I hadn’t had my hair cut in 2 years and it was my first time here. My hairdresser was called Emine. I absolutely loved the final results. I told her I wanted long layers at a certain length and a short trim at the bottom and shower her ‘inspiration’ pictures of what I wanted~ and she delivered. My hair was due for some quick styling and she did it very well. She was very kind too:) I suggest this hair salon!

Honestly, just don't go there.

I had been going to this salon for over a year, I initially was booked with Amanda but she left. When asked for a suggestion as to who would be best to continue bleaching my hair (going from really dark brown to blonde can be pretty tricky, and not everyone can do a good job of it) I was referred to Kyra.
My first few appointments went great, despite starting off with a nice honey shade of blonde which i was hoping would be maintained, i ended which platinum blonde hair which I actually liked.
Fast forward a few months (and a few root touch up to keep up with the colour) my hair started breaking at a scary fast pace. On my next appointment I asked to go back to my natural colour to avoid further damage to my hair, but I was too late. Over the following month my long hair was nothing more a uneven long bob due to all my hair breaking at different placed over my head, resulting in a very uneven "haircut".
When I emailed the salon management, I was told that breakage with bleach was normal and expected. I'm fully aware of how damaging bleach could be, but i had bleached my hair many many years ago and managed to do it without almost going bald. It's safe to say I was expecting better results considering the price I was paying for these treatments.

Update following their response:
1. I have not received a call or message from your salon
2. There was no 20 minute consultation, Kyra mentioned some breakage but not f***ing CHUNKS of hair falling out.
3. I actually don't blow-dry or use heated styling tools, so that excuse is invalid.
4. Nothing you can offer will bring back the 14 inches of hair I've completely lost because of this, so how can even talk about customer satisfaction.

I love Ambrida for its relaxing atmosphere and professional stylists! Amal is amazing in creating wonderful blonde shades to die for! Always a wonderful experience @ Ambrida and I am absolutely obsessed wit the results!

I got a bridal ponytail hairstyle for my sisters wedding done by Emine. She was so professional and quick, a truly talented hairstylist. I’m so glad I went to her! She made my hair look FANTASTIC and it looked even better than the picture I showed her. I brought my own fancy hair clip and my hair was done in 40 minutes. I hands down think her hairstyling is one of the best I’ve seen. She was professional, understanding, collaborative and knowledgeable. I received so many compliments! Her energy is amazing too, I felt so relaxed and taken care of. I’ll definitely be back again.

I have black asian hair and was hesitant about getting my hair coloured because of previous bad experiences at other hair salons, but I’m so happy I decided to take a chance with Ambrida!

Amal was very patient and knew exactly what I wanted done. She even made suggestions along the way and I’m so happy with my cinnamon blonde balayage. I wasn’t sure I would be able to get my hair this light, but she worked her magic and I will definitely be coming back for touch ups as my hair grows out.

Marcia was also very sweet and trims my hair. I originally wanted a v-cut, but my hair isn’t quite long enough for the look that I wanted, so she kindly explained the situation and we’ve decided to trim it as it grows out to get it the way I want it eventually.

All the girls are super supportive! I recommend this salon to all my friends and family now.

This salon is wonderful! All the staff are friendly and the environment is pleasant. Their pricing is quite reasonable in my opinion. My stylist, Eminé, is very skilled and she listens to what I want. I watched her one day style a walk in customer who wanted her to fix an unsuccessful cut by another salon. She said her hair was thin in places and not easy to style. Eminé listened carefully and proceeded to giver her a cut that looked amazing, and the customer was thrilled. I began going to Eminé when my stylist retired. I had been with her for 30 years, so I was very nervous about finding someone new. Eminé has done an amazing job for the past 3 years, and my hair is far from easy to work with.

Went today for a hair cut.showed the girl a picture.she said she could do it. I noticed half way thru that she already went shorter and off style.so settled for a second option, which she totally botched too.and she gave some excuse to why it was my hairs textures fault. I sat in my car and cried and now look like I belong in prison.

Edit: owner response tried to justify this bad cut as a shock. I've shaved my head twice, that stuff doesn't phase me. It was a BAD haircut, plain and simple.

I recently got my hair cut and styled by Mavish and I’m so happy to say I found my forever hair dresser! She gave me exactly what I was looking for my hair feels healthier she gave me the exact look I was going for and she is extremely nice! Thanks again Mavish and I can’t wait for my next appointment with you!

Got the best haircut I've ever had with Mavish! I have VERY thick hair and it's hard to manage and she thinned it well and was precise with how much hair I asked her to cut. Definitely going back! Also would like to add, I love the positive vibe of Ambrida Salon and the staff is very helpful.

Never been there before and I was worry. They make me feel confortable and got a spot right away. Don’t remember the name of my hairdresser but, I’ll remember her face. I started seeing Amal a couple months ago and let me say, my hair has never looked better! She brought my box dye brown quarantine hair back to life with a beautiful balayage (before and after in the photos, as well as my most recent look). Looking forward to having her do my hair for my wedding! Thank you Amal, and Ambrida for the great atmosphere!

I decided to get my hair cut last minute and Ambrida was able to fit me in within the hour! I got put with Kari, and right away she was very pleasant and professional. She had a good grasp of what I wanted and we started right away! Kari was very easy to talk to and she took great interest in what I had to say. When my hair was finished I was shocked! It looked perfect! I loved the shape of my bob for once! (I have had many bad cuts before!) She was able to correct my hair and made it look picture perfect! I can't wait to get my hair cut again by Kari, we are already planning to add color! Thank you so much!

Went in trying to go back to my natural hair colour. Started off with blue hair. The process ended up taking longer than I antispated however they were kinda and pretty amazing. They ended up getting the perfect colour. Kari and Mavish were really great and professional. I'm glad to have gotten it done by them and thanks for making this experience a great one!

I am so happy with my hair transformation thanks to the wonderful stylist Mavish! Almost a year ago I got my hair done at another salon, and what once was blonde was practically orange. I went to Mavish with the idea of going lighter, but unsure of what I wanted exactly. She gave me some suggestions and went above and beyond! She took her time to make sure everything was perfect. The final result was a beautiful blonde balayage. Mavish was super nice and very professional. The whole team was friendly and attentive! It’s been 2 years since i had the good fortune of walking into Ambrida in an attempt to fix a bad haircut from another salon, and after just returning today, once again, the best surprise is NO SURPRISE! Even though I have very thick hair, I have always received the BEST cut ‘n colour from Shamim and she never disappoints. Shamim listens, asks the right questions and then weaves her magic scissors expertly and professionally.)

My Ambrida Salon experience was outstanding with great and welcoming staff. Emine did a wonderful job with my hair she did a balayage with a medium layer haircut. The before and after results blew my mind. Emines dedication and time and effort really did its work. She is marvelous. So grateful to have Emine as my hairstylist. Ambrida Salon is very professional and I recommend to all.

I asked for cool blonde balayage and got chunky copper hilights. Kicker is I paid $350 for this service. I told The stylist I wasn’t impressed and wanted it corrected she didn’t seem to care and I scheduled for the next open day. I’m not even sure I can get what I want so may have to settle for something else. I’ve never paid so much for balayage in my life.
Other staff member Amal is lovely. Owner has reached to try and correct situation which I appreciate.

Got my haircut and styled by Christina last weekend and loved the magic she was able to create! They've been my go to hairdressers for about 2 years now and every time I go I am reminded why. Amal is literally the best hairdresser I have ever had. She's super talented and did a trim and highlights on my uneven and lifeless hair and completely transformed it. I had the best experience colouring my hair for the first time. Kyra knew exactly what she was doing and the whole process was so much fun and enjoyable. Kyra is the colour queen! Definitely going back.:)

I think a rating really depends on the stylist that you have, but I've been going to Ambrida for over 5 years and have always been pleased with the stylist that I chose from their team. Out of everyone I've had through out the years though, I was most impressed by Emine and will be booking with her in the future.

Its the greatest feeling when you finally find an amazing hair stylist who knows what shes doing. This is the second time I've gotten my hair done by Kyra and I am OVER THE MOON. This girl knows her stuff, cares an insane amount and makes you look and feel amazing. I am so grateful for her and my hair is the healthiest/nicest its ever been. What I really appreciated the most was that she took the time to explain everything, show me tips and tricks AND recommend hair care that actually works instead of just selling a product. I've struggled so much with my hair being on well water and no one has ever been able to help me until Kyra. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. Thank you SO much.

This place charged me $170 to dye my wife’s hair purple
It looked red a week later and all washed out within a month
I do not recommend going to these armatures
Stay away they do not know what they are doing

Had my hair coloured to purple but was very upset when it faded and washed out within a month after being told it wouldn’t for nearly $200 I’m very disappointed to be left with hair that isn’t what I wanted

I went to Ambrida to do full highlights. Hair stylist Amal did my hair and it turned out JUST how I wanted it finally. My hair was black and had box dye in it. It was a last minute decision, I’ve gotten my hair done before from other places and haven’t been satisfied. Amal understood what I wanted and really did an amazing job.

Very expensive and service is not worth it. Went for straightening my hair only no cut no special forms paid $58! I had to redo my hair next day as it was very poorly done.

I went as a walk-in for my 11 y.o. Daughter to get her hair cut. Cindy was our stylist and she was WONDERFUL!
She was patient. She listened to what my daughter wanted, and she offered suggestions before even touching her hair with the scissors. Cindy asks a lot of questions because she wants to make sure you get the cut and style you really want, while making sure it will look good and suit your features.
My daughter loved the cut and she walked out so happy. Wonderful service and team. My daughter said she won't go to anyone else anymore.

Had a wonderful stylist named Kyra. She was vey sweet and friendly. I have very thin straight hair and I have not been lucky to find someone that can blow dry my hair with volume. Well the search is over! Kyra was able to give life to my hair and lasted an entire evening. Thank you Kyra!

I have finally found a stylist who can literary read my mind. Kyra at Ambrida Salon always knows exactly what I want before I say it. She understands my hair needs and always takes the time to explain the steps she’s taking to get the end result I want. She’s a colour queen! She was able to give me the colour I’ve always wanted and make sure my grey is completely covered. Brilliant!

Kyra did an amazing job with balayage highlights to my hair- my mom even said it has the best my hair has ever looked! Would absolutely recommend to anyone and will be going back to Kyra from here on out!

When I moved from Montreal I needed a hair salon. Just down the street from me I found Ambrida. Right from the start I was pleased. The answer to my prayers. They are professional and care about you. You won't leave without a hair out of place.

I took a chance on having my hair cut at Ambrida Salon by someone who I never met before. This could have been a disaster but ended up being an amazing experience and one of my favorite haircuts of all time. I will be back and will be booking with Tanya again. Tanya is actually the 1st hair professional who took the time to chat with me before bringing me to the wash bassin. She really looked at my hair and the images that I brought with me. She asked me pertinent questions about my lifestyle and reason behind the change of style. The conversation was helpful to ensure fabulous results!

Ive been going to Ambrida for over a year now and i get Kyra every time. She is super amazing, always recommending new styles for me and they turn out great. Whenever i have concerns about my hair she knows exactly what i need to do! I definitely recommend everyone to go to Ambrida!

Been to this salon multiple times and never receive anything but amazing service! Their staff are well trained and friendly and listen to what you want, and give advice with their knowledge. The salon is always a clean and welcoming environment. I recommend to al my friends!

I have been to the salon twice and both times with Kyra who is very accommodating and can suggest what will work for you and what will not. I had highlights and a cut done at the end of July and am still getting compliments about the highlights. The colour was perfect. I would recommend the salon and Kyra for a great hair experience.

It is often hard to find a hair stylist that gives you exactly what you want, without even knowing you wanted it! After searching long and hard, Kyra is hands down my favourite hair stylists in Ottawa. She transformed my hair from something average to one my favourite features. Her professional recommendations were spot on and she did a great job at making sure the haircut was exactly how I wanted it (which is not common with most hair stylists). I recommend Kyra 110%!

Allie was my stylist and I found her to be extremely professional and knowledgeable about color and products. My hair looked great and felt healthy, loved the color. Allie had to convince me to have my hair trimmed. I am glad she did because my hair had some damage and split ends. Overall I was very impressed as it was my first time at the salon. I will be back!

Très déçue par ce salon. Personne ne parlait français et la coiffeuse qui m'a coupé les cheveux ne savait vraiment pas ce qu'elle faisait! Tout sauf une professionnelle! Elle a saccagé ma coupe de cheveux surtout sur la mèche en avant. Elle ne s'y connaissait pas du tout en cheveux courts. J'ai du lui dire stop et me lever pour qu'elle arrête la catastrophe car au lieu d'une mèche longue sur le côté je me retrouve avec une frange sur le côté coupée droite c'est la honte!
Même mes filles adolescentes étaient désolées pour moi à mon retour et je ne sais vraiment pas comment je vais pouvoir coiffer cette coupe de cheveux qui est tout sauf féminine jusqu'à ce que cela repousse! Je déconseille fortement ce salon!
