My 2 boys and I moved to the Kingston area a year and a half ago and were referred to Dr. Chater and both my boys and myself agree that he is the BEST dentist we have had.

The staff are Super polite and friendly and do everything to make you comfortable!

Best office in all of Kingston, not just for dental but out of any healthcare related office I’ve been in. Every single person here is incredibly caring and beyond amazing at what they do. It is nothing but comfortable when you’re in the waiting room and everyone is supportive when you’re in the office getting your teeth worked on. If you have dental anxiety, this is the place to be.

Everything was amazing and we still forgave them for pulling the wrong tooth for my 10 years old, but it's the way they treated us in the end that brought down the rating to one star. Very bad patient, or should I say customer service experience. Interesting enough, they are saying they have had bad experience with us. I guess it was because we filed a complaint with their head office when they refused to take ownership of the mistake of pulling the wrong tooth.

I went to have a chipped tooth fixed. It was done very fast and they made sure I was fully frozen before starting. The staff was so nice as well!

I've always had a fear of dentists, thanks to a bad experience when I was younger. But from the minute I walked into Altima Dental all I felt was the warm welcome. Dr. Chater and his team made me feel safe and comfortable and made the experience a pleasant one. I'm happy that I've finally found a dental office where the people actually CARE about their patients.

I love going to the dentist! I have been going to Altima for about five years, maybe more. I chose Dr. Chater to be our dentist my first visit there when I overheard his interactions with another patient/client. I said that was who I wanted for a dentist. He was so great with that person and has been great with us as well. Megan is our dental hygienist. She is super sweet and pretty amazing with my son and says the nicest things about him! I couldn’t appreciate her more! Thanks Megan ️

I had work done there and came every six months for a cleaning. They stuff was mixed, sometimes friendly, sometimes not. I am on a fixed income and don’t have everything covered. They would make me call the insurance place to find out what is covered and the insurance people would only talk to them.

The thing that made me leave is I had work done, they didn’t explain what “we will have to find a better solution later (paraphrased, a bit), ” meant, which turned out to mean that work done wasn’t a permanent fix and a tooth came out (didn’t tell me that could happen - very shocked - when it happened) and solutions would cost $800-$3000 to repair. Had they explained any of that to me, I could have put money aside and been prepared when the tooth needed “a better solution, ” or to be replaced.

I know a lot of businesses run like this, they don’t care about you - unless you have money. Still, it is dehumanizing experience.

After posting this review (I’m not sure if people can see/read it) Altima wrote to me - they are unable to find my name in their system and asked if I have the correct place.

It doesn’t shock me that they can’t find my name in their files. It is nothing short of insulting to suggest that I may not have the correct place (for review), I know exactly where I went. And there is a PICTURE and ADDRESS so clearly displayed and attached to this review.

As I stated previously - I prefer not to do business with Altima - so, NO I won’t call to talk about my experience.

Always so friendly it feels like hanging out with close friends; always learn something new about my dental care; only dentist that is able to calm me down before and during dental care/repairs. Huge amount of respect & trust for my entire dental care team!

I called yesterday and they told me they were booked until November and to call back if I couldn't get in anywhere else, today when I call back after calling places all day yesterday all of a sudden they can't get me in now. Yesterday they could except new patients but today they cant. Horrible customer service. They know I have been dealing with a abscess for 6 months and won't book me a appointment. Should tell you all you need to know about how they feel about patients.

Sadly have to edit this review. I have started seeing a new dentist due to budget issues and was informed that the last of my wisdom teeth needed to be removed as well and was already exposed. I had asked Altima several times while there if that one needed to be removed when the others did as it would have saved me money and having to be put under more than once and was assured that it would not need removing and would be fine to be left where it was. Now because of that I have to spend more money seeing a oral surgeon to have this tooth removed. Strongly suggest anyone else going here get a second opinion

Went in today to have my wisdom teeth removed and the service was amazing, I tend to be very anxious and strongly dislike going to the doctor or dentist if I can avoid it. Hence why I hadnt gone even once from the time I was about 8ish till recently when my Wisdom tooth was acting up. I called them a few weeks back when the pain started and they had me in within a few days, then had the appointment for the removal set quickly for me after that. They also helped greatly when I did not have my health card on hand to ensure I was able to get the pain meds that I needed. Today when we went in they were very polite and explained things to me and my boyfriend quickly and easily, and the nurse who gave me the IV has god hands I swear as she was able to find a vein quickly when even my family doctor takes 20+ min to find one on a good day. Past that point I don't really remember the surgery as I was sedated but my one complaint was that when i was taken out of the room I sat for a bit in a wheelchair near the reception not able to move.though that was dealt with quick and might have just been a matter of them not realizing that my boyfriend was allready there to take me home. Over all they were quick, friendly and always professional and I will be recommending everyone I know go here.

My family moved to the Altima Dental Clinic after 25 years of being with another Clinic where our care seemed to deteriorate over time. We cannot say enough about the fabulous care we are receiving. Dr. Chater is an outstanding dentist and is always responsive to the needs of our oral health. He is down to earth and explains the reasons for moving forward with a particular procedure in a way that allows us to make sometimes hard decisions about next steps. You are never surprised because he talks to you throughout procedures. He is compassionate and caring as well as skilled and was truly a blessing for our family. We couldn't be happier with our decision to start going to Altima Kingston.

An excellent dental office! The staff is wonderful. I went there for my Invisalign treatment as well as other dental work and regular cleanings. This is where my children go as well and they always have a positive experience for their cleanings. I can’t say enough great things!

My new hygienist VIcky was AWESOME.
She was gentle, listened to my concerns, very informative and very personable. Visiting the dentist is not my most favorite place to go but Vicky made my experience comfortable.

Amazing dental clinic. The staff is amazing and bend over backwards to help you get your dental needs. The dentist was also very good and he made sure that I was comfortable through the whole procedure. I'm very pleased with Altima Dental in Kingston.

Appointment booking was such a breeze. After completing a short online booking request form, the admin called me next day with plethora of available dates/times. The clinic schedule is very flexible, and they have after-hours+weekend spots as well. The teeth cleaning experience was simply delightful! Megan, dental hygienist, did a great job and explained to me everything that she was doing. Finally, Dr. Chater arrived promptly and went over options for my bridge problem. I strongly recommend Altima Kingston +. P. S.they also do direct insurance billing and have a clinic specialist who advocates on our behalf with the insurance company.

Thank you Dr Chater for giving me the confidence to smile again! With covid, finding a new dentist was hard, not to mention finding a dr I was comfortable with. The whole process over the last two years was professional and reassuring. The end result has finally given me back my smile without a mask.and I am ready to show the world.but we will start with Kingston!

Would highly recommend Altima Kingston Dental Centre. Like most people I know going to the dentist is not something that is looked forward to. At Altima Dental the staff and Dr Chater make you feel so at ease. Dr Chater explains everything and is always concerned about how I am feeling during any procedure I am having done. He truly cares about his patients and I feel very fortunate to have him as my dentist.

Who knew my fear of going to the dentist has been unwarranted! The whole staff at Altima are very caring people good at what they do! Little pain at all! I now know why my claim was denied. Being stressed from being at the dentist, I gave the receptionist the wrong insurance card. Oops! Everything has been taken care of and my reimbursement check is on it's way!

Altima Dental, Dr. Chada (sorry if I’ve misspelt) and his assistant (never caught her name) are amazing. I’ve had terrible experience with dentists in the past and let them know and they have accommodated my fears and have been excellent with taking care of my teeth. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Even when I had an emergency Dr. Chada and his team have done everything in their power, even with Covid, to make sure I was taken care of. (Understanding not immediate but within reason). Again highly recommend. Thank you for everything!

My first appointment at this clinic. I was extremely impressed with the staff and the equipment used. The hygenist (Kristen) was so caring and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain the processes she used and listened to my concerns, fears, and needs. Dr. Chater was very friendly, and also took my concerns and wishes into consideration. I have already recommended this dental centre to various family members, some of whom will be booking appointments in the near future.

I used to come here when I was younger and absolutely loved it. I struggle with anxiety and used to receive ODSP for it. Everyone was always so kind and welcoming it seemed. I had missed a few appointments 3 years ago when I was really struggling with my mental health and sometimes couldn’t get past the door. Also still very young might I add. Now as an adult who’s worked very hard to deal with their mental health, no longer receive odsp and do things like go to work AND appointments im being told I can’t book an appointment there ever again because I missed some as an anxious kid. I thought this was somewhere I could feel comfortable going back to for my dental care. When I questioned them about my anxiety I was told that it doesn’t matter. What a stuck up group of people who don’t have room for second chances. All about the dollar here. Guess I misjudged this place when I liked it. Things like this are why people who struggle never go back out and try again.

I found my visit exceptional. The staff was friendly while still being professional. I have many bad experiences without dentists but since I have gone to this clinic I feel no apprehension at all to visit regularly.
This facility gets a 10 rating.

Clueless and ignorant staff who lack professionalism and just plain common sense. I suggest a new hiring of staff for the entire establishment which would be in the public's best interests as their current staff are inadequate unfortunately.

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE BY SCHEDULING DOUBLE BOOKINGS AND THEN CANCELLING AT THE LAST MINUTE THEN FAILING TO TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION IN A TIMELY MANNER AND THEN FURTHERMORE LYING AND BEING DECEITFUL IN THEIR INTERPRETATION OF HOW EVENTS UNFOLDED AND MY TIME WAS WASTED AND NO APOLOGIES WERE GIVEN TO ME YET AGAIN FOR THEIR OWN ERROR. I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS DENTAL OFFICE TO ANYBODY AND KINGSTONIANS SHOULD AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. POORLY TRAINED STAFF WHO LACK ANY SENSITIVITY TRAINING - EXTREMELY LOW QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND A LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM BY THE STAFF AND IN THE MANNER IN WHICH THIS BUSINESS CONDUCTS ITSELF. COMPLETELY DISGUSTED AND HIGHLY OFFENDED BY THE ARROGANCE AND INCONSIDERATE AND CRASS, UNPROFESSIONAL AND INADEQUATE STAFF THEY HAVE EMPLOYED AT THEIR BUSINESS. SHAME.

Had 5 teeth fixed. No pain today. Last dentist got one maybe two fixed was in throbbing pain for months.

I have had cards written with appointments the past three times and i have my email confotmation pictures attached and each tome im told they have no record of my appoinment the dentist's gone!? ! So no call.ive paid to get thrte and back each time and now the tooth which couldve been saved, cant.i get told to pay 50 dollars if i cancel short notice but no one is responsible for this.here are my emails for past teo times they had no record firdt time tgey at least called when i was on way that its cancelled.

The front staff were very friendly and the assistant but I found the dentist very unpleasant and harsh I left feeling lousy not an enjoyable experience I will be looking elsewhere for my dental needs

The reason for leaving a one star rating. Was never treated by the dentist. Plenty of phone calls, from the polite, friendly receptionist.
Canceled or switched appointments on me, a few different times. I live 30 minutes outside the city, wasn't easy to drop everything when they had a cancelation, 2 hours in advance. Then the xmas holidays, then covid. Then I'm told sorry, you can't get be seen. WTH. That's why you received a 1 star rating. Have a pleasant day!

Amazing staff! Everyone has always been excellent to deal with and helpful especially during an emergency situation.

I do not recommend this dental facility. The staff are so darn lazy to call patience to get confirmation for appointments. They just sit around and the office socializing with their coworkers. Warning stay away from this dental facility.

They are very kind, easy to talk too, out going, They put you first, and try to do want works for you.

Despite Covid 19, I was still greeted in a friendly manor. The staff was kind and helpful. Totally recommend for new patients.

My hygienist was fantastic.
She is extremely friendly, understanding, a fantastic memory (she remembered that I am a huge Christmas junkie and was getting married in December 18), and attentive.

Dr Kavita was exceptional. I’m from out of town and when I needed emergency dental for a very sore tooth she saw me right away and took very good care of me.

I have visited Altima Dental for about seven years and Dr. Chater (spelling?) is my dentist. Dr. Chater is probably the best dentist I have ever had. He performed a wisdom tooth extraction so well that I didn't even realize it was out until I saw it on the tray. Most recently (April 8 2019) I went for a cleaning and Megan performed it. She was polite, perky, professional and she did a thorough and good job.

These comments are about my most recent visit (Aug. 19,2019). I went for a cleaning and checkup and everything went smoothly. X-rays were the first to be done then followed a very thorough cleaning then an examination by Dr. Chater. The whole appointment took a little over an hour and I left very satisfied (no cavities) )
Reception was friendly as usual, I was taken in early, the cleaning was very well done and Dr. Chater was his usual friendly, professional self. All this coupled with good news gets five stars from me.
I still highly recommend Altima Dental!
