We came here without an appointment because my cat was suddenly ill and my regular vet was closed. Even though we arrived in a frazzle without calling ahead, they were so nice to me and my partner. They kindly explained that they were not an emergency clinic and we would have to wait until later in the day to be seen. They took my information and my cat's symptoms. After passing the info to the vet, they deemed the situation urgent and directed me to the EVC.

I was only at this location for a total of 5 minutes. But, wow! They are so kind and it looks like a really nice facility.

If they see this review: we went to the EVC and my cat is doing much better now. Thank you!

These are hard working people doing all doing an amazing job of keeping our fur babies alive and well! It is a clean environment and very professional! Also personal enough for you to feel comfortable leaving the lives of your beloved pets in the hands of! I’m so happy we brought our boy here! He was in the best of hands!

One of the worst vets in the area. They overcharge for everything they have. The food has gone up in price every few months that we have been there, and they pushed us to buy the most expensive food.

Not only that, but they overcharge for check ups and any tests that are needed. I will never step food in this place and will go to other trusted vets in the area.

My parents started taking their babies to Galt Animal Hospital, and I have continued taking my babies. Dr. Jackie is amazing, and I absolutely trust her with our Rosie and Oliver.

I called this vet as my vet was closed for the long weekend and we just realized we were out of dog food. I asked if they sold a specific dietary food that my dog requires as he has pancreatitis. The woman on the phone indicated that they had it in stock and then asked if I was a client. When I said no she told me she would not sell me the dog food as it was a prescription dog food (which it's not and is sold on Amazon). When I asked her what she suggested I do, she recommended that I just sit down and call every vet in the region that was open on a long weekend (which is basically none) until I can find someone to sell it to me. This is not a great business strategy and I will never take my pet here if this is how they treat people and animals.

The team at AHOC were so gentle and kind during our loss. They let us take all the time we needed and set us up in a private room that is catered to loss. Thank you for everything.

This animal hospital takes so much care and all the team members are so caring and compassionate. I used to think the cost would be higher here but I found the rates to be reasonable.

My King Shepherd Sadie loves coming to the Animal Hospital of Cambridge. The staff are incredibly friendly and do their best to make the vet a happy trip. From their quick and informative diagnosis to the genuine love they show your pet, they're the best at what they do. Unlike most vets, they also have your wallet in mind and don't push for unnecessary treatment unless it's absolutely necessary. Thanks a bunch for all you've done for Sadie so far!

Have been a client for a few years. They are very helpful and easy to deal with. The vet gave great recommendations without pushing any meds or procedures. Techs and receptionists are always very kind and helpful. Very happy overall.

I'm so glad I chose this vet for my puppy. She's had several appointments since we brought her home. They have many vets, many RVTs, and CSRs. The hours are so flexible. Cost for animal care isn't an issue for me here. The staff are so lovely and they are so patient with my puppy that has separation anxiety. The communication I get from this animal hospital is second to none. The customer service is top notch.

Both Sharon and I had two visits last Sunday and Monday. Unfortunately on Monday our golden retriever Connor was determined to be too sick to continue. We made the hard decision to say goodbye. A huge shoutout to the staff for making it a lot more bearable. I need to really give a big hug out to Dr Amy. She was thoughtful, kind, patient, perfect in the way she handled us and our dilemma. We were also very impressed with the quiet room and how we managed the last couple of hours with our great dog of over 12 years. Thanks to all. Brendan and Sharon

I have nothing but good things to say about the Animal Hospital of Cambridge.

Although we are a regular grooming client of Pam’s, we do have a different vet that we normally go to.

Our dog, Harry, got sick on a Friday night and unfortunately, my wife and I both had to fly out of town on Sunday for five days. Since our vet was closed, in a panic I called to see if we could get a last-minute appointment on Saturday morning.

Right from the start everyone was friendly and helpful. They squeezed us in for an appointment asap. Due to suspected Kennel Cough both the Vet and the Tech met us at the car for his exam. I thought this was ideal because it is very contagious and we certainly would not want any other dogs to catch it.

I felt the exam was pretty thorough. They listened to his heart and lungs, took his temperature, and checked his eyes, nose, mouth, etc. They assessed his symptoms, prescribed antibiotics, and we declined the optional cough syrup. For a total of $263.00 for a last-minute emergency appointment, I felt it was very reasonable.

But, it didn't end there.

Since we could no longer board Harry, our son’s girlfriend stayed with him for the week. She received a follow-up phone call from the Vet on Thursday. Since Harry wasn’t really improving, she sent a video of him coughing by email. They then followed up with me (by e-mail in Texas) and it was decided to switch his antibiotics to a different type for this nasty resistant cough. My son’s girlfriend drove over and picked up the new prescription ($50.00) with no extra charges.

These pills started working after about 5 days of the 7-day prescription. Harry was 90% better when they ran out, but the symptoms began to come back. So, I replied to the e-mail (they asked us to keep them updated) and to my surprise I got another phone call from the Vet (we are now over two weeks into treatment with numerous e-mails and two different prescriptions). She said she had read my e-mail and thought it might be reasonable, under the circumstances, (Harry’s cough coming back) to start him on a second week course to make sure it clears up. I agreed and went right over. Again, I was only charged $50.00 for the medicine.

I have to say we are extremely impressed. I feel like they truly care about Harry’s health. Fantastic follow up, and I did not feel like I was being overcharged at all. Beside the medicine I paid once for the initial exam.

I would recommend AHOC to anyone and am seriously considering changing vets even though I really don’t have any complaints with my existing one. (Other than poor office hours)

One of our two cats has been seeing one of the veterinarians on a regular basis for ongoing health problems.

Communication is a challenge amongst client services staff, RVTs and doctors. The client services staff often seem unknowledgeable and staff appear to be too busy to manage client requests. We often find that we are calling the clinic to follow up about booking rechecks, getting blood work results, medication etc. It has occurred on more than one occasion that medication was said to have been ordered and we paid for it and waited to get a go ahead to pick up, o lay to find it hadn’t been ordered yet at all.

Most recently, we ordered a prescription refill for a medication our cat takes every other day. Her dose is half a tablet of a very small, very commonly used medication for cats. We asked specifically to have the medication split for us. We were told in the message about picking it up that we should purchase a pill splitter. When picking up the medication, my husband asked again if the medication could be split before we took it home. We were told this was not possible because it was a compounded medication (it isn’t, in my experience as an RVT) and they worried it would affect the quality of the medication. This is unlikely to be true given that the medication was available to be picked up less than an hour after requesting a refill.

It seems that it is often my husband or I putting in time and effort to receive a pretty basic standard of customer service. This clinic should be very concerned with how that might be perceived and how that affects a client’s perception of patient care by extension.

This is a recounting of my only visit, please enjoy.

The female vet I saw did not provide any consultation to me just agreed with what I thought it was and gave me a 298$ bill.
117$ as an examination fee for a standard appointment.that is outrageous for them to check his breathing and stick a thermometer up his bum; which the vet tech did have of the job.their clinic is not 117$/exam nice looking, which i did not even get to experience because my dog had kennel cough so i was examined outside, nor was that vet's "expertise" worth 117$/exam. They gave me 60 ml cough syrup dosage (36$) and upon asking for a refill 5 days later asked me to come back in for another examination (117$)!
They also did not provide me with a full 60 ml as I ran out a day early. 60 ml / 8ml = 7.5 days.
I even asked for a refill on the prescript and was told to just call when you run out.

I called my vet later, as they were closed on the weekend, and she said she wouldn't have even prescribed the antibiotics as he is young and said i was over charged at 143$.

They did not even provide me with a price breakdown at anytime I just paid and got the visa receipt. I had to call to ask once it seemed like I was being taken advantage of to inquire.

Now if my dog needs a medication or a treatment, i would pay anything for it that is not the issue I have. Shame on you for prying on a worried dog parent for overcharging and over and under prescribing medicine all to save your margins, probably.

So I shall never be returning to this ever so greedy establishment which clearly does not actually care about the clients they serve just the money they want to take from scared people. If in are need of an animal hospital drive to Guelph if it is within your ability to do so. I hope all the best to those that are in need of animal help.

P.s.
This is the only vet service and any service, i personally know, whose phone recording specifies specifically to not verbally abuse their staff, which you should not; I do agree with that. Do not abuse customer service worker. However, if you have to preface that on your initial recording, that is a reflection on your service boo boo and the anger is a reflection of that bad service.

Very overpriced and the vets are not knowledgeable. The last vet I had was Julie, she prescribed my dog allergy medication. We went with the higher end as she recommended to avoid symptoms or a reaction. My dog has been very sick since we started giving him the meds. We stopped and called to explain how we will no longer be giving him what was prescribed and we would like to return the prescription. Especially since we only used 3 pills. The bet told us though getting this sick is rare, there is nothing that can be done. She then proceeded to prescribed another medication on the phone.

All I can say is they completely rip you off. I spent $400 and she wouldn't help me afterwards. I looked at other vets rates to compare once I got the bill and man is there a difference.

I really hope no one else has to go through this. Please find someone else for your furbaby, a place that actually cares and will do more research to find the actual issue with your pet.

I am no longer a client due to the lack of education these vets have. This is not the first time I've realized this.which is my fault that I stayed so long.

I have recently started taking two of my pets to Animal Hospital of Cambridge and I have to say - they are fantastic! Not once have I felt that they pressured me into unnecessary services nor have they ever made me feel silly for asking questions about required services or medication.

The animals just love all of the staff here - they're super friendly. The doctors are knowledgeable and work together seamlessly as a team. Lab results are generally turned around in 24 hours or less and nearly anything needed can be taken care of in house.

To top it all off, they are open 7 days a week which is incredibly convenient when you're working M-F!

We have been taking our kitty there for years. Now that she's 18 and in decline, the care and kindness the entire staff has shown both her and us, is breathtaking. I highly recommend you take your pet here if he/she needs care.

I brought a friend with her dog for a concerning issue. The vet wasn’t as concerned and knew it was a simple issue requiring a change in food. The vet was mindful of the expense it would be for her to go through with an examination, when she knew it wasn’t necessary. Friends dog got what he needed for less than $50, was not charged anything for the appointment. Care was friendly and understanding. Definitely recommend and will bring my dog there if I ever have an emergency with her because I know my dog would be in good hands and that I won’t be gauged/taken advantage of in an emergency situation.

We have been so grateful for the compassion and kindness that we have received at Animal Hospital of Cambridge. After adopting an anxious rescue, the team was incredibly patient and ensured Daisy felt safe and comfortable at each visit, despite having to do curbside drop-offs for the first little bit. After adopting a kitten more recently, the caring nature simply moved along to her as well. Although we have moved away, we are thankful for all of the time, help and love that was given to our two girls!

Cant say enough about the staff. Vets r top notch. I owe my dogs life (his name is trouble) twice. They kept me informed/advised thru entire exp. They seem verry carring and sympathetic. Let me say all vet services r expensive by nature. But if accessed properly ur pet has a chance.

I have my fur baby as patient at this vet and I have to say the people and services are very good. They always have time to answer my questions and always have the availability if I need to book any appointments for my dog as my work schedule at times can be long days so it very hard to be able to make appointments if I need too but animal hospital of Cambridge has always had time for my Shelby girl. Recently I had to take my fur baby in to get her fur checked out and they are very helpful and patient with my pup.

Thank you for your continued service for my fur baby. Highly recommend this vet.

Today went for a 5 pm appointment and sat till 6pm for one injection brutal heard people in the back laughing and having a great time very slow service I finally left time for a new vet this place is garbage if your that busy don’t make appointments people have things to do don’t use them unless you have tons of time

Totally shocked and disappointed with their service. Switching vets after three years of being extremely content with no complaints (we also got our pup her as well). I never thought I would be here leaving a bad review. Called yesterday to buy more food and to figure out why I have no been receiving notifications for my pets veterinary care any more. She told me my dog is behind on multiple things and needed a test. I got no apology or explanation and felt like they could not care less. For the amount I have paid over the years I expected better care then this. Happily making the switch to another vet, especially after I called to move my file over and they gave me a one word conversation. Care more about how you treat your paying customers.

My beautiful girl just passed away. They sat with me and talked and listened to me tell them about her. They never rushed me to leave. Super compassionate. Will be using them as my permanent vet from now on. Thank you so much for just being there.

Amazing service. Took our cat in Sunday morning. The doctor took the time to explain issue but also nutrition choices and recommendations. Hopefully will never need again but if we do I'll gladly and confidently take my pet back

Absolutely terrible, called because I have a 3 week old puppy gagging. It’s Sunday morning and they have no “emergancy spots available” and refused to book a normal apt until next week. Absolutely disgusting behaviour of a vet that is supposed to take care of animals. I have 4 puppies that will need a perm I ant vet and let me tell you it will not be this place seeing my puppies EVER.

All they care about is making money to pay for their fancy facility. My wife and I took our cat there and for 200$, they checked her breathing and temperature. We described the problem to the vet and all she did was offer more services that cost more money. She didn’t even offer her recommendations and left the next steps in our hands. The vet was obviously too afraid to take responsibility for recommending anything. She’s supposed to be the expert, and she put the decision making into our hands. What a waste of time and money!

Brought our scared puppy here after she had a lot of blood in her stool. From the moment I called, the front desk worker was so kind and helpful. It was an easy and quick process getting in and we only waited under an half and a half. The vet was very informative and helpful, she even brought my pup a bowl of food to eat. When we left, the girls all treated my puppy like their own. So grateful to have a positive experience during a scary time, would definitely reccomend!

Veterinary service is excellent. Customer Service sucks

The last time i went, The veterinary service was great. The doctor was letting me know of all the steps she was taking and explaining to me everything along the way. She also checked up on misty after we left and sent a couple of emails with notes.

This time, i had taken an appointment on a Tuesday at 9 (bc they are always fully Booked on the weekends) and informed them i will be 15 mins late and ended up arriving at 9: 30. At that point, i knew I was very late and that i have missed my appointment. I went in hoping that the lady at the reception can talk to the doctor and squeeze my cat somewhere today. She asked the doctor, but the doctor refused. The lady at the reception did not offer the best costumer service. Her tone was aggressive and she kept saying “hon” which i am very much not found of.

I can’t thank Animal Hospital of Cambridge enough! They constantly come through for my fur baby Molson. He’s had many different health issues and they always manage to find time for him to be seen. Unfortunately Molson didn’t start coming to this place when he was a puppy. We moved him to this clinic after moving to this side of town so he viewed it as a place of negative experience because he is always sick when he goes. Over a week ago he had a pedicure there and one of the girls made sure to make it a great experience for him and gave him a treat when he was done. She even managed to give him his hypoallergenic treat and took the time to check his file to make sure it was his kind. I have been in the clinic again a few days ago and the same girl, which sadly I don’t know her name, came up to Molson and remembered him and gave him some cuddles. Makes you feel valued when they build a connection with our fur baby. Kellie Ann helped me this week as Molson was having breathing issues. She made sure to make me feel that Molson was a priority and helped me get an appointment so quickly. She was Very knowledgeable and has excellent phone mannerism. She gave me different options in case our emergency turned to a worse situation and even prebooked him for an appointment. I work in the reception field and value staff who display the type of empathy and mannerism she has. Definitely the type of employee you want in any clinic. The doctor that we saw was also very pleasant and made sure to get as much info from other doctors to make sure we had the best treatment plan for my fur baby and I’m happy to say he’s finally starting to feel better. And being the top quality place they are, they always follow up to see how Molson is doing. This will be the clinic I will constantly choose and the staff alone are far beyond superb and have mastered the definition of 5 star service.

We are an elderly couple, and we now have spent over $800 on testing to try to get our dogs teeth fixed. They keep on charging us but they haven't touched his teeth. We are in our 70's and they kept us waiting for hours. Finally my husband got upset and yelled at the staff. All of sudden 15 min later he's all sudden ready to go. Staff looks too young to be in this field. Very unorganized, staff is not pleasant at all. Please go somewhere else!

You can usually get in fairly quickly for an appointment and the staff are great. They take their time, I haven't felt like I was rushed along. I've even been able to get some questions answered through email over a weekend which I wasn't expecting but certainly exceeded my expectation.

This was our first time bringing our cat to this animal hospital. Roland (our cat) made quite the impression they welcomed him with a warm heart and everyone is very kind and friendly. Definitely a recommended place to bring your animals.

Very thorough and informed pet care. Prices are reasonable, but not for the faint of heart. You get what you pay for in spades though with top notch care, advice, and most importantly, treatment options and information.
