Called and emailed the shop to schedule a consult for my wedding flowers. Kept getting brushed off. I had to continue inquiring and I kept getting the response of “we’re very busy”. Needless to say I had to move on to another florist to help me with my wedding day flowers.

Melissa gave me great service. She cared that I received exactly what I wanted to give. I will always order from this company as their employees really listen. They have such a variety of flowers.

Although not a large bouquet, we ordered the regular size, our daughter was pleased by the beautiful flowers chosen.

I have previously used Alta Vista Flowers and was very pleased. Unfortunately, I was having issues using their website and had tried everything I could think of (restarting my computer, using another browser, googling the issue, etc). Upon calling I was told that I would be expected to pay the delivery fee since I was unable to order online (orders within 10km are free if ordered online). Very disappointing experience and the loss of not only one, but two arrangements.

Sorry to Lauren leave the shop. She has done a great job for my family every month. I look forward to seeing what her replacement can come up with. I always recommend Alta Vista flowers.

Their website kept automating the incorrect postal code repeatedly making it impossible for me to pay and I had to use a family member’s card to make the order. It was getting late in the day and the flowers we bought did not arrive at their destination. We called to make a kind inquiry as to when our delivery was going to arrive and were met with rudeness. The flowers that were delivered via the ‘florists choice’ selection were overpriced.

Ordered flowers for my Moms birthday off their website and she absolutely loved them. I selected florists choice to put together something with seasonal flowers, it was a stunning bouquet that smelled amazing. I placed the order in the evening and they were delivered the next day by noon.

First time using Alta Vista Flowers! It was a last minute order to be delivered and Alta Vista was amazing at making that happen! Delivered was a beautiful arrangement for my daughters 23rd! Will for sure use Alta Vista again! ️

I ordered two floral arrangements on December 23rd at 2: 00 PM and they were delivered that afternoon. Beautiful and fresh! Good job!

I am a long time customer from out of town and was sent a discount code and free delivery if I ordered on line. It wouldn’t accept the code and I tried for over 25 minutes. I am a senior and had much trouble ordering the flowers. I called the florist and explained my difficulty and asked her if she would honor the free delivery and discount over the phone. She was very curt with me and said no. I explained I was a long time customer and would really appreciate her help. In no uncertain terms would she allow it. I will not be ordering from there again and immediately called Landon’s Florist.
I forgot to mention that I had left a phone message 2 days prior and my call was never returned.

The arrangements were beautiful, but communication was terrible. I put down a deposit in February for my august wedding, but had to contact Karen several times to finalize details as she was very slow to respond. I was quoted one price, but the final price was 30% higher although no changes were made to the original request. She says she sent the final invoice, but she did not, and acted annoyed when I hadn’t paid yet because I hadn’t seen the invoice (that was miscalculated originally which is why it had to be resent). I also gave specific instructions on three separate occasions regarding the pick up of the bouquet, twice verbally and once via email, and they were still erroneously delivered to the venue. Karen needs an admin assistant desperately as it appears she can’t keep up with emails or keep details straight.
If you insist on using them for your special occasion, make sure you are double, triple, and even quadruple checking the details with her.

I ordered a gorgeous plant from Alta Vista Flowers. The plant was delivered the next day and made my friend’s birthday even more special!

A few days ahead of a special occasion I contacted the store, which is owned by a family acquaintance from years ago. We finalized the order the morning of the event, and I was able to pick it up before closing. The arrangement was very much appreciated, and got many positive remarks.

Vary disrespectful. I walked in to get some flowers before they closed.they said sorry we closed are cash (still open) I also called before I arrived the girl that answered the phone was not courteous and Lied that they where Busy. Take you Business some where elsewhere

1) The color of the flowers I ordered was completely different from what I had chosen. There must be a better way to do this and update your system on which colors are available or not!

2) The nice picture of the box of chocolates on the website is not entirely accurate. We had a store-bought Ferrero Rocher delivered. Please be more specific in your description or at least provide the customer options if you are selling different brands from the store and not an assortment of chocolate. Also update your pictures to be more accurate

3) I send an email to express my disappointment. Their response was simply an apology to my dissatisfaction and no expression of any intent to take the feedback into account or improve!

Have ordered from here twice on two separate occasions! Flowers have been absolutely beautiful both times and arrived on time for delivery! Will be using again.

I can only express disappointment with Alta Vista Flowers. My mother passed away last week and on Friday evening I received a phone call from a delivery driver that he had some flowers for delivery but couldn't find my address. Apparently all instructions, including postal code were correct, but for the street name, which was transposed to begin with a "B" instead of a "T". He told me he would try to get to my neighbourhood, about 15km away but was doubtful. I then received a call from the office saying they would deliver my flowers the next day, Saturday. By late afternoon Saturday I received no flowers and the business was closed when I called to inquire. On Sunday I called to ask if they had delivered the day prior and perhaps left outside for someone to take, or if they planned on delivering me dead flowers. The person I spoke with explained she had to go back to the ordering out-of-town florist to correct address and recharge the $30 delivery fee for the error. She said that I would not be receiving any flowers unless the ordering florist and originator decided to cover the cost for delivery. She could not tell me who ordered or the city of the original order. She confirmed they were a condolences arrangement. Although I understand there is gas and time involved in delivery, someone made a small error, the rest of address and contact information was accurate. Whether it was the originating florist or Alta Vista, someone mistook "T" for "B" but the postal code was provided and was key to locating the delivery address. They had my phone number and called me on Friday. They knew exactly who the intended recipient was. If they had even checked the delivery address on the "B" street the house numbers stop at 22 and mine is in the 50's. Had they checked the delivery address the postal code doesn't match with the "B" street. As said they had my phone number, called me, confirmed my name, confirmed the corrected street name, were less than 15 km away. It seems like shoddy customer service not to proceed with delivery; not to mention they were flowers for loss of a loved one, and during the Christmas season. They could have just as easily made the decision to kindly put the flowers on the next days delivery list and done a kind deed but instead to turn around and say, "sorry no flowers for you" - sad! I live by the old motto "do unto others" and in my opinion Alta Vista showed their customers are not their priority. Whoever was in the wrong between the two florists should not have come into play when there is both an ordering and recipient customer. It was a simple spelling mistake, and as indicated, whoever planned the day's deliveries failed to even check the accuracy of a destination point before setting out. I'm sure, this company has provided good service on many occasions, but in this case they failed to come through. I can not recommend using this florist based upon my experience as someone who never received the bereavement arrangement ordered by a friend during a very difficult time.

I didn't give 5 stars because the recipient had informed me that the delivery person had banged on the door aggressively instead of following instructions from my ordering process. I had placed instruction to call the recipient upon arrival so there's no disturbance if it was delivered early in the morning.

When ordering from the website be sure to specify a time of delivery in the box for ‘delivery instructions’ if timing is important. My mum was delighted with the bouquet she received, the premium Florist’s Choice, and was impressed with the nice message left by the delivery fellow confirming they’d been left on her doorstep. Alta Vista Flower does not even deserve the single star. They managed in the space of 24 hours to disappoint a grandmother, 3 grandchildren, the grand children's mother and attempt to throw the grandfather under the bus.
An order of flowers was placed and a delivery request was made. Ten hours later the flowers were delivered to the wrong address. The delivery guy offered to return to the wrong address retrieve the bouquet and deliver it to the right address, which is so wrong on so many levels. Not satisfied with this debacle Alta Vista Flowers then attempted to suggest that the person receiving the flowers of which there was none, other than someone else's, refused delivery when there was nothing but the wrong bouquet to deliver! The out come, 5 unhappy people of which one was accused of creating this mess, a ruined birthday and of the 5,3 grandchildren not understanding why their grandmother didn't get their gift! Well done Alta Vista Flowers well done!

Once again Alta Vista Flowers has blown all expectations out of the water! I live in Alberta and put my online flower order in around 10pm Ottawa time on the 13th and they were still able to do a Valentine’s Day delivery free of charge! Very impressed, as always. My dad is 77 and is immobile and doesn’t know how to use the internet. They’ve been married for 46 years and got engaged on Valentine’s Day so I sent my mom flowers with a saying he always says to her on the card. I didn’t tell my dad I was doing it, so it was a nice surprise for both of them.

Hello, I ordered flowers a soap and a card for -my moms birthday (Odette), she lives in Ottawa, at 502 Besserer K1N 6C4, I would like to confirmed that they where sent or that something went wrong, I live in Denmark so I have to order online, my card says the money is pending and frozen in my acount waiiting for you take it out, and Received an email thnking me for the order, Usualy my mom would of said thank you by now, but no fb message, So I am guessing somthing must of gonne wrong. My wife was so happy to receive her flowers on Valentines Day. It was a lovely arrangement too, she loved it. I was very impressed with the service I received from the shop as well. I had entered my order at 6am on Valentines Day and it was delivered on a day that was most likely one of their busiest days of the year. Thank you again for your help. Very disappointed, and sad about the order I had placed for my anniversary. I ordered almost a week in advance, a beautiful Peony bouquet that they advertised online and got something COMPLETELY different. I went out of my way and ordered from this place specifically because they had peonies.instead I got some sort of Lilly arrangement and Some greenery! I would never have picked Lillie’s! I would have gotten flowers WAY closer if this is what I knew I would have gotten! I never received an e-mail or a phone call stating they didn’t have them in stock, or if I wanted something different. I’ve been in customer service for 10 years, and this was by far the worst experience I have had. They have a “Satisfaction guaranteed” policy. I am not satisfied. I called you to fix the issue and I am still not satisfied, you didn’t fix the problem, you gave me an ultimatum. Never ordering from you again. Please don't advertise things online, if you do not physically have the product in stock.

I asked to have the flowers delivered in the morning, after placing the order 4 days in advance, to which they replied "We can definitely do that. " They then proceeded to deliver the item at 2pm in the afternoon, and said "you should have told us you wanted a particular time. " I've ordered 5 arrangements from them, always beautiful and on time. This is my first negative experience with them. I'd be less upset if they were apologetic or made some attempt to make up for their error. It turned a special occasion for my fiance into a hassle, very uncharacteristic of them and disappointing.

UPDATE: That's all I wanted, was the apology, so thank you. Otherwise, the flowers are always beautiful and service is quite excellent. I will order from them again, for sure.we're all allowed a mistake from time to time:)

My friend said the white roses were most excellent! They were easy for me to order online, and were promptly delivered to her the next day.

‘Dish garden - zen like succulent garden to include interesting coloured textured succulents, really try and create a zen like atmosphere-white ceramic’. This was on the invoice. I ordered this for my son and daughter-in-law on the occasion of a death in the family. I am visiting from Halifax. The garden includes all green, little colour variation. I spoke to owner when it arrived and she said she did the best she could, but that was all they had in, and said it was meant to mean ‘if possible’. I took the description on the invoice literally, and was not told at the time that coloured variation was not in. It was the owner Karen’s attitude.that I was mistaken in my expectations, that I couldn’t expect any more colour than what was there. The girl I spoke to first had said there could be variations of red and blue, which weren’t in at the moment.wish I had known that. Also when I had placed my order initially on the Thursday before Good Friday for Saturday delivery, and asking questions re container, etc trying to make up my mind, Karen was curt when she said that we could be going around in circles and there were other customers and orders waiting to be filled. I should have hung up right then. The offer today was to bring it in and have the arrangement done to my satisfaction, but my son and wife are working, live in Kanata, and still under the strain of the passing of our family member, as I am. Yes an offer was made, but with a less than understanding attitude without apology, which is my main critique. She brought the conversation to a close saying thank you for calling and have a Happy Easter, in a tone just wanting to be rid of me. I see other less than favourable reviews here, with responses i.e. Being in business for 70 years which seemed to preclude any questioning of disappointment. That may well be, but the current owner hasn’t been with the company that long. I’m sure the owner will put her own spin on my review. I would only suggest that a more empathetic attitude would be helpful.

They did a great job on a Valentine's Day delivery to the school where my wife works. I was worried because they needed to be delivered by lunch and the only way (online) to indicate this is in the Special Request notes before you pay. But the roses showed up perfectly on time. The flower quality was quite good and the packaging was beautiful.
I had read some horror stories about flower delivery on busy days like Valentine's Day so I'm glad I did a bit of research and found a reputable, local shop like Alta Vista. They get five stars from me.

Yesterday, I contacted Karen, owner of Alta Vista Flowers and asked her to put together a bouquet for a dear friend who was coming out of a depression. The bouquet she and her team put together and delivered later that afternoon, was gorgeous beyond belief; my friend cried tears of joy at this unexpected, but much appreciated gift. I whole-heartedly recommend recommend Karen and Alta Vista for all your floral requirements.

I placed an on-line order on Mar 20th for delivery on Mar 21st. In the special instructions box I asked that the delivery be made before 11: 00 am. Not only were the flowers delivered within the specified time frame, the arrangement was BEAUTIFUL. It surpassed our expectations! It was absolutely PERFECT! I ordered flowers for my mother's birthday and selected a surprise arrangement through the online order form. Alta Vista Flowers put together the most beautiful bouquet! Very pleased with the delivery service as well!

Placed an order on February 13th for a bouquet to be delivered on Valentine's Day. Quite an expensive bouquet, but their reputation convinced me it would be worth it. I had to work, so I thought it would be a nice surprise for my wife to have them delivered since we couldn't be together during the day.

Well, it arrived at 10pm on Valentine's Day, looking like it had probably spent several hours jostling in the back of a van in cold weather. The flowers were covered in a sopping wet piece of tissue paper, half the water had spilled out of the vase, and the flowers were a combination of crushed and wilted. The colour profile didn't even match what I ordered - it completely lacked the white elements of the stock photo.

I paid for a proper bouquet and got something worse-looking than grocery store flowers, delivered at night, when most couples might not appreciate having to answer the door on Valentine's Day.

There was a nice little card of care instructions that started off by mentioning how they pride themselves on prompt service. Kind of an insult-to-injury situation. There wasn't even any flower food included, so I can only assume they're going to do nothing but wilt further than they have already.

They will never be getting my money again, nor anybody else's I can convince to go elsewhere. Shameful and disappointing. I would not rely on them for any special occasion if their idea of a Valentine's Day gift arrived at 10pm. I really don't like to complain, but this was so egregious that I felt compelled to leave a review.

My boyfriend had ordered flowers to be delivered to me on Valentine’s Day back on Feb 3. He confirmed the day before that the flowers would arrive by 5pm the following day, the address was correct, they even called him back to change the colour of the roses. Nothing arrived the day of, no phone call (they had both our contact information), by 11pm we were both sad and frustrated that despite his early planning, I received nothing. He called the following day and asked what happened, no explanation was given but thankfully they did provide a refund without argument. After reading many positive reviews about how they go the extra mile for customers, I called to express my concerns, and was quickly told ‘sorry, the weather was bad, this never happens, it would have been too late for you to get your flowers as it was a night order, it would have arrived by 11pm, we didn’t know about it and did everything possible to try to get it to you’. My issue is that I never received a phone call informing me of this and received nothing on Valentine’s Day. I asked for a productive solution, and was offered 30% off my next purchase, to which the manager said ‘well, this will likely be useless to you because you will clearly never shop here again’. By calling, I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt to make things right, but ultimately they have little regard for their customer’s satisfaction, and indeed I will never purchase flowers from them ever again as a result of this.

Placed an order online March 19 at @9pm for delivery the next day. I couldn’t find an area to request delivery time so I sent them an email with more info, requesting morning but by 11: 30am, my friend still didn’t get a call so I followed up by phone at my first chance at the # included in the email confirmation they sent me. I politely asked for a status and was spoken to in a condescending manner; that I should’ve followed up earlier, when they opened and when I referenced my email (explaining that I sent it to provide additional info on delivery because I didn’t see field for that), she said there was one right before completing order (which I evidently didn’t see) and that my email was ‘burried’ with others, told her this was my first opportunity to call as I was in meetings all morning and was just wondering when my order would be done, she countered to say she was busy making arrangements all morning and that my order was still in the design phase and did a I want a refund.said no, just wanted flowers delivered as it was for my colleague’s birthday (surprise) and that she was leaving early.told that my order was placed online after they closed. (Not sure why that matters, don’t have that option available if you can’t accommodate?). I just wanted a simple update on my order and instead got a defensive and disrespectful response by “Karen” who is later revealed as the owner when I asked. I was dumbfounded and feel this treatment was totally unwarranted and unacceptable. Worst experience for me ever. At that point, I said you know what, just refund me, which she did. In my opinion she seemed really agitated/annoyed, like the call was a burden.but I certainly didn’t deserve the attitude and sincerely wish she could play back the call and listen to herself! I would rate -1 star if that was possible! First and last with them.very disappointed.

Free delivery on the same day was what sold me. Placed the order at 12: 30pm and flowers came around 6: 30pm. When I called for an update they said they could be delievered anywhere from 6-9pm. Flowers were pretty but not really “deluxe. ” Also didn’t recieve any type of confirmation until over an hour after they got dropped off which wasn’t great. However if I ever need delivery the same day again I’d definietly consider ordering from Alta Vista flowers again.

The dendrobian orchids were disappointing. Stems had buds that dropped off from mid point to the tip. So they won't bloom. Picture had blooms the length of their stem.

First time ordering with them, I placed order the day before and on the day of friends birthday it was 630pm and still no flowers. Phone mail box was full and I emailed shop and when someone followed up I was informed deliveries take up to 930pm? Never have heard of this Late of a delivery for birthday flowers- but caller or shop owner was not pleasant and very defensive when speaking with her and questioning delivery - I will never order from Thai place again based on experience - she called me back at 630pm to tell me flowers would arrive at 730pm - brutal delivery time in my opinion

I live in Edmonton and I chose Alta Vista flowers based on reviews and selection. I placed the order last night and my sister received her birthday flowers this afternoon. She was so happy and called the arrangement "absolutely stunning". It was exactly as seen on the website photo. Thanks AVF!
