It was one of the saddest and darkest days for our family but they took great care of Lady, and explained everything to us as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge they treated us with great respect and dignity, (we were a large group and so very emotional).

I’ve been going here for years with my dog and cat and Dr. Lechten is fantastic! She truly cares about your pets well being and she’s always so kind. She’s contacted me on her time off to check on my dog twice which blew my mind, most places would get someone else working to do it so I really appreciate her!

They can't help you or refer you anything unless you book an appointment. This is only vet clinic I've delt with in Barrie that won't help you unless you're paying for an appointment. I'll never use this clinic for that reason.

Best Veterinarian around. Having a teacup chihuahua, they are very careful and treat him remarkable. With him never going out alone, they were honest about what vaccinations he really doesn't need. It didn't cost an arm and leg for unnecessary vaccines or tests.

I had to rush my cat in for Kidney issues. They took me as soon as they opened. I was treated with kindness and compassion, not just from the doctors but the whole staff, in general. They really give you a warm, welcoming family vibe as soon as you enter their doors. The diagnostic tests were done forthwith and medication prescribed. I could not be happier with allandale veterinary Hospital. If I could give them more stars than five I would because they deserve it. This office is very friendly. I arrived for my appointment a day early as I got the timings mixed up. They were able to fit me in. It was a very busy place the staff and the vet were great.

I have been bringing my dogs & cats here for over 4 years, we are so blessed to have found such a great place to care for our animals. Dr Stephanie & Dr Paul are the best! The entire team has always gone above and beyond for our pets.no matter what time of the day/night! They are thorough, have always shown care and concern, and I feel so at ease knowing that if and when we need them, are always available!

Still one of the few vets still forcing masks - do not honour exemptions - I would give this vet the time of day.

Staff was excellent and the vet too was great. Mostly because his wife is Irish and working there as well.

Was originally referred here from a friend. After some research even being an hour away from me I just had to visit. Look no further please. From the most loving, caring and of course smartest vets I have ever met it doesn’t just stop there. I’ve never witnessed a full staff with the same intention across the board. From reception to pharmacy and veterinarians to assistants. Extra special thank you to Dr Lechten and Natalie who operated on my French bulldog Kobe a couple years back. The whole Allandale team are true angels and any animal lover will know it the moment you step foot inside their state of the art facility. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do. We love you!

Our French Bulldog had palate surgery and spayed. Every thing was successful. Staff was caring and professional and for a change the prices were sensible!

The boarding side of things is ridiculous and completely lowered my rating of thos place. Constantly asking for your number to call you back and never do. 2 weeks of this.ask for manager to call back so that they can understand this is happening.yeah still waiting.

Have always had good experience with the Veterinarians. Dr. Ryerse was knowledgeable with my questions on dental.
Had to come back one week later because my Potatoes was having a flare up, she has IVDD and was pleasantly surprised and relieved when Dr. Ryerse offered to refill my prescription even though I got it somewhere else and didn't charge me for a visit since I was there last week with a physical for pup.
My other vet charged me for every visit regardless if refill or not and it wasn't under $100 plus pay $20 for them to write the prescription.
I'm grateful for all my positive experiences as of late at Allandale, I must've been in shock that I walked out dazed and forgot to pay for my prescription luckily son reminded me and when I ran in and apologized they were so nice about it.
I can see why the employees are happy here, the atmosphere is welcoming and compassionate and of course they're not nickel and diming you for everything!
Got my written rx to get at Costco cheaper and wasn't duped into paying extra at clinic

Place is spacious, clean, friendly, lots of staff, they even have a seahorse aquarium in the back.so many feel goods today and everyday from here on in at this new "home"

The staff were amazing, despite our reason for our visit. May our sweet Izzy forever live in their reviews. Staff were very helpful and explained each step of the procedure. Let us have our time to prepare for each step of the way.

I've been going to Allandale Vet since October 2018 and every visit has been great. Their staff are extremely friendly and easy to deal with. Scheduling is quick and easy as well. My dog and I see Dr. Manesis and he's wonderful to work with.

Luckily I've only had to bring my girl in once but I will say with the utmost confidence that I will only bring my girl here if she requires a visit to the vet.
The team here was unbelievably kind and showed my 5 year old Rottweiler nothing but love and reassurance. Unfortunately due to covid I wasn't allowed to go in with her but she didn't need me! She willingly went with the vet tech, her visit went well, they kept me informed over the phone and when they brought her out she was happy! She didnt want to leave! The girls were so good to her! This place was recommended to me and I'm I'm grateful that it was! Thank you for taking care of my sweet girl when I couldn't!

I drove all the way from Toronto for the first 34 months of my puppies vaccines and this place this location is fantastic from the veterinary doctor right down to the staff there amazing. It was worth the drive.

Although it’s sometimes frustrating to get through on the telephone to them I put that aside. Dr Stephanie Pierre from there is worth all that and more. She takes her time and touches all the bases with any thing to do with your pet and doesn’t rush you out the door. That was most appreciated the last time as we’re moving out of the province and getting the boys up to date on everything. We even talked about family stuff while I was there. She helped us with medication to take the boys on a 4 day drive so they wouldn’t have to fly. It is with sadness unfortunately that we won’t be seeing her again but will always remember how kind and helpful she was. If you need a vet I would tell you with 100%honesty to go there.

The breeder of my dog went to Allandale so I wanted to continue with the same vet, but it turned out to be a big mistake. At the beginning my experience was ok. I was warned by others that their experience was poor at Allandale, but I decided to see for myself, and trust Allandale. Time and time again, the people who warned me proved to be right. Unfortunately it seems that Allandale only cares about the profit, and takes on way too many clients that they do not have the capacity nor the staff to handle. On multiple occasions, I would wait in the car for over half an hour just to speak with someone to let them know I arrived to pick up my pet’s food, or that I was here for an appointment, and to even book an appointment or to order food you would also be placed on hold for copious amounts of time before someone would answer. I found that Allandale truly did not take the time to get to know my pet and were judgmental, but I believe if they didn’t take on so many clients and allotted more time to see the pets and be patient with them, then maybe it would be a better environment for them, especially for the anxious ones. What frustrated me the most is the lack of communication between the staff members. On numerous occasions I would speak to different staff who each told me a different thing, nothing was ever concrete. Do not go there if your dog has reactive behaviours or are anxious, because they will tell you to put the dog down. We have actually transferred to another vet and couldn’t be happier, and what a surprise my dog is a completely different dog and enjoys going there and doesn’t shake entering the clinic. I would suggest staying away. It was also a huge red flag to me that they cannot keep any staff and are always hiring (what does that tell you?)

I have a bunny - which makes it 20 times more difficult to find a good vet. There are very few vets in Ontario that handle exotic pets, and even less close to me. So I was very happy to find this vet clinic! The staff just seem to love seeing my bun when she comes in, and they recognize her immediately now and share a laugh over her name - she's called Attila. Attila the Bun.
The first time I went in was just for a meet and greet and wellness check, and they were wonderful! And far less expensive than I was expecting, given my choice of exotic pet. And they threw in a nail trim for free, which was fantastic.
Since then, I've had her in over concerns about her pee habits - I thought maybe she was peeing too much, and they didn't laugh me out of there, but took my concerns seriously. Turns out there was nothing wrong, but they really worked hard to get me solid answers.
The most recent time I've had her in was for an abscess in her jaw. Turned out that she needed surgery. I had read about this, and was thoroughly expecting to pay between 2 and 3 thousand for the surgery. That's what everyone online said these surgeries cost. All in, with medications, surgery, check up and everything, I was only out about $700. I was floored! It was such a reasonable price to pay to get my little girl back on her feet. And they did the post surgery checks free of charge, which is something I have NEVER experienced at any other vet anywhere! I will most definitely be continuing with this clinic - best experience I've ever had with a vet since I left my favorite vet in Texas.
Special shout out to Dr. Castelo - she has been so patient with me and all my questions and concerns. She's more than happy to help me understand my first exotic pet!

Sadly, puppies get older and inevitably get sick. Sometimes far too soon. The end of life care was professional and comforting. The staff are truly wonderful here.

After a lot of research in a hospital that would perform surgery on my dog, I finally chose Allandale which I can say was a big mistake. I read all the reviews and decided that this was the perfect place to go because of how kind the staff were. I had been emailing and sending pictures of the complication my dog was having with a doctor and she told me that the surgery could be done. After driving two hours to get to the appointment I was told they did not have an appointment for my dog. The girls at the front were very rude and they did not even seem to care about my dog. When I showed them the emails I had with the doctor they started to prep my dog for surgery and when I asked for the consult I was told I would be getting I received attitude because "normally surgery is just a drop off and you don't meet the doctor". Finally, I was put into a room for the consultation and was then told that the surgery wouldn't be done (even though the doctor had seen the problem and the girls had already begun prepping my dog). Allandale does not provide what they say they do, don't waste your time.

We had our first appointment with our fantastic new vet this morning. Dr Angie Castelo is a wonderful, caring, compassionate veterinarian who I highly recommend. She helped me say goodbye to my elderly pug with warmth and kindness. She took care of my kitten’s and my older cat’s shots this morning. The whole team of professionals were great! Love this place. HIGHLY recommended. Best vet in Barrie by far.

There is nothing that I hold more dear to me than my pets and there’s no one I trust more than Dr.   Patricia Lechten. The compassion all staff has shown to my girls even during regular check up  is something I appreciate more than I could ever express. I truly tried to like Allandale but I had terrible experiences in all three of my encounters there all with different pets. I believe they are driven by volume and costs. I won’t get into the whys but trust me when I say keep looking. I was not going to even review them but I got a call from them yesterday regarding my 22 year old Siamese cat that they euthanized a year in September. The call was basically come and pick up your cats paw print or we will be discarding it in one week. Maybe they could have mailed it or been more professional, caring or kind. But nope keeping in true Allandale fashion.

Very professional. The vet we dealt with is attentive and understanding. We switched from our old vet to Allandale without a second thought.

This is one of the best veterinary hospitals I have ever been too. Everyone is very welcome and professional. All of the vet techs are great and Dr. Lechten is the best veterinarian I have ever had.

If you are in the Barrie area and have a pet, take them to Allendale.

Made a appointment a month ago just to find out it was never made, also never returned my voice mail. So yah disappointed because you came very highly recommended.

This practice is all about money. They smile and say nice things but it's nothing but a ruse. Unless you're a well heeled, entitled person this place isn't for you.

I took our little dog Eddie there for the first time and it was great to see the way they treated our little buddy and many other dogs very well and efficiently. I will only be taking Eddie there from now on

Monday June 7 2021. I'm adding to my review. I have read others that say they would rather have your pet die than care for them. This was not true in my case. The donations the get helped my cat. There is however a few bad apples there with a bad attitude. That is everywhere. I take my cat to get her claws clipped. They do it for free but now that I have been working I make my donations to repay the kindness for when I couldn't pay. PLEASE, my cat is traumatized when I bring her. It takes about a week for her to fully recovery from the trauma. I can't till next time now, so I have to put her through this again. When this happens they get mad at me. They do it for free and the ones cutting nails are usually new and inexperienced. I get it, they have to start somewhere. But does no one follow up on their work. Or are they insulted by my reminder notes that the are abusing my cat to get at me? I know for fact most there are great but there are some real bad apples in there too. She is adopted and believed to had been abused so her fear is extreme. PLEASE cut her nails. She has extra toes. I send her in with letters asking to have them cut and not trimmed and remind them of her extra toes. They missed her extra toes the last time. I didn't complain or even say anything. So I added to this letter they are curled and poking her paw pads. They not only missed the curled ones but others as well. I feel so bad for her that I have to put her through it again in just a few days apart. The curled nails can't wait. She doesn't hiss, bite scratch. She s very still. Still because she scared as hell but still. There is no reason to miss nails. Like painting nails on a statue. Note: she is full on fight me at home with nails. She trust me and is confident that I wont hurt her if she rebels. But at the vets, she is a statue.

Smudge has spent a lot of time in and out of the vet over the last year.

He sees Dr. Lechten and he's not happy to be there I'm sure he's probably one of her more difficult patients. Everyone is good with him and understands he's scared and doesn't mean to be difficult.

I would like to thank Dr. Lechten and all the staff that have dealt with Smudge for being so good with him.

They are money hungry and dont care about you or your pet!
Pet owners I urge you do not trust them they lie! This has been not just a one time thing they have lied to me.

I switched over to them from another vet in Barrie as this place had such great reviews and I am so happy I did. The previous vet just wanted to sell sell sell and Allandale is not like that at all. I totally recommend this place.

No one will love your animal more than you, than these guys. Their care, devotion, understanding is beyond anything you could ever expect.

Great care for our babies. Friendly welcoming staff, clean environment. Free nail trimmings for clients with a food donation. Our pups love it and we were happy to switch from another local practice.

I recently brought my kitty to south barrie animal hospital in hopes of having some dental work done. I only had one appointment to have her blood work done to detmermine if she was in good health to go ahead with the procedure. IT WAS A TRAUMATIZING experience. So I made the decision to never return and to come here, to Allandale.

Allandale, was amazing. Everyone was kind and efficient and actually cared about my kitty. She was treated like a living being and was pet and loved while she was being looked over. They let me stay in the room while they did the blood work, which kept her calm and me very happy, as the other vet (south barrie) wouldn’t allow me to be there for the blood work and dragged her out of my arms and had to pin her down while I heard it all happening from behind the door! It was terrifying. So the fact that Allandale didn’t hesitate and even SUGGESTED I could be in the room while it happened, THRILLED ME! It was an amazing experience and I will 100% return and have all my kitty needs taken care of here.

I called on Thursday to have my cats medication renewed. They said it would be ready by noon today. Also who would be my pets new vet that was best suited for them. That didn’t happen either. Dr. Hauer was my vet and she just left and it’s like we are just trash now. Been there since 2007. So very disappointed and if this how we are going to be treated in the future we may just somewhere else.

Always a pleasure to bring my pup to Allandale. From veterinarian services to kennelling. Can’t ask for better care for our fur baby. They take the time to explain everything.

Absolutely incompetent. Can’t even send an email to help my family transfer files. Also recommended we buy ridiculously expensive equipment for an unnecessary reason. Also made us wait for about an hour and a half when we had made an appointment a week in advance. Do not recommend.

Take our small animals here (Guinea pigs). Reasonable rates to treat a cyst. And free nail trims because she is a client. Works for me.

I thought this was a great place. I'm sure it is. I'm sure the staff hate my cat. She is gentle. Never hisses or growls at them. The do what ever they need to, to her and she just lays there. I rescued her over 12 yrs ago, she was an abused cat. She was diagnosed with diabetes. At the worst time possible. Without spilling what my personal situation has been, one of the vets offered insulin. People donate to vets office to help pets. This saved my cats life. I have shared my story with people and they were touched by it that they started use their vet services for their own pets. I was very grateful. I gave the staff my name and phone # and offered any volunteer help.
They never called. But, the last time I called for an insulin prescription, they called me back and said never to call there again for her insulin. I was confused. She sounded angry and annoyed by me. She was in charge for the vet who told me to call who was out of the country at this time caring for animals as charity.
This vet really does care for animals.
It breaks my heart that I know there are great people here and yet what feels like malicious people as well.
No one called me to tell me otherwise. No fore warning. They never told me when I picked up her prescription prior of any changes. They were just mad when I called and not subtle about it.
I brought my cat in the other day for her annual, as I have to get the check up for the flea and tick treatment. All vets wont sell you flea and tick treatment unless they have a check up. I know this.
It was like hey were waiting for me though.it was strange and cold.
As soon as I walked in the door. The reception looked at me and said 'Is this Paws". (Not hello or anything). They were waiting for me. She rushed me immediately into a room. A vet I have never seen before came in. She spent a minute with my cat. That was my cats check up. They brought the weight scale in the room. They never done that before. They sent someone in to cut her claws. They brought in her flea and tick treatment. Then they brought in her bag of food. I'm getting negative feeling. Very impersonal. Then they brought the bill for the visit into the room. Then they brought the debit machine into the room for me to pay for it. I received a form for the cost it will be for my cat to have blood test for her sugar levels. Then what the cost is for he vets suggestion to have my cats kidneys and stuff tested for routine check up. I was rushed out.
Usually, my visits go like this
I need to go to the front desk and tell them my cat is there. They look on the computer to confirm my appointment. They have me put my cat on the weight scale while still in her carrier.once in a room, they take the empty cat carrier out of the room to weigh it separately. They take the cat to the back to cut her claws. The bring me my flea and tick treatment. After the appointment I go to the desk in the back where they go on the computer and print out my bill and where I pay for it and pick up my food.
Me getting yelled at was strange and why so much hate is strange but it was the creepiest visit. They rushed me in and out of there s fast and made sure i was not anywhere else in the clinic was the strangest. They hate my cat. Don't care if she dies. Probably hate me because my cat got insulin that saved her life. What happens the next time I go. They gonna cut her claws outside the back of the building! I really like this place but there is one person there on a personal crusade to ensure my cat is not cared for. I invite anyone to meet my cat. If I or my cat did something wrong I should have be told, not yelled at or treated like an intruder. I'm sorry my cat needed insulin and I accepted.

Dr. Keeffe is fantastic. Their dog boarding service is also amazing - well priced and they take amazing care of your pups.

Great service no doubt. I have been with this vet over 10 years I have had no issues other then cost. Yes great service always comes with a cost. I do get this. But when is comes to every visit being more expensive then any other vet over and over again I feel like I am getting taking advantage of. SO I STRONGLY RECOMMEND DOING PRICE QUOTES WITH OTHER VETS AROUND TOWN. You will be surprised in what you will fine out. I did call them to let them know about my concerns and after being a customer of theirs for over 10 years there was nothing they wanted to do other then saying good bye. I am a small biz owner my self and any customer of mine of 10 years leaving would hurt my feelings, I would try my best to keep them as customers.like the old saying says.throw a customer a bone once in away.any ways is was nice while it lasted.

I absolutely love this veterinarian office! Hands down the best there is. We keep moving further away but we keep coming back because not only do they have the best staff that provides the best care; but they also make sure to do it all for a fair price. I can't tell you how much I love this place & how relieved I am every time we bring our pets there. So if you're wanting a great vet with great people & fair and reasonable prices; go here. Once you do, you'll never bring them anywhere else. My only wish is that this review gave me an option for 10 stars instead of 5)

The very scary moment for the whole family.but you and your team were there to help and comfort and to give us more time with our Lily. From the moment we run in the hospital with Lily in my arms, without any appointment, every single stuff member were absolutely amazing! They took care of my dog (and me) so fast!

Dr. Forsyth acted quickly. Tests were done immediately. She gave us update on Lily as soon as she could, so we knew our dog is still alive. We now have hope and action plan going forward.

After being a dog owner for last 12 years, I am confident that this is the place I want my pet to be when they are in trouble.

I have been going to allandale vet for years with all my fur babies, they provide every thing you need and nothing you dont for your pets. Honset kind caring and love staff across the board. Wouldnt dream of leaving this wonderful practise!

Good service, my dog had an ACL surgery there. They take the time to explain every bit of the process and make sure you understand it well. Also do a follow up with you. The price is cheaper compare to most veterinarian in Ontario. I would totally recommend them.

As a dedicated pet owner Allandale has been my go to vet year years. Professional caring staff, exceptionally clean modern facilities. I've referred them to many of my own clients new to the area.
