Pork katsu was thick and juicy.
I highly recommend this place.

Food is absolutely amazing the service needs work, they would not check up on our table for over 25 min like Everytime ever been here

Had a large group with kids, and the servers were very accommodating, patient, and quick with the food. The food was absolutely delicious! Even the kids loved the food!

Party of 6 including my 5yr old, had to wait 20min for a seat but it was well worth it. Everything we ordered was excellent. Steak, Curry, Ramen: D

Went for the first time today, ordered the spicy chicken ramen and the pork shoyu ramen and it was amazing as well as our server who was so kind to us and provided us great service!

I ordered the spicy miso with pork. Thought it was great. They are very busy and new so be patient with the waitresses

Update after 2 months. I had initially given this place a five star review but after coming there to eat recently I have noticed a dramatic decrease in the quality of food. The noodles were extremely mushy and the flavour of the miso was just not there. Don’t think I will be returning.

The black garlic filet mignon ramen tasted delicious and fresh. Service is quick and friendly

So good! Had beef ramen, soo tender and juicy and broth was rich. Server's are very friendly and helpful to those who don't know what to get.

We ordered the pork ramen and the spicy ajisen ramen for takeout. We were very pleased with the portion size, the broth came in a separate bowl and was still nice and hot. The spicy ramen was pretty spicy (so be warned) but it was absolutely delicious! We both could not stop eating them and kept making comments about how good they were!
It was quite busy when we went to go pick up our order but the staff was so kind and helpful!
We will definitely be back!

Food is great, tasty apps and ramen, no complaints at all there. My only problem is with the service. However, I don’t really think it’s their fault either. They’re clearly understaffed and their staff don’t appear to be all that experienced. I’m sure this will be ironed out with time. When I see that improve, I’ll give that 5th star. I have every intention of returning.

Let the record show that anyone who complains about the food itself either is an outlier and should give it another shot or has the palette of a 10 year old and probably thinks salt is spicy.

Slow, mediocre service. Weak variety for drinks and dessert. The cheesecake is very small for the price. Ramen can be hit or miss depending on the time of day or whose cooking it. It is good when made right.

My family and I would return to this place over and over. The food was so yummy! The restaurant is very small though, so if you have a larger group you should make a reservation.

I think they are great. Save your negative reviews for somewhere else. We are in Windsor so its better to support them so we can have a place to go to. Be nice and dont try to be a food critique!

Came around 7pm and we were able to snag the high table with stools near the entrance. The interior is extremely small and intimate seating if not in a booth. The traffic was constant, it stayed busy the whole time we were there. I appreciated the cucumber lemon infused water, just wish it was colder, I don’t do ice in my drinks and this was too warm for even me. My son ordered one of their bottled beverages, had a cream soda taste and was very small for the $4.50 price and difficult to drink out of as there is a clear glass marble that jingles around and gets in the way. We asked for a glass to pour it in. We got spring rolls, the black garlic and beef filet, and a spicy beef ramen. I liked the egg it came with but for someone who has eaten many a ramen, it was just okay. It lacked spices and bold flavours, even my son mentioned this about the spicy beef. And I’m missing all the extra things like naruto, more veggies, etc it was just noodles and beef with half an egg. The crispy garlic and spicy salt on the tables was a nice addition. The veggie spring rolls were frozen and forgettable. Overall it was just decent. My son and I decided on the 3 star rating, he also pointed out it was a bit pricey for the small bowl portions and just okay broth. This meal was $45-$50.

So i honestly had no idea if this was going to be good i got delivery and the spicy beef ramen im not feeling too well and i didnt feel like making anything i love this honestly will be ordering way too much ramen after this so thank you

Food was amazing, some of the best food I have had in a really long time. The Servers were excellent at their job and duties, even though it got a bit busy they still did a fantastic job.

Happy to report that the Tom Yum Ramen was absolutely delicious, with the noodles being cooked to the perfect texture.
Having said that, calling the "servers" "wait staff" is a bit of a stretch. All they did was talk about how much they didn't want to be at work, how hard working is, etc. Work? The only people actually working hard were in the kitchen!
Prices are a tad high for what you get, but the flavors made it worth it. I will be back, so I hope to see more professionalism from the serving staff. Disappointing lack of people management going on here - hopefully just a fluke.
