This Apple Store used to be good, I have bought numerous products here, but recently (last 6-12 months) the service and quality have seriously gone downhill. I went in twice in the last six months, once for buying a new phone and transferring data from my old to new iPhone and just three weeks ago for getting warranty based replacement for my apple iPhone case. Both times the technician was the same, and the manager/leader was the same. And both times their quality of service was horrible. In the first instance they couldn’t figure out how to transfer data, and I eventually figured this out myself. The second time, when it was clearly a manufacturing defect where the case cracked in different spots within 3 months of purchase, they told me it was “normal wear”. I went back home and called support and got it replaced under warranty, with the same exact pictures they took of the case at the store. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE, and DO NOT RELY ON THEIR ADVICE FOR SERVICE OR WARRANTY. The leader’s name is Carrie, and both Carrie and the technician were equally useless and difficult to do business with.
I am taking my business elsewhere for my entire family and friends.

Apple Store Greed?

I’d like to share this incident with everyone just to be wary, and always get a second opinion.

I went to the Apple Store as my iPhone 14 Pro Max started having lots of issues with glitching, freezing, dictation, and a few other issues.

The people at the Apple Store told me that it’s a logistics hardware problem and it would cost me $700 to fix as I did not have a protection plan.

I was going to just buy the new 15 Apple Pro Max and give this phone to my child as a toy. I didn’t end up purchasing one because they didn’t have the colour I wanted in stock and I was going to wait a bit.

When I got home, I remembered that I had my Apple laptop serviced at TRG Computer Solutions in Aurora. So I decided to give them a call to ask them how much they would charge to fix this issue.

They told me to simply back up my phone and do a factory reset and that should solve the problem.

Lo and behold that’s exactly what I did, and my phone was restored to its former state with absolutely no issues!

Extremely appalled at the service at upper Canada Mall Apple Store.

Don’t go to this location, claimed MacBook Air was a write off due to broken logic board. Options were either $700 repair or trading in for a ridiculously low amount and put it towards a new version of the same laptop. They Couldn’t come up with a reason for the malfunction and tried claiming “old” (2018 MacBook Air) laptops are liable to random failures even while in perfect condition otherwise. Issue just ended up being a broken Io port (1/7th of the price)

Completely disorganized, lack of care and efficiency, we saw a bunch of apple staff standing around and the person greeting us told us today there was a half hour wait.

He said to wait where you are and then another customer came in and got serviced before us, and no he did not have a queue or appointment because I was watching them the whole time. July 11th around 530pm.

Was paying attention to this other female staff working the iPhone and she was so slow and at times just standing around as well.

Geez this is either very poor management and training or mix of that and general unqualified and uncaring staff. You can really tell if someone's being helpful or not and we've been to other apple stores. This one definitely is under performing.

The genius bar did not find the correct problem or maybe they lied about it. My mac book pro suddenly stopped turning on and I took it to Mapleview Apple store for repair. The technician told me that the motherboard was damaged. She suggested to buy a new one since motherboard replacement is more expensive. Then I took it to non Apple store and found out SSD drive was the cause. How is it possible Apple technician cannot even identify the simple issue like that?

Went in to have my iphone 8 battery replaced as I had been meaning to for a while. The phone's battery was obviously on it's last leg, and was shutting down randomly a day before which prompted me to finally get the battery swapped. Made an appointment with Apple UCM and was greeted at the store and told that one of the 'Geniuses' would see me soon. The Genius looked at my phone and listened to my description and zoned in on the detail of it shutting down randomly within the past day. And came to the quick summation of, "you need to get a new phone". I said no thanks, I just want my battery swapped. He insisted that a battery would not fix the problems this phone had. I said, "well, I am willing to risk paying for a new battery and taking my chances that the phone will be fine as the randomly shutting down issue was only within the past day". He said, sorry can't do that, it does not make any sense to fix the phone and that I needed to buy a new phone. I said, so you are refusing to fix this phone even though I am ok with paying the cost of the battery replacement and taking the responsibility of anything after that? His response was, we cannot fix this phone! Terrible customer service.me thinks these Geniuses are commissioned sales people and not technicians.went to another phone repair shop got the battery replaced. Updated the IOS myself, and voila. Iphone 8 lives on! Stay away from these "geniuses". Apple inc. Shame on you.you sell a premium product at premium pricing and this is your service and support at your branded stores? Walked in feeling it was a premium brand and walked away feeling I was walking out of a shady gotcha sucker sales pitch.

Bought an IMac here online for pickup for $3000. Paid in full. It asked me to set up an appointment to pick it up for later that day. I chose a time and went in the allocated timeframe. Arrived at the store and nobody could find my order. Gave them my phone number, email, name, card I used for payment, nothing. They asked for my Apple ID to find it. I don't have one. They said they couldn't help me. I left the store and had to call California to have my purchase refunded.

Horrible customer service and help. The people working there had no clue what they were doing.

Bad experience and a complete waste of my time.

I called this apple help line and a guy named, Matthew helped me out and was wonderful! I suggest if you need any kind of little help you call this place! Leaving 5 starts! I was on hold for only 2 min best wait time I have ever had and took 3 min to fix my problem! Thanks!

This Apple Store used to be great. I visit there once a year and the difference this year was very noticeable. In the past I have been greeted within a minute by one of the staff and helped in a courteous and helpful manner. This year I was totally ignored by everyone when I walked in, so I just proceeded to look on one of the iMacs for information about the AirPods and iPad that I planned to buy. I was there for 30 minutes watching groups of up to 4 employees just standing around chatting amongst themselves. I purposely made eye contact with 3 different employees and they all just looked away. In future I will shop for Apple products at any other store but this one.

Yup. I was lied to and left waiting. I don’t mind the waiting but I do mind being lied to by the person who said they would be helping me or sending someone over to help me get my cell phone repaired. 10 min turned into 30min before They walked a paste me leaving the Apple store so I went to the Genius Bar. I had made an appointment ahead of time but found out what I was told … being informed I was checked in only but found out they never checked me in. WoW. Very professional. Anyways. This is why I made the review. Not happy but that’s life.

Worst customer service bought a screen protector last year for my sons iPhone 13 Pro Max and was told that if it is damaged just bring it back with the receipt and it will be replaced wrong they don’t tell you that you need to get the protector from the manufacturer and then they will change it. Spoke with the manager Steve and told him that I was lied too and he said he could not do anything. Told him I just bought my 14 pro max and with this type of service I will return it and he said bring it back.

Poor service never going to that store.

Worst Apple Store I have ever been too. Immediately costumer service was rude. I came in to order a new MacBook well over 2 thousand dollars and needed help only to be turned away. Was absolutely dumbfounded with the rudeness. Costumer service rep ANGELA, told me to go and order it by myself. I asked some questions politely only to be turned pained and told I don’t know anything. As a women of the lgbtq community I feel absolutely so disrespected, never coming back here again. Angela, I hope you have a nice day but respectfully, please go work in an industry that does not require you to speak to costumers and put out a terrible image for such a great company.

Do NOT waste your time going to Apple for a broken phone if your apple care is expired! GO TO UBREAKIFIX.
I brought my iPhone 11 in to Apple as the screen suddenly went black. They told me there was no water or any damage made on my behalf and that the phone was faulty as there was an issue with the motherboard. Yet he insisted they could do nothing to help and that it'd be more expensive to fix than to buy a whole new phone (a blatant lie). I bought this phone outright just over 2 years ago and it has been in perfect condition and they tried to push me into spending another $1300. I brought it to UBREAKIFIX and they fixed it for $150 and managed to keep all my pictures/data on it.
Corporate greed and 0 customer care at its finest. Would leave 0 stars if I could.

Great mall but needs better work on educating it's customers to respect the place and clean up after themselves. Garbage all over the food court and teens over powering they place playing games trying nit to get kicked out by the mall guards. Washrooms were filthy with urine all over seats. Parents had to get the guards to kick teen couple out of the family rest rooms as it was the only space clean at the time for kids. Again nice mall but need better attention to food court area and washrooms.

Was working with Desiree she is extremely rude and attempted to humiliate me multiple times. Apparently an apple customer not willing to spend lots of money on simple services who is just asking for some help is unacceptable and I’m just “cheap”. Wow Apple finally showing it’s true colours. How dare an apple employee speak to me that way. I’ll be calling in a complaint to apple head office and also be taking my business to a company who respects their customers and doesn’t just see them all as walking $ signs to be discarded once they require some help. (For reference I’ve spent over 6500$ in the past 3 years on apple products, apparently that wasn’t enough).

If you have to shop apple please do so at Markville where I have at the very least not had a negative interaction… yet.

I had a very positive experience at this location. I was helped by Matthew, he was very knowledgeable and kind. I was able to have a phone battery replaced in under an hour. Remember to book an appointment online in advance if you need something fixed.

I Recently took my iPhone in for repair. The situation was promptly handled by knowledgeable-caring and patient staff. I was extremely impressed by how diligently the situation was handled. All of my questions were answered and my phone came back ‘perfect’ as if there was never a problem to begin with. All was rectified and fixed.

If you have a choice between pulling all your teeth out with dull pliers, or getting any kind of service at this Apple store, I highly suggest the former option.

Every time I've come to this apple store, I've received horrible service and condescending employees. To be fair, the women here I've dealt with have been pretty helpful and friendly. The men however, are a complete nightmare.

Our tech company (one of the largest consulting agencies in the world - yes this is important for later) have a employee purchase plan where we can get 5-10% off different apple items, but you can only buy it in store. We've taken advantage of this work perk before at numerous other locations, including Markville and Fairview. However, every time we try to bring this up to an employee here, we've had a horrible experience. The first time ever, they were confused but finally honoured it after they dug a bit for info.

Yesterday, however.was the worst experience I've had here and confirmed why I will not return to this location and rather drive out to Markham.we tried calling the store AND corporate, and they insisted we HAVE to come in to the location just to get the discount percentage and the price for an item. So we drove to this location as it is the closest one to us - and had to line up in a long queue.just to get a price.ok, sure. After waiting in the line, someone finally came up to us and when we explained the EPP and discount we had, this man laughed - YES, LAUGHED at us and said "hah, absolutely not. " That took us aback and we explained the company and situation further until he finally decided to search it up saying he's never heard of the company, and then proceed to say "Oh. This company DOES have an EPP". Did he think we were lying? After that, he told us that he can't get the price for us and we had to wait 1h for a 'specialist'. Just.to.get.a. PRICE. We weren't even sure if we wanted it for sure, just wanted to see the pricing. All this, just to get a price? Can anyone see how ridiculous this is? We just ended up calling the store again directly just outside of the mall and we ended up reaching someone who told us the discount and the helpful employee on the phone told us that "some of the other employees.yeah, I don't know. "

Really seems like some people are not trained, or just trying to gatekeep the discount even though we also have it via our company. This store has really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Wow. Avoid if possible! Second time in this store and same thing. To get charger they told me to book appointment in store. So I just get 2 new aprons 13 pro in YorkDale and forget to get fast charger. And in this place I need book appt for it. It’s impossible to spend $$$ in this place. Lol.
Some store mangers have no idea how to do good business and bring extra profit.

I got there and they told me they cannot do the exchange in store due to covid-19.why was i told to come in then? Regardless, they offered to check the laptop so i took them up on that offer because i had already driven all the way there. They told me they will run some tests, so i agreed. Told me all looked well so i came home to a COMPLETELY wiped laptop. He erased absolutely everything without communicating it to me, without asking if i had a backup (which i dont). I am now a student with 0 access to all of my work that i need. If it was communicated to me that i might lose even 1% of my work then i would have declined.now i have NONE of my data left, i cannot express how upset i am.

Saw online that there was an iPhone 13 pro max available at the store so rushed over there on a 45 minute drive

Upon reaching, even though the store was not busy and there was no line up, was told that the phone could not be purchased without an appointment. Even though we were ready to pay and have a quick transaction.

Asked if we can purchase online and then pick it up right away - he guy named "Chris" said it would have to be picked up the next day.

Even though the place was not busy and there was no lineup.

The employees didn't even try. It was upsetting and probably the worst customer service experience, even as a business owner, that I've had.

Will absolutely not recommend this store.

I was supposed to go there and pick up my order at 7: 45 pm and then it turns out due to high volume it might take 40 more minutes which was no big deal for me! It was 8: 55 pm and 5 mins later store closes and I was like Hellooo; then what is the point of booking an appointment? ! But hopefully there was a lady who I regret didn’t ask for her name, helped me to repurchase the item and then I’ll get refunded for the online order.

Lots of MacBook Pro has been recalled for battery swollen, and min was not in the list!
Now I have to pay to get the damn thing repaired for the manufacturer failure!
And as a response, they say it can happen to any device!
Noooo I don’t agree! This is apple we pay way more expensive for! And I have not heard any other brand having same problem!
If someone would have told me from the beginning, would I have bought this many products? !? !

This location is very organized and the staff are mostly friendly and knowledgeable.they're a lot more like the apple stores before they really took off.the staff are honest and sadly that's becoming a less common trait among salespeople.

I called upper Canada Apple store for a quote on a cracked screen, the back of my iphone 12 pro was broken even though i spent $70 on an otterbox case. But that’s obviously not their fault but
I simply just wanted to get a quote on a replacement screen, the guy i was speaking to kept asking me all these pointless questions like my address, name, email and serial number.which i would not provide cause its not necessary. All he needed was the model of my phone which I told me
i just wanted a rough estimate so i can call other 3rd party who provides services on broken screens and compare prices.he would not give me the rough price which was super frustrating.i was on the phone with him for 30 mins when i thought it would be a 2 min conversation.all i wanted was a approximate price and it seemed like i was asking for too much! Worst customer service lol when people call for a quote provide them the price stop asking them personal information please.

I placed an express pickup order. My purchases were ready to be picked up 10 minutes after I placed the order despite the later reserved time slot. When the employees came down, my items were packaged nicely and they were super friendly. Every time I’ve called this location as well they’ve been extremely helpful & professional

Went to pick up my purchases today. Though i was mad this was the closest location to me from barrie, i got there and i Didnt know how to get to door 3 which was the pickup location. Called the store and this guy was on phone with me explaining patiently with directions. I was later attended to by roman who was very kind as well, Such an amazing experience.

The staff were friendly but lacked the time to explain anything. When I asked what the point of AppleCare was if I'm paying $65 for the AppleCare and a $90 service fee anytime I open a claim, they couldn't give me any information. Buying AppleCare seems redundant if you need to pay almost full price to open claims on a watch.

This apple store and Markville apple store are the best around. Wonderful customer service and the employees actually appear to like their job. I drive all the way from Markham sometimes to this apple store just because I love the uplifting atmosphere.

Waited almost half an hour for one cash to open up. I was the second person in line for half an hour. This is the slowest service ever, probably because the store uses apple products to pay, and only a few sales people in the store have them. On top of this the software they use for payments can barely run on their own devices. What a joke

This store replaced my iPhone 6s Plus battery two weeks ago and now it doesn’t not work at all. The battery will drain from 100% to 0% in 8 hours without touching it. This is after resetting, wiping setting up as new phone recovering it from iTunes. They now claim their is something wrong with the pin of the charger and they want 480+ to fix it. Stay away from this store I do not recommend this store at all. I’m 100% sure the battery they put in it or they messed something up when they put it back together. My phone was fine before this all happened although my previous battery was 75%.

2012 Macbook Pro retina 15". Screen ghosting, no warranty/recall. Logic board died within 1 year. No warranty. Battery corroded to dangerous state. I had to order the parts (LCD - Samsung, the battery, logic board, few more) from China and do the repairs myself. Buy a new one was not an option. It still works, but it runs Kali Linux now. I use Kali exclusively and I was treated with no respect and being taught how to use a computer 101. The Toys R Us for professional users.

My iphone 8 plus was acting very strange past couple of weeks, finally decided to swing by Apple located at the upper canada mall. Once I arrived first thing in the morning i wasnt sure if i would get help because i realized everything is appt based. Luckily I bumped into an associate that worked there. I believe her name was Belen. Anyways She was able to squeeze some time in for me and help me out, Next thing you know the problems were addressed and I was able to get a new phone for no cost because of the warranty i had with the phone. Great Location, Will for sure be back at this location for future purchases (HUGE APPLE FAN) Cheers!

My wife was interested in an iwatch so she asked the sales staff for pricing, she was told $969.00 for the one she was wearing, she wasn't told a price range at all just the one price. She said thank you and left. Prices on the items on display would have helped as she found out at another store there was other models

Worst staff from any apple store. I run two small business’s and have used other apple stores; even non-apple stores. The staff at this one i found lie about service details and don’t care when they get caught in their own mistake. They give the response “this is how it is now”. I don’t recommend this store, i think your better off to go elsewhere.

I sure hope that this store is an anomaly with other Apple Stores (so far in my experience it is), they seem to train their employees to be skeptical of problems/issues and even the people bringing their problems in. Rather, they seem to default to sending them home after telling them to do a software reset. Resets don’t solve everything. It may be the first step, but the way they deliver it is quite silly and a bad way to do customer service.

They don’t communicate properly and seem to like wasting everyone’s time.

While waiting, I overheard at least 3 stories of repeat appointments and high customer frustration, common complaints is about how they have to come here again. And they force customers to make decisions on forcing paid “replacements” now or come back again to prove its a defect with their products.

In my case, he didn’t read the discussion I had already had with Apple over the phone, and told me to reset everything.: -/
I was like, what? I waited for an appointment and drove all the way here so that you can tell me to reset it? They could have told me that on the phone, but they told me to come in for a repair or swap!

Apple reset the passcode on a phone that I have so I was not able to get into the phone, I showed up to ask what they could do since the passcode changed itself. I wish I got the name of the lasy who was checking in appointments because she was so rude like i mean down right rude. She was an old short chubby lady with glasses and im disgusted shes even employeed here. Basically apple told me that the passcode is my fault it doesnt reset and to basically pound salt. Had no care that im paying a phone off that wont even let me into it and she told me well sorry nothing we can do! Really disguted by apple i dont even want to buy another product from them, this is a joke of a company.

On Saturday August 11th I had an appointment at the "Genius Bar" to pay for a replacement for my iPhone 7 plus 128Gig for physical Damage. I just wanted to pay the $129.99 fee get my replacement iPhone under apple care and leave. I was told that I did not have apple care, even though I knew I was paying monthly for it threw Telus communications. The Rep told me I was not covered for physical or accidental damage even though I knew this wasn't the case. I spoke with a manager who then said the exact same thing, and told me it was Telus' fault. They sent me down to the Telus store in the Upper Canada Mall, I walked down to the Telus store in the New Market mall and they printed off a service agreement showing I did have apple care, they gave me the contract stating I was covered for physical and liquid damage for a $129.99 replacement fee, serial number was indicated on this contract. I walked back up to the apple store showed them this piece of paper and went to apples online coverage tool typed in my serial # and it said I was covered also. Apple still proceeded to tell me their was a glitch and it was the wrong type of apple care, which I knew wasn't the case. Back down to the Telus store I went, after apple specifically the manager at the store told me it wasn't their problem and it was Telus'. 2 hours later Telus did their due diligence got in contact with some apple people and they told the Telus team that it was a glitch on apples end and they would correct it right away. Back up to the apple store I went and finally got my replacement after being in the mall back and fourth for 3 hours. Very unprofessional management not willing to go the extra mile, they would rather not deal with an issue and proceeded to tell me its my issue and I have to get it fixed. I have had the following apple products over my life time: iPod Classic, iPod nano, iPod Shuffle, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6,2012 MacBook Pro, Another 2012 MacBook Pro, iPhone 6 plus, 2016 MacBook, iPhone 7, Currently iPhone 7 plus and a 2015 MacBook Air. I have been a huge advocate for apple and their customer service. The experience in this store has almost made me reconsider purchasing an apple product ever again. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I was still charged the replacement fee after all of this, The least they could have done for retention purposes was split the fee with me or do something, nothing was done and no apology for the inconvenience that took place.

Store seems constantly understaffed, specially during the weekend. However once they acknowledge your existence the service is attentive and efficient. Had a few encounters with the Genius Bar staff there and had to say they won’t bother going above and beyond to support their product. I had better luck contacting Apple support over the phone vs going into this store.

Had an appointment at this location. I showed up to on time and was asked to sit and wait. 2 hours passed no one helped me. When I go up and asked about my problem I was told I hadn’t signed in and would have to wait.
As you can see young women are treated with respect. Anybody else can wait until all the pretty girls are served. That I why te only good reviews are from young women.
I watched a Apple tech try to sell an 80+ year old woman a IPhone X She just wanted the phone she had repaired. This idiot woman from apple kept saying about the facial recognition the new processor. The lady just wanted to make phone calls in an emergency.
If someone is nice. You may tell the next 10 people about it. If someone is crappie. You will tell the next 100 people about it. The millennials that work here haven’t learned this lesson

Even if this place is under construction, the mall still looks pretty good. I would like to see more appliances, specially after Sears' bankruptcy.

I went in and sat at the bar until someone eventually asked me what I needed. I made an appointment and came back when they texted me. They then texted me that they are ready now, then they texted me that I wasn't there and skipped me. I had to go find someone and their solution was to put me back at the bottom of the queue again. Then I sat and waited half an hour. They didn't even have a charging cable for my iPad in the store, I had to borrow an employees. Then the guy came and plugged my iPad into his laptop, pushed the restore button, it didn't work, done. Thats it, they can't even for their own products. They literally do not even have better tools than I have at home. The solution was to buy a replacement iPad 2 for $300. Why the hell would I give Apple anymore money!? The Apple store is like some dark timeline you would show Steve Jobs of how his ideas and products could turn into a corporate pile of garbage. Ridiculous. 0 stars.

Absolutely atrocious service. Never again crapple.
Slowest service ever. Battery swap that should take 15 minutes tops takes 2 days and they dfu restored the device. Employees all seem to be on suicide watch.

I had to drive pretty far to go to this store due to an error that Apple Support made, and the store could not even help me. Now the store has left me with a phone I cannot use without paying lots of money, and since my software issues were not even addressed at the store, I'm left having to buy a whole new phone. Apple is going to lose a lot of customers if they treat them this way.
