Best place to relish amazing south Indian foods. I loved the medu vada and madras coffee.
Service was great. Vishnu was very welcoming and nice to talk.
Its gonna be my go-to place for Coffee

Great sambar. Authentic Indian dosas. Highly recommend over other famous dosa places in GTA.

Aesthetically this place looks great. We walked in to this cozy place for lunch and got seated without much challenge. The service was descent and the staff made sure that they explained the menu and spice levels to customers which I highly appreciate.
However, the food was a letdown. Idlis were nice and fluffy. But poori was swamped in so much oil that we lost the interest in finishing it. Set dosa was disappointing as well since Vada curry was overpowered with spices and lacked seasoning.
Their filter coffee was the best I’ve had in Canada and it’s a must try. Otherwise it’s a Okish place

Dosas can be better, if they can improve masala for dosas it will be great.
I felt quality of food not very good, rava dosa is very oily and thick. Other places are better i felt!
But Prices are good.

The manager Vishnu is very professional. He asked about our experience and took the feedback very positively. The servers were also nice.

Madras masala dosa was delicious. Would come here next time to try out other menu items. Server was good at her service too

Glass size used for lassi have reduced. I think only 12 oz. With no dome lids. The restaurant did not have ice or ice cubes? Though the idly was good and soft but the samber was burnt flavors may be left on fire too long to scorch and had the burnt flavor. The dahi vada was good. Initial course service was good but huge delay in main course. Chutneys were average.

We had dinner here recently. The dosai was filled with masala (and not just smeared in), and well made. They are also large (equal to 3 home made dosai IMO). I had the chettinad mushroom, and found the spice mix used was authentic. Finally, for me as a south indian person, the mark of good quality is not usually in the dosai (which you cant mess up unless you are using stale batter), but in the chutney and sambhar. I am glad to say that Annalakshmi doesnt use dessicated coconut or has a watery chutney, but had the right consistency and flavor (coconut+ginger+coriander) and a really good sambhar though i question the presence of zuchini in a Thanjavur style sambhar. And before I forget, the bondas were awesome. They have added oregano seasoned water to the batter (omam in tamil) which was a nice touch, and the bonda itself was very crisp and melt in your mouth.

I loved this place. Overall a great experience, great food, lovely service and vibe. We ordered spc. Rava masala Dosa and onion Rava masala Dosa. Couldn't finish even one dosa.
They'll give extra sambhar for free but you'll have to pay for extra coconut chantey.
I highly recommend this place.

The food was excellent and felt authentic. Servers are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. The ambiance and the atmosphere felt very nostalgic to my hometown. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for an Indian place to eat in!

No question, don’t go here. If you’re in Mississauga go to GURU LAKSHMI instead. It’s a little bit more expensive but a billion times better food, service and atmosphere.

This place only exists to feed people who aren’t willing to wait or make a reservation at GURU LAKSHMI. I wouldn’t pay to eat here, I wouldn’t even eat it for free, you would have to pay me to eat here.

Don’t waste your time or money.

One of the best South Indian vegetarian restaurant in Ontario. When I was there for the first time, though it was busy they took very good care of us. The staffs were very friendly. I would give 100/100 for the customer service. The food was very tasty. Must visit!

Ordered 2 Dosas.
1: Maisur masala dosa
It tasted exactly same as normal masala dosa and the teste was very mild. It has big potato pieces in masala.

2: cheese masala spring dosa:
The potato masala filling was dominating the actual spring veggie masala.

Restaurant ambiance was good.

Superb food…had a get together with my friends over there and everyone enjoyed the food. The staffs are really helpful and quick at there service. My personal favourite is Butter garlic masala and the madras coffee.

My family absolutely love their dosa! The coconut chutney is very fresh and sambar is delicious. I love they maintain the original flavour back from my country and not a Canadian version. I didn’t yet to try all their Dosa’s in the menu but the traditional South Indian dosa I tried so far is absolutely fantastic. For a reasonable price I enjoy the best dosa in GTA. The service, ambiance are very good to bring family, kids, friends. It’s one of place where you can trust bring your family for a treat. My personal option is I noticed the workers don’t wear any identification so I felt difficult to identify workers or guest to ask for service.

Very unhygienic and chutney' look'd like it was made 2 days ago. If at all you eat here please make sure to carry a water bottle with you to drink water as the glass and mug is so dirty.

Loved the ambience and food was really good we tried Masala Dosa and Sambar Idli. Also, staff is friendly but very busy restaurant.

Disaster. Tried this weekend for first time with my parents. Worst quality. Tried veg briyani, Annalakshmi thali and Fried rice combo. None of them were good. Too oily and taste not good. Vada is the worst of all. Will not recommend to anyone.

Food was good but hospitality was so poor that we have to ask them everytime to provide us service. Everytime different server shows up and none of them didn’t bother to ask after taking order. And while paying we told them that the hospitality was not good they provide an excuse that our staff’s on break. And later two of them went behind the desk and start mocking on what we said.

The ambience here takes us to our hometown, and feels the same for the food prepared there, all making authentic traditional taste.

It's really yumm! The staff is really what makes me come back this location has a great set of people, they are amazing and so sweet! They always work harder. Thank you for the best service and damn good food. You never made me miss home. Lemme tell you this. Surly do visit ANNALAKSHMI! Don't miss them. You people are doing a great job, Keep going. Was craving south Indian food and loved the food here. The sambar was outstanding! We ordered mysore masala dosa with Onion, podi idli and sambar, and madras coffee

We went last week, going there again today for lunch! V tasty all veg food, but Madras coffee supersede everything! The presentation of dosa was itself mouth watering, with v tasty chutneys! Today i v try idly and coffee is a must!

We visited on a Saturday night expecting it to be busy and we did dine in and we waited for our order which included 2 masala dosa, 1 mysore masala dosa, extra sambhar as I am a sambhar lover, kid’s chocolate dosa and fries. Food was fresh and was served in good portion, reasonably priced and above all served with a smile. The wait was worth it as even back in India at the good dosa places wait for a good dosa is worth it. In the end I wish this restaurant good luck and keep up the good work in this tough times and take good reviews as appreciation and bad reviews as a way for getting better in certain areas. Horrible service. Asked for Sambhar which never came. Food was extra delayed. Quality of food is excellent but service is very very poor.

Dosas are ok ok. But price I felt is high. Buffet price is okay but taste of the items served was not finger licking.

This is one of the best south Indian vegetarian restaurants in Mississauga. It's been three months now they opened in this area. The light arrangement and the decor is amazing. There is much more parking space and waiting time is comparitively lesser than their Brampton branch. The staff were polite and asked how we want the dish to be served. Explained the dishes when asked for details. Chilly idly is a must try. All the best guys.

Taste was okay in comparison with other south indian restaurants. Dosa was a bit over cooked and burnt. Pav bhaji was too dry and quantity was also quite less. The only thing I like was the taste of sambar and everything else was not upto my expectations.

Food is decent. Service too slow can't blame the staff as they do their best. Recommended if ready to wait a long time for an order. Hope they rectify this and take this review to be constructive.

Near my house so no more long commutes to eat dhosa or long lineups. Price is very competitive and reasonable and good taste to go. Simple decor, big tables for large families (4+). Many choices, time well spent.

Went in with great expectations but it was a disappointment.

Table was not clean, chunks of food on the floor (below the table) and two of the spoons provided had food remnants.

One of the item ordered was never served, we asked to cancel it as we were at the point of asking for the bill.
When we gave the spoons (with food remnants) back, we had to ask again for new spoons. We had to ask for glasses (after almost 15 mins) to pour the water from the water jug. Given the restaurant is new, there is room for improvement.

Taste (2 out of 5)
One of the two dosas ordered was undercooked, the bajji batter was bland (no salt), sambar needs to be cooked further we could taste the raw spices.

Having enjoyed South Indian food at other restaurants across Mississauga (Gurulaxmi, Saravana Bhavan, Udipi), we were excited to have a restuarant right in our neighbourhood, I really hope you can work on the taste and cleanliness.

The food quality is okay. Service and food quantity were good. We ordered sambar vada and expected the vadas to be crispy but they were not. Overall, there are better restaurants for South Indian food in the GTA. I would appreciate if they improved the food quality

This is go-to restaurant for good and healthy food. All other places, we get over stuffed with excessive oily and spicy food. This place keeps our palate light and yet full. Only thing they should improve is on table management. Friendly but not very efficient staff.

We've had the worst experience with the quality of food and service received just now. Dosas were served cold, chappati and aloo bhaji were stale, and sambhar was at best lukewarm. When addressed with the staff (Kiran), he argued back saying that wasn't the case. Charged us for the chappati on the basis that "1/3 was eaten" when all that was eaten was one small piece. The manager (Jai) was unavailable and there was noone in the entire restaurant to take it off the bill. Dosas were unreluctantly changed but served with ice cold chutneys.

Apparently you need to be "South Indian" according to Kiran, the server, to know how dosas are served and eaten. Really disappointing to see such a poor representation of one of the tastiest Indian cuisines.be it the food or the deplorable service Annalakshmi has to offer! With the restaurant at not even 10% capacity, there isn't much hope for this restaurant lasting more than a year, if that!

Bad customer service, laid back attitude and most importantly, worst south Indian food I have ever had. Waste of money.

Food is good.but there are other restaurants in Mississauga for south Indian cuisine where the food is tastier

Visited with the family last weekend during the holidays. It is a newer location of the one in Brampton. An all vegetarian southern Indian restaurant (no alcohol) located in the plaza near Winston Churchill and Argentia (NW Mississauga), just south of Highway 401.

We were a group of 6 and when we reached, the restaurant was empty. Thought we may have made a mistake - I mean the reviews are good so why are there no patrons here? Decide to give it a try and find out how the food and service is here.

To try, we had the "idli - vada" combo and various types of dosas (Mysore masala, pav bhaji, chilli paneer and spring vegetable). The combo took a while to get but both items were hot and served with "sambhar" (south Indian style dal) and spiced coconut chutney. The dosas were served as they were been made (individually, not in one go - kudos for that!) While we had requested some of these to be made crispy, all were made in the same manner (soft). If it is requested crispy but it is not possible to do so, pls let the customer know!

Also tried the masala chai - that was liked by everyone who had it. Just have to be careful with taking out the small steel glass from the small bowl of hot tea it is served with.

Service is on the slow side - we had to wait several times for one of the staff members to come over to have another dosa or something else. They are friendly and helpful with questions one may have.

By the time we finished, the restaurant was busy and we noticed other patrons were waiting to be seated. Hope the quality is maintained and service improved. Highly recommended for vegetarian south Indian foods (idli, dosa, etc.)

The food was alright but service was horrendously slow. We all got our food at different times. Some items didn't come until we were ready to leave. The staff has no sense of urgency, organization, or customer service. Very disappointing.

Excellent food. Enjoyed the crisp medhu vara with the sambhar and " dal something". The kesar halwa and savian were delicious. And the filter coffee to top off the meal is not to be missed. But the lineup at the buffet primarily because of insufficient bowls is not acceptable. Avoid the place on peak weekend hours unless you are prepared to wait.

Great environment, very friendly and welcoming staff. The restuarant is at a great neighborhood of Argentia and very convenient. A lot of parking space available in front of the restaurant and around it.
I've been here a couple of times had Sambar and Channa poori today. Although I'm not a south indian food expert but according to my taste buds the food is amazingly good and the price is also reasonable.

Even when busy the food comes out quick

Ordered a Mysore masala dosa with onions and was a bit disappointed. It was just raw red onions diced up next to the potato masala. Some of the edge of the dosa was burned (all that dark brown on the right side.

The biggest issue was that the Mysore spice was not the least bit flavourful. It looks noticeable in the pics but really there wasn't much paste. Even eating the concentrated parts I tasted nothing and just got heat. Chutneys were great: coriander, tomato and coconut. The coriander one didn't taste coconut based and was quite flavourful. It was good. Sambar was also great. Not much substance but I prefer it like a soup anyways.

For the convenience I will come back again to try something else. There is a Madras masala dosa on the menu with "coconut" spices. When I asked about it they said it was just a spicier Mysore. They did have some interesting options like a spring dosa (with or without the potato masala), chilly paneer masala dosa and pav bhaji dosa.

2nd visit: got a chilli idly to go and a pav bhaji dosa. Bhaji was great along with the chutneys and sambar. Dosa itself disappoints again. It came out pretty close to a paper dosa which is not what I wanted. The chilli idly was excellent. Came out like a dry chilli paneer dish, would definitely have it again. At 5 on a Saturday it got busy by the time I was done. Food came quick like last time

3rd visit: got a spring vegetable dosa but does come with potato masala. It's the one pictured in pieces. I think I'll try it with cheese next time so it holds together better. Finally 3rd times the charm for a great dosa.

Beautiful place and friendly staff. The food was quick and tasty. This is the first place I liked the idly - sambar combination, with the thick and creamy sambar unlike the usual watery sambar.

I dropped by at the newly opened Annalakshmi at Mississauga for lunch with my family. I was so happy that there is a South Indian vegetarian option for my family. My overall experience was quite encouraging though it started off with a disappointment. I went there for the lunch buffet which they have at their Brampton branch, which the staff said is not available yet but have assured it will start in a month's time.the good news folks is that they claim that they are increasing the number of items on the lunch buffet menu. I am surely waiting for this one.

Been here twice. The dosas are fantastic.
1. It would nice if they increased the quantity of sambhar with the dosa. This is a minor issue.
2. The staff need better training. The second time I went, I found the staff to be rude and pushy. Not a great way to generate repeat customers.

Had a brunch today with spl rava dosa, was excellent n loved the white chuttney. Must visit! Had the dish after an year.got the same taste when I had from my back home.really thought I missed but gonna visit again.

Nice food and good ambience. They could try to get on the morning brunch buffets which thier other branches and competitors do. Staffs were polite and friendly. Must go place for dosa lovers.

This branch picked up the best spot for South Indian restaurant especially when none is around. But don’t go with big hopes at least a couple weeks. Place looks to have overwhelming response but ready to handle, I did went out to check out this place and looks the restaurant is still in build up phase and order process not matured to handle all seat simultaneously. Staff is friendly and trying to keep up with response. Food is not the ethnic South Indian few recipes were altered to taste but that’s not why a person walks in to a South Indian restaurant. Chutneys and sambhar tasted entirely different than actual it should be.mysore dosa had not the infused layer of chutney it usually has. Time server took was moderate but people were waiting to getting served. Infrastructure is ok and location the BEST. The point of sales machine looked not the top of line but some startup solution based. The machine pops up email or phone number for sending bill. No wondering this machine gathers burn r and data for back markets selling. Totally unclear. Hopefully the place will be super circulating in no time more customers and more orders since the staff was all positive. Waiting a week to check out dosas again.
