We worked with Alair Aurora/Newmarket on a complete home renovation on an older home in 2021/2022. Two major things we were looking for in a renovation company were for us to be able to have control over everything we chose for the house and that they prioritized customer satisfaction. Alair checked both of these boxes and we couldn’t have been happier with the result!
We completely remodelled two floors of the house, including a full kitchen reno (taking down a wall), two bathrooms as well as flooring and all the finishes. We installed a gas line for the stove and we’re able to vent the stove outside.
The companies Alair worked with for finishes were just as great. We worked with a great flooring company (who were able to customize the stairs exactly as I liked) and a wonderful kitchen company who was able to put my dream kitchen into place. Having Alair with us to coordinate all of these different vendors on a timeline that worked for us was exactly what we needed.
Jason and David were great to work with! We had two project managers throughout the process. Both were very thorough in their communication and updates of the project. I loved that I had a weekly update on the project.
A couple of things have popped up since the project ended and Alair was prompt in having someone come to fix it.
Overall an enjoyable experience!

My husband and I bought the lot to build our dream home several years back – everything was perfect: the location, the lot size, neighborhood etc. Well, everything seemed perfect till we started our endeavor to find the right builder for us. We just couldn’t take that decisive step– we knew that we had to put everything we saved (financially) to build our dream home and that was a scary thought. We heard so many horror stories while doing our research - we decided to halt the project till we found the right builder – someone we can trust with our eyes closed (that was actually my criteria).
Well, it took us 5+ years to find that BUILDER and 10 mins to say yes to Alair Homes Newmarket. At our first meeting with Jason and Andrew, within the first 10 mins, I texted my husband – “they are the one. ” Maybe it was just my guts but I saw their sincerity, honesty, and dedication that day.
The house is complete now (in less than 12 months) and because of the experience I had with Alair’s team, I don’t think I can ever be satisfied with any other builder. They set the bar too high. Andrew Rae, Alair’s PM, is just exceptional. PERIOD. I really say enough about him. He is just exceptional. I am so glad we went with our guts that day. Andrew is someone who genuinely cares about his client – you just have to meet him once to understand what I am saying. He knew our limitations/concerns and promptly addressed everything on time. He always kept us in the loop – never hiding anything – he was always brutally honest with us even when he had to deliver bad news.
Building a house is not an easy project – it’s very scary actually – but Andrew made it so easy for us. I just can’t say enough about the team at Alair Home Newmarket. All I can say is that if my boys ever want to build their dream homes – I will tell them to close their eyes and go with Alair Home Newmarket. PERIOD. Thank you so much Andrew, Jason, and David for everything you have done for us. We are truly grateful to your team. You truly are the best!

I had Alair do a large renovation 5 years ago. They were so professional to work with. Still loving everything they did. Five years later, when I went to clean the inside of the gas fireplace, I realized I could not open it up. After lots of research from Jason, we came to conclusion that the tile around the fireplace was too thick. Alair came back in after the warranty period was up and replaced the tile. Can’t thank them enough. Such a professional company to deal with!
