I rent a storage unit at Apple Storage located at 1655 Dupont St, Toronto

The morning of January 3,2024 I received a call from their employee. I think Aaron but maybe it was the other guy, Brendon.

He told me my rental fee was 5 days late and I told him I knew, and would pay it as soon as i can.

Invoice Date: December 22,2023 $293 (CDA)
Due Date: December 29,2023
Call to me: January 3,2024

It seemed odd to get a call about being just 5 days late just after the Christmas holidays. He kept asking when I would pay the invoice and I kept telling him I would as soon as possible. He didn't like my answer and kept pushing it - "will it be 5 days or 5 months" he said rudely.
I told him again "as soon as i can" at which point he accused me of yelling, which I wasn't.

And then unbelievably he very aggressively said this to me:
"I DON'T KNOW WHO PISSED ON YOUR CHEERIOS THIS MORNING BUT DON'T TAKE IT OUT ON ME"
Who speaks to a customer like that?

I told him I clearly wasn't yelling and I started to explain why I couldn't give a specific date and WHILE I WAS TALKING HE HUNG UP ON ME.
Who hangs up on a customer like that?

He was rude, aggressive and hostile. A completely unprofessional and inappropriate way to talk to anyone, especially a customer

This is not the first time I've experienced their rudeness, but it was the worst.

The next morning I received an email that my access was suspended.

On the positive side, the building is nice and clean.

Friendly knowledgeable staff.building and units are very clean and I feel like my possessions are safe and secure. I love the fact I can use the storage around my schedule do to the fact its always open

I found Brandon the property manager to be insulting. Be prepared for the price gouging policies of the company on long term customers. Check out Public Storage, just a bit east in Dupont instead. They offer first month free and have better reviews.

Super easy to get started. Very nice and helpful staff, and a great/ comfortable vibe. Clean spaces and easy to access. Nicest storage depot I've ever been to, no doubt.

We've always lived nearby this facility but never needed storage. This week we had some emergency renovations we needed to complete at the house and required storage ASAP. Brendan was a great help during a stressful time, walking us through the process and showing up the most suitable unit for the items we needed to store. We appreciate his patience and assistance during such a chaotic time!

Actually a pretty cool storage space. If your comming in with a big truck there is a separate entrance around the corner you can backup into a loading dock.

If you’re looking to store your items somewhere, this place is it! I am new to the city and have been in need of storage as I just moved from BC with tons of items that don’t fit in my studio apartment. After completing my research and checking out my options for self storage downtown, I am seriously impressed by Apple Storage. I came in with a list of questions and was pleasantly greeted by the manager, Brendan. He communicated the quick wait (understandable as a result of Covid) and I was in within minutes being helped. He was incredibly polite, informative and not pushy, something truly hard to come by! He patiently explained each of their storage options as well as pricing then proceeded to give me a tour so I can get an idea for sizing. I was treated with kindness and respect, despite all that was going on that day. Highly recommend!

Is this place even a real business? I’ve called twice in the past few days during business hours and nobody picks up. Left a voice mail and it still hasn’t been returned. Seems shady. I’d avoid.

I have had 2 lockers at Planet Storage for over 5 years but am particularly impressed by the new management (Apple) who have proven to be extremely pleasant and accommodating to deal with.
Both Manager Brendan, and Assistant Manager Vanessa are both accessible and helpful, and will go out of their way to be accommodating to any specific concerns or issues.
The prices are in line with or better than other facilities in the area, and easy 24/7 access to secure and well maintained units is what it is all about.right?
I would love to see a few more carts and dollies available, and more easily locatable washrooms but otherwise it is a very viable storage option.

“Planet Storage” changed over to “Apple Self Storage” 3 moths ago. A very nice group of front line staff that feels like they really care. The day I came in they stayed 1/2 hr later to help someone with a late move in due to winter weather traffic. I liked that I could pay weekly instead of monthly! That will change as of January 2020. There’s a farmers’ market in the courtyard & coffee shop, fitness training club attached.

It has been a month since I started renting a locker from Apple Storage @ The Planet. It's is really clean and I was able to kneel without getting my pants dirty. The Lady Vanessa was very nice and answered the same questions a few times each as I am totally forgetful. Entry is very simple and I can access the locker antime any day of the week. The elevator is quite large. I recently found out I can even use my locker as an shipping address and location for a small business. Amazing!

Since Apple storage took over planet storage here the experience has been smoother, less expensive and more flexible. Their rules around moving into bigger or smaller units was much easier and customer friendly.

I like your lockers they are secure and safe to use. Also I like your company the password on your keypads are easy to use. There is one more thing I like it's always clean and the security is always very well managed.

Quick and excellent customer service, I especially want to single out Vanessa at the office who helped my find the right size storage locker, and located one in a good location near the loading doors. The space is clean, well-lit, climate controlled, has lots of carts and dollies, and the loading dock is easily accessible off either Dupont or Edwin.

Planet Storage at 1655 Dupont, managed by Apple Self-Storage is and has been a well-run, well-managed self-storage unit. I've rented a unit here for a couple of years, it's been a positive experience all around!

The staff -team are fantastic- friendly, helpful, and responsible. It is a pleasure to work with them. They bring a great energy to the space.

Great storage facility but on the more expensive side. I live in the junction so I pay for the convenience.

I Have used this facility on a couple of occasions during our previous home renovations due to proximity and it being a local business.

We went back thinking we would use them again for the same reasons as we recently sold our house and are downsizing. Called up to get some prices and sizes all was going well. When I went to check out some units in person the units they had available had posts running thru the middle of them which substantially limited the space. When I asked about other units they said that’s how most of them came and have been priced accordingly. The two other occasions we didn’t have posts running thru the middle of the room which I thought was odd.

I asked if we could receive a concession because of this and that we were repeat customers having had been their for multi year stays in the past the staff member said she would enquirer and get back to me.
After following up each day with no new information I finally got one on the 4th day stating that the price was the price and the pole was normal and priced accordingly. I was a bit disappointed as I had waited 4 days for nothing at this point after being assured that something could be worked out as we were repeat customers and the post in the unit.

I went to another storage place closer to our new townhouse/condo which they were absolutely professional and just as nice a storage facility if not nicer and provided me with better pricing coming right off the street with a slightly larger unit and no Pole running thru the middle of the unit.

Note to the business, keeping a customer is always easier than finding a new one as Planet Storage just lost $3800 do to poor customer service, Little to No follow up and units that mostly have large structural poles running thru the middle.

I’d advise storing elsewhere and not just accepting the units they offer as their are better units and prices available if you look a little harder.
