Ali's No Frills

My electric bike was stolen here. I was only able to find the broken lock of my bike, which I had locked at a busy time. And there's not even a camera! Security normal welcomed! Never trust here! Never let go of your stuff, even if it's locked! Because you don't care!

Prompt response and good service. Grocery prices matched with other stores. I love to buy the grocery from Ali's No Frills.

They never have anything in stock! They don’t restock promptly. Customer service is okay. Parking is available, it’s at a plaza.

Best No Frills in this area. Previous owner Mr Dickie was immaculate as so was his store. Sold it to Ali who has improved the set up. Clean.regular staffers.only down side.very busy especially Thursday when new flyer starts. Solution.shop off peak like 3pm when school comes out.

I never liked shopping here because before self-checkout I'd always have to pay with a cashier. That's obvious however they were so rude, gave cut eye and didn't greet, ask if I found everything today (even if they actually don't care). They actually gave a face that didn't care. I stopped going there for a long time because the cashiers were very unfriendly.

I recently started going during covid. I'd say I'd probably trust to buy my produce here. Boxed items I will buy from Walmart because they are very competitive with their prices.

All in all it's an ok location. I always choose self check out. I can't deal with the cashiers. I have my own attitude lol

It is a very big store. Quality of food is usually good. There is a seperate seafood and meat section in the store.

They say the rices are the lowest, but you gotta be careful, you could get a lot of those things for cheaper at other stores, even Walmart

I've been going to the store for the last 21 years and I fight excellent even when Mr dickey owned it God rest his soul but Ali at the time was a song boy when he first started there and now 21 years later he's the owner of it which is very impressive to me and I'm thankful that he's my friend I find it the best store ever especially with the produce.

Super busy in the mornings! Avoid Sundays at all costs lol, unless Boxing Day madness is your kinda jam at the grocery store.

A bit of madness in that the location is always busy but it has a wonderful selection of food and quite a large location. It has become one of my fave No Frills in the city. You have to go through the mall to get to the entrance but riding the cart down the ramp like a child when you’re leaving makes up for any annoyance that may create.

Store is always clean and attendants are friendly. Great prices, easy experience. Love the self checkout. Wish bags were easier to get. Perhaps they could manage a way to have some carts kept inside the store instead of always downstairs and outside.

The store itself is great, but one bad staff member can easily ruin your whole experience. The young man directing people to checkouts this evening did not try to hide his frustration at all, rolled his eyes at customers, and said "oh my god" before tossing a basket on the ground. Not professional at all.

Hope that someone in management can respond to my query.

Walked into the store today to grab a few items, not finding any clean groccery baskets, I asked a store employee for assistance. Thier response was that we are out of them right now and that I can grab some wipes that are present outside the store and clean one myself.

So my question is, is this the norm, that if a customer requires a clean basket that the customer is required to grab wipes and clean it themselves?

The quality of the produce has significantly dropped since Ali bought it from Dickie. I would suggest going to the no frills at Victoria park and Lawrence. Half of the time there is rotten produce on display, or you discover the fruit is rotten when you get home. You need to pay attention in the store with all purchases

This No Frills location is awesome for you can find so much variety of products at affordable prices. Also their selection of international food is helpful instead of going in other places, kind of one stop shopping in terms of food purchases you put on the table. I like, enjoy every time I drop by because I live downtown. Explore it so what I am talking about.

I like this store. Clean with good service and good varieties. The reason I put 4 stars though is due to the fact that there are times (especially on Saturdays) when the line to the cashiers is so long that it goes more than half circle around the store, while the self-service lane is closed (intentionally or not?). Today was a good example.

The store varieties are great.
They need to work on prices, competitors have better prices.
The employees 50% are excellent customer service providers, the others are.not great.
More training to better serve various needs (including lack of pricing tags)

Love this place for the fresh trout available here! Seen a few different variety of fish here right from king fish, shark, mackarels, sardines, and more.

Great place for groceries. But definitely has scope for improvement on the Hallal meat section and South Asian choices of groceries. But nevertheless all the way 5star because of price comparison and overall variety of products.

There was alot of people but they were prepared enough to handle the volume of the customers they have

One of the better No Frills store that I have been to in Toronto. Very spacious and plenty of parking.

This is one of the best No Frills I have been to. Produce is fresh, variety of meat and also counters for seafood and meat. It is spacious and clean and the best part is availability of Indian food at cheap cost. I was super excited to purchase Jalebi recently. Its an Indian delicacy which I did not find anywhere else and had it after 3 years since I moved to Canada. It really made my day. Cheap thrills at No Frills

The only thing that is frustrating is buying the salad boxes. They have not been good.they are to wet so a lot of the lettuce is rotten

My wife shops at this store all the time and it is great for selection and value. That said, today we found out just how special the staff are. My wife had her cart taken while shopping in the produce section when she walked away from it for 1 minute. It was no where to be found. Inside the black reusable grocery bags were her iPhone, car keys, and credit cards. An employee named Mohamed stepped up and helped her search while making sure it did not leave via the front door. They looked everywhere and it just could not be found. Obviously someone was pushing it around for half an hour. Strange but it finally turned up. Mohamed and the other employees were obviously very busy but helped and supported my very distressed wife to the best of their abilities. Thank you SO MUCH to Mohamed and the other helpful employees at Ali's No Frills.:)

Not too busy for a Friday of a long weekend. As we walked in we overheard staff saying there was a huge lineup prior, but we had no trouble walked right in got everything we needed. It wasn't crowded wasn't busy period interestingly, as we left there was another big long line. Maybe the crowds parted just for us LOL

I absolutely hate coming here. I find the customers you come across in the store just ignorant. They ignore social distancing. There is a lot of non mask wearing customers. Several employees don't wear masks properly. They wear it with their nose exposed. I only come here for prescriptions now and I drive to a different No Frills for groceries.

I can't remember the black lady's name but she went above and beyond to switching a damaged product to getting us a new one. The cashiers and stock staff are so friendly and treat customers like family ️

To much plastic please try to invest into biodegradable bags to place produce in and packaging and/or the ability to purchase reusable cloth grocery bags

Relatively clean store, given the conditions of some other No frills locations.

Always seem to be out of lead flyer items (salmon and pork loin this time - day two of the weekly flyer!). Getting a rain check is a pain.

At least they've added the self checkouts and it's still only a quarter for the carts.

I like this location. Good prices and good hrs. Lots of prkg. Big store with clean bright aisles, well staffed, convienent self check outs Lg freah meat, fruit and veg.depts.

Beautiful store since it's been renovated. I like the fact that they added self scan at this location. Good assortment of product as well.

In my personal opinion this is one No Frills location that is actually stocked up on essentials. However some cashiers can use customer service and humanity skills and training

A lit of items on sale not on the shelves. One would think that the staff would ensure they prepare for the afternoon crowd. Line at the cash registers were way too long. It seems they're not prepared for ppl coming in after work

I hardly shop at no frills but when I do they are cheaper than food basic and I love the fact that u can get a box of leg quarter for $18. I met a black girl all dolls up I ask her for Ammonia and I really thought she was gonna say they don’t have and walk away but she actually went with me to look but there was none

Spacious and clean. Wide variety of meat, fish, fruit veggie and dairy. Pricing is great. Love their Breadfruit and the Taiwanese Guava. Lots of parking. Friendly staff. Self check out is now available. Great location.

This is the best no frills in Toronto. We travel from Coxwell/ Gerrard area to shop at this location. No frills close to us at Carlaw/Gerrard is not good, always out of stock, very rude staff and really rude owners. But Ali's no frills is the best, I approached the owner and he answered me and helped me. Always full of stock. I spoke one of the employees named Michelle, she was very helpful. Very nice staff. I have too many good words for this store. Thank you for serving us with dignity.

It was good it was pretty clean they were busy stocking shelves a little tight in the produce Isles 4 buggy passing other than that a good place to shop lots of parking Burger King's right across the street Tim Hortons is in the mall across the street and there's a Value Village at the end of the parking lot great for the family outing

It's ok actually.average. Ami went there 2 times in between 2 weeks for Twistos baked snack bites permesan n garlic flav cookie. My son like this cookie very much. But i couldn't get this cookie. 2 times i went there and the shelf was absolutely empty. I m so disappointed for this. Before i was quite liked this store.

Love my no frills, there are 4 in the area and this one is exceptional. Staff, cleanliness and stock is always fantastic

Great that they finally have self checkout but they don’t do price matching so better to go to Superstore down the road.they have more selection and do price matching at self checkout.

One of the better NoFrills stores in the area. Pretty big and fairly clean. They added a few self checkout stations recently which is a big plus for me.

I like this branch mostly I can get what i need since the branch is a bit bigger than the near No frills store in my place.

One of the largest No Frills ive been in, lots of veriety and located in a little mall including government offices, a bank of Nova Scotia and more.

Large location with plenty of parking space; an underground parking garage and a wheelchair accessible ramp. The aisles are wide and well labelled. I often have trouble finding some items on special and some workers (no names) tell me that some specials don't even make it to the supermarket on day one!
Nevertheless; regardless of why Dickie sold it to the new owners; it was also often hard to find the weekly food specials during his time of ownership. Fresh produce and dairy products. I think the new owners are doing their BEST to keep up with strong customer demands.

This was our go to No Frills location. It's located in the Golden Mile plaza. Parking is ok but it can be a hassle finding spots close to the entrance. The supermarket is located in the main building, up the ramp/stairs to the left corner (adjacent to the Dollar store). Be sure to grab your shopping cart by the mall entrance as it is quite a trip back from the supermarket if you forget.

The supermarket is clean and the product selection is good, especially the rather large produce section.

It can get busy but there are usually enough checkout lanes open so that things keep flowing.
