Annie's Seafood Restaurants

LOVE all the gluten free options, it was so nice to have a full GF menu instead of 1-2 options. The onion rings were my fave, I previously had the GF haddock which was so delicious! I love this restaurant and I can’t wait to come back for the GF deep fried mars bar!

From a gluten free perspective-we have options folks! Everything is gluten free for this celiac! However, a little heavy on the grease. Granted everything ordered was fried - onion rings/fried mushrooms/haddock and fries (one GF one not) and a kids fish and fries. Make sure to take your Crestor before this one! It filled up our need for fish and chips for the foreseeable future thus if you have a hankering-go there. Worth it but it’s heavy.

The food is delicious! The fish was beautifully cooked, and the portions were generous.
Many safe gluten free options available to Celiac customers as well, including deep-fried onion rings, mushrooms and cheese sticks!

All the positive reviews in the world can not begin to do this place justice. Amazing food by amazing people. Gluten free? This is a SAFE PLACE TO EAT. There are no compromises here. No accidental contamination. Eat. Relax. Have a beer.

The server were very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable! Food was fairly quick and tasted amazing. One whole side of the menu is gluten free! They also have little stickers they put on every gluten free dish you get so you never have to worry! Not too much seating inside, so arrive early to get a seat.but they do take out as well and had some outdoor seating still!

Tried the gluten free haddock and my very first onion rings from the food truck yesterday.have celiac disease and this was so delicious and safe. Worth the drive to Stratford

Do you know what it’s like to be gluten intolerant? I do and it’s very challenging especially when going out to restaurants.
Yesterday we drove up to Stratford on advice from a dear friend and we were not disappointed with Annie’s.
Virginia and her staff were friendly and very helpful. We tried The Sampler and took Halibut dinners home. Deliciousness, especially since it’s been over 10 years to have battered fish with fresh fries. I had no issues last and am reminded people care.
Virginia we will definitely be back.

First time here and we were not impressed. The fries were tough and tasteless. Even the newfie fries were tough and had no peas like any other place we've ordered from. The clam strips were also very tough and dry with little flavour. The seafood sauce for the shrimp meal said tangy on the menu but had no bite. The shrimp meal for $22 wasn't bad but the shrimps were pretty small. Our waitress took our order fast enough but it took a long time for our food to come even though it was mid afternoon and not busy. Oh well, you don't know until you try. We won't be back.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. This was our 1st visit but will definitely not be our last! The GF onion rings tasted better than any regular onion ring I have ever had. Julia the waitress is amazing and I had the pleasure of chatting a bit with Virginia. Can not praise this restaurant enough.

I live in a Gluten-free household, migraine trigger, it's real. Anyway Annie's has perfected a GF batter that is well, perfect. I prefer thin batter, they have 3 choices. The Newfi fries are amazing as well. Big portions, good food.

My sister and I took a trip to Stratford to visit a surplus store which led us to Annies. My sister is on a keto diet and was pleasantly surprised they had a gluten-free menu. We both decided to have the halibut poutine. Hers was gluten-free mine was regular. The best poutine I've ever had. Calamari was to die for, and my sister said she was making a pig of herself eating gluten-free, deep-fried mushrooms. We raved about this restaurant to everyone in Windsor. I would recommend this place to any one gluten-free or not!

Home town food with big portions. We enjoyed the fish and chips including hand cut fries and coldslaw.

From the moment you step inside you are happily greeted. Largest gluten free options I've ever seen on a menu. Service was exceptional. You HAVE to try their banana bread with maple icing and walnuts for dessert. Most of their desserts are gluten free. They even offer gluten free take home meals in a freezer by the entrance.

I have only had the lightly battered halibut or haddock with sides but they are to die for. I love the food and the service, you can't beat it. I wanted to let them know that it's always appreciated that they are so generous with the sides. So many places skimp out on them and they aren't the expensive part of the meal so it's not necessary, and it's pet peeve of mine. You guys are awesome, thank you for always producing amazing meals.

Annie’s has quickly become a favourite — the food is always fresh, great portions and the staff are wonderful. Bonus: a large gluten free menu with a dedicated workspace, gf fryers and all gf orders are labelled clearly.

Was there the Sunday just before they were shutting down for a weeks vacation. Maybe the fryer oil could have been better but was still a good fish and chips place. We would eat there again next time we are in town for a play.

We have driven past Annie’s for many years now and finally decided to try it out. Big selling feature for us was seeing that they were advertising a large gluten free menu (my wife has a very high sensitivity to gluten). They weren’t kidding! Essentially the full menu had gluten free alternatives with separate dedicated fryers! Our fish and chips were amazing and the servers and other staff were very friendly even though we arrived later in the evening. We highly recommend this great local restaurant for all who enjoy seafood!

Met a friend for dinner before seeing an enjoyable Hamlet. They had an extensive gluten free menu.including a selection of gluten-free beers. I had fish and chips for the first time in 35 years and a great dark beer! Service was excellent. Annie's was a really nice surprise and well worth the drive from Toronto to Stratford!

So very good. My husband was diagnosed with celiac in 2016 and hasn't had fish and chips since. We live in the states and were returning to the Stratford festival for the first time in years and he started looking for gluten free eats in Stratford. This was where he wanted to go first and it did not disappoint. In fact we returned a second time during our trip. The food is great. We especially enjoyed the halibut. The Newfie fries are delicious. And they had gf pie! As a wife who dearly loves her celiac husband, seeing his excitement and happiness eating onion rings was priceless. The owners are very personable and welcoming. The waitresses care and listen attentively. Highly recommend!

Jùst picked up a Halibut dinner with fries and a second piece of grilled halibut. We practically needed a microscope to see both pieces of fish. The dinner piece was in light batter, it was almost 1/4 inch thick once the batter was cut into, and measured about 2 inches by 4 inches. The grilled piece was slightly thinner, and because it was so thin it was dry and tasteless. Not exactly good value for $49.72. THE FRIES WERE GOOD, and plentiful but the 2 pieces of Halibut were shameful. It will be a cold day in hell before we go back there!

The portions and the price just don't align. I know fish is expensive but razzle dazzle me with a plate of fries. I think I had 10 fries on my plate. And I had to pay extra for coleslaw.coleslaw!? !? !? !

If your looking for a place to get some amazing food before heading into Stratford for some paddling or a show, this is your place!
It was a matter of opening the door, and I already loved it. It was the perfect blend of humour, sass, and sweetheartedness (is this even a word?) to make it an awesome experience.
The food was amazing! If you're unsure of going with a gluten free meal because of flavour, look no further. I directly compared the gluten free garlic bread with the regular garlic bread, and I honestly think the gluten free bread was even better. I've never seen a host cater to someone with special dietary needs as much as this place.
Virginia's personality made me feel like I was visiting my favourite aunt or something. Hilarious but warm hearted personality.
We will 100% be going here any time we are in Stratford.

Drove in from London just to have lunch here. Definitely worth the drive. Can't say I've had better fish and chips, gluten free or not.

Our first time in Stratford and we were amazed to find this hidden gem. A menu full of delicious gluten-free options, so we didn’t have to settle on salad. Portion was large and the food was great. We even got entertained the whole time by Virginia who really cared to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Such a nice experience and great food. This place is a Celiacs dream but can be enjoyed by everyone. Thank you!

Way too overcooked. Taste poor and was difficult to cut. I saw the chef wiggling fish around in the air when I walked out, maybe he’s special Idk.

This was my first time trying Annie's. The fish was delicious.done to perfection. The fresh-cut fries were excellent. Very generous portion, and the staff were friendly, and really seemed to care.

Visited for the first time today, the food and service were amazing! One of our party is gluten-free and they had a very extensive GF menu, they even labelled his meal with a GF sticker when they bought it out so no confusion could be had. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the haddock and shrimp dinner and the amount of food for only $21 was insane. We will definitely be regulars now! Highly recommend.

Fish was great. Coleslaw was spectacular. Unfortunately, fries didn’t live up to potential. Too greasy and takeout condiments didn’t include ketchup. Vibe was fun and I’ll give it another chance.

Honestly I wish I came back here on my short visit to Stratford. Just friendly staff and a selection of mouth watering food. Looking forward to coming back here.

Ah-mazing! We are celiac and always looking for places who do gluten-free. Annie's hit the nail on the head. The staff is super friendly and service is great. The food we have had each time has been amazing and such a treat for people who can't get gluten-free deep fried goodness elsewhere. Wish we lived closer! (but our waistline thanks us! Lol)

Went for dinner with the wife, try to do this at least once a week.
The service was good - our waitress was friendly and polite, and knew the menu well.
The food was ok - nothing spectacular, but I wasn't expecting anything spectacular, so I won't complain about it.
The prices were a little high though - the dinner for 2, with one ice tea and 1 can of pop was $62. The dinner was 2 pieces of blue cod, 1 piece of haddock, 1 piece of halibut, french fries and one SMALL bowl of coleslaw. A more reasonable price for all this would have been $50.
All in all, it wasn't bad, and I would be willing to eat there again.

We were just passing through Stratford and thought we'd stop in. Great and friendly staff. Just ordered our meals to go, but the dinning area was beautifully quaint and clean and the decor was very well done. Food was great!

Very surprised and was the best Seafood I've had not being on a Coast
