Altona Kabob

The owner is horrible we are a regular clients and he knows us but still mean to us. We only ask to taste one food and he said no. Their food is usually good but this time it was spoiled

I wanted to share my feedback regarding your restaurant. The food is excellent, but there seems to be inconsistency in pricing every time I visit. Specifically, when I ordered item #7, which typically comes with a complimentary water or soda, I received only the meal without a beverage. When I brought up the issue, the staff informed me that the drink was not included, contrary to what is stated on the menu and displayed in the restaurant. Please ensure transparency and honesty with your customers. It's crucial for customer trust. Thank you.

Great place. The quality of food and hygiene at this price point is unmatchable. Their koobideh platter is really nice. A must try with the black lentil stew

My cousin brought Kebab and Chicken from the Altona Kabob. It's tasty and delicious. Can't wait to go there next weekend!

High quality kebabs at a very reasonable price. I love the charcoal flavor. The quantity is amazing. The rice flavor is very good.

Add the sumac on the side and it just kicks it into fifth gear. To take it up a notch, they have an amazing Tzatiki and Hot sauce. You have to ask for it though. I didn’t like the fact that they charge for it too. $1.25 each!

The Koobideh (ground beef skewer) and Vaziri (Chicken Leg) were my favorites. The chicken cutlet was also really good.

Overall one of the top kebab places. Very unassuming.

Don’t forget to grab dessert and pastry at the supermarket next door.

Took my guests from States and they loved it. I been going this place from years. Love the kebabs and specially liver. Owner is so friendly and a wonderful host. Love it for late night dinner

Absolutely racist staff, not just me that has noticed. What a joke of a restaurant, in Canada nonetheless! Disgusting!

Treats locals, like me, who have lived in Newtonbrook my entire life, like absolute trash. Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. The old man running the place only treats you with respect if you are the same ethnicity of him. This place should be shut down.

You treat someone poorly because they only speak English? In Ontario? What planet is this owner from?

This has happened 4 times to me, 3 times to my other friend, and one time to my mother. NEVER GO HERE, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.

Koobide was completely red color however it was fully cooked! Rise taste like soil, and tasteless

You are such hood guy, dont drop the quality to save money or compete! People understand and stop coming back. I used to come to your restaurant every single night. But not anymore

Best Place to have Kebab! Specially When everywhere is close! Affordable price, high quality and friendly customer service!

I got double charged at the restaurant for extra food I did not order. The quality and taste of the food varies - sometimes it is great, other times it is just ok. However, the real issue with this place is the restaurant owner, who was rude and did not care to resolve the issue. Will not be ordering here again.

The lady middle age at the entrance her attitude was awful. Didn’t like taste also. Don’t spend penny here.

Today me and my friends came here to have a dinner and we ordered 2 meals and then we saw there is 3 items in our bill when we mentioned this to the cashier women she started to yelling at us and told me to shut up! We asked for their manager and she said she is THE MANAGER! I never gonna be back to this place and i will make sure anyone i know do the same thing! Shame…

Service was so bad! The lady was so rude and grumpy! Very bad experience. Don't waste your time or money here!

I am updating my review to 5 stars now. They almost addressed all my complaints in the past years. The combination of great taste and great price cannot go wrong!

The variety of foods and selection of different foods is just great. Add to the fact that they are usually open through midnight.

I add some minus points and hope they get addressed.
1: there are some food items that are just not on the menus. Wood be nice if they get added to the big menus properly.
2: sometimes the koobideh seems to be a bit burnt out.

Great service. Polite, respectful. Always got my phone orders right. Food is fantastic and inexpensive compared to other restaurants.

We came here earlier tonight to have a peaceful dinner, when we ordered and received our bill there was an extra item in it and when we asked the cashier lady she started to yell at us and she told one of my friend to shut up! I still can’t believe this! Never going back to this awful place!

I love Persian food and there is no better place to get it than here in the Persian ghetto in North York. I always get the vaziri, the portion is huge and the flavour and texture were on point.

I have been to this restaurant so many times in the past 4 years; always great quality food for the price. Don't have fine dining expectations. Overall, I have had great experience, ordering take out and dining in here.

Food is OK. However the place is run down and dirty. Don't be shy to go to the basement and check the bathrooms. It says a lot about the owner. Last night I had ground beef kabob (koobideh) and it didn't feel right in my tummy. Today I'm having liquid come out of the wrong area. I'm not returning.

In the past it was perfect restaurant for quality and customer’s service but recently both drops down specially their customer service. A lady work there as a cashier that she doesn’t good behaviour with their customer. I hope they try to improve their defect specifically their customer service because it was my favourite restaurant for over 3 last years.

We order koobideh everytime we go. The food is very consistent. Price is good. Quick Service and nice staff.

I used to order from here all the time and had continued to order here even after the experience below. I was young, recently had moved to Toronto and I would order multiple meals at a time for the week. I’ve finally decided to write my experience cause looking back now, I realize it’s so wrong to take advantage of someone over a few dollars.

The owner had overcharged me a few times as he would add $1.99 “salad” even though I never ordered it. When I finally said something, the owner stated that it was because it was a larger lamb shank (baghale polo) so he needed to charge the extra fee. When I finally disputed it, he never charged extra fees/charges again.

My biggest disappointment was continuing to support a business that would do this for a few dollars.

I love this spot, been visiting for years. So many vegetarian and even vegan options for a kabob shop! Lots of parking and though the meat is bbq on the spot the service is speedy.

My food was good. Kebobs of I forget which variety, but tender and juicy. Went down easy and rice was well prepared too, with the sweet berries. Order came very quickly too. They know what they're doing and for this price point, there are few other places which could do any better. Only wish they had more bread options, something thick and chewy to go with the meal would have been great

Good kabob. Food taste is 4/5 but because I love the fact it is open late until 4 am I will give 5 stars. I usually get the Altona Special which comes with 3 different kabobs.

Place is not clean. Portion is not right. Quality is not good. Owner is a rip off artist. Make sure you double check your recipe before you leave. He will charge you for looking at him twice. If you want a good Persian food you go to a place that the owner is persian.for $5 more on one order you can go to a 5star Persian restaurants.very high prices for a fast food small business.

Awesome food. Meats are freshly cooked. The meats are literally in a skewer in a cooler, and put on a grill when you order. Always fun to watch the chefs cook the skewers.

Great place for koobidei (ground beef), vaziri (chicken) kebobs. Combos are great for take out and comes with a drink. Recently they've changed from Styrofoam container to an aluminum foil one

I am a big fan of Persian Cuisine, but this takeout was literally the worst food I've ever had. They are situated in a very good location with many other good options; decided to give them a try and I am highly disappointed. Amazed on how they have been able to stay in business this long.

It looks like their rice quantity is decreasing week by week) other than they have the Iranian quality in meat. Kabab and chicken. No2 for beef 8 for beef and chicken.

Ordered a kebab and a lamb shank meal came home realized that my lamb shank was mixed up with someone else’s kebab meal so I drove back to the store expecting them to replace my kebab meal which I brought to them for the lamb shank. However, the store owner thought that I should be bringing both meals back because apparently one of my meals that I had taken was a higher priced meal that she accidentally had given me. So we discussed and I felt that this was not my mistake they should just replace the kebab meal I had returned for the lamb shank that I had originally purchased. In the end I decided to reason with them and pay 1/2 of the difference of the price that I should have paid given they made a mistake and giving me a larger kebab meal that was at home. The total cost was $15 of which I paid 1/2, $7.50. When I went home I realize that they didn’t give me the nice Garner’s they typically give you with a lamb shank and that my lamb shank wise 1/2 the size of other lamb shanks, pretty much all bone. So I am very upset with having to pay more money for someone else’s mistake let alone a restaurant. I am more upset at the insult of going home and finding out that I had been given a very tiny lamb shank. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this place. Also, food was mediocre.

Rude service and unbelievably tiny portion of the food. Advertising fake food pictures with totally different servings. Nobody in the store understands English, cannot even get your orders right. Worst Kabab store in GTA.

Will not ever come back again and this place does not deserve even one star.

I ordered. People before and after me got their food but not me. After 15 minutes waiting, they asked what was my order. Then they start making it.

Nice food but a bit pricy. Good portions tho but sometimes you have to have a buddy to eat with ya or save it for tmrw. Still has to take 5 star

This business has changed hands many times over the years, and from good to bad to great and ups and downs. But nevertheless it is good quality food, as most of the restaurants in GTA, prices increased over pandemic, but has space for dining but not a place to go for a date more like dudes hang out and take out.

Spend few dollar more and eat some real kabob. Nothing but breadcrumbs, onion and egg.rice was cheapest you could buy at Foodbasic or asian wholesalers market. Wont get my 15min ever back and wont ever go back.

They offer various fresh foods with high quality. I specifically like their Kebob as they don’t make it very oily and it tastes natural. Their prices are also reasonable and above all, they normally have Tahdig:)

The two stars are for the delicious kebab they make and the reason im not giving them five stars is because of the lamp’s head (Kale Pache). We were regular customers of this specific food and happy with the price and the portion as it was just right for two people. But suddenly in April this year.things changed. The portion size shrunk drastically that it’s not even enough for one person (look at the pictures). We complained to the owner twice and he said nothing changed! What a lie! Regular customers cannot be fooled, they just leave and never come back!

I like the food a lot. I go there often. The meat is delicious and well cooked. I take the Vaziri chicken breast. It comes with beef too which is amazing. I highly recommend this place.

Best value for the money. Proper Kabobs. NICE PEOPLE. Better than that place next door.much better! I go there regularly ever since I took a chance and tried them!
