I have had two experiences at appletree with Dr. Vizel and they aren't trending upwards. This doctor is so afraid of getting sick that he can't effectively do his job. I knew my throat was infected before I went there and didn't need the genius prognosis from across the room. He touched my tongue with a depressor and threw a prescription at me. I'm glad it was a long wait, at least. I will be getting a second opinion, and if you want to take a risk on this so-called professional, be my guest.

Useless to book appointment when you keep on waiting for more than an hour. Please improve your waiting time and make some rational decisions to serve patients with a bit of sympathy

Worst experience for a walk in clinic in Toronto. Came at around 3: 15 PM, was told the wait for walk-in would be around 45 Mins to an hour. Waited until 4: 15 just be told to come back at 5 PM because they are busy due to appointments. Unbelievable waste of time. If the clinic is busy due to appointments, surely they could have known that in the beginning. My suggestion is to find another clinic.

I showed up at noon and a sign was posted that they weren't accepting anymore walk- ins. I was told to come back at 5. I was there at 4: 30 pm.first in line. I completed the survey on my phone immediately and registered at the computer. The computer froze as i selected "Done"! I let the nurse know and she said she would let the doc know that i should be first to be seen. I saw ar least 4 people get in ahead of me and the doctor also took a virtual call before me knowing that I was supposed to be next.
It doesn't pay to be first in line here!

UPDATE: After waiting for an hour, plus the half hour at the beginning to be first, I gave up and left! The nurse repeatedly had told me I was next, but in reality, I wasn't. She said that she did not know why and apologized. There was only one doctor. Dr. Shivgi.
Very poorly run and unprofessional.save yourself time and find a different place nearby.there are many on Lakeshore, and Royal York, and Bloor west Village.
I will never go back there!

My regular family dr retired so I started to see Dr Vizel. So far Dr Vizel has been very professional and I like how I can book an appointment online for the afternoon.

Website informed me it was a good time to go because it wasn’t busy. So I went there to get a tetanus shot and they were already closed. Receptionist informed me they don’t update the information online. The whole time the guy answered my questions (“Do you know where I could go for a shot” and stuff like that) like I was a nuisance. He told me he wasn’t on the clock anymore, and treated me like I was stupid or was supposed to know everything about the clinic - even though it was my first time there. I never ever leave bad reviews online but this experience made me feel so bad that I had to share it. Never going back there again.

I’ve been waiting here for about 1 hour. There is no staff and people are just lining up with no direction.

They need staff at the counter at all times.

Hopefully things will change down the road.

An appointment was made 3 days before, and on the day, i was there early hoping to get an earlier Pre-Departure test. With lights on in the clinic, no one was in it. Perhaps i was too early at 1030am. But my appointment was at 12pm, so i waited patient until 12pm. Still throughout the wait there was no one entering the clinic or preparing to attend to patients.

General hotline was all you can get from the clinic posters and when called, they couldnt do anything. If this was a franchisee clinic, then it's ruining the brand name. Either that, the reviews are on point with their service and quality of care. One word, horrible.

At the point of 12pm i waited 15mins extra just to be sure that someone will come. But even after dialing the hotline, they didnt know why they aren't open. Either someone's cutting slack, or the clinic has closed down. Canada should refrain such clinics to exist that provides such non-existent healthcare to its people.

Horribly disappointed of this establishment.

I needed to see a doctor in-person for an urgent matter this morning, and my regular family doctor was unavailable. This clinic opened the earliest, so I called three times to make sure they could see me, but was unable to talk to a real person. The automated phone line instructs you to check the wait times for the in-person walk in clinic and proceed to the clinic - it listed a ten minute wait time, so I went in. After driving to the clinic, paying for parking, and waiting at an unmanned check-in desk for fifteen minutes, a receptionist finally came in and informed me that there were no doctors in-person and that they were only operating telemedicine. Why would you operate an in-person walk in clinic with a desk, receptionist, and a kiosk where the only thing you can do is go in-person to make an appointment for a doctor to call you back? Horrible experience and a waste of my time and money.

I went there with a major anxiety, only to be told that a doctor was not there to do anything. The staff there was nice but not having a doctor in a walk-in clinic is not helpful at all for me when I urgently needed it. My phone broke that day so I couldn't call to check in advance. So if you are not in a unique situation like I was, CALL FIRST to make sure you don't waste your time.

Overall bad experience at this location, they don’t have anyone at the counter and even though there was this one person going back and forth and seeing that there were people who were lining up and waiting, this person didn’t even say anything or instructions about waiting. Not a single sign of courtesy at all. After 30 minutes of standing and waiting this person came and only to give us rude instructions about getting appointments virtually. They have only one doctor who sees patients on Mondays and under a very limited time sloth. The rest is taken care via online. I’m not coming back here at all. They’re short staffed I get it but there is absolutely no sense of client service at all.

Every time I try to use this as a walking clinic they turn me away. This is the third time I try and doubt I will be back. They have 6: 30pm as closing time and I just came at 5: 56 and they said they were closed.

Absolute garbage. Walked into a walk in clinic and they told me they had no available appointments and to come back at 2 PM. I had to double check online that it said walk in clinic, and it most definitely did. I would say that all of the bad reviews about this place are accurate.

Great experience start to finish. Booked an appointment at a different Appletree inadvertently but the receptionist changed the location for me even though fully booked. Very little wait considering I just showed up. Dr was prompt, courteous and on point diagnosis. Thank you!

I Wish I could give a Zero star rating for this Medical Centre.
Dr Kopaniak lack empathy towards patients and is very rude and arrogant.
Her computer crashes all the time [ atleast 3 times when i spoke to her] and has no access to reports.there is a communication gap between the Dr.and The Medical centre. Also Dr missed out writing the right requisition for the Xray clinic that needs me to make another round to the Xray clinic which could have been avoided if there was more professionalism shown by the Doctor.

Had a good experience here today on a Saturday. Was welcomed right in without an appointment and despite a busy day. Although i waited in the room for the Dr. For sometime Dr Brooks was apologetic, friendly, helpful and efficient. Was a good time

I was expecting a call from the doctor today and no one has contacted me. I’d been transferred to 3 different persons and the last person told me that the doctor will call after her lunch break. Now at 7pm the clinic is closed and still I haven’t heard from anyone. Not even one sincere apology. I need my lab test so that I can adjust my dose accordingly. Obviously my health is non of your concern.

“Lisa” the reception who works at ATR at 7: 20pm hung up on me.

I missed their call because the phone rang only twice. So I called. Literally just got disconnected or she hung up on me (a person who works on Aug 30 @4: 45pm) I wouldn’t know. I’m calling back and no one answer.
I had second thought with my appointment when I read all the reviews about this place, but I gave it a try. Apparently, they show that the bad reviews are true.

They are always late and unconcerned with their inability to meet their commitment on timing. I have been forced to make and unnecessary appointment which they set the time for and were over 1 and a half hours late. Terrible service.

We walked in with our 3-year old and were told that we have to now book an appointment virtually first or they wouldn’t take us. The virtual DR from another location told us that was unheard of and couldn’t understand why we were told to do this.

Several times we have looked up their hours or called, and when we arrive they have closed hours early.

Always inconsistent and a headache with this location.

Worst ever place! The doctor didn’t care and kept saying I don’t know. Suggested to goto pharmacy and ask for medication, without giving me any name for medication. Doctors name was Asma! She was extremely rude and didn’t even listen to me

I had a very good experience with all the staff of this clinic. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the two girls who attend at the reception too but they are professional, efficient and friendly (one of them made me the allergy test and was very good.). And my experience with Dr. Sahir Shivji was very good too. I can say in my personal opinion that Dr. Sahir is a professional doctor and very kind.

Dr. Kopaniak Marguerite is a very rude doctor and she doesn’t even care what’s going on with you! She asked me like this: “Why are you here? You need a blood test BUT NOT HERE! ”

It was my first time to this clinic and I came to see Dr. Kopaniak for two issues that were important to me. I feel like she “heard” what I said, but I wasn’t treated with the respect I would expect from a medical doctor. After a brief discussion I was told that I should wait (an indefinite amount of time) or book an another appointment for the next day to discuss an additional issue that would’ve taken literally two minutes to address. She made me feel like I was taking up too much of her time and that there were many other patients to see that were more important than me. If this is the case for this clinic they should understand this and make the appointments at least 30 minutes in length. I don’t even feel like I was given my 15 minute allotted time slot. In order to avoid going back to this clinic I went to another walk-in later that day and my appointment for that particular issue took less than five minutes. Dr. Kopaniak, I suggest that you try to improve your bedside manner and treat your patients how you would like to be treated if you were in their position. I’m sure you are a fine doctor but you did not prove that to me on this visit. I will not be coming back to see you again.

Called the office to verify the hours and how busy they were at the time. Secretary was useless and gave me attitude when asking these questions. She said they were open until 5pm, I arrived at 3pm, paid for parking, and to find out they are closed. Waste of time, waste of a drive and waste of money paying for parking.

I was seen by the training assistant Gagandeep who was very professional, personable and had excellent bed side manner.

In was hesitant about going to this office due to the reviews; however I was pleasantly surprised when Gagandeep assisted me with such a friendly demeanor and heard my concerns.

Dr Kopanik is truly a terrible doctor. You go into a doctors office in hopes of being cared and helped. She undoes all that. She has a very aggressive and condensing way of speaking to people. She does it with patients and even the front desk staff. I will never ever visit there again. Her inappropriate behavior gives the other good doctors a bad name. Absolutely unprofessional and useless.

The clinic is good but do not see Dr Kopaniak. I just got a lecture from her about how everything is paid by tax money and nothing is free even with OHIP coverage (after asking if flu shots are free). She kept going on and on about how she pays her tax, but seriously, everyone pays tax.it was so condescending!

Worst clinic ever. Worst service don’t waste your time. Their call centre is useless. I called to book an appointment they did not log it in. No one in the front to talk to. A person walked in with a coffee as a bribe and got in ahead of everyone. The staff avoids to be in the front so they do any work. Booking an appointment means nothing as you will wait for hours and anyone can take your turn as long they brought a coffee to the staff. What a joke

I came in almost 2 hours before closing and was turned away due their rooms being “full”. The check-in process is automated. There is also a laundry list of illnesses and issues posted that they reserve the right to turn away patients on the basis of which seems discriminatory. I did not feel that this was a place concerned with care.

Dr.shivji is an amazing doctor. I've had trouble in the past with my previous doctor and it took me a while to find another one. He answers all my question as best as he can and make my appointment as comfortable as possible.

The only thing is when you call the number they will send you to head quarters which is when i find it useless talking to them and they can have a bit of attitude. So you're best bet is to do walk in appointments. If needed.

Dr. Shivji has been great. He is patient and very knowledgeable. However, Appletree Medical Group seems to be very unorganized.

They are terrible when you need to reach your doctor. When you call, it takes forever to actually speak to someone. And when you do, they rarely know how to help you. And if you need to ask your Doctor a quick question, they tell you to book an appointment.

There was one time that Appletree lost my blood work, and for 2 months no one could officially tell me what happened. They kept saying, "it's not ready, they're still working on it". I finally called around and found out it was lost 6 weeks prior.

Wouldn't recommend Appletree if you're looking for a family Doctor.

We went with our 2.5 year old daughter this evening (quite concerned about her symptoms), as the posted hours indicated they were open until 7pm. We showed up at 6: 45 and the doors were already locked. There was a woman there as we knocked on the door, but she seemed to ignore us completely as she proceeded to close up. I finally went into the pharmacy next door and they were open as indicated. The lovely pharmacist there went to check for us and reported that the doctor (who was posted as being there until 7pm on the whiteboard visible from the door) had left the clinic at 6: 45. I find this appalling. If families are relying on medical care, physicians should not be able to leave before the indicated time - especially without putting up some sort of sign indicating their early departure. The woman should also have had the courtesy of coming to the door to inform us. When I tried calling, of course the message indicated that they were there to answer phones until 8pm. This is disgraceful, as I'm sure it is possible to change the outgoing message. I will definitely not recommend this clinic, nor will I go again.

Walked in found nobody waiting, thinking this will be a short wait. 1hr+ later finally got to "SEE" the doc (just for 5min). Over Skype vid conf. How can a doc properly diagnosis any illness over Skype? Especially over connection so bad that audio and video quality is just a blur. They care less about the patient health, more about volume biz and get paid.

I wish I could rate it negative. For 1 patient the wait is 1 hour as the doctors are busy on phones. Don't know why they are on the phone when they should be attending to patients. First I went for stomach pain and the doctor said there is no medicine just rest. Second time went for pain on left hand and I was examined and doctor said she is not sure what is wrong and I was asked to get an ultrasound and xray done. Went back after couple of days and was made to wait for an hour and there was no patient before me. Please avoid this clinic

Do NOT recommend this clinic at 2077 Lakeshore Blvd. West at all! Had to give it a one star rating in order to leave my review - but begrudge having to give it any star rating at all.

Have had a number of really frustrating experiences with them for my elderly mother. Most recently trying to get an appointment with a psychologist recommended by the senior's building my mother lives in. Took 5 weeks to even get a faxed referral confirmed, numerous calls, follow-ups and even an in-person visit to finally get an appointment.

You cannot call the clinic directly, you must go through a very incompetent main call centre number who have no clue what they are doing. Finally got an appointment weeks later Jan. 31/19, attended and the psychologist recommended no longer than one month between appointments and yet when we booked right after seeing him, could not get another appointment until 5 weeks later on Thurs, Mar. 7/19.

Two days prior to that appointment on Mar. 5/19, got a call the Mar. 7/19 appointment was cancelled as that psychologist no longer came to their location on Thursdays. I asked why would you not fulfill already booked appointments before allowing that change? No response. Would I like another appointment, the earliest now is Apr. 27/19? - almost 3 months after the first appointment. Was not happy, asked who I could complain to and go figure - you can only complain by email: (. I did take the Apr. 27/19 appointment as my Mom is in dire need of mental health support, has major mobility issues and this clinic is located in her building.

Now today, Apr. 22/19, five days before the 2nd appointment, 3 months after the 1st appointment - the clinic called to say that psychologist has closed his practice due to personal reasons and my mother has to come back in to get another referral. I asked why on earth would she have to do that just to get another referral within your clinic? Their response, because she'd already seen the psychologist, they must have a new referral. Had she not seen him, they could have referred her to another psychologist. I told them to forget it, that we won't be using their clinic again and that they already have quite a bad reputation in the area which appears to be well earned.

Steer clear of this place - it is a nightmare to deal with: (.

I am extremely disappointed and shocked at how unprofessional and condescending Dr. Kopniak was towards me. For both appointments, she did not take my condition seriously and instead replied back "I don't know what to say", "it's just you" while smirking and quickly leaving the room to talk to her co-workers. I had to step out into the hallway to finish asking her questions to better understand my health issues. She then said "I deal with this issue with a lot of woman everyday" before reluctantly walking back into the room with me. I then tried to explain to her my medical history to see if it helped with identifying other possible causal factors. She shook her head in the middle of my story saying it had nothing to do with my health issue, completely dismissing the timeline of my symptoms and the reason why I was so concerned with these symptoms. Then she complained about how this was the second time I asked to get swabbed. Since when does a doctor complain about a patient wanting to be tested, regardless of the number of times, especially if the issue is known to reoccur often? And when I told her that I wanted to get swabbed again because I was still experiencing symptoms, she did not offer to do the procedure again and just referred to my old test results and it being negative. But there are health conditions that take x amount of time for them to be detectable. Afterwards, I went to the pharmacy next door and the pharmacist ended up being 1000000x more helpful when I asked him about my symptoms. He even took the time to research about my condition and treatments.

I truly hope that this clinic looks into the conduct of Dr. Kopniak and considers the feedback from all of her dissatisfied patients.

Just came back from the appointment I had scheduled a week ago in advance, 5 minutes into the consultation and Dr. Kopaniak said she needed to be somewhere else. Not the first time she treats me or my wife with little to no empathy. Both of us have been seeing her (reluctantly due to her attitude) for the past 2 years (she's our family doctor) and every time we go, she is very condescending and undermining, treats patients like numbers in a chart instead of human beings.
I have been treated by other practitioners with so much care and compassion that I am always surprised with the way Dr. Kopaniak treats patients.
