You can't go wrong when you go here. Their portion is huge with affordable price. Their jerk chicken definitely da bomb in this place! What I love was their rice so soft it basically melt in your mouth. The right herbs and spices not overpowering each other, a perfect dish to have when it's warm. And the chicken, just fall off the bone. Like seriously, you gotta stop by here just to challenge this review.
I finally got the chance to try Albert's tonight. So great! The food was very fresh, authentic and homemade, and the service was welcoming. Looking forward to coming again.
Who doesn’t love a good hearty soup. Albert’s has been around for decades.the food does not disappoint! I have tried everything. Good portions.great prices.highly recommend!
Ordered via Doordash and was really disappointed with my meal.
The portions of the curry goat order was very generous however the oil was way too excessive, I literally had pour out the curry sauce because the meat was swimming in oil
The jerk chicken was not what I expected, not sure what happened to this place but the jerk chicken looked and tasted off, unlike some of the other Caribbean restaurants this place was a real disappointment. The beef patty was my only enjoyable moment with my meal
Albert's is always a hidden Gem in the corner of St Clair West and Vaughan Rd. The food is amazing, I recommend the oxtail stew or the soups.they have a great menu. I cannot eat really spicy food so there are foods I haven't tried but I am sure they taste delicious. Bring CASH only. No debit or credit card. Delivery with Doordash
Albert's Real Jamaican food was very very disappointing! We had a basic jerk chicken dinner and it was DEFINITELY not REAL Jamaican food. Not sure what they used to make the jerk chicken besides a gravy full of sugar, I'm just amazed that he's still open and ppl go. Your making money on those who do not appreciate or know good Jamaican food. I tip my hat Albert being in the Carribean market making sales and not delivering what you personally know could me more value to your loyal customers who support you!
Absolutely astounding. I wouldn't be underselling the experience of eating the jerk chicken, oxtail, with rice and peas, as straight up transcendental. A straight up masterpiece, end to end. You have an enthusiastic and devoted fan. I cannot wait for my next order!
Albert's definitely the O. G.when it comes to oxtail and curry goat in the city. Many a late night used to be capped here instead of heading to one of the usual d.t. Rol san type joints. Shout out Albert himself when he gave me and my buddy one of his oxtail cooking secrets after popping into El Fogon across the street one fine night.
Been going to Albert's for years now. Went in on Father's Day to grab a feast for the family: Oxtails, Jerk Chicken, rice and peas, curried veggies, beef patty, and some Ting.
Oxtail is always tender and they give you a good amount. Albert's Jerk is not hot, but full of flavour.
Great roti, doubles, ox tail etc. Nice drink selection and tasty patties. Wait time is not too bad even they busy. If you've never been here should swing by a give it a try.
The place offers a great variety of fresh food. I liked eating here. The employees are always super friendly, pricing is reasonable and the place is always kept clean.
My friend suggested Albert’s Real Jamaican Food when I was visiting Toronto in Sept 2019. I tried the Jerky Chicken and the goat curry as recommended by my friend. This is my first time trying Jamaican dishes.
Just moved into the area and I knew Albert's had to be the first restaurant I visited. Went with the classic jerk chicken and it was amazing. Absolutely will be a regular here!
We usually order the curry chicken meal and it's been awesome every single time. The portions are great and it's all damn delicious. And of course the beef patties are great too.
We ordered for delivery twice and we were always really happy. The portions are good, the food is comforting and and filling. We’ve tried the oxtail, jerk chicken, fried chicken, coleslaw, goat curry gravy, plantain bananas, rice with beans and gravy as well as the rum cake much to our stomach happiness. We feel like the prices are reasonable. We will order again!
Great food late, but terrible service. And I know food takes time here. My last 3 orders were wrong. I would blame the mask, but getting a beef patty 3 times in a row after asking for a veggie patty is infuriating. Sometimes you're missing items paid for, sometimes missing sides of asked for. Some staff struggle with english (and I don't mean the patois speakers) so you can't really be sure what you'll get when you stop here. I've been coming here since I was a child and Albert ran a tight ship. Since moving up a few door I never see Albert anymore, and it's been nothing but problems since. But it's almost Easter - so try the bun and cheese!
I never write reviews, but this was just so bad. The *worst* veggie roti I've ever had. There were 2 small pieces of potato and like 5 chickpeas, and the rest was cabbage and a frozen veggie mix of peas, corn, carrots and beans in a runny sauce. I've had veggie rotis all over the city, and never had an anything like this. Just terrible!
Staff wears masks around their chins while getting your food and the owner just paces around the place or watches TV, without a mask at all. So many restaurants in financial trouble or closed down over the last year and this place gets a pass for what, overpriced Oxtail? I'll pass.
Food was amazing. Authenticity to Jamaican spices and flavours was on point. I’d recommend the oxtail with rice and peas. Customer service was also great, which is not something that’s common in Jamaican restaurants. LOVE IT!
Tried Jamaican food for the first time with my brother and his wife from this place. They are regulars so asked me to try it. It was so delicious! We got 4 different dishes and they were all fantastic. Yum!:)
One of my favourite Jamaican spots in the city. Great oxtail and fantastic jerk pork and chicken. The patties are delicious and the spicy ones have a little kick to them. You cant beat the cheap lunch specials which provide a good portion for a cheap price. There's pretty much always a line up at lunch though so give yourself some extra time.
It's okay. I had the jerk wrap. It was loosely thrown together. Not very flavorful. Service is at a snail's pace. Good in a pinch. Lots of other choices along St. Clair.
Have given this place lot of business and this officially is the last time I order or visit this establishment. Order a meal tonight through skip the dishes, as soon as I open it I'm welcomed by a long hair across my food! I've worked in food for years and this is unacceptable.the fact that this container was closed without noticing this is appalling. Your kitchen staff and anyone handling food should be wearing hair nets and/or hats!
This restaurant is my favorite restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this place.when I I need a superb dinner, this place comes instantly to my head.splendid and food and a large menu.generous team, and pleasant ambience. Not less important, the tariff is decent. I recommend this restaurant with no doubt.
Great food, fairly authentic Jamaican food and products and great portions. Restaurant is clean, friendly and inviting making it a great place to eat in. Take away option are also a great option if you want to eat at home.
This restaurant is my preferred one. I go to plenty of restaurants but to this place I go the most. The crew is very welcoming and the cuisine they cook is so fresh and tasty. I would always prefer to have a decent meal in this restaurant. I recommend this place with pleasure.
My husband really likes the curry goat. He said it’s one of the best. I had the jerk chicken there. The portions are big and taste pretty good, but I find it a bit salty for my taste.
Wonderful authentic Jamaican food! Great portion size for a reasonable price, and served with a big smile! I love boiled dumplings in my stew beef and they were absolutely happy to accommodate my special request. I've been coming here for years and I'll keep coming back. Albert's is the real deal!
This spot provides wonderful service and enjoyable meals. One of my favourite places in the city. The drinks and food arrived quickly and the prices are economical. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.
The first time I ordered from Albert’s, I got a curry chicken roti. It was the most horrible roti I’ve ever had in my entire life. Today I decided to give it one more try and ordered the ackee and saltfish. However, the salt was missing from the cod. It had absolutely no flavour whatsoever. It was just straight up nasty. Also had pieces of bone in the fish, which made it annoying to eat. Boneless fish is not that much more expensive. I don’t mean to be harsh, but this place is not REAL Jamaican food.
