Easy to get to Pearson airport on the airport link train. Prices have gone up a lot following the end of Covid. Quiet expensive but convenient.

There are plenty of international chain hotels near Toronto airport that I normally do not need to try independents and in fact I never did before. However my latest stay was paid by Air Canada due to a missed flight; they originally mentioned that they would send us to Holiday Inn and pay for a taxi, but since we had a baby in tow with stroller they changed their mind and sent us to the more convenient Alt hotel instead because it only requires to take the airlink from the airport terminal. As it was a free stay I cannot complain but for people considering to pay cash out of their own pocket, based on my stay I would not recommend Alt.

There are only two hotels connected to the YYZ airport: Sheraton Gateway which is usually very overpriced, and Alt hotel. While Alt is convenient because we can avoid taking a shuttle bus, however the location remains inferior to Sheraton. Alt is near a station which is neither terminal 1 or terminal 3 whereas Sheraton is at T3 so half of guests will not even need to take the airlink train. In addition, Alt is not directly connected to the airlink station; it required a short walk outdoors of perhaps 50 meters. No big deal 9 months out of 12, but in the winter or if it’s raining hard then some guests would find it suboptimal.

The room was relatively clean and the design was somewhat interesting and non-boring for example the concrete wall gave a certain style to the room unlike many forgettable Marriotts or Sheratons in North America. However the bed was a queen not a king, and overall was not spacious at all at 23 sqm. They went overboard with unusual design by putting an insufficiently frosted glass door in the shower such that if you looked on one side of the bed you could see not only the shower but the toilet as well. The shower had a faucet which was so low near the floor that it must have been for feet only and the button to switch water between tap and shower head was not working. Last but not least, with international chain hotels I am used to receiving at least a couple of water bottles as a welcome benefit but there was no such thing at Alt. Since Canada normally has great tap water it would normally not be a big deal but tap water at Alt was entirely white even after I let it run for several minutes so we did not want to take a chance drinking that.

We did not have breakfast or dinner at the hotel but I did investigate the dining options. Since this was an unforeseen stay at YYZ we asked the hotel if they could boil veggies and we would mash them for the baby. No such luck. Their only meals were pre-packaged and they put them in the oven, period. Any full-service hotel near YYZ with a proper kitchen would have been able to cook vegetables for us.

I did not pay for the stay but out of curiosity I asked them what was the walk-up rate for the night: 180 CAD. I compared with last minute rates from other hotel chains and my conclusion was that for that time of the year, the price at Alt was clearly lower than Sheraton Gateway, but similar to full service hotels nearby which require a shuttle bus. Alt might have the better location but since it’s not really connected to the terminal I think the better choices remain Sheraton Gateway if budget allows, or superior hotels which require a shuttle bus, for the same price than Alt or lower. Alt seems overpriced to me, not to mention the lack of elite benefits and not earning points which ultimately have a cash value. Bottom line I am unlikely to return to Alt with my own money in the future.

Great accommodating hotel after we checked in at 5: 00 a.m. For a few hours after our flight had to come back to Toronto when it couldn't land. Bed was so comfy and we didn't need to check out till later which was amazing. The coffee machine was a nice surprise, as well as the little convenience store in the lobby. My cats were happy to be able to be out of they travel bags for a few hours and made themselves right at home.

Smaller and nice modern rooms but you are really here for the awesome location and proximity to the airport train link. Never again will I wait for an off-site hotel shuttle to get me back to my parked car. Nice bar area and friendly staff.

Hôtel super moderne avec des chambres parfaitement équipées! On est vraiment bien dedans tout comme dans le lobby qui fait presque oublier qu'on se trouve près de l'aéroport! Le meilleur choix si vous devez faire une escale!

It's about convenience more than anything else. For 1 night this place is perfect. A train ride away from main terminal, easy check-in. Restaurant is basic so make sure you grab a bite somewhere else if you are picky on food and value.

Ultra modern looking hotel, perfect for the airport. Connected to airport by shuttle train, every 4 mins. Our room was small but adequate. Restaurant on site. We had pasta it was good. Even though it is close to the airport the room was very quiet.

Great proximity to airport. Also easy to get downtown wo driving. Nice clean place. Cool European vibe.

Room did not have basic amenities. More of a hostel vibe than hotel.
The products are heavily scented and nauseating
For the price point you’d have better luck staying elsewhere.

I stayed here for two nights, my room was tidy and comfortable. The location is also good, within 20 min of downtown and Toronto premium outlet.

It was extremely easy to get to the Alt from the airport, just a quick ride on the Terminal Link train, which is easily accessed by escalators/elevators, so no steps to worry about with heavy bags. It took me about 7-10 minutes to get from baggage claim to the lobby.

The check-in was efficient and friendly, and they have options for contactless check-in if you prefer. The lobby was very trendy and had lots of space for working or hanging out.

Rooms are basic, but have everything you need, especially for an airport hotel. Bathrooms are spacious and have good lighting for makeup.

I liked how in the lobby there is a bar/restaurant to dine in, or a take-away counter with things like salads, wraps, fruit, healthy juice, etc to take up to your room. The restaurant also has a pizza oven.

Great value, would 100% stay here again. Such a better/cheaper option than the Sheraton!

Very unpleasant experience.
Had to struggle even for the basic requirements. Didn't refund my security deposit saying we have released, however it never showed in my bank account. Tried to ask them but the staff sounded very rude.

Very nice place, very clean. Also very expensive and the little cafeteria/breakfast bar is overpriced.

During COVID things are more hectic, however the staff was extremely helpful and kind even when I had a million questions!

It was a great experience, this hotel deserves 5 stars as a quarantine hotel. Food was good, delivered on time and warm. Room service served what I asked in matter of minutes. I highly recommend this hotel.

I was so disappointed with wrong invoice and management attitude!

Ok. We didn't really love it because we were there for the 3 day mandatory quarantine.:) However, it went as well as can be expected in the food was decent and actually they gave almost too much food each meal. Everything was on time: the food was hot and when you called Room Service it was almost immediate that they brought something to your door. The service was very good and we tried to be super over-polite to the staff because I am sure they're dealing with some pretty cranky people at this stage in their Hotel lives given all the quarantine gpinga-on. Overall the staff did a great job and the Room was comfortable in the Wi-Fi was fantastic.

My parents stayed for their 3 days mandatory isolation. They were very satisfied with the service and stuff. The room and food were fine, but the service was fantastic.

Easy access from the airport via the train (takes only 5 minutes) & recommend this for stopovers for air travellers and 3-day quarantine alike. Food delivered for quarantine stay ranged from good to mediocre. While supper was great & lunch was okay, morning breakfast wasn't balanced nutrient wise. Otherwise good service & clean facilities

My travel agent booked this hotel for me because it was the cheapest federally approved for Quarantine and the accepted dogs. All the staff at this hotel are amazing! Very helpful, happy and happy to chat! (very important when you have to spend so much time alone in your room). My only issue was the food; $400 a day and we got prepackaged, not good quality breakfasts, bun thrown in box on top of other items with no wrapper, no butter, rock hard green pear. Lunch was salad and was very great! Dinner on the other hand was not so great, was prepared in a foil tin, very few vegetables snd soggy. (like airplane food). I expected much better from such a nice hotel. My room was wonderful!

I was there for 3 days Quarantine. The food was not enough ever for me, I can not imagine how man will be hungry with so weak food.

Comfortable stay near Pearson Airport. Well-lit and hygienic rooms with all basic amenities for a happy stay! Hotel staff were cooperative and helpful. Not much variety of cuisines available, but food is also fine.

Expensive but okay for a night when you are stranded at the airport. Get there by taking the free train from the airport.

Great price and location. The hotel is well kept and quiet. I wish the food options were better for on site eating.

I stayed here NYE 2019. Room 1402, we experienced bed bugs. I called the front desk and they said they would move us to another room but once seeing a bed bug in the bed I wasn’t comfortable with staying there anymore. The next day I called the hotel to speak to the general manager, but instead got connected to the front desk manager. While explaining my disappointment and unapproval of what I experienced from the previous night I was constantly being told I was being confrontational. The manager explained to me that it was not a bed bug but better yet a TICK. A TICK which can potentially lead to Lyme disease, as if that put me at ease. I’m utterly disgusted and at a lost of words. I was told the general manager would be contacting me when her shift started which would be within a couple hours yet never received a call back. BEYOND DISGUSTING! DO NOT STAY HERE!

Basic airport hotel but a bit stingy with the (2) coffees in the room. No restaurant but you can buy your own food there in a sort of shop so take your own.

Beautiful room, interesting decor. Staff were kind and efficient. Breakfast was so so, but the dinner was good! Food packed, easy and ready to take with you. Loved the pink wall on the 8th floor! Would definitely stay again.

I really wanted to love this hotel and was really excited to stay here so that I could make an early flight without driving an hour to the city. Unfortunately, I couldn't get to sleep because the walls were so thin I could hear everything in the hallway, every door slam etc. Also, there are no curtains on the window so the bright lights from the parking lot were blasting through the blinds which wouldn't completely shut. I'm really used to black-out curtains and am a light sleeper so it might not impact you if you're not in that boat. They did move me to another room after I laid in bed awake for a couple hours but I had to look at 2 other rooms before landing in one that had blinds that shut completely. The staff were polite as well. #disappointed

Stayed for 2 nights with a research team. Used the conference space and had a room with 2 double beds on Floor 7. Lived out of here for 2 days and overall a 9/10 experience.

Very modern decor, comfy (soft for my tastes) bed and sheets. Spotless washroom & I love that they use refillable bottles (rather than disposable mini are/bottles) for shampoo, hand soap etc.).

Made use of the Altcetera Cafe for dinner. Not impressed with the sandwich options (mostly luncheon meats) but the salads were A+. There is also a nice area (2 in fact) on main floor for lounging and working. Exercise room available but didn’t have time to use.

My primary critique was terribly slow wifi (just for browsing) and while that minimally affected me as I am local and had data service, I can see that being an issue for international guests.

Conference space was well-suited for a smaller to mid size group. The pens they give you actually work! What a revalation! Conference food was simple but delicious (tho having the same option for lunch the same day was a bit of an oddity) including hot breakfast (for the conference attendees).

Overall the staff were personable and went above and beyond on more than one occasion. Pleasantly surprised for an airport hotel. Thank you!

A very different kind of hotel. Not what i expected. A cool concept poorly executed. Room was small, poorly laid out and the finishings were cheap and coming apart. Furniture was really low end and uncomfortable. The desk layout was not suitable for actual work. The bed was comfortable. The meeting room was horrible. Hvac was awful and the av setup sceeen was about 60 percent of the size it should have been for a room yhat size. Audio was horrible. I would suggest you look elsewhere for a business conference.

The Alt Hotel was an unexpected delight. I had expected much less and found instead a thoughtfully designed hotel, (licensed throughout so beer ok to take from bar into room) that gives a very comfortable room and bed. Room well laid out and designed to make the most of the space in a very European fashion. Quiet room despite being on the airport grounds and the staff was very helpful and pleasant, even though I arrived at 11 pm.

If you are on the road and need to take a call near the airport, Alt Hotel Lobby is the place to do it.

OK hotel for one night. Clean, spacious rooms and comfortable beds - the catch is the final price. They charge $20/day for parking + other "surprise" fees. Finally you end up paying 20%-30% (edited) more than what's advertised on various websites.
The security deposit on the credit card should be released immediately upon confirming the status at check-out, instead the funds were being withheld for three weeks! I'm not sure whether this is the bank's or hotel's fault but it's ridiculous. I believe it's mutual interest. This is definitely NOT an odd occurrence, it's been happening to me several times, for hotel reservations ONLY around the Toronto area.

seriously I doubt those Hotel is worth a 4.3. I review a coupe of comments and they looked fabricated. Hotel is convenient but not cheap. Room are small and I had the strongest facade LED shining until after midnight. No sleep during this time.personal is grumpy, close to arrogant. They used a bizarre excuse to charge me the night that was pre-paid by the company inviting me. Then an additional $100 charge appeared on my credit card. I did not get help but was told I should call my bank (!). I understand you cannot expect much hospitality at an airport, but this is reaching abuse.

Cool hotel with lots of modern amenities. The design and interior is incredible! Right by Toronto Pearson International Airport. Medium size rooms and free Wi-Fi. Parking is included in your reservation. The only cons are the parking lot is across the street from the hotel, the drop off at the entrance is small, and there is no room service so you can't order any food from your room. However there is on the main floor a bar and store where you can purchase snacks. Small business center, but it gets the job done. Will stay here again.

I just wanted to leave a quick thank you note to the front desk agent who worked on the evening of July 24,2018. I believe his name is Nash. Nash really helped my parents out when they got stuck in Toronto Airport due to an unexpected flight delay. Nash was able to overcome the language barrier (my parents did not speak much English) and took great care of them despite how busy he was (lots of people checking in due to the unexpected flight delays that day). I cannot thank you enough, Nash. Thank you for looking after my parents!

Stayed here because rooms downtown were too expensive because of a few events going on at the time. I was pleasantly surprised. Rooms are very modern and clean. Location is great for flying or heading downtown on the UP train. The staff were super nice and helpful.

Had a great stay here on a business trip. Stylish, easily accessible to YYZ, and comfortable. Plenty of food available for sale but alas, no breakfast. On the flip side the bar was great. Would definitely stay here again.

Very welcoming atmosphere in the lobby. Very well located at the Viscount terminal of the airtrain. Rooms are typical of the Alt brand.

Excellent service and great price toó. No shuttle bus just a train ride to get there. However only one train was operating and it was overcrowded and I felt unsafe.

Window blinds were broken. Shower leaked on floor terribly. Bed was super comfy and door man at arrival at midnight was super friendly.

It's very close to the airport the staff are excellent and helpful the rooms are very cheap and most importantly the service is awesome.

Stayed using the park and fly rate. We checked out and arrived at our terminal all in 10 minutes. Very happy with the location and access to the Pearson Link Train and Value Park Garage.

Perfect for last overnight before catching super early flight out. Modern, edgy, and comfy and right on the airport grounds - just hop the train and you are at terminal in 2 minutes.

Very unique and fun theming. Rooms are small but comfortable. Right by the terminal and transportation but very quiet. Pricing and parking cost were why we stayed.

This is the kinda hotel where dreams go to die. Tiny rooms, premade food you have to microwave, no pool, no tub, no on demand TV. Hell half of one of my concrete walls isn't even painted. I'm here for 5 nights. I will try not to jump off the roof, which I'm sure there is no access to anyway.

Super convenient to Toronto airport. It's l on the same tramline that services terminal 1 and 3. (Why *is* there no terminal 2!) You walk out to the parking lot at the hotel is right there. Maybe 100 yards away. ALT is a 'nouveau' style hotel with exposed concrete and stuff. Totally fine experience. Would definitely stay again for an early morning flight or stopover in Toronto. Note you can also connect (indoors) to the Pearson Express train that goes downtown Toronto. Cheap, clean and easy to do.
