Antica Osteria Italian Eatery Limited

I’ve been going to this restaurant since 2016. I have always loved this place. However today was the first time I’ve been here in about a year and it was completely different. The food is small portions and they use the cheapest accompaniment like carrots and peas. No mashed potatoes or even roasted potatoes. I have no problem paying for quality but when you pay $64 for a steak and $14 for 3 pieces of bruschetta, you should also deliver quality. That doesn’t seem to be the case here anymore.

Unfortunately it seems Brampton is slowly losing all of its good Italian restaurants.

Food was okay, really enjoyed their risotto. No heat in the restaurant so it was cold. But service was good and it’s a family run business. The grandma is still in the back cooking!

The food tasted very stale, had flies all over my plate. Unhygienic, distasteful and expensive.

My husband and I arrived for our reservation, when we walked in a gentleman I thought would be greeting us looked at us as though he was bothered we were there.same person did this the first time I went, I chalked it up to he may have been having a bad shift, evidently I was wrong.
A young lady approached us very nicely and proceeded to take us to our table only to be stopped by another staff member who reprimanded her about where she was sitting us. We where directly back to entry where we waited 10mins no big deal we finally sit at our table no one comes over for 15min then we get asked for drinks only to be left unattended no drinks the waiter same person that look bothered we showed up said he would be right with us as he's tending to a group that arrived after us.
I was shocked I was able to reserve a table for 6: 30 on a Friday that never was the case before, I understand why this may not be a destination.

We had a beautiful tasty dinner. Grilled calamari was delicious. Yellow tuna was perfect. We enjoyed tiramisu.
Amazing place!

Small portions. Overpriced. Lobster tail tasted weird. Steak was VERY salty. Fettuccine noodles were under cooked. Never going back.

This is my go to place! The authentic Italian food never disappoints and the service is exceptional! This is truly a hidden gem. My favourite is their gnocchi, chicken/veal marsala, tiramisu. Everything on their menu is amazing. Do yourself a favour and hit up this beautiful restaurant!

Great Quality and absolutely delicious food! Definitely a Hidden Gem and is a must try. Owners are wonderful and have a great family history! Will definitely be back often.

Had the 12 oz NY Strip with Risotto. The meal was delicious and so was the fried Calamari. Top notch service and beautiful decor inside. Seating on the patio as well. Highly recommend.

We had dinner for my moms 70th birthday on May 23rd and spent $640 at this restaurant. Here’s our feedback about AOIEL:

Pros:
- appetizers were good
- good menu selection

Cons:
- food was not edible because it had too much salt. Several guests at our table couldn’t eat their meal. One person asked for cream sauce to cut down the saltiness - It didn’t help much.
- one kid meal was burnt
- portions were very small for the price paid
- service was not great (servers are asking to collect plates when people were clearly still eating)

We raised our concerns to the restaurant privately during the event and then on May 25th by email. We made it clear both times, we are not looking for compensation but acknowledgement they would address the issue with their staff.

Very disappointing experience and I would not recommend this place based on food quality and service. Save your money or support other small businesses.

Food was great, services was phenomenal. Had 8oz cuban lobster tail with fettuccine, wife had risotto. Plus we ordered the buratta salad (special item) bruschetta and fried calamari. Deff will go back.

I booked Antica Osteria to host my husbands 50th birthday celebration. I had the pleasure of working with Isabella. Isabella is very knowledgeable and provided great suggestions, which lead to a very memorable experience. The staff are friendly and attentive. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Angela and Chris and the warm environment they have been able to foster. We opted for a 3 course meal, the food was amazing and exceeded expectations. This was the best experience and I would encourage anyone planning a gathering to go to Antica Osteria. Great atmosphere, excellent food and outstanding people.

Stopped by this place for a quick dinner after an exhausting hike. Everyone was ravenous and was just excited to get food. The bread and sauce they served us first after we ordered was super yummy! The calamari tasted fresh and they were quite big. We got the rigatoni rosé and 4-cheese tortellini pastas, as well as the Milanese and the zucchini encrusted sea bass. The sea bass was quite bland and dry but the zucchini it was topped with was quite salty but I guess it went well together. I don’t really like eggplant so the Milanese wasn’t my fav dish but my friends loved it. The pastas were yummy but nothing spectacular. All in all, it was a really solid meal!

Another great experience. Antica Osteria is my favorite restaurant. The service is always excellent and the food is superb. Never a disappointment. We'll see you again soon!

OMG who knew this place was hiding here all this time. Had the most amazing meal and the servers were the most personable I’ve met in a while. I definitely recommend a visit, your tastebuds will thank you.

Amazing food and staff. A little bit pricey, but well worth it for what you get. Fresh pasta and seafood. Amazing and a must try if I do say so.

The one and only reason I am giving 1 star is because of Jack, our server. He was amazing! It’s too bad food and other servers failed miserably! Will not be returning! The restaurant is not good and far too expensive!

Just had a wonderful dinner at Antica Osteria. From the lovely young lady who seated us and checked on us all night, Chris our server, the bartender that makes a mean Negroni to the chefs that cooked a wonderful meal this place was fantastic all around. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend the lamb chops and the chicken & shrimp pasta!

My experience was good but I don't like how the menu don't have the prices shocked to know 3 shrimps was $10.50 and a lobster tail linguine cost $65.00 and the food was a small amount

We were extremely disappointed with our dinner. Pre-covid our dinners had always been excellent. Shortly after the lockdowns were lifted, we went back and were surprised with how it had declined with respect to: a.the service.b. The bread.c. The dinner. We decided to give it a second and try again. Perhaps our other dinner was an anomaly however, to no avail. The bread is over-the-counter buy at the Costco in a large plastic bag. What happened to the previously crusty and delicious European style bread? The wait staff seemed confused with people wandering around and at one point, had only gotten our water and someone approached us with the bill. That same person was wearing slippers which are probably against any kind of government restaurant code. In fairness, the fish (trout) that was ordered was really good yet the filet mignon, ordered medium rare, came well done and tougher than shoe leather. No-one bothered to ask us how our meal was during the course of the dinner. At the end, we were asked and mentioned the filet and that we wouldn't be going back again. Nothing was done to rectify the situation. No-one asked if we wanted coffee. It was super disappointing and after two kicks at the can, we won't be going back. It's a sad day because it used to be so good.

Had a great experience here, the food is excellent better than some of the other Italian restaurants I’ve tried and our server Michael gave exceptional service.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Brampton! Antica is one of my favourite places on this planet. I have had nothing but amazing experiences all thanks to Angela. She is beyond fantastic and such an asset to your team. Angela is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I always receive the best service and the best food ever. This is a must try. I wish I could rate it more than 5 stars because it is extremely delicious and they have a beautiful patio. This restaurant is great for large parties or a date night. Fantastic restaurant and a must try in Brampton!

Had a great experience here for my wife's birthday. The food and service is top notch and everything tasted fresh and delicious, Will definitely return.

Fantastic experience with pur party of 9 here last night. All the staff were fantastic, especially our server. The pizza was amazing, and they went above and beyond to ensure there was no cross contamination between my gluten free pizza and my friends regular pizzas. As a celiac that was much appreciated and when we come back to the falls we will be sure to visit again!

We came here highly recommended by friends. The food was great, our waiter was good, but management and their lack of organization and constant rushing in and out (like piece work) left a sour taste. Not sure I will recommend this place if management always behaves like that. Maybe they were having a bad day.

Loved the food here! I got the lamb which I was told would be fall off the bone good and tender and they were correct! Other dishes that were ordered was the calamari, brushetta, spaghetti, gnocchi, and the surf and turf. Everyoneloved d their food. The place looks really small but we were seated comfortably. Food came out fairly quickly as well. Like how we were asked a few times if everything was OK, that was kind. Did is quite pricey, but worth it.

Visited for lunch June 17th @ 130 pm. Within 10 min got Seated in the patio ordered within five minutes and received appetizers and drinks within less than 10 minutes.service was impressive for just two staff we saw and the meals came out hot and fresh. The accommodated my special order and Substitution of my partner in his order I’m sorry for the redness in the pictures the umbrella was right above us and was red. Place was clean and service fast. The bruschetta was nice and reasonable priced and the pasta was fresh and the portion size was large.
For my personal and my spouses taste the tiramisu wasn’t the best just left an odd aftertaste. The price was a little bit on the higher end but the pasta was worth it. 1 appetizer, 2 pasta, 2 pop and one desert was with tip n tax $100

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, starting from the receptionist who just hangs up on when you are trying to make a reservation and answers rudely to the question if there are any available tables at the moment.
Do not come with small kids there, as you will be yelled by the manager/owner because your 3 year old knocked of the water glass. Then, to "mitigate" the conflict you will be asked to go outside for a fist fight by the same manager/owner.

The food was exquisite and the service was attentive as well. I had ordered the lobster pasta special which was off the menu.

We went on Father’s Day with family. Service, food & ambiance is great.
Finally found a nice Italian restaurant in Brampton.
Will recommend it all the time.

Went for my birthday in March. Food was amazing ambiance a bit wanting but it was still nice and cozy. In my opinion food was better than the ambiance lol.l had lobster tail with pork (had bacon strip wrap around it) and shrimp pasta. Lobster 10/10, Pork 7/10 (a bit salty for me) and pasta 8.5/10. Ambiance 7

The changes you make to your meal are always considered an up-charge and substitution does not exist. Changing the type of pasta you get in the meal to your preference bumps up the price completely. The meal I received was did not include the up-charge I paid for - champagne cream sauce. The tables are very crowded and close together, not a lot of table privacy. Will not be returning.

Easily one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to. Everything was so fresh and delicious I was quite impressed. The calamari was perfect, the bruschetta was tasty, and the main courses were amazing. My lobster ravioli was something special and I enjoyed my meal. Portions were a good size for the price too! The mixed drinks were also presented nicely with a overall good flavour. I highly recommend you try it out here!

Coming here with young children is risky. If the child misbehaves the owner just might yell at you from across the room. Approaching the person to find out what the problem is could be even riskier. You will be offered to go outside for a fight, a way to pass time as you are waiting for your meal.
Not sure if the person was having a bad day or business isn’t going well. But that really shouldn’t be my problem when I’m taking the family out to a “classy” restaurant.

Reservation at this place are not final. We booked reservations at this restaurant 3 weeks ago for my daughters birthday on Sunday May 1st, 2022 and were called 3 days prior the reservation telling us they are cancelling the reservation because the have a larger party coming in. We proceeded to try to rebook for a different time and they were rude and hung up on us. This is absolutely unacceptable customer service for a family owned establishment. I will personally never dine here and again.

You should try Fanzorelli's Restaurant & Wine Bar as they were so very helpful in saving my daughters birthday and fitting us in on such short notice. The person in the phone was so helpful and in shock that they would do that to their customers.

The service wasn't bad but I wish there was more effort put into the food the pasta was under cook the steak was over done and no flavour and really don't rush customers because you over book parties. Will mot be coming over.

We visited this restaurant on the Thanksgiving evening. We decided to visit this place based on the high reviews and we were definitely not disappointed. Nice cozy ambience and seating. We ordered a Sangria, Bruschetta, Thanksgiving turkey dinner, Chicken Parmigiana and Homemade Gnocchi. I must say everything was delicious. For dessert we ordered the Chocolate temptation and newly introduced Chocolate bombs. My son really loved it. It was a chocolate ball filled with tiny marshmallows and when the waitress poured hot milk on it, the ball broke and dissolved in the milk. It was topped with whipped cream and chocolate. Quite a treat to watch too:) The staff was very friendly and courteous. Price wise, I did find it a bit on the higher side though. But we were expecting it. Had a great time!

18% automatic gratuity…poor service, I’d have expected better, especially being my first time there. Food was average. Billed one price, and when paying was charged another price (more than the bill). I don’t think I’ll be visiting this place again. Horrible experience.

My family and I had the worst experience at Antica Osteria this past weekend. The service was so bad, the hostess was rude.
I made a reservation for a specific time but still had to wait an hour to be seated. Than had to wait another hours for dinner and if I did not say something we would of be waiting longer.
Way over price for what you get. I would not go back nor recommend.

I’ve heard about this place many times but I’ve never been until today. It’s a cute restaurant tucked away off of mayfield and kennedy. The service is great and the food is excellent! We ordered the butternut squash soup and one of the evening specials—a lobster tail pasta. Both were amazing! They also have a cute patio! Can’t wait to go back!

We stumbled onto this place by chance. It was absolutely amazing! The server was knowledgeable, service was great! Food was amazing. Everything was perfect. We will definitely be back! By far our new favourite restaurant. We went to another Italian restaurant with my in laws on the weekend and its safe to say it wasn't the same there as it was here. Portions were perfect. Food tasted heavenly! This is a must try.

Tucked away gem on Mayfield Rd in Brampton. The calamari was extremely fresh and fantastic. The gorgonzola gnocchi was amazing as well as the lobster tail fettucine. Dinner was served piping hot, made to order. Mike our server, was very informative and kind. In fact, the whole team there was very hospitable. Will definitely recommend, and will definitely be back. Sorry to say that my experience at this so called Italian restaurant was HORRIBLE
Was taken there for my birthday, my fiancé’s veal was old and it had a bad smell to it! We sent it back, the pasta was not even cooked (al dente) no way it was raw the owner didn’t even attempt to speak to us, you best be careful your chairs will be empty one day and your doors closed, that would be a beautiful thing

This came highly recommended from friends. Finally decided to try it for our special event. They had a number of specials that were not on the menu, so it's a good idea to wait to hear those before you select items from the menu. We ordered a number of vegetarian items and they were all delicious with each having their own flavour. They even surprised us with a dessert. Would recommend strongly.
