Amica Newmarket

Our dad moved into Amica almost three years ago. He was very sad to leave his home but the transition to Amica was wonderful thanks to Sheena and all of the staff who were there to interact with him and support him through this transition. He had a lovely suite and was able to live as independently as possible at this stage in his life. He particularly enjoyed it when people came to visit his suite, including the wonderful PSWs who always made time to chat as they went about their business. We had peace of mind knowing he was safe and happy. He met lots of new friends, had lovely meals with a core group each day, and particularly enjoyed movie nights and concerts Amica provided. Dad loved to cook and was pleased to have the freedom to bake cookies, brownies and muffins in the community kitchen (he was called "the muffin man" and would share with anyone interested)! Sadly dad passed away in October and we wish to thank the staff at Amica for providing him with such a supportive and inclusive environment to live out his final days.
