There were only 2 disabled parking spots near the entrance we had to use. Poor signage for directions to the correct building. I was really disappointed.
I've always found the Ancaster Fairgrounds to be an excellent space for shows and Expos. The place is kept very clean and I like the fact that I have a diversity of events as well.
Ancaster fairgrounds I saw for the first time. There are so many buildings. Alot of horses have their competitions here. There is a children's building for special events held for them, I do not know dates or times. I watched the awesome horses, and women riders compete. Bought a delicious grilled hot dog, from one vendor. Then a fresh juice, from another vendor, who had, spruced up a small trailer, it was so bright, inviting, with a Hawaiian island decor. I attended the Ancaster fairgrounds; after seeing an event, posted on Facebook. It was a market venue, held on a Saturday, with about 20 vendors. I found Christmas gifts, there was a face painter, and balloon maker. Accessible everywhere, washroom also. Great variety to check out online for future events. Wonderful people and animals, a great feeling, in a huge field, vast, open space.
Food was good but it wasn't the best that I've had. I've had betterbread at other. I felt like it was a little bit burnt and everything here is overpriced especially for the quality.
I had a wonderful time and I love to see the vendors back even if it was a small group. I am looking forward to September and hoping to see some more. I bought several things and I love them all. A big thank you.
Requiring people to be fully vaccinated for an outdoor fair, is awfully brutal, quite possibly even racist seeing the minority’s have the lowest vaccination rate, with that being said I’m not surprised, it’s Ancaster, lots of Karen’s down there
Great staff and facilities. Lots of options for parties big and small. I had my wedding reception here and it was lovely as a DIY option that cost less than a full service place.
I was so disappointed that, the May Pottery show was canceled, but very happy with it being held in a smaller version at the Ancaster Fairgrounds for the fall show. I felt safe to be out there, with being outside in the open. Everyone was following the health guidelines and no one was bothered with the line up.
I attended the Hamilton Potter's Guild pottery show held at Ancaster Fairgrounds this year. Always worth a visit. Lots of vendors and lots of unique gifts. They added a food truck this year. Good idea. There was a very long lineup because of Covid restrictions. But being a senior with pulmonary hypertension they let me jump to the head of the line. No one seemed to mind.
I went to the Great Canadian Butter Tart Festival on Saturday. The festival itself had amazingly delicious Butter Tarts, my only complaint was the venue. The way it was set up was not very disabled friendly. The aisles were difficult to manoeuvre, and if I had been in a wheelchair rather than using my cane, it would have been almost impossible to enjoy the event.
Excellent indoor activity place during the cold season. The inflatables were really big and fun filled varieties for the kids to go crazy. My son went nonstop for over 2hrs and still wanted more.
Ill-prepared for the amount of attendees. No parking, Portolettes were filthy, empty of soap and paper and few and far between. No seats/not enough stands or spectator access for the demo derby. Some picnic tables/benches or something would be nice at the food trucks as opposed to nothing. Be prepared for huge lines leading to big disappointments. Nothing like it used to be when on Rymal rd. Sadly, never again.
We've been in craft shows here, wedding reception, auctions just to name a few. The main hall that is huge can be divided into (I believe) 3 smaller rooms. If you have a venue no need to rent the whole hall. Bathrooms are large and well kept. In the front there's a lobby. Anytime we've been there because of it's size it had never felt crowded.
Perfect day for the fair, had shows to watch, vendors to grab all sorts of food from, a small section of rides in the back for kids to be entertained. They had farm animals you could see, judging of animals which was cool. It's a great way to spend the day with family and friends
Loved the spirit, the events, the whole country atmosphere and all the beautiful people and satisfying food. Greatest thrill was meeting and getting Fair Ambassador Sara Emick's autograph and photograph.
The Chairman of the fair, Al Payne, has consistently ignored and dismissed the concerns of the Ancaster and Hamilton community with regards to allowing a ProLife booth to have a presence at the fair for the past decade. These ProLifers target young children and give them “3 month old fetus” dolls. How is this type of soliciting acceptable at a so-called “family fun” event? Why is this allowed? How can the fair be so dismissive of such an obvious wrong? ! If the fair aligns itself with this type of religious misinformation and bias, the public should be made aware. I really wish the Ancaster Fair would start taking the concerns of its community seriously.and grow the eff up. It’s not 1950 anymore.
Went to the fair. Parking was fairly organized, had a tractor shuttle you upon arrival. Closer to the end of the evening, no shuttle? Very dark, massive open fields walking back to the parking lot (open field) while cars driving in all directions and people scattered all over trying to find their cars. Not good for families who stayed with small children. Huge safety concern.
They may have there reason for no shuttle later in the evening but after they have your money, I think they should take a little care for your safety off of the grounds!
I am not afraid of a little exercise, create some walking paths with barriers, pylons.otherwise if you have smaller children leave earlier! My kids were older and we had our lights on on our phones for fear of getting hit by reckless drivers leaving the parking lot!
I will not be staying later if I am forced back in the future.
Came here for the food drive. The place is a great space for events and really well done facilities. The paved parking lot is a nice feature too and it's located very conveniently. Would be a great place to rent out for large groups. Haven't been to any other event here yet.
