Annex Academy of Music

AAoM is a great place for learning a new instrument. The instructor I have is a practising musician and they are open to your goals for wanting to learn. Really flexible with expectations and willing to work with you!

Been learning how to play the drums for more than 3 months now. Love coming down to class, Adam is a great teacher and he really focuses the learning plan to how I’m adapting. He understands the struggles that his students face and is super patient. The class itself has a really friendly vibe.

Our son really enjoys his private drum lessons at the Academy. His teacher is both talented and encouraging and provides good feedback and the right level of challenge of the homework. It’s also never an issue when there’s a substitute teacher, they have all been great and it’s good to know the quality of the lessons doesn’t change depending on the instructor.

Another huge benefit with this place is the communication, Teri always answer emails promptly and is very clear with all information. It feels like she is very “on top of things”. There are also gentle reminders a couple of hours before each class and an email summary with lesson notes that makes it easy for us parents to follow the development even if we are not present in the classroom, as well as homework instructions.

Overall a great place to learn music!

Amazing music school and really fun and engaging teachers. My daughter loves attending and looks forward to music classes every week. Convenient location by the subway as well.

My daughter started piano lessons with Annex academy during the pandemic. She was matched with a very talented and super kid friendly girl named Lieke. She has also had some substitute teachers which were great! She has learned with kindness and laughter during her lessons in an online environment. I am super happy with this school and look forward to her progressing even further. I very much recommend this school full of talented teacher of music. They have always been very quick to reply any questions and flexible with changes Big thank you to all at the academy mostly Lieke (teacher) and Teri - my contact person there!

My 2 kids aged 6 and 8 have been taking piano lessons with Annex academy of music for more than 2 years. They both absolutely love the lessons. The progress they have made at this young age is mind blowing. The teachers are very talented, knowledgeable, encouraging and supportive. Teri is very accommodating. The kids are encouraged to participate in recitals, annual exams and competitions. It’s a great school. I have been recommending AAOM to all my friends and I can’t recommend highly enough.

The Annex Academy of Music is a real gem in the city. The teachers are knowledgeable, patient and all excellent instructors. Teri is attentive to her students' needs and makes re-scheduling classes easy. The optional recitals provide students with an opportunity to set reasonable goals, build confidence and renew enthusiasm for learning music. It is a whole package. My so started flute lessons this school year with Savic and we have been nothing but pleased with the lessons and his progress! We just started our daughter in flute lessons with Bennett and I can see he will also be an excellent teacher. I would definitely recommend Annex Music Academy for anyone looking for lessons as they are very helpful and accommodating for your schedule and so in tune with the needs of young music students!
