Ambiyan On Yonge

I had the opportunity to dine at ambiyan today and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting and the service was top-notch. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations for our meal. Speaking of which, the food was absolutely delicious. We indulged in a variety of dishes including prawn masala, chicken tikka, lamb shank, lamb curry, chicken curry, paneer curry, and dal makhni - each bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. To complement our meal, we savored some delightful cocktails, including martinis, kingfisher, and cosmopolitan. I highly recommend trying the Mango Martini, it was a true highlight. Overall, I cannot praise ambiyan enough for their impeccable service, delectable cuisine, and delightful cocktails. It's safe to say that I will be returning soon and sharing my positive experience with others.

Delicious food, Nice ambience and friendly staff. It will definitely be a go-to place for us. We have been looking for such authentic Indian food since long and glad that finally came across this hidden gem.

The ambience was good. We ordered saffron basmati rice and we couldn't even find a single saffron by luck which is 7 plus taxes. Beware these guys are looting 5 dollars extra for just asking hot water (for just heating up the chlorinated tap water), even though we didn't ask for a bottled water. The lamb was bit old and covered up with masala. Overall it's not a worthy restaurant to dine in. Missed to check many negative reviews before checking in. Better checkout better indian restaurants.

We didn't ask for any specific brand bottled water. Moreover the saffron basmati rice had only regular rice smell and not saffron scented.

After a long time I visit an amazing Indian Restaurant. The experience was amazing and our Service was on point. Our server was Tanvi and She recommended us some excellent Vegetarian Options. For Sure I will visit the restaurant again!

Tanvir was an amazing server at Ambiyan. Lovely food, drinks, and vibe. Came here for Diwali, enjoyed a lot.

Best fine dine Indian restaurant I have experienced so far in Canada. We were 2 families and ordered set menu meals (3 course meal)

1. Food: 5 star- every single dish was yum
2. Service: 5 star - Super excellent service by Ms Tanvir. She served with a smile and kept a check on refills.
3. Ambience: 4 star- No complaints. Place has got a positive vibe.
4. Menu: 5 star
5. Pricing: super genuine pricing.

A must visit place for indian food.

Improvement: pls keep your washrooms clean and all toiletries refilled. Soap dispenser was not working, there were no paper towels or hand drier.

Great restaurant. I tried them for the first after I saw them on uber eats. The butter chicken and chana masala were wonderful. The pakoras were fresh and full of vegetables. The flavour profile of the food had many levels. One thing I noticed is that these dish items are normally spicier, however they're mild, I'd definitely prefer a bit more heat, but for my wife that eats mild, she was in heaven. So that's a plus!

This place is clutch, it has fed my gf/ partner with delicious affordable meals on more nights than I can count. Truly a gem

Was expecting this to be an overrated place but all the items we ordered were excellent. My family and I went on a holiday, there were 7 of us but luckily it wasn't too busy that the staff were able to provide good service to us. Interior decor is unique and they don't have loud music blasting so you can actually talk to one another. It's a little on the pricer side but I would definitely go back again for a date night or a special occasion.

Amazing. I’ve been here over ten times and every single time the dishes are fantastic. The owner and entire team are incredibly welcoming. The restaurant is beautiful. Highly recommend.

Was here for the first time tonight, delicious and fresh food with a pleasant ambience. Great place to dine in if you’re looking for delish Indian cuisines. Staff is amicable, provided good service. Highly recommend!

Came here for a date night. I don't get Indian food enough to know for sure but I really enjoyed everything we got from the fried cauliflower to the curries.

Ordered the butter chicken and garlic naan for takeout. Butter chicken is FAR too salty, it’s inedible. Had to throw it out. Not what you want for spending $25 on one dish

The food quantity was barely anything. Every dish tastes sweet and spicy.
I was given silverware with quite visible food stains on it.
The management needs to hire more on-floor staff.
2 stars for the amazing Sheekh kebab.

The best place to have parties, Its so reasonable with tasty choices of both veg and non-veg. Must try if you are looking for indian restaurant in downtown!

Best place to Dine in during Dinner time. The ambience was really Good and the staffs were friendly and the food was really tasty (Best Indian restaurants to try in Toronto). This is the second time I went, would go again anytime soon.

We ordered take-out from Ambiyan on Yonge. All of the food was superb. The Chicken Tikka Masala was perfection with crunchy red peppers and other delicious vegetables. The garlic naan was indescribably wonderful. The samosa was crunchy on the outside yet tender on the inside.
The chutney was tangy yet sweet. Best Indian food in the city. A little taste of supreme heavenly deliciousness in Midtown. Do not miss this fabulous tasting experience!

Quality food and generous quantity! Worth spending money if you're looking for a decent indian food in toronto! I've been to other indian restaurants but they would make all the dishes sweet! However, ambiyan didn't make it sweet! I'm pretty sure if you ask them to make your food spicy they'd do it! Staff was really welcoming and considerate! Overall loved the experience!

Spot on for whenever you're craving Indian cuisine. Good selection of vegetarian options, and not too spicy if you're ordering something that can be made with a low spice level. The mains are delicious, and I particularly enjoy their naan bread as a side. Good portions and fair pricing.

Excellent quality and taste. We have ordered from this restaurant on multiple occasion and have never been disappointed. Food is always fresh and tasty.our favorites are Veg Biryani, Daal makhani and Paneer tikka masala.

This restaurant is beautiful, classy, and offers great value and service with delicious food. Well chosen, quiet location, as well.

We had lamb Biryani and creamy eggplants! Simply delicious! What I found weird, was their policy on not sharing! My husband and I were not hungry much, so decided to order a their lunch special and share! But they say you can’t! You have to buy separate!
We also liked to sot in the patio but they were cleaning the pathway using Detergent! Not possible at all!

The food was great specially the chicken kebabs, service and ambience was great. Definitely visiting again.

This is a wonderful restaurant. I'd ordered takeout from here which was delicious, so I wanted to take my Mom to the restaurant for dinner. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was great. The food was even better the second time. The Barta was creamy and perfect. The garlic naan was fresh and very nice.

Wow—the food here is just excellent! The Vegan Chana Masala and Dhaba Chicken Curry were just bursting with flavour. Will most definitely be returning.

Samosas were amazing and naan was delightful! Filled up too much so will have to come back for the rest of the menu

Had the Winter Special for $50 with a friend. We dined in. Excellent service. The samosa appetizer was superb along with the chicken and lamb curries which we shared.

I finally tried the downtown Toronto location for this restaurant and LOVED it - I have been to the Markham one several times so it was nice to see how this one was different. It was conveniently located next to a Green P lot which was only $6 for the whole night after 6pm. The restaurant itself was SO good: We got the vegetable samosas to start (they were MASSIVE and filling), tandoori chicken tikka (the cubes of chicken were massive, juicy and beautifully marinated) and onion bhaji (also very good). We were already full just from the appetizers but we wanted leftovers for the next day so we didn't mind haha. For our mains we tried the butter chicken which was very flavourful and juicy, paneer tikka masala (loved the nice balance of veggies and paneer) and the beef vindaloo. Everything was super filling and our bellies were happy - we had plenty of leftovers the next day which continued to taste amazing. We can't wait to be back once the weather warms up so we can sit outside on their patio:)

I've ordered from them a few times and it's very good food. The paneer is nice and soft, the butter chicken was tender and had a lovely flavour. The rasmalai is so good! My favourite dessert. I did try the kheer and it wasn't good - I think it may have gone bad. It looked good but the taste was like sour milk and bitter. It happens, it won't stop me from ordering from them again. I'd never had kheer before, so maybe that's how it's supposed to taste, but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a sweet dish, not a sour bitter one.

I ordered on Ubereats from Ambiyan and got the Lamb biryani, Lamb curry and garlic naan. Unfortunately, I was not a huge fan of the lamb biryani or lamb curry. Both tasted more on the sweet side rather than flavorful authentic Indian food. For the ratings and price, I really expected better but it was quite a disappointment. I could hardly taste any of the spices. However, the garlic naan was really good. I will not be ordering or visiting Ambiyan again unfortunately as I did not find value or taste in the meal.

Got delivery via Ubereats. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, but I found that the pieces were small and barely enough. It was also very expensive ($20.99) considering I had to pay extra for the naan. If not for the BOGO deal, I wouldn't have gotten it.

I also got the vegan tikki trio appetizer. That was very, very dry and a complete letdown. It almost tasted like it had been frozen and/or preheated. I couldn't take more than a few bites of the spinach one because it was hard, dry and tasteless.

Overall, the butter chicken was good but not enough to justify the price. The appetizer also came up short. I'd probably look elsewhere for Indian food.

Have only ordered food from here so far. They have nailed it every time. The food arrives hot, so flavorful and authentic. Nothing is either overly oily nor extra spicy. Great quality ingredients. Garlic Naans are the best I've had in a long time. Keep it up y'all!

Loved the butter chicken, cauliflower, naan and paneer. So happy to have a new neighborhood spot. I discovered this restaurant in Delisle Court today (space where Cava was for years) —they were very busy at lunch.

Awesome! The best Indian restaurant in Toronto- EVER. They just opened and their quality is AMAZING much better than any previous Indian restaurants experienced in the city. Very cosy and too. Amazing curries and non-curry dishes. GREAT Happy Hour drink prices too! You'll be hooked after one meal. Paul the manager will warmly welcome you.

Excellent birthday celebration, food was the best Indian cuisine I’ve had in Toronto, service was fantastic and the ambience made the experience a memorable one! This is definitely going to be our “go to” restaurant for every celebration from here on! Thanks Ambiyan!
