I had to do my first service on my BMW G310R. Called a few dealers, who quoted me $600+. Called a few shops around my place and they all recommended David at Alleycat. Called him and got an approximate quote for $200-$250. Reading the reviews I knew I was in good hands. Went there around 10am on Saturday and got a warm welcome from David. He said it's going to be about an hour and a half so I waited around. He was very informative throughout the whole process and very friendly. Answered every question I had. Took care of everything and explained the work order for warranty purposes. Highly recommend his services and would return for all my bike needs. Paid about $230 all in for the full service. Well worth it. He is a BMW master mechanic and knows his bikes.

P. S.his shop is at the back of 46. You have to access it through the alley at the back.

David is an excellent motorcycle mechanic. He might be a bit grumpy sometimes but hell, he's one of the best mechanics I have ever dealt with in this town. He doesn't sugarcoat anything but he does get the job done proficiently.

Had a big issue with my rear brake. David fixed it like a champ! So happy I came here and I won't go anywhere else for service. Better than BMW dealer.

Dave is great. Keeps his shop and equipment clean and working. Prices are very reasonable. Knows his BMW and Ducati as well as other motorcycles. Book ahead.
EDIT: Still my trusted mechanic for my beloved BMW and Ducati.

David is knowledgeable and friendly. I just happened to come across his shop as it's close to my house and went recently for a service before the winter. I'll definitely be going back.

Really amazing human being. Cares about providing excellent service and not making a quick buck.

David went above and beyond on my very neglected bike. In the end he even walked me through and explained what the biggest problems were and how to avoid them in the future.
I'd recommend him without hesitation. Thanks David!

Amazing service and professionalism. This is one of those hidden gems with the absolute rare case where someone truly puts their clients and their needs first. Dave is passionate about motorcycles and it's easy to see in his work and attention to detail. He worked on my Ducati and my brother's Triumph and we won't take our bikes anywhere else. Hands down, best motorcycle shop and tech I have ever dealt with. To say that Dave is honest is a complete understatement. 5 Star x2 since he has two clients for life with my brother and I.

I have a Moto Guzzi Griso. Brought it in to Dave to get it serviced - I needed new tires and he gave me some options. (ie didnt slap just the most expensive ones on.). Oil change.once over. He was a true professional - takes great pride in the business he has built.ie He cares. This is the place to bring your bike.

Solid gent, honest, smart and diligent. Kinda guy you want to maintain and fix your bike. He changed the bikes oil, lubed the cables and switched out the rear tire while chatting along the way and feeding the squirrels. Thanks, will be back.

Dave is fantastic. Does good work, and is usually available very quickly for quick work, so no waiting 3 months for a 1-hour job. Will definitely be coming back here for regular work and recommending him to friends and fellow riders.

Dave is exactly the reason why I prefer going to independent motorcycle mechanics, rather than taking my bike to bigger name-brand workshops. Needed some work done on my valves, and Dave was able to receive the bike and fix the problem quickly, and at a rate far lower than other places quoted. He provides good, honest feedback with no bulls**t, and doesn't try to pressure you for more work. I left feeling confident, not screwed, and my 2011 Triumph Scrambler is humming perfectly.

Dave is a top shelf mechanic. He's saved me a ton of money by diagnosing problems early on and accurately, plus he always provides great advice for sourcing parts or maintaining my bike.

My BMW K100RS left his shop running and sounding like a completely different bike.

Be warned, he's a low BS type of guy and doesn't like working on filthy, unsafe or ill maintained bikes. They just cause him and his clients headaches - I get it.

Super clean shop, great guy, solid hourly rate for the quality of service.

Highly recommend.

Dave is very passionate about what he does. We did not necessarily walk away entirely happy with each other's attitude though. My wife had a motorcycle accident and I took the bike to Dave's shop. I was emotionally upset from the accident and so when he explained the insurance claim and repair process, could not grasp it entirely. Which led to me asking multiple questions about the same things he had explained. This somehow seemed to make him think that I was trying to cheat. Discussion ended with him yelling and slamming the door on my face. I am still unclear what ticked him off and why he had to yell at me. But credit is due where it is due. His work and dedication is top notch. 5 stars for sure. I don't think I felt welcome there anymore. But would definitely recommend folks to go there for any of your motorcycle service needs. Cheers.

Direct? Sure. Honest? Yes. Blunt? Wouldnt say no. But after approaching him, he immediately wanted (or at least made me feel) to turn around and leave because my bike is not a stock BMW (only took fairing and handle bar off). You are a mechanic for god sake! I dont want to turn this to a rant but IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO FIX YOUR BIKE FOR $100/hour, HE IS AS GOOD AS ALL BASIC DEALERSHIPS THAT WONT EVEN ENTERTAIN A CHALLENGE BECAUSE THEY WANT THAT $$$.

He’s (dave) honest i give him that, But far overrated to what people tell him he can do.
