To "All" The Staff at this Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital.
Thank you for all that you have done for our little Grayson.
The care and compassion that you show to the Animals and the owners is so very Heart Warming.
To anyone that wants exceptional care for your pet, this is the place to go. Yes, you will pay more however, your pet is worth every cent.
I am sorry that I do not remember all the names of the staff however, Dr. Popovic, Valerie, Lee and so many more are Angels without wings. It is these people that you want to look after your Fur Babies. I cannot thank any of them enough for what they have done for our pet.
So Greatly Appreciated and forever Thankful.

The thing im very disappointed is you took a month to call me for the surgery of my cat and on December 11 his infection was spreading too fast and on top of it he started to have issue with his blood and he didnt eat for 6 days and i was force to take the action i didnt wanted to take
10 December 2023 8:27
The doctors and support staff are outstanding here and I highly recommend this hospital if your pet needs to see a specialist or has an emergency. They have been and continue to be compassionate and proactive whenever I see or call them.

During my initial visit, my cat's oncologist patiently and thoroughly explained options for tests, possible outcomes and cost estimates. After the tests, he came back to discuss the results and prognosis and ways to move forward.

We have had to go back several times and he always provides detailed post-visit summaries both by phone and email. He answers my emails and returns phone calls quickly and is never impatient with all my questions and concerns.

In short, you and your pet will be in the best possible hands. These folks really care about you and your pet.

They will kill your pet or try to put you in jail. Don’t bring your animal here they are money hungry hippos. Yeah… they shouldn’t be up and running
02 November 2023 17:34
Spent way to much money with absolutely no result. Could not give me any help with what the issue could be, then recommended euthanasia on a 14 month old cat after I complained about spending thousands of dollars. Went to another vet and they gave me a diagnosis in 2 visits. Avoid and never waste your money at this vet!

This are the only animal hospital in the city that has exotic pet experience (animals other than cats and dogs). The staff are calm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They took excellent care of both my bearded dragon and my rabbit. They e-mailed me pictures and updates on my beardie when he had to stay overnight. They were so careful with my extremely anxious bunny that she started eating as soon as she got home! They also responded quickly to our questions about her medication when we called. This hospital will always be my first choice for emergency care. They have my utmost trust & respect.

The place seems nice and clean and the staff seem really nice at first. Came to have my cat seen as he has been chewing on his belly.

I waited for 20 minutes for the technician to show up and take him in a back room for assessment. They make me pay a $50 triage fee (which is to get the technician's assessment) and tell me it will be an additional $200 just to see the doctor. I opt out of it and within 60 seconds the technician is back with my cat saying "i underatand you wanna take him elsewhere".
What did I pay the $50 for? !?
I had to almost make a scene to get the actual technician assessment.

Guess they charge you $2.50/minute for the use of their waiting rooms.

Before management says they can't locate my file. Byron Paulson, kage the cat.

This place was the only emergency vet I could find when my cat started suddenly seizing, I rushed her in and it was obvious this placed cared more about money than anything.

I didn't know what was happening with my cat.and neither did the vet who received her. I felt like I was not getting proper treatment because I didn't opt for the $8000.00 treatment plan they layer out for me.

After paying 2 grand and getting a misdiagnosis I went home for the evening thinking I was leaving my cat in good hands. I immediately get a call from the night vet who clearly knew a lot more about cats than the one who charged me $2000 earlier.

I was given a slightly better understanding.but was beginning to run out of money for treatment options.

In the end they charged me $3300.00 and didn't do a damned thing for my cat. I feel like I failed my best friend by bringing her to these people. They never acted with compassion, they fumbled with the bill while I was grieving with my cat.
They were ready to waste time and money on pointless treatments.they didn't think to give me alternative options, I wish to God I got my cat to her regular vet. I shouldn't have gone ahead with the euthanasia so quickly. I should have rushed her as soon as I could have to someone trusted.

I wish a read the reviews of this place before I brought my cat in.because it doesn't sound like my experience was unique.

This place made a terrible time feel much worse.
12 May 2023 5:21
This place was recommended to us by our vet since they didn’t have any spots for us until April and we really wanted to get our cat checked out.

At first we were sceptical about it because of the reviews but a good attitude goes a long way:)

We were greeted nicely by the staff and gave us all the informations needed and told us how they work. They were super patient with us especially since we felt like our emergency wasn’t as urgent as others but they didn’t make us feel that way. We waited for a very long time (24 hours exactly) but we knew that this would work like a regular hospital (emergency comes first) so we were patient and it paid off. The vet was super sweet and gave us a full explanation of every step she had to take with him and even made sure that we knew how and when to give him is medication.

If you’re really in a pickle and need to get your pet checked out asap, I definitely recommend this place.

We have nothing but praise for the staff, from receptionists and vet techs to the 3 different veterinarians who saw Mickey the kitten. He had swallowed a 30-40 cm sewing thread. He was triaged immediately, and operated on in the middle of the night mainly due to critical patients who had arrived that day and needed urgent care.
The staff called us at 11 pm to say surgery would be soon and the vet called at 3am to explain the results of the surgery. At no time in 3 days did we feel rushed when asking more questions, even do the wonderful doctor who pulled out the long thread from his intestine.
We had 3 different vets attend to Mickey: before during and after surgery. We had superb vet techs too who explained everything clearly and with such a positive and reassuring attitude it put us at ease. Every single person at the hospital was kind, compassionate, thoughtful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Our wait during triage was made less stressful when a staff member off duty was showing the families and parents her pet gecko. We just felt that this was a good place to be.
Costs were communicated upfront and updated with each advancement in care. Each step of the post surgery and the costs were also clearly and patiently communicated. Staff went out of their way to spend time with the kitten and commented on his cuteness, reactions to staff and improvements - and every pet owner knows how important this is.
Aside from the long wait til surgery time which was only due to crisis management of other animals, this hospital proved to be gold star. Even the final cost was under the lowest estimate. This is a bilingual hospital serving the Ottawa area and we are very lucky. Whoever owns this hospital (I believe not a large corporation, but perhaps some veterinarians), "WELL DONE, your staff is wonderful, professional, talented and reassuring"! Not that we want to return to emergency, but this is the place to go. Thank you!
We have now signed up for pet insurance, not flogged by the hospital at all, but suggested when we inquired, as we have 3 kittens. Un grand merci!
Photos: Mickey recovering at home, a bit groggy, but surrounded by his sibs and us and his 'blankie'.

Their negligence and lack of communication killed my best friend. We waited for 7 hours in the ER and they didn’t even examine her. She didn’t get any care and she died alone thanks to OESA. I will never be whole again. It is well known that GI stasis in rabbits is serious and fatal. Rabbits cannot go over 10 hours without eating and yet she was not offered critical care, IV fluids, pain medication, or even an exam. We waited and watched less critical patients come in hour after hour. I should have been able to trust my baby to them and to trust that she would at least be monitored. Now I am left wishing I had taken her anywhere else and that I had pushed harder for care. I’m currently in the process of filing a complaint with the college.

My exotic pet was bleeding from it's eye.
This vet was the only one opened that had somebody qualified to look at him and was told they were full and couldn't look at him. What kind of an emergency animal hospital is this. Unreal. I am completley disgusted in the lack of compassion and lack of willingness to do anything but try to pass you off like they could care less.you definitely need to reevaluate your services absolutely unacceptable.
You guys should be ashamed of yourselves you are suppose to be there to help pets and you clearly failed on every level
15 February 2023 1:59
The staff are all incredibly warm and welcoming. I was referred to their specialty services by my vet for my beloved cat and I have felt comfortable and confident with her health in their hands. Thank you!
08 February 2023 19:03
The staff here was very accommodating. Brought in our 9month old Bernese after she spent the morning throwing up. They took her in right away, but we're not able to look at her until 8pm being that they had other emergencies to deal with. From there on they gave me their recommendations and kept me in the loop of the progress throughout the night, as she ended up going into surgery at the early hours of the morning. A big thank you to the surgeons and the entire staff, great work.
01 February 2023 21:26
Dr. Milaszewska is AMAZING! She loves animals, she is highly competent and very nice. She communicates the diagnosis perfectly. A big thank you!
23 January 2023 1:22
I brought Squirrel in for a lump that had expanded rapidly in his rear area. Dr. Ballantyne was able to take a biopsy and send the result to my home vet. Although the clinic ICU was not accepting new patients (a common case in Ottawa these days, sadly), they were able to fit us in and ease my worried mind. We have always had compassionate care at this place especially earlier this year with our 20 year old cat with kidney disease, Jean-Guy. The clinic gave us a detailed two pages of diagnoses/instructions and although the wait was long given the current state of the industry, we were heartwarmed that the doctor took the time to do a thorough analysis on a very sick, elderly cat. Our hearts go out to what everyone in the vet emergency industry is going through at this time.
20 January 2023 11:08
10 January 2023 0:18
I couldn’t have received better care for my little boy Houston. All the staff was kind, caring and compassionate. Unfortunately I had to say goodbye to my baby. The transition was done with great care and reverence.
01 January 2023 2:20
Several years ago I gave this hospital a 1 star review as I had a terrible experience.
I said I would never go back but last week I was forced to.
It was a completely different experience this time. Dr. Shawna Ellis was incredible, went out of her way to help, and stayed late past her shift end. The reception staff (I didn’t get names unfortunately) were also great to deal with. I watched a couple of emergencies come in while I was in the waiting room and was very impressed watching them spring into action.
I wanted to re write my review to give the staff I dealt with the credit they deserve
16 December 2022 4:33
UPDATE review December 4,2022: The original situation that I had with the receptionist on Saturday evening still deserves 1 star because I cannot believe someone in this position operates with little to no compassion.

BUT speaking with Danyka the customer service representative was a much better experience. I was met with kindness and compassion, what you expect when dealing with a death of an animal with veterinarian clinic. My interaction with her alone is worth 5 stars. Maybe I was more "level headed" (as the male receptionist told me to be the night before), but it was the kind of compassion I expected to be met with. Very kind, explained the situation to be in a non condenseding way.

Saturday December 3,2022 review
Went to drop off my dead cats body. Was told there was no fee to check vitals and dispose of my dead cats body by an employee apparently in training. They then told my husband there was a $150 plus tax fee to cremate my cat even though I specified on the phone I didn't want to cremate him. Male employee was rude and condenseding to me on the phone. Told me if I wanted I could come back and pick up my dead cats body. Was treated extremely rude during a time of grief for my family. Told me to call back when I was more level headed. The last thing I want to do is pack up my children to go back and pick up our dead cats body. No compassion. I understand that the employee was in training, but I specifically asked what the costs were for this. As I knew my cat was dead and didn't need any sort of confirmation from them and just wanted to get rid of his body as it was a Saturday afternoon. I have in the past brought animals here but will never come back here.

If I could give AES a million stars, I would! They are nothing short of miracle workers.

Jaxon was brought in Thanksgiving Sunday for an intestinal blockage and underwent surgery that night. 1st thing Tuesday morning we were called and told he was septic and didn't have much time without a 2nd surgery. We rushed in to say goodbye and to our surprise he came walking into the room. There was no way we could say goodbye! Jaxon was given less than a 40% chance of surviving but we had to try. We told AES to do what they had to, to save him. After a second surgery to remove 50% of his small intestine, 2 blood transfusion, tachycardia, so many touch and go moments, Jaxon came home with us on Tuesday October 18! Once home, his incision became necrotic but has finally healed (on it's own) and he is back to his normal, loving, playful self.

Not once throughout this whole ordeal, did we ever feel out of the loop or like Jaxon wasn't getting the absolute best care. The critical care team at AES are the best out there. They were honest with us from the get go! Never once did they try and sugarcoat anything. As long as we were willing to try, so were they! And they did absolutely everything possible. Without them, he wouldn't be here with us today!

A very very special THANK YOU to Dr. Vegas and Dr. Biello. You helped guide us through this extremely difficult time and we are forever grateful to you both. I wish I knew the names of everyone that helped save Jaxon as you are all his guardian angels. Thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts! We have our puppy boy back with us ️

I am beyond furious with this place, my mother brought her dog with severe skin allergies it was so bad it was to the bone that the poor dog was yelping in pain, she went in there and ask for help and without even looking at the dog they told her to go it's disgusting they are suppose to be there to help and this was the opposite, they will only take the time to help if the vet bill will be to their advantage, horrible place and I will put this on social media, SHAME ON YOU you bunch of heartless people. I had no choice to put a star if it was up to me you would be in the minuses.
05 October 2022 0:40
I sent a plea via email for someone to help with my cat as I had been sent in every which direction with multiple vets, and even though I am not a client of theirs, Shannon in the Oncology department took the time to explain my results and recommended the best route for us. Customer service in excellent here, and the compassion was really appreciated during a really difficult time. Thanks again, Shannon, meant the world.

We've run the gamut of experiences here - from facing the reality having to put down our beloved senior kitty who was in medical crisis to getting a rowdy kitten's splint retied on a broken leg after she ripped it off at 11pm - and the night staff, in particular, have been AMAZING. The quality of care and compassion I have experienced first hand has been top notch, and I have seen them snap into action when a crisis has arrived in the parking lot. If you find yourself and your pet in the unfortunate situation where you need their specific services, I highly recommend Lola.
30 September 2022 1:39
I'd give them zero stars if I could. Turned my dying cat away and told me I'd have to go to Montreal or Kingston. Useless animal hospital
27 September 2022 20:31
JAI tellement été bien accueilli par tout le personnels de cet hôpital, dans cet épreuve difficile, dans les dernières moments de mon chat. Merci à toute l’équipe, vous avez été très professionnel et rempli de compassion.
Merci encore.
21 September 2022 18:36
Unbelievably cold and heartless. I will get more into my experience here after I speak to the person in charge of this place
18 September 2022 19:35
Wonderful and caring staff. Dr. Kim’s attention to Sirius was above and beyond. He took the time to personally explain the home treatment he prescribed for Sirius and even brought him to me. Thanks to all the staff at AES.
17 September 2022 11:05
Absolutely terrible service. My sisters dog is puking blood and she is visibly very sick, we called the emergency line only to be told that they were at max capacity and that’s just “ the way it is”. Receptionist was not at all sympathetic and suggested we try our luck driving to Kingston or Montreal.
I understand the they may be short staffed or not have much space but don’t call your office an emergency clinic if you are turning away emergencies.
12 September 2022 13:39
Lost my baby last week. Just wanted to thank all staff, they was really caring, didn't try to take more money. I was the one who wanted more details. Thank you all for support.
22 December 2021 16:43
Impossible to get our sick dog seen to. Not an emergency according to them without even seeing the dog. Have tried to get an appointment day after day. No luck. Calls itself an emergency clinic.don't think so. Person manning reception need to learn better basic communication skills.
20 December 2021 14:39
I've had to bring my budgie here twice in the past year and I've been met with compassion and empathy. The staff take time to answer your questions and understand what's it's like dealing with a very ill pet. The staff have treated myself and my pet very well. Thank-you for all you do. I definitely recommend this place.
13 December 2021 6:46
My dog went in for a double TPLO. I was so impressed with the consistent communication, follow up, and collaborative work at AES. Very helpful and friendly staff throughout my entire experience.
08 December 2021 20:36
05 December 2021 12:21
I had excellent service with one of the receptionists Ashlee today who went above and beyond for one of our mutual patients. She made sure our patient was well taken care of and it made us very appreciative. Keep up the good work during these stressful times!
02 December 2021 17:43
I have nothing but good things to say about this establishment. I called and rushed right over because my cat which was having convulsions was suffering, He was getting on and they sedated him first to let him relax.they then explained the options and my cats situation, I decided to end his suffering, they allowed me to say goodbye in a private room and were very compassionate, I received a lock of his fur through the mail as a memento along with a card. Small actions go a long way. I will not hesitate to go back should I get another pet. They didn't try to take advantage and had the best interest of my animal in mind, you can't ask for more.
28 November 2021 0:45
My dog need to be check en emergency by a veterinary I call this Animal Emergency hospital and they said they are not taking any patient in Emergency not even with appointments and ask me to call other hospital very disappointed
26 November 2021 13:46

Very bad customer service. We called ahead to inform the clinic that we were on our way with our sick dog. I explained what was going on. I explained her symptoms. She was vomiting, experiencing urinary incontinence, and was having neurological symptoms. This all came on very suddenly. I explained that I wasn’t sure if she had a seizure at one point, I was unsure of this. When we arrived there were two technicians outside discharging a happy go lucky dog who had its front paw in a splint. The owner was receiving his home care instructions. Neither technician acknowledged us and they could clearly see us waiting with our trembling, sick dog in our arms. One technician looked at us, and then went inside the other technician continued talking to the other person. We then decided we would enter the clinic, perhaps we were to go in. No one informed us of anything. When we went to enter, the technician discharging the other dog finally acknowledged us and said you can’t go in. She then told us to wait out front. No one had even offered to
Triage or look at our dog. We wait for what seems like a long time out front. Then a technician comes to the door and hands us there business card and informs us to call the same number we had called prior to talk with the technician we had already spoke to. I phoned the number another technician answers, she knew who we were and told us she would transfer us to the original technician. We wait on hold again, for what seems like a long time. My husband rings the front door to request what is taking so long to speak to someone. The technician advised that the other technician will be a moment more and to continue to wait. The original technician finally answers the phone and asks for all the symptoms again. The above symptoms are explained. I informed her that I wasn’t sure if she had a seizure or not, but that there are neurological symptoms present and our dog is experiencing episodes of muscle rigidity where she tenses, and flinches, but that she cognizant during. She also seems to have vertigo. The technician advised that if it was a seizure they recommend going to your regular vet in the morning and that it’s not an emergency. Not one person came to access our dog. They sent us away ignoring all the other symptoms that we said our dog was experiencing. Terrible communication and compassion on their part. I would never come back to this clinic again. Side note: we took our dog to another emergency clinic, who informed us that it appears as though our dog got into something toxic…. So yes it was an actual veterinary emergency.

Friday when i got home i notice my dog was not doing well. After calling every vet in my area that was open since my vet was not open the Val des monts vet told me to go to this so called hospital because they would take me with evevything i was telling them. My dog had a fever of 105, everytime he would stand he would start crying, we where in the parking lot on the phone with them and they told me it not there responsibility but mine and to go somewhere else and hung up the phone on me. No thanks to them my dog died at home 3 hrs later. How can you guys call yourselves a hospital and not help my dog.
14 November 2021 7:57
My dog was diagnosed with lung cancer in Sept. 2020. She was turned away by two other clinics ("We're so sorry. Palliative care. ") The oncology department of AES triple-booked her in during a COVID wave and started her on anti-cancer medications. They gave her excellent care, and I got to spend another year with my beautiful girl. I can never thank them enough.
13 November 2021 1:17
Drove 40 mins for injured bird for them to not even take a look and tell me to drive 2.5 hours to montreal. Staff on the phone were very unsympathetic considering they work with sick/hurt animals. Very disappointed.
05 November 2021 13:16
I took my best friend Max there back in September 2019. They came out with a stretcher to get him cause he couldn't walk anymore. After examining him they told me he was bleeding internal from a ruptured tumor. They told me he had cancer and chances are he had more and for his sake he would need to be euthanized. That was the hardest decision I ever had to make. They put us in a calming room and told us to take as much time as possible. I got to call my son so he could come say goodbye and I had my daughter in law with me. When we were ready they came in and put him to sleep and again told us to take as much time as possible. They showed us and Max so much compassion. I could not have asked for more. I left heartbroken beyond belief but I knew he was in great hands with them. I highly recommend them.

26 October 2021 6:05
How could you let a dog DIE in a car? !
Thant is insane! Incredible! I can't believe they did that! No human being does that to a animal! HORRIBLE costumer service! They hung up on the phone with no reasons or purpose. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO GO THERE!
25 October 2021 3:26
My dog went here for a specialist ophthalmology urgent visit and the entire staff was wonderful, patient and caring. Dr Feigel was thorough, compassionate and lovely. She understood that the cost of dog ownership is not always cheap and provided her honest opinion with cost in mind. Highly recommend as a crazy dog owner!

If I can leave no stars I would. First they started off giving wrong cremation prices and trying to tell me otherwise. Calls arent even recorded which is prob why they get away with it. When trying to be in touch with the right person the staff was incredibliy rude. Finally when my mom decided to give up i also decided to complain to the receptionist who said I needed to speak to Samantha of which firat told me to speak to Nicole. The receptionist before even giving me a moment to ask to speak to Samanth hung up on me. I called back moments later and gave my name and asked to spwak to Samantha. Lady on the phone advised me the clinic could no longer take my calls and gung up on me again. What wonderful service from a clinic so highly rated. Its unfortunate that they can't take complaints as they seem to not even want to acknowledged the poor service to us. I advise against anyone wanting to cremate their pets here. The staff here really don't care. I have gone ahead and also reported to OVAT and contacted someone higher as these people also still have the dog i'm supposwd to pick up.really ridiculous.

After receiving supportive care from Island City Animal Hospital in Brockville, we drove an hour to have our 2.5 year old dog for treatment of injesting Xylitol. Xylitol is toxic to dogs and causes low blood sugar and necrosis of the liver. When we arrived they promptly took her inside to start her care. The clinic provided excellent care. The clinic called us twice a day with updates and also emailed updates with pictures of our little girl. She spent 3 nights in the hospital due to her not being able to maintain her sugar levels. When we went to pick her up they had printed out detailed instructions for her care at home and reviewed the instructions with us and answered any questions. My wife and I found the bill to be completely reasonable and much less then we anticipated. Due to their professionalism and high level of care our little girl was able to come home.

As an anxious pet owner. An emergency animal hospital is the LAST place you want to be. But I was greeted by the most calming friendly staff. Jordan in particular who was incredibly reassuring and is an amazing asset to this animal hospital. Kept me calm and updated through the entire ordeal. Which took over 6 hours I might add. 6 hours where they took amazing care of my little birdie montey. Even though there wasn't an avian vet.the vet I had (I really wish I could remember her name. But I was incredibly stressed) took such extreme care and helped my montey through what I'm sure is the hardest night in her little life. If there were 10 stars. They would get that. Thank you for taking care of the both of us!
23 September 2021 12:10
Just brought my dog that is puking up blood to the hospital and was turned away because they're "at capacity". Worst hospital ever.
20 September 2021 21:12
This was my first time using a vet emergency service. The staff was wonderful! Friendly, polite and helpful. They took great care of my dog and treated her rapidly! I hope my dogs stay healthy so that I don't have to use their services again, but would definitely go back if another emergency happens.
17 September 2021 4:27
I have nothing but good things to say about this place. They saved my bulldog’s life. It was such a stressful situation driving to get there in the night and having your doll need emergency surgery, but the veterinarians there were reasonable, informative, and caring. It was a very busy night when we showed up and we attempted to wait in the parking lot because we were extra concerned. I’ve never had a real canine emergency before about two weeks ago, so we were just hopeful that we’d get a call while we were still there. After about 4 hrs, we went home to wait for the call/update, and when we received it about 6 hours after we brought our girl in, the vet (Dr Castonguay) was super reassuring and honest with what our options were, even telling us that it’s against her best advice, but that if finances made on site surgery a non- option, she’d prescribe anti-bs as needed to afford us a few more days until we got into our own vet for surg.

We didn’t want to take chances with our sweetie so we opted for the surgery.

They appeared to have treated her very well and she was good to go about 18 hrs after admission. They followed up to see how she was and that was great. We were given very detailed instructions for her aftercare and I’m happy to say that our girl is 100% better now.

I had called and tried 3 other emergency vets the week prior for our other bulldog after a cottage mishap he got wounded in and none of them would take us (were full/ closed). My mother recommended this place because it’s affiliated with one of my family’s dog’s vet. Now, I would recommend this animal hospital as a first line when it’s emergent any time.

Thank you for helping our darling French bulldog. I’m forever indebted.

I have taken my beloved, large breed dog here twice and both times we received the utmost compassion and care! The staff are all-stars, from check in to check out. I cannot state enough how considerate and careful the staff are here. They keep you updated 100% and make sure you are included in all care decisions. All prices for services are stated upfront and without judgement. I trust this place with my best friend’s life.

OAESH treated my bunny for GI stasis, which is a deadly condition for rabbits. The case was pretty severe - he is my second bunny, and I've never had an episode so difficult and so long-lasting. We'd been to the clinic two times, the second time he was even hospitalized. But, thanks to tireless efforts of OAESH staff, my bun is now fully recovered, happily binking and zooming around like a 5-month-old! I am very grateful to all OAESH employees and would definitely trust them with my still-considered-exotic pet again!

My cat couldn’t breathe and they told me they weren’t taking any more cases, thanks very much for nothing! I hope my cat lives till Monday so I can bring him to a good vet! Why even call yourself 24 hour emergency care, useless! The star system should be -5 to +5.

I wish you could give negative stars because I would give them negative 5 stars. I was told by another animal hospital that they wouldn't be able to put my dog down until tomorrow (July 24th, 2021). I called this animal hospital to get prices for the Euthanasia and cremation and urn. My dog is suffering a lot. I know what is looks like when dogs are suffering because I had to get 2 other dogs put down. 1 in 2020 and the other in 2018. Both vets that dealt with putting my dogs down didn't question me and didn't say they need an evaluation first and may possibly be refused. This place however said that I will need to get an evaluation done and I could possibly be refused. People are right when they say that they are money hungry. They want me to pay a couple hundred dollars to get an evaluation and if he needs to be put down, which I know he does I would have wasted the couple hundred dollars. I DO NOT RECCOMEND AT ALL! ALSO EXTREMLY RUDE

So very impressed with the level of care the Veterinarians and staff should our very sick cat. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to her but I knew they had done all they could for our baby Isla. Thank you for the work that you do, trying your best to keep our companions healthy in the toughest situations.

Had to bring my rabbit thumper after finding her passed away. They answered all my questions over the phone, Staff were extremely professional, patient, understanding and beyond helpful at such a terrible time. They even sent a card with her paw prints on it, they have went above and beyond with that. 100% would recommend coming here!

We cannot even begin to thank the staff at the Ottawa Animal Emergency for all their help, care and compassion in the past week. Our beloved Storm all of a sudden was not doing well last week, and they took so much care and pride in helping us find out what was wrong and keeping us updated as tests and such progressed. All of the staff constantly told us how wonderful she was, and kept her calm and comfortable while she was there. Last night when we had to make the final hard decision we were treated with such respect and compassion it was truly heart warming. We cannot explain how much easier they made one of the hardest weeks of our lives.

Used to always go there for my other dog when I lived in the Hull area. I am now 56km away from this clinic and my dog was bitten by something and is having an allergic reaction. There is no clinic in Gatineau that will see us and In the past they DID give me the max dosage of Benadryl but for some reasons now they WONT and I just don’t remember. They tell me over the phone that I CAN give her Benadryl and tells me what kinds not to give her BUT WONT TELL ME THE MAX DOSAGE per weight and tells me to look online! As far as liability goes, Im pretty sure them telling me to actually give it to exposes them more than refusing to give me CRITICAL information. You better believe that if something happens i wont go to them and you better Pray to god that nothing happens to my dog because Ill show you a liability suit like you’ve never seen before. What kind of vet tells you “giver her Benadryl” but doesn’t say how much.
