Allan A. Martin Public School

I’ve been to this school for three years and when i tell u the staff only care about themselves, they are rude for no reason sometimes and always try to find ways to get students in trouble. This school alone is just bad you could walk down the hall and a colony of ants will just be next to a piece of gum. They got security cameras because of the people making graffiti on their walls and some how still cant find anything but will find someone who drew a star on the stall in the bathrooms. Teachers are disrespectful towards other teachers and students, in my 14 years of life i have never met a teacher that can’t mind their business for the life of them. They love to try and keep a reputation and will favourite those kids to make their reputation even stronger. The Ibts are more liked then the mainstream students and are treated way differently, there are teachers that would spend an entire class talking about how horrible the class they’re teaching is infront of the students. Every attempt at making the school better is only for the reputation, the people here are very irresponsible and if I could give this school 0 stars I would. Theres way more things that this school is bad at but these r just a few of the things.

Extremely amazing teachers.and all of them where respectful and nice to me.the students are a whole nother story, extreamly rude especially the 8th grades.i promis to be a role model for the 7th grades next year and not a bully.i feel like the school sets you up for success once you leave and it was still an amazing exprience

At Allan A Martin I feel very included by the teachers and students. The teacher push us to be the best we could be.

I've seen kids feel anxiety or something when they come to school or hear "Test" And it's because this school helped putting this in there Mind.

This one time a couple of students were selected for a special IBT project and one of them was kicked out of the project becuz they didn't delete their bad review of the school.

I graduated from this school a few years ago and the teacher were super nice, supportive and helpful! But that’s it. The school it’s self mainly focuses on the IBT program which is fine but the local students get pushed aside because of that, and because of all the extra support and resources that the IBT’s get they often become entitled and rude to the other students, thinking that they are better. Now that years have passed since I went to Allen A Marten a lot of my former classmates have gotten in to drugs, skip class a lot and overall are just not successful academically. Yes correlation is not causation but students from other middle school are doing much better on average.

I love the end-of-the-year projects (Trade Show, Food Truck, Beyond Me) and the school atmosphere is also nice since it has a ton of free fields and open space!

The staff here are wonderful, very welcoming, very helpful. My child feels at home and is very happy going here.

I went here for the international business and technology program and I think the school is amazing. The teachers are students are really supportive and inclusive with lots of accepting groups including a GSA club. The teachers also are aware of student mental health and are always open to talk to if you’re having a hard time. The technology has definitely improved from the three years I’ve been there with new technology always filling the school. Every classroom has access to technology to access their work. Work wise the school is also friendly in allowing you to work effectively with lots of rooms around the school for students to focus. If you are attending this school for the program it really gives you a feeling of running a business with lots of projects to help you in addition to selling a product - yourself - as a self-built company. I do agree with others in the reviews when they say the bathrooms aren’t the best but I do think the school will change this really soon as we have many projects to show how and why you would change about the school, and with many students referencing the bathroom, I think they will renovate them. Moreover, the workload for an IBT student is alright but can be stressful when you don’t use your time effectively, but like I said the teachers do account for your mental health and are flexible with extensions if necessary. You make great friends at Allan a Martin and is a great school to attend.

In my opinion, not so great. The bathrooms smell like vape and the kids are always cursing, fight etc. Some teachers cannot handle classes and let students roam around. Has potential but the staff need to get it together

Great teachers and school. They all seem to care and go out of their way to make sure I'm doing well.

This school is very good, especially the IBT Program. In the IBT program you do lots of fun projects such as Beyond Me, Food Truck, Trade Show, and the Film Festival. The classrooms are good sized and there are lots of technology all around the school in the classrooms, and especially the LLC and the LAB. The best part about this place is the teachers, they are hard workers, mark things quickly, and give challenging work to help students succeed and prepare them for the future. The school has improved a lot since I've got here, from making things safer, to just making sure the students happy. I would highly recommend this school and if you can, try to get into the IBT program.

This School is amazing, It is welcoming and kind. The staff are amazing, Just the right mix between Laid back and Strict. There are soo many extra curricular activity's that their's litterally one for everyone. The school has amazing tech. The discorvery period was a great addition, It allows kids to pursue fields that they are interested in and be with kids that they normally won't be in class with. Great school

Allan A is great! I love the unique projects they give to the Ibt's and how they challenge us everyday:) I mean sure there are some issues but every school has their problems. I have come to the thinking that their are multiple issues that need to be fixed but essentially a great school.

Teachers are sometimes passive aggressive and the curriculum is not for everybody. Even the iep’s.also no freedom of speech my friend was forced to change his review and one of the teachers is anti LGBTQ+

Allan A Martin is a great school! The teachers are really kind. I just love Allan A! There are many clubs, (that I enjoy) :) Though the bathrooms problem. There are many tech for everyone. Over all allan a is a great school

This is a good school i guess, some of the classes are a little bit too dry and the bathrooms need some renovation but other than that, it's way better than the elementary i was in

Bruhhhhhhhhhh, this school is the best.the teachers are really nice and give us good projects.all clubs are here, like chessclub, art club and many more.if anyone wants to experience a cool middle school, this is the one

This place is really good, and all the teachers there are really welcoming and nice at Allan A. Martin! I would definitly recommend this school to a friend!

The school is great and the IBT program is beyond amazing, technology is every where. The school has a few things they need to work on but overall the school is very big and the teachers are fair and kind. The washrooms need a little bit of work and the gym is not too big but overall the school is very good. The IBT program has many opportunities for the kids learn about business (beyond me, food truck, trade show etc.)

This school is probably one of the best in Ontario, its top notch, teachers are pretty good, IBT program is 11/10 and so on best school i've been to. Although the staff could do better on the swearing.

I'm a student here, and from both reviews and a few experiences, I have to say I have pretty mixed feelings. Granted, some negative reviews are exaggerations, but some actually do have a point. I have two problems. First, minimal attention is payed to the bathrooms, however I wouldn't say they look filthy, and another problem is that IBT students have much higher expectations behaviourally. I get that it's a special program, and you have higher expectations, but you have to realise that on the inside we're all just bratty kids.

This school is top notch. Every day I learn more and more. I knew It was good but not this good. The teacher really have a background of what they teach and really know there stuff. I recommend this school and the IBT program personally to any future students.

Kind of a meh school. It isn't a school I regret going to, but I probably won't find any amazing moments of my life here.

There are grade eights making out behind the school, in the bushes, in the hallways. Also, so far, four kids have been suspended, and four kids broke down in almost unison and started crying in math class from the 13 hours of homework we have. It's like our teachers think they are the only subject we have. Send help. There are so many fights, and you have grade six girls flirting with the grade eight guys. The teachers don't seem to care, and it would be great if they actually read our reviews and understood why all us grade eights seem depressed out of our minds. Send help. I wish I could give it no stars, but rules are rules. Hey, you know that trip you were all super excited to go on? Nope! You get stuck with the bratty grade sixes, and now we have to share our only trip with them? ARE YOU MENTAL? Also, the large caf is full to bursting with kids, and the teachers keep shoving more and more kids in there, and the grade six IBTs act like their queens and kings when back in my day we actually had to share with the mainstreams, and the school could have tried harder not to find the most annoying kids possible. I'm done. If you are considering coming here, I wouldn't recommend it. Please, for your child's sake, send them somewhere else. Not here, anywhere but here.

-A message from a grade eight to the parent of a grade six/five

My daughter posted a review yesterday and it appears it was removed 24 hours after being posted. The post was tastefully composed without any reasons to hide it. I do hope the school is not afraid of truth being uncovered. This does not surprise me too much because many questions I asked were only shunned away as “privacy issues”. I didn’t like what I saw by midyear of grade 8 but my daughter asked to complete the year at the school.
She presented her amazing Trade Show product (IBT students) & graduated with a stellar report card, with very nice memories. I, however, as a parent was disappointed many times especially by the end of the year when the grade 8 Trade Show & June events carried on. The covering up, lack of honesty, and mishandling of issues tarnished my opinion. All in all, my daughter enjoyed her time at AAM; that is what is most important.

They have a great IBT program. I believe they want more outsiders than the neighborhood students.

Horrible school. The teachers drain the money of us I. B. T.students and it goes straight to the mainstreams. The mainstreams in this school are damn retarded. I came to Allan A Martin expecting a better school, and kind and supporting teachers. Instead I got teachers who criticized me for every single small error. Like wtf? The teachers are sexist and racist. The schools vice principal was in the GIRLS WASHROOM with two grade 8 girls. He acts like a complete sexist and pisses me off. Most of my friends would agree about this. The only good teacher in this school is Mr. Hay. I respected him and he respected me and all other students. But honestly. I hate all the teachers, principal, and the vice principal. At least the two office ladies, and janitor are nice. To conclude: DON"T GO HERE!
