This restaurant is a destination worth visiting and is very reasonably priced. The service is fantastic.
Broasted chicken is the best option here. What's broasted chicken? Invented in Wisconsin, broasted chicken is two cooking techniques in one. Deep frying and pressure cooking gives it a crispy outside and juicy inside. Sounds dangerous, tastes delicious!

Always come at least once a year with my university pals. I usually get their boasted chicken which is so moist and tasty. But as with everything else, the price has gone up. We ordered the small portion and the plate size is too small for the amount of food, spilling over the edge. But their peanut butter pie is to die for!

Loved their chicken. Feels like you are eating a home cooked meal. All the staff is friendly and nice.

Stood in line for over half an hour. In that time they called one party of four ahead of us. Left without eating. Maybe we'll try again another day and plan more time.

Always a great day trip. Food is awesome. Chicken, mashed potatoes, cheese buns-all delicious BUT the best part is the PIE! I always get a different flavour and they are all yummy. Peach, raspberry, apple so good BUT you just try the French Rhubard of you're a rhubarb fan! Love it!

The Broasted Chicken is the best and incomparable to anything else you have eaten. Love the Ham and Potato soup. The Cheese cake is super light and still creamy on top of a delicious biscuit.

Excellent food! They were out of many of my favorite desserts. But the replacements were excellent too. Thank you!

A very limited menu, but what they do have will exceed your expectations. Let me just say this. Some local Amish eat there.

Great home cooked meals! Excellent baked goods and local meats, cheese, and honey. They have a neat gift shop as well.

Love going to Anna Mae's, the food and service is fantastic and the bakery/gift shop always has a great selection

Have eaten here a handful of times. Went for the pork rib special last week and was super disappointed. The riblet was equivalent to a frozen pack from the grocery store. Also my wife’s broasted chicken was mediocre.

Homestyle cookin with many faults in basic cookery

This review is based off a visit on 08/25/2023. I had never heard of Anna Mae's and visited on the recommendation of a friend.

We started our day with antique and vintage hunting in St. Jacobs. We went on a Friday when the farmer's market was closed so the traffic between St. Jacobs and Millbank wasn't unbearable. If you're starting in St. Jacobs, expect at least a 20-minute drive to Anna Mae's.

Anna Mae's has a sizeable parking lot, but it was already full when we arrived for lunch, even on a weekday. We had to wait a short amount of time for a table (but less than 10 minutes). If you're there on a weekend or on a day the St. Jacobs Farmer's Market is open you might want to think about calling ahead and making a reservation.

The restaurant is quaint and homey, with rustic touches and a relaxed atmosphere. Homemade crafts, including quilts, tote bags, and children's clothing adorn the walls and are available to purchase. If it weren't for the other patrons you would feel as if you were dining in someone's personal home.

The menu is simple, and everything is very reasonably priced. I opted for the "small" portion of broasted chicken (dark meat) with French fries, carrots, and a homemade bun. I was surprised at how hearty the small portion was as they presented me with a plate absolutely overflowing with food. I don't think I could have handled a regularly-sized portion, especially because I wasn't leaving without trying a homemade dessert!

After our meal we browsed the attached bakery shop, which has a wide selection of pies, baked goods, frozen foods, cheeses, and gifts to take home. I bought six honey-dipped doughnuts for the road.

All in, three meals, three desserts, three pops, six doughnuts, and tip only set me back $87. Not bad at all.

I would absolutely visit again on a trip to St. Jacobs.

Pros:
- Hearty, stick-to-your-ribs food
- Healthy portions
- Delicious homemade desserts

Cons:
- Can get incredibly busy resulting in significant wait times
- Debit or cash only (no credit cards)

We ate here on a week day in August. We made a reservation and it was good we did because the place was quite popular. It was lines up out The door by the time we left. I had the broasted chicken (which seems a lot like fried chicken to me). It was a very large serving for only about $15. And of course their selection of pies is legendary. Talk to you

Don't open for breakfast anymore and went in for coffee with a friend and all the waiter did was keep interrupting us and try to get us to order a meal. Will not be back, nothing like what it used to be.

The Server was not attentive. It took a very long time for her to take our order. Then we had to wait a long time for her to take our dessert order. We asked two other servers to let her know we were waiting because we hadn’t seen her for a long time. I will not go back even thought the pie was delicious.

We had a wonderful meal of broasted chicken - and it was so inexpensive! The dessert was great! We had a wonderful time visiting with friends and sharing a meal

This place not only has amazing food, but the prices are also amazing! They are known for their chicken, but their roast beef and pork dinners are excellent as well! What our group liked best, was the ability to size your meal. They have small, regular and platter sizes. Their pies and cakes are all made on site and the portions are generous too! No wonder the place is also a favourite for bus tour groups to stop. Get there early, or be prepared to wait a bit though.

I absolutely love your coffee! If there was my 6 groups when we arrived I would have loved to sit down and eat! This is the place to be! Must visit if you can! They have an amazing gluten free selection!

We drove north east from London in early October hoping to see some of the fall colours in the countryside. We were not disappointed. This daytrip was made complete with a dinner stop in MIlbank at Anna Mae's Bakery and Restaurant. The service is friendly with the setting in an old world style. The food is simple but done to perfection. Picking up some baked goods for the trip home is a must as the choices are many and most certainly delicious. We will add this to our list as an annual event.
