Al's Steakhouse

Will not recommend. The steak was bland and service terrible. Waited 30 mins for someone to even realize we were there. We were charged for food we didn’t order. And when we complained that we didn’t ask for that we were told it’s part of the menu. Go at your own risk. If I could give 0 stars I will.

Had a great meal and really enjoyed the experience. Our service was very knowledgeable and made our first experience here awesome:)

We stoped for some vergers on the patio. The burger patties were bland/tasteless.

We have been here at least 2-3 times in the past but because we are living in Toronto so it’s difficult for us to go often. I brought my friends here today 13 people, at the time we arrived, there was so many table outdoor, and they said we just need to wait 5 mins, but actually we waited for 30mins. The waitress gave us a very strange look maybe because of the way we dressed, not even look into my eyes when we spoke (we just back from the water park but we dressed just fine). They said we could have table outside but after 15-20mins, they’re not allowed us anymore. And they want us to wait again 5mins to have table inside but it wasn’t, i know it will be more again, and we need to go back to Toronto again! 4 hours driving, amd at that time it was 7: 30PM already! I love the food and everything was fine to us for the last time, really not happy qith what happened today ^^. Again they have tons of tables available! Won’t recommend this one as really bad customer service!

I came a long way from toronro and i chose this restaurant because it was recommended and we were so excited but until i met the host here they said i don't need to make an appointment and can walkin. They said waiting for 5 10 mins and then 35 mins so rude never come back

Als Steakhouse in Ottawa is an absolute delight! Steffi, our server, provided top-notch service with a warm smile. The onion soup was a taste sensation, bursting with rich flavors that warmed my soul. And the steak? Oh my goodness, it was a juicy, tender masterpiece cooked to perfection. A true carnivore's paradise! You can taste the real grill flavour. The patio is set up beautifully and parking in the back is extremely convenient. My husband and I will definitely come back!

We came in after a long days work outside. We looked pretty rough but were still treated like we were dressed for a night out. The beer was great, the crab cake was amazing and the wagu steak was perfect. A big shout out to Jenny, she was a perfect waitress and made our experience a one to remember.

Simply DELICIOUS! Beautiful, classy and friendly. The ambiance elegant. The waitresses were above and beyond with their welcoming smiles and greetings, knowledgeable with every single detail of the menu and fast responsive.
The food is SINPLY THE BEST GRILLED MEAT HAD SO FAR IN OTTAWA! We got a Rib Eye 20oz. And a Filet Mignon. Both were spectacular. We parked at their own parking on a Saturday night. The outdoor was magical with the lights. But we sat indoor. Which was classy. There was a bar. The toilets were clean. There was a wheelchair accessibility.

My wife and I recently hosted our 50th wedding anniversary at Al's. The service was great and I thank the servers for doing an outstanding job. The food was excellent. The facility and atmosphere was perfect. All of our guests commented on what a great job the folks at Al's had done. Thank you.

This was the 2nd wedding anniversary in a row. Have eaten here many times last year was a disaster we thought it Wes a bad night was super busy. This year 283 dollars with 55 dollar tip for 2 and the lobster was in edible and the 4 bites of steak "8 oz " filet was cooked to death. Not cool

So I visited Al’s steakhouse for the first time. I’m a chef and work very hard 40 + hours a week finally got a day off so me and the pregnant wife went to eat. We got steaks that comes with salad we both upgraded to Ceasers for $5 extra each I’m Muslim and don’t eat pork, THERE was bacon in my salad! She said she was sorry then took it away she didn’t if I wanted another one much less comp it final bill. The steaks were ordered well done as I’m Muslim and my wife is pregnant… our steaks were med all the way thru red on the inside of both.good flavour but I think it’s the extra butter marrow I added for $10 prob she didn’t tell me. All in all I still paid jus over $200 and still tipped 36% for food I had to re cook at home and food I never got to throughly enjoy. Good atmosphere but horrible back of house.p. S if they say walk in it’s fine. DONT you should make a reservation because they’ll make you feel very awkward at the front asking if you have one when the hostess or whoever answered 10 mins ago said it’s fine jus walk in. Don’t think we’ll be back!

Great place to go with family or friends for a fancier night out. I'm new to steak so can't comment on the details of the steak but I thought it was good, and the ambiance is great for conversation. I liked that they didn't rush us even though they were quite busy so we were all able to enjoy our dinner and conversation.

Went out for birthday celebration with friends... The best part of the meal was the caesar and the specialty coffee... The company was great.

I heard they are known for their steaks. This is my second time coming here for the same dish (I thought maybe the first time was a one-off so I gave it another chance. I love steaks, I love steak frites! To be honest the steaks are not well seasoned, it was not tasty and the steak was also dry. The fries are mushy and it also didn’t have flavour.
The fried zucchini, their bread, salad and rice was good though.not sure if I’ll be back to ever try their seafood as they’re known for their steaks. (We shall see) here are some photos I’ve taken. The photos looks better than it tastes.

We had a terrific dinner. Food (steaks, mashed potatoes, salads, fries and mussels) was very good and arrived piping hot to our table. Service was professional and friendly. We will be returning.

My wife and I found ourselves alone in Ottawa and were lucky enough to stumble upon Al's parkside patio where we enjoyed a meal together. It simply could not have work out better if we planned it. The mood on the patio was perfect, the peppercorn crust filet mignon was to die for, and the two of us found some much needed alone time. Laughter, sunshine, great food, and yummy sangias. Thanks Al!

Overcrowded, too loudly, no music to suppress noisy people, no ceiling noise suppression coverage and overpriced. I will not go again to suffer terribly noisy people that management does not put in order to respect the rest of customers! My suggestion is to sound suppress with cover ceiling. Also play jazz music so to people speak less and silently. Do separe walls among tables to feel private instead of eating in a terrible noisy fast food. Then.maybe i will eat there again

Great supper and lunch. I’ve been 5-6 times now for lunches, dinner for 2, dinner for 4, and dinner for 8. Always been a good experience. I was pleasantly surprised by how enormous the apps are, 10/10 would recommend go just for wine and shareables.

Not sure what my favourite dinner item is, because they do surf, turf, and salads so well!

We went during the 2023 tulip festival. We ordered salads, fries, crab cake appetizer, porterhouse steak (medium rare), and creme brulee. The place was rather busy but we still had amazing service. The food was spectacular. If you get the porterhouse definitely share it or plan on taking it home.

Went there on a whim. Sat in the back patio that was clean, spacious. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Food was delicious with fresh ingredients, well presented, good portion sizes and fresh. Will definitely be going back.
