Allenby Junior Public School

This is a very good school! The teachers here are amazing and teach very well. As a former student I would 100% recommend going here. The playground is very nice and the field is really good. You get 3 recesses (from when I went here) to play and take a break from learning. 2 of the recesses are 15 minutes long and you have a 30 minute recess after/before you have lunch. The teachers here are really nice and teach very well. If you're not understanding something they will be willing to help you anytime. They tolerate bullying very well at this school. They have sports teams for grades 4-6 such as soccer, swimming, track and field, etc. Amazing field trips that are very fun and educational at the same time. I wish I could have stayed here longer. Overall a very friendly and nice community, thanks for the great experience.:)

I was there when they went all the to grade 8. Just before Glenview Middle school opened. 1965?

There's 2 basketball nets there and small field and a playground. Good conditions. Locals like me go there to play basketball sometimes. It's an awesome community. 100% recommend

Allenby is situated in the Lawrence Park community. Its documented history dates back to the 1400's when a tribe of Huron Iroquois erected a longhouse village on the site. Modern-day development in the area led to the Toronto Board of Education deciding in 1926 to build a school. The school was named for Lord Edmund Allenby, one of Britain's foremost soldiers. Opened in 1931, Allenby was renovated and enlarged in 1972 and again in 1994. A graduation award in his honour, the Allenby Cup, is presented to two students each year who have demonstrated academic achievement, good character and leadership and active participation in school life.

My kids go here, not bad school wish they could keep them longer

It's an overcrowded elementary school. The French immersion program is the only one is a huge area so lots and lots of out of district kids.

Great field and playground with well maintained Astro turf and basketball courts. Also a nice track and wood chip filled playground.
