Called about my bill. Staff is knowledgeable and was able to explain in terms I understood. This was the first time I called. Excellent experience!

During mid September 2022, a unit representing Alectra, came and made some work on our neighbourhood (replacing the generator)
Since then, after finishing this job, they left some equipment on our front-yard and never came back to pick up.
Address is 155 Grand Valley Blvd and 33 Manda Drive, both on Maple, Ontario
I have tried to call Alectra many times but cant get in touch with someone responsible for that
Please come and pickup your staff, winter is coming and the snow will cover them,

Worst utility company. Talked to couple customer service people, they keep telling you that your issue will get fixed and turned out it’s all lies. They eventually called me and told me the solution provided before does not count.

Absolutely crazy over charges. Take no responsibility for their services blame building management even though they have nothing to do with it I would never recommend this company. Their customer service people and management make no effort to resolve issues and are still over charging many many tenants

We have now received 3 automated phone messages saying our hydro will be off between 9am and 10am on 3 different days. The first 2 have proven to be bogus. Next week's is now a wait and see. Why a large company like this can't get their act together I have no idea. Attempted to ask customer service but they had no idea what I was talking about. SURPRISE! Not. Hoping someone reads this and after next week we don't heat from them again. Summer is not the time to mess with people's power. Very Annoyed Customer

Very high delivery charges. Same amount electricity as my friends get from other companies, but I get charged twice as high. Other companies charge “delivery” only first time during account set up only, this one is monthly. So happy leaving this apartment soon and building.

I've been a customer of Alectra since 2017. Recently, I moved to Newmarket, where my utility provider needed a reference letter. My first call with Alectra took longer than expected to get through. The CSR had given me a one week time period before I would get this letter. A week later I called again and was told that it was just assigned to an agent and require 5 business days. Almost two weeks later, nothing. I called again and the CSR (Thanks Thea) took 1 minute to put this together and emailed it to me. I don't understand why the first two CSRs couldn't have done that for me.

Unscheduled power service failure Feb 18 2021 for 7-8 hrs and customer service had no knowledge of this and would not compensate lost of heat, no internet so NO work was able to do and spoilage of food in fridge.
Customer service was terrible and non caring.just really unprofessional

SCAM and garbage customer service. Agents hang up their phone as soon as you start talking about inflated price on your bill. Alectra utilities started to charge me double with the same consumption of electricity. When I asked them why they said that is how much you consume. Liers. I consume the same amount from month to month. What they do is extortion. You have no choice you have to pay the amount they want

What a greedy garbage company. Their customer service hung up my call abruptly. Moreover, when I asked for an utilities reference letter, they are charging me $15 after 10+ years of customer history. I wish I give them zero or minus star.

Mis-quoting and overpriced.

I have had many splitting services in Toronto. Karma as well as Provident, while they are all expensive, Alectra (Powerstream) is by far the worst. I have had my HVAC off for the entire month of October, and somehow I still have $33 on my bill just for that. I have a small 1 bedroom Apt and my utilities have been around $115-$130 per month, and I am not even working from home.

I lived in a two bedroom apt with two thermostats for 1.5 years, and our electricity bill was never over $100.

I will be contacting the better business business bureau.

Worst customer service anywhere - an hour on hold every time you call and get no results so you likely have to call back absolutely disgusting!

Did panel upgrade and called them for reconnection. It took them over 6 hours to show up and put back meter. Nonsense, they have one crew for 3 cities (Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan)

Powerstream Energy is a poorly run company. Customer service is nonexistent. It's quite obvious from other reviews that it's not just me.

On 8Sep2020 I was ar Walmart at Hwy 400 and Major Mackenzie store, many witnessed a couple of power fluctuations, would need to know if alectra was responsible for the it or was it Walmart? This is important since many of us including me find equipment and bulbs in our homes being blown since last 1-2 months. In that case I have 2 questions.
1. Is there any regulatory authority watching this, or are they running department in on autopilot and staying home due to covid?
2. If this is true Alectra needs to notify so affected can claim from property insurance.

Just horrible customer service. After being put on a hold for over 30 minutes the calls gets disconnected often. They also have an absolute joke of an automated system. Been their customer for years and have been very unsatisfied with their services and customer service for many years now. Will try to look at other options to avoid dealing with this company. There are no zero stars rating cause I would've given them that. What a rip off of a company.

My House had flickering lights since I moved into a new house in July. After a few failed appliance / Electronics - ALECTRA the Power company confirmed my house WAS NOT GROUNDED PROPERLY. Looks like Platinum Electric and Great Gulf Homes failed to provided a properly grounded house and after a failed attempt to fix it - they are saying its something they WONT FIX. See photo from the utility company's third test.

Anyone else have these issues with GREAT GULF PM me!

I give this 2 star review because ofa couple things. First off, I'm provided power. Secondly
It rarely goes out and when it does it's fixed quickly. That saves it from a 1* rating.
However. The inibility to speak to a human being after 430 is completely unacceptable. I came home to a letter that required immediate attention. But like most people I am not home work from well past then. I have done everything on my part to rectify the problem however I cannot contact a single human being to confirm everything is on the up-and-up. Would it be so hard to employ a couple staff to answer after hours billing calls. It seems very strange to leave people in limbo

Had a 5 hour power outage on the weekend, loss of peak business no compensation, even though paid every bill on time. Very poor by Alectra Utilities

Moving to new home few blocks away. On 4th call. Either they are untrained, not that bright or deliberately screwing with me.

Told Thornhill not in their service area.
Told they couldn't find new address (house is 12 yrs old)
Told they have no record of my previous calls

I WISH I could choose another provider. Now I will be forced to waste another hour & 30 days waiting for pre-auth payment plan to work.

Just garbage.

If I can give them a ZERO.no not even a Zero. A MINUS Zero for there horrible customer service, I would give them that. My family and friends have been a customer of Alectra Utilities for 13+ years and didn't have a problem until recently. The sent a notice saying we didn't pay last month when we did. I call the company just to find out that when we switch the person's name in charge of the bills they have been taking our money for the past 7months in the old account but DID NOT say anything or even send us a notice that maybe.you haven't paid for the past 7months? I called 3-4 times and every person that I called to fix the issues right sounds annoyed and don't even want to comprehend what the customer says. I ask why they didn't send a notice of that and they said they did. So you are telling me that you could send the bill payment to me every month but can't send a notice? They say that it is postal service fault and my fault? WHAT. Postal service screw up 7months? I don't think so. All they had to do was transfer the amount of payments made to the old acct number to the new but they say you need to call bank investigation line which I did and bank says why don't they just transfer the money instead of wasting everyone's time? Horrible horrible service. I am complete shock with Alectra.

Sick and tired of harassing phone calls. Made arrangements and 11 calls in less than 24 hours. Worst utility company ever.

Worst company to deal with. Won't get simple requests correct and penalize the customers for their own mess and issues.
