Bought two projects from Alterra - RUSH condos and Celeste. Closing my RUSH condos soon and so far great customer service and condo was good workmanship and they addressed the few deficiencies. Celeste bought that pre con and was easy process and good people to deal with. Would highly recommend this builder!

I had the pleasure of working with the sales and development team at Alterra on one of their preconstruction sale and it was a great experience. Communications between the sales team and myself & clients were clear and detailed. Questions and inquiries were answered on a timely manner with proper solutions & suggestions.

Alterra is a well-known builder in the GTA and they did a fantastic job with their customer services team to ensure customers are looked after post-sales professionally. Keep up the good work!

On Feb 23,2022, Alterra released 7 units at Rush Condos at 520 Richmond Street West. I was able to secure a unit B-558 for $775,990. They didn’t send any paperwork and my agent has been calling them multiple times every week since then for it. They said over and over again that the reason they didn’t send the paperwork yet was because they were busy preparing for the release of their new project Celeste. This past week, they finally contacted my agent saying they are prepared to send the paperwork but the price is now $809,990. When my agent said that was not the price that was agreed upon when they released the 7 units, they basically said take it or leave it. I think this says enough.

Don't ever buy any Precondo assigment sale from this builder, they put a lot of BS fee on closing even you have fee capped with them in the contract. My cap was 6000 when buying the condo, now, they charge 7500 for dev and 12000 for Park levy, 3500 for installing water meters and many other fees. Plus this is the fee for a 2016 sell condo, can't imagine how much they will charge for those new condo. In addition, the material they used to build condo is very cheap, take look at 159SW's rendering and the real building, you will find they are completely two buildings. Better stay away from this builder.

Alterra is one of my favourite Developers to work with. They are customer centric in everything that they do and their team is incredibly hard working and detail oriented. They always exceed my expectations and highly recommend them to my clients.

My clients recently closed on two units at 159SW. The units are gorgeous and we had a great experience working with the Alterra team. The building is spectacular with high quality finishes and unobstructed views of the whole city. We were able to lease both units within a week and all tenants have had nothing but great things to say.

We purchased a condo in a building built by Alterra Development. That building is now 15 years old and our engineering company has advised we need to remove the exterior wall cladding, repair underlying issues due to faulty construction and completely replace the whole EIFS system. In addition we are advised the curtain wall was installed upside down so instead of draining water it has been retaining water. This is a $2.8 million project, the cost of which is being borne by the current owners. Since the work has begun, I have had people tell me about their poor experiences with Alterra. We are faced with an average assessment of about $45,000 each unit, plus I expect our units (if we did decide to sell) would be worth less on the market now than when we bought. There are 4 building in our project and I would not be surprised if the other buildings find the same issue. Shame on you Alterra and shame on the city whose inspectors inspected the construction during the original build. A one rating as zero is not an option.

Update July 2021 - Our 15 year old building has been under reconstruction for over a year now and it looks like another year to go. The costs have increased as more issues related to poor workmanship, wrong materials, missing elements in the walls, gaps in the walls, deteriorated steel beams, balcony issues are uncovered. Hard to believe the city inspectors actually visited the site during construction! Now 2 of the other 3 buildings are having to replace corroded steel beams and unsafe balcony railings. Buyer beware.

Amazing buildings - built to last a lifetime! All the staff are so sweet and friendly, the process was very easy, no stress. Highly recommend any project built by such a reputable builder.

A disappointing developer motivated by greed who doesn't care about the neighbourhoods, people and overall community they build in. I wouldn't be surprised if the build quality is also poor. They are proposing a new eye sore in Etobicoke on Fieldway that is 10 stories tall in a low-rise residential area. The adjacent property that was just built are stacked townhouses no taller than 4 stories. The greed of this selfish builder is ridiculous, build something more sensible for the sake of the community.
