Appletree Medical Centre

At 55 years old I have yet to go to a medical facility and not had to wait. As a walkin clinic I EXPECT to wait even longer. I am not sure where all these other people go where they get fast service however I wish they would share the locations.
I have been here several times to see Dr Mayouri and she is the best. So attentive and understanding. Immediately, refers me if necessary and extremely organized.
You can have tests done in the building on the same day.
There is always somewhere to park since they have underground parking.
I am quite pleased with my experience.

The worst service I have ever experienced. I had virtual appointment, informed me to wait as they running late. I waited more than 1 hr and doctor cancelled appointment with reason that no visit in last two years… waste of your time

Absolute worst doctor ever. Do not book with dr. Mayoori Thinakaran. I have been requesting a fax for a referral for over a month, but in the end she never made it. The doctors confirm specialist appointments but will never send the referral even after you call. Even going in person there’s no answer. Never go here. I wasted a month of phone calls and waiting for nothing because they are incompetent. You would think a doctors office is smart

Even after booking an appointment for 3 pm I was waiting in the room for 40 minutes. What’s the use of booking an appointment. Extremely disappointed I just needed to get my reading done.

Every time I book a short appointment I have to plan on waiting at least 2 hours before I see my Doctor. Don’t book an appointment unless you can take the entire day off work. Even virtually, the wait will be well over an hour regardless of how far in advance you book your appointment. The same Doctor you book with will also be taking walk in patients, so it’s anyone’s guess how long you will be waiting.

I wish I could give negative review for this place. Not professional at all. Waited 2.5 hours inspite of having an appointment still didn’t get to see doctor.

Horrible.
I had an appointment for 1120am…sat in wait room until 1150am…then they had me sit in a separate room …the nurse took my blood pressure and I remained in the room for over 45mins just sitting there like I was a forgotten piece of clothes at the lost and found.
Nobody even came by and at 1230 I finally had to flag down a nurse who said “the doctor was with someone” next time I’ll order Uber eats and have them deliver to my room.maybe I’ll get sone attention.
It’s now 1237pm …. Still waiting ….

One of the worst clinics. Receptionist was polite but she was too busy as she had to handle all work by herself. Went for test and never even checked for a follow up. When i tried to book a follow up appointment it was all booked and gave me a later date which is even more late to get the reading. Call handler had no idea what the test was as they should be having a little knowledge whatsover on how its done. Had to go to another clinic to get it done and guess their prices were lower too and service was great.

Says it’s open on weekends and it isn’t. Doors were locked. Lights were off. What a waste of time.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. So many issues with this clinic whenever I try to book an appointment, or when I see a doctor. I don't know how many receptionists work there, but there is a specific one who acts as if they can't hear me and always hangs up on me when I try to book an appointment. I called 3 times today; the first time, she apparently couldn't hear me through hung up. I thought maybe my phone was acting weird. 2nd call, same woman answered and put me on hold for 8 minutes then hung up. The 3rd call was the exact same as the 1st. I had my brother use his phone and he had the same exact encounter as the first. I do not know what is going on, but I don't think anyone should tolerate anything like this.

I'd give them 0 if I could. They have virtual appointments and book appointments with patients but never call the patients. It's been multiple times that I had a booked appointment waited hours and the doctor never called me. What a waste of our valuable time. They are taking payments by swapping the cards. But never actually calling the patients. The customer service is also absolutely unhelpful

This is the reason why I stopped coming to Applebee's Medical Centers. I have been waiting about 2hrs and they haven't called out my name. They were calling people before me when I was waiting before them. I wish i didn't give the stars the horrible.

The wait time even after getting your appointment prior is unusual. Then comes the wait time after they actually end up calling you. Been waiting for more than an hour now. It has always been this way since my first visit. If this is due to understaffing or more patients then the management has to fix this issue! @appletree

Thank you the ignorant receptionist’ who left me waiting on hold for 10 mins then hangs up the phone then I call back and being told if I don’t give the expiration dates on my oHip Which IM CANADIAN BORN ‘ SO I HUNG UP BECAUSE UR NOT THE ONLY PLACE IN TORONTO And at that I wouldn’t HAVE SEEN THAT U GUYS HAVE ONLY 2.0 ratings so NoOoo Mohammed punjabbi will NOT BE OPERATING ON MY BACk! Worst at managing appointments and walk-in patients. I accept you take walk-ins but should also honour the people’s time that take time to come in book appointments beforehand and be present on time for the appointment too.

Still I got delayed 40mins from my appointment time. I think it’s better to come walk-in instead of booking appointments here. They get to go easily

The wait time is always longer than your actual appointment. Give yourself 45 to 60 min waiting period.

Young receptionist was very rude. Atleast she doesn't have manners talk to the sick people. She is very arrogant.

Came in as walk in wait time was 1 hour. But I have been waiting for 4 hours. Not impressed.

I submitted a formal complaint regarding this clinic to the Appletree Medical support team. My complaint was apparently sent to the Medical Affairs team and would let me know their response. To date, I have waited two months since my initial complaint to hear back from their team. They do not take patient care seriously. I am a healthcare worker myself, I submitted the complaint to advocate for better patient care, and so I am disappointed with how my complaint was handled. Do not go to this clinic.

Dr. Thinakaran Mayoori is so unprofessional, my partner saw her few days back and the doc asked her to walk in anytime once the reports are in. We live far from the clinic, when walked in the doctor was available she just had to see the report and prescribe the medication as the previous medication is coming to an end and there’s no improvement. She refused to see my partner moreover there were no patients waiting in the clinic and it was empty and also we pay put of pocket for the doctor’s visit every time & she only asked we can walk in anytime. They don’t respect anyone’s time doesn’t matter what you’re going through. Never would visit any apple tree medical for anything in my lifetime and won’t let visit my known ones as well.

I waited more than 40min without seeing no one, why take appointments when you won't be available?

I was referred to an allergist but I never received a call from them so I called the clinic and I found out that they never received the referral from appletree and that’s why they didn’t contact me for an appointment. I have been waiting for them to call me for a month now. I am glad that I called and I found out otherwise I would have waited for my appointment forever. I expected better from appletree.

Not a good place for a walk-in urgent care, I’ve been there today I checked in at 10: 45 am and it was 1: 30 and I didn’t see anybody so I left,

Do not come to see the doctors here. This is very disorganized clinic. The medical assistant are very rude and unprofessional. Any time I am referred to a specialist, the referral is not sent through. I went to get answers when the referral will be sent to the specialist, the medical assistant told me to call the doctor. I called the clinic, they said they will follow up with the doctor. 20 days after 3 follow ups the referral was not sent yet.
Poor management, they don’t read these reviews, and they don’t care to respond to reviewers.
No wonder why the reviews are with 1 star. I would give them zero

Why is it impossible to speak to someone at the office? Someone told me to call back to provide a pharmacy name for my daughter's prescription and I can't reach anyone!

I took an employee there on Friday, April 15th, 2022. He was refused to be seen by both doctors on duty because the laceration requires stitches.
How pathetic this is. Such a waste of taxpayer money on the doctors practicing here.
This is worse than a Third World country.

I wish I could give negative stars to their service and staff. Every time I have to wait for more than an hour, sometimes even 2 hours. Doesn’t matter if you have an appointment or walk in. Every doctor just rush you out. They never listen to the person properly. Never coming back to this horrible clinic. Every single time in here was a horrible experience.

Do not book a rapid test here.

We booked our appointments weeks in advance and confirmed the appointment online also, we showed up for our rapid tests for our upcoming flight and the clinic was closed and locked! No phone call or email to cancel our appointment. We tried to call and automated message said they are closed. Even though we confirmed the clinic hours and appointment time weeks prior!

We had to scramble and find a clinic that accepted walk ins so we were able to continue with our travel plans.

If you actually want to receive a rapid test, never book here!

My wife had the worst ever PAP test at AppleTree. They took the sample and said the results will be ready within 4 weeks and someone will call us to manage sending the results to our family doctor. We didn’t hear anything after 6 weeks and we had to create a portal account to see the results. However, we realized that the sample was canceled 1 day after they took it, without notifying us of retaking the test. Called them several time, stayed hours on the line and ultimately they said we need to book an appointment with their doctor so that she tell us what happened. I don’t recommend this lab for anyone planning to take PAP test. They are not responsive and pay zero attention and care to their patients.

Just reconsider your options, go somewhere else to be listened too and treated as a human being, rather being ignored and uncared for. If I ever come back I know I wouldn’t live another day.

I had a virtual (phone) appointment for 4pm yesterday evening with Dr. Gopy Arumugam. I waited by my phone for 5 hours and he never called me.
After 2 and a half hours of waiting, I tried to call to helpline but they were closed for the day. I tried to book with another Doctor, but there were no more appointments for the day.
After filing a complaint by email, I received a response this morning that the Doctor said I was a no show! I have no missed calls and waited by my phone attentively while in pain for hours.
The clinic absolved themselves of responsibility- stating they contract out Doctors.
There need to be repercussions for their Doctors not attending appointments then lying about it!
So avoid this service - especially if you're in pain or have an urgent medical issue.

I have been visiting this clinic since 2016. Except a few times, I have very good experience about this clinic. Obviously, that exception are due to high number of patient flow before the pandemic. Most of the time I visit here, I feel so happy that I was served in a very professional manner by all the staffs including the doctors. That is the reason I have requested a MD to be our family doctor. During pandemic, this clinic is helping patients based on the public health measures and guidelines of city and the province. I love this place, thank you all who made this place memorable.

Tried to book a virtual appointment with Appletree Medical and the doctor canceled on me because he doesn't deal with the condition I was referring to. Family doctors are supposed to be GENERAL practitioners- meaning they're the primary person we see before we get to see anyone else. They are the bottleneck and all issues we have are supposed to go through them first. If they just start choosing some conditions to treat and not others, what happens to all the people with conditions that don't make the list? How is anyone supposed to get to the next line of care (ie.a specialist) if they can't get a hold of a family doctor first? I thought healthcare was about trying to help people and do what's best for the patient, NOT what's most convenient for the doctor. Will NEVER see or recommend Appletree to anyone.

The waiting will be longer than expected for sure. But without sconsidering that my doctor is very caring and knowledgeable.

Best Walk-in Medical Centre in the world. Very little wait time. Excellent doctors and referral doctors. Excellent nursing staff. Answer all your questions. Very supportive. Onsite blood, urine and EKG testing labs. Xray and Ultrasound labs. Pharmacy on site. My Family Doctor relocated to Appletree for all the benefits. Don't believe all the negative views. So many people believe they should be waited on hand and foot.

If you don't like the facility and staff and services then find your own personal family doctor and see if you get better service and how many places you have to go to for all your testing services and to see a specialist.

And free parking!

Dr.gnanaraj shanmugarajah is the worst. Doesn’t care about patients, very condescending and rude. I would give a 0 star if I could.

I had phone appointment with dr gananraj at 12: 44pm. But nvr got call back from him for whole day. I called clinic and asked them whats going on. They said he will call me shortly but I didn’t got any call from him

I am so sad because I still didn’t get the my x-ray results from this clinic after two weeks and I feeling not okay for my nose, I can’t sleep well because one side nose can’t breath. Also I call the clinic to ask the results they told me they didn’t find my results.

I had very bad experience from them. I did a test from a lab and i waited for the result from apple tree doctor. I am calling from moring to noon now. No one answered. Its better to die than go to them

First time at the clinic for a vaccination and I was in and out in half an hour. I did make an appointment rather than walking-in, so 30 minutes is decently good. Making an appointment was kind of difficult because the website has a few bugs and inaccurate info. E.g. Some of the doctors are listed wrong (don't actually work at the location on that day). Staff was nice!

Wish you could rate negative. This place needs to be reported and shut down for it's fraudulent visade as being a place that provides healthcare. I had an appointment this morning, very important. Doctor simply never called. I guess you can graduate medical school but not figure out how to tell time? I tried to call the clinic twice, and the phone kept ringing but no answer. Do not even waste your time trying. Put in the extra time and effort, and find a doctor who will actually see you.

Do not go to Appletree centers unless it’s for a very minor and temporary issue. You won’t get a diagnosis or treatment for anything that involves more than one symptom, because they only allow mentioning one symptom per appointment. The body is a whole, and often illnesses have several symptoms from different systems in the body. Also, the receptionist is the first one that starts you off on the wrong foot- she gave me a headache arguing so negatively.

My first experience here since my doctor moved here and it was terrible.waste of time talking to those that answer the phone.not helpful at all.actually they're useless.place doesn't have that family practice feel where even the receptionist knew you and cared.you're just a number here and they don't care.

Went for ultrasound. When I first walked in I had to fill in a covid form. I asked the receptionist if she cleaned the pen I have to use. She said with a bad attitude "I don't
have time for that" everywhere el

Then I was called for my appointment, got undressed and was lying on the bed ready for ultra sound. Then I was told to get off the bed because patient that was late was before me. At this point my bladder was ready to burst. So I sat in the changing room in discust.

Every time I have went into this medical centre to get diagnosed for sicknesses, the doctors have not been able to give me any answers. One time I went in asking a doctor to help me with an allergy test, and she told me she "didn't know what I had and didn't know what to do. " I have gotten no help from this facility, and the one time that I was given appropriate meds for my sickness they never gave me instructions on how to take them which I think would be important given I had never had this sickness before. They handed me pills and basically wrote me off. The doctors here don't take anyone from the general public seriously and frankly I have never heard one piece of medical advice since I first started coming here. There are many other family doctors and institutions in Scarborough and Toronto where you could get genuine health advice, with way better service. Do not recommend at all.

Waste of time

My mother had a virtual doctor appointment on Friday, November 13,2020. She needed a medical note and which we paid through a credit card. However, in addition to the medical letter, customer service also charged my credit card for the "Uninsured Patient - Intermediate Assessment Covid-19", which we did not do. I immediately contacted customer service and informed them regarding this error. Customer service issued us a refund letter noting the refund amount via email.

When I checked my credit card statement recently, I was charged the original amount to our credit card and have not received a refund yet. Saturday, December 5,2020.

I contacted the customer service and did not receive a proper response regarding my enquiry. I even provided them with the reference number of the refund receipt letter sent to me via email by Appletree.

Please make sure to issue my refund at the earliest.

With the covid 19 pandemic, i am very skeptical about coming to the clinic. Due to personal reason, i had to see the doctor on Dec 8. Everyone was given a time slot, and there was no waiting patient in the clinic. The admin was very friendly and supportive, answered all my concern. She mentioned that all the chairs were santizied before each guest came in. The doctor was responsive. My experience was efficient and good. Would recommend for others.

This clinic is brutal! We have been accompanying our 87 year old mother to appointments here. The doctor was good but the wait times are long. Waited for 1.5 hrs to see the dr.for 10 minutes. Setting up virtual appointments is almost impossible. The administrative people here have no idea what they are doing! Still waiting to get results from tests sent to referring doctors. If you have the choice go somewhere else. There is no customer service at this clinic.

Had a virtual appointment with Dr. Shanmugarajah at 1: 25pm and still haven't received a call. It's 2: 18pm now and no one is answering the phone at the clinic.

I would have given them a 0 but thats the lowest i can give. Staff in customer service was very unprofessional and insensitive. It seemed like she didn't care about the patients and the people calling. I booked an appointment and she sent me to a clinic 2 hours away from my house, when I got there they told me she did not book anything for me. It was such a waste of time. I called them back to reschedule another but they never picked up and when they did, they always hung up. Really bad service, they wasted my time.

Worst clinic ever! I am doing Family practice here. But cannot get to see same doctor. So have to explain to every different doctor. They dont even check your chart. Its been 3 months I am suffering from gastric problems; they are not doing gastro referral even after my request. They treat you like a statue. The doctors calls are even after 2 hours the time supposed to be phone consult. They want you to die at their doors.
So, I ended up going to emerge and having a gastro referral from another walk in clinic.
Looking for new FP doctor soon.

The worst personnel service of AppleTree Medical Centre. Dr. Gerald Fung attended me and he was the most unhelpful and impatient Dr. I ever been to.

If i could have rated minus, i would have.
This so called medical centre is for if you want to die, then go to visit this place.
Dr. Pamela was absolutely delightful.ultrasound and xray was done on me.after one week i am still waiting for the results. Fortunately, i went to the emergency department and within two hours i have seen a doctor and the proper diagnostic was done.
This place should be closed down.
This place is fraudulently obtaining money from the Ontario health plan.
Patient care is non-existent.
Stay far away from visiting this place. If you don't care about living, only then you should go there.

I had the virtual appointment with doctor Amber Chang as virtual, today at 5.20pm. I asked to video call to talk to her. But she was late and she talked to me at 5.40 pm for only 3 min. She did not even ask me what my problem is, and did not check my medical records on Appletree files. I have been with Appletree for 4 years with Dr. Mathai. She just asked me: what do you need? She closed the call without saying anything and just directly emailed the prescription. She said I need to get abother appointment to get another prescrption. She did not even use video call for my appointment, even though I was asking for a video call. This is so disappointing and unpleasant.

The last time I was there was last week I had a booked appointment online and they dont care about the time they make me wait to see the doctor plus i waited like 20 more minutes to see the doctor today i I called to talk to the doctor and again they make me wait again listen people has their day in schedule it's not fair to make them wait and plus not any apology from the receptionist what a shame!

I have been trying to reach a doctor for a 98 year old woman. Doctor will not call me, keeps calling the patient. I want to arrange visiting home nurse. After several attempts, I learn from the patient's house mate, who the doctor has been speaking with, I need to send him the POA. No email or fax options were provided. The call centre is not helpful and frequently very rude! TERRIBLE! JUST TERRIBLE! Even a score of 1 is too high.

They made us wait for more than 3 hours, and it's really bad. They don't care at all! Came many times, all the times it's a really long wait, even though you have an appointment you have to wait for more than 1 hour just to see the doctor.

I had a pleasant experience. The wait was as advertised on their wait time. The medical assistant and Dr. Punungwe were both courteous, professional and treated me with respect. I would recommend to anyone going into a walk-in to check the wait time on their site to make sure the wait is "agreeable", and to go in with an open mind as the training and knowledge in medicine of a practicing physician is generally better than my own or most others.

I want to give it 0 starts for service, efficiency and time. The one star is for the doctor which I saw for hardly 5 minutes. I already knew what I wanted- a referral from the doctor to see the ophthalmologist. The receptionist/assistant didn’t know answer to our questions. I was ready to pay out of pocket since I’m visiting from the US yet it was so inconvenient for us. We waited for over an hour with hardly 3 patients in the waiting room. They even turned down seeing a family since it was their lunch time from 1-2: 30 and told them to come later. Poor lady, visibly upset, dragged her kids back. I found this unprofessional, since it was hardly 12. I just wanted a referral to see the eye doctor so I sat through the pain and it was one of the only clinics in Toronto that take patients without health card.

Been a patient here since 2015. I was in search of a family doctor and was recomened to give Dr. Thinakaran a try.

Dr. Thinakaran is an amazing doctor, very caring, thorough and passionate. She treats you like if you're one of her family members, and really shows care/concern for your health.

I've expereince bad vibes with one doctor that works there, and I will always continue to refuse to see him, and will always try my best to have an appointment booked with Dr. Thinakaran, or this one other doctor (I forgot her name) but I saw her one time on a weekend.

I gave only four stars because lately, they have been slacking. Before I was able to book an appointment and get seen right at my appointment time, but now it's like an hour and a half wait to get seen after your appointment time. But it's worth the wait for adequate care, you just have to have a lot of time set aside for the wait. They should offer free WIFI in order to have the time go by fast, but unfortunately they don't.

Takes good care of you. Great place. Staff is super friendly and nice, take the time to listen to patients and care for their needs. 10/10

BAD: There is literally no difference between walk in or emergency VS having an appointment here. Its takes as much time. People walking in after you would see a doctor before you. After having your name called so not think it's your turn, you still have to wait for 30mins inside before seeing the doctor. Expect 2 to 3 hrs of wait time and that is after you book an appointment. This place will RSA (RIP your schedule apart). Good luck
GOOD: Dr.raja is very good at diagnoses.

Went at 12. Was busy and they asked to come at 5pm. When reached, they said they are no longer taking any appointments!
