Friendly service and friendly staffs, but the staffs are wasting their time on talking and gossiping. They don't pay attention on how many patients are waiting. A lady told me she would text me or call me, I waited 4: 30 hours and she never texted me or call my name. I was really sick, bleeding on my Sigmoid colon, I was so weak, pain, hungry and thirsty. They called the patients who were arrived behind me. I was left alone with 3 men who arrived around 4 p.m. At 4: 30 pm I asked them why did they leave me alone, your guy are called patients who arrived behind me? A lady told me I almost going to call your name. So they brought me into a room at 4: 30 p.m. And let me wait another 1 hour and 25 minutes to see a doctor. I was in tears and almost cry out. They may be racist or judge someone based on their appearance.
Dr. Kaushik is simply the best. I have seen him over the last 10 years for a variety of health issues and I always walked out of the clinic feeling better. He never rushes through the session and takes genuine interest in your well-being.
Yes, the wait time can be horrifically long (3-6 hours) but I'm sure it's not much better at other walk-in clinics. The assistants there also seem very well trained and efficient at what they do. I'm extremely grateful for all the treatments I've received from Dr. Kaushik and his staffs.
I showed up at 8AM (1hour before the opening of the clinic) and waited for 1h in the line. Once at the counter they said that they reached the maximum capacity.
Yes, it’s a long wait, which is why I gave only 4 stars, but the service from everyone I met was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Dr Kaushik is very impressive - personable, caring and holistic in his approach. You can possibly reduce the wait for the walk-in clinic by arriving later in the day rather than joining the long line when they open… but I haven’t tested my hypothesis!
Saw Dr. Kaushik for the second time in 5 years and he is still a fantastic practitioner. Always takes the time to understand and explain our issues carefully, despite the huge lineup of people behind us.
Plus a great sense of humour!
As others have said, come well before registration starts: there will be a long line already by that time.
I’d give Dr. Kaushik 10 stars if I could. Unlike most walk-in clinic doctors he doesn’t rush and seems to genuinely care. Wait times are long, arrive early and just come back when they text you.
The staff are doing their best under challenging circumstances, and I don’t blame them at all, however attending this clinic (and many others in the city) makes you realize how broken our healthcare system is.
My advice: check their website the night before/morning of for the wait-time tool and hours (maps hours are NOT accurate/up to date) and arrive as early as possible (aim for 1-1.5 hours before they open) in order to register before it fills up.
When I was there on Tuesday morning, they were filled by 10 AM. Even if you do arrive before they open, prepare to wait at least 1-4 hours.
You have to line up early and wait for a few hours (would recommend getting there about an hour before the registration begins at 8: 30am) but I found the doctor and staff there to be very friendly and personable!
The clinic supposed to open 9: 30am on Saturdays, no staffs from Appletree showed up for work. A lot of people were waiting outside for it to open. After an hour of waiting I gave up and went to another walk-in clinic that respects its patients.
I'm here sat July 16th 10: 28 am. The clinic is closed. Only in person does the sign say they're only open bi weekly on Saturdays. So if you wanna go on a Saturday count how many have happened since my post. Ridiculous.
Terrible service. Multi-hour to several-hour waits. No respect for appointment times - you will be seen hours after a scheduled appointment. No compassion here. Waited 7 hours and ultimately refused service all together because the doctor "doesn't sign paperwork for school" even though the check-in computer provided that as an option. Never got to see the doctor.
How many years will this location be receiving displeasing reviews before Apple-tree steps in and fixes this place up?
I’ve been here several times and Dr. Kaushik is the only reason I’ve chosen to come here, Dr. Kaushik is so professional and patient, a very knowledgeable doctor. However the staff is the worst, unprofessional, rude, impatient and lack of management skills. I had my vaccination appointment booked two months ago, when I came to my appointment they just told me they don’t have the vaccines and have no idea when it’s going to be in stock. The wait time is so long and appointments are so hard to book, even with the appointment booked, you may still get nothing. So I came to my appointment and just been told there’s no vaccine with no apology. The manager’s attitude was like “take it or leave it”, it’s so ridiculous, at least I could have been contacted a little bit earlier that there’s no vaccines today then I didn’t have to come all the way for nothing. I said to the administrator (as she said she’s the manager) your clinic need to apologize first, it’s completely wasted time and energy for you and me, if you already knew there’s no vaccines today at least call me so I didn’t need to come. She literally said there’s nothing for her to apologize and it’s not her fault. Wow so unbelievable. And another administrator came into the room later and made a face with the manager, I said to her: please don’t make that face. And not surprised, she refused to admit doing that. During the whole conversation the staff was so rude and lack of manners, it’s the worst experience I’ve ever had. Unfortunately I couldn’t put zero star out of five, they definitely don’t deserve that one star.
Pre-registration begins at 8: 30, clinic opens at 9. I was there at 8: 15, left by 11: 45 when i was still waiting. Didn't get a text until 12 saying they'd be ready for me. I think it's disgusting that it takes over 3.5 hours to be seen, especially after showing up 45 mins before the clinic actually opens. I was 10th in line for the walk-in clinic. The wait should NOT have been that long. Meanwhile, everyone with appointments was priority and those for walk-ins, completely neglected. Disgusting clinic and disgusting medical care in Canada. Avoid this clinic at all costs if you want to actually be seen. Walk-in patients are left to rot in the waiting room. One doctor for 30+ people for walk-ins and people with appts. Appletree needs to shut down this location.
Giving them one star is even too much. We had an appointment at 11 am and they took us in at 3 pm. Even though we had an appointment they made walk ins a higher priority. Whoever runs this place is unprofessional and clearly a 2 year old can do a better job.
Horrible experience. Had an appointment booked and had to wait 2 hours plus still. Asked the receptionist how long would it be and she said we were late when we were 15 mins early. The place is terribly ran.
This is the worst clinic that you can go to. I have had multiple occasions that I have tried to visit the location during working hours and the clinic was closed without any notice or explanation. Please avoid going here as this place is a total waste of time.
I called looking for some assistance in regards to finding an open walk in clinic. The lady was not very helpful. I have tried going to them in person and get told they are not a walk in clinic. Why advertise that your are then. It is not an emergency so it’s no point taking up a spot at the hospital when the walk in clinic is just as good. Need more walk in clinics and people that like to help working there
This place should shut down due to its poor management or whatever they call this nonesense. Every single person waiting in line either left or was frustrate due to the service. Some people had appointments booked and yet still waited 3 hrs in line. My pet dog can do better at running this place maybe my dog should hand in his resume.
I don’t understand the other reviews being so critical but my experience was nothing but 100% wonderful and I am ever so grateful for the expedient referral to a specialist. Just maybe staff could smile more, but they have a Hectic busy job are people appear to have no patience these days.
I booked a rapid antigen test for travel. This clinic waited until 30 minutes before my appointment to call me and tell me that the letters they provide with the results do not include the date and time of the test and that other people using their results were turned away by airport security. Why advertise providing this test for travel when the letter does not have the necessary information? Now I am stuck with no test result and no time remaining.
240 Sparks is a terrible place. I would give it 0 stars if I could. The staff is unprofessional, with condescending attitudes toward patients (especially the "nurse"), no information is provided, the communication is absolutely horrible. I went with my husband because he had a bad night cough. After waiting for 3 hours, they said he had to show a negative COVID test in order to see a doctor. We asked if they carried out tests, they said no and that they didn't know where he could get one done. UNBELIEVABLE! What are they there for?
Just don't. Go anywhere else, the site is inaccurate, the receptionists have no information, the call centre only refers you back to the website and managers are always "not in the office". Don't do walk in, if it's your last resort then make an appointment through the patient portal days in advance. If you walk in then wait times will be 3+ hours. Horrible business, some good doctors.
The saving grace of this clinic is Dr. Kaushik. I've had a few appointments with Appletree Medical Group over the years, usually when my own family doctor wasn't available, and previously always left disappointed with the inconsistent service, poor patient-oriented communication, and lack of efficient admin processes. Until today. I registered for a walk-in appt in the morning and received a call back a few hrs later to see Dr. Kaushik. From the get-go he made me feel comfortable, was patient, thorough, and had an amazing bedside manner. I'm sure his day was extremely busy, but it didn't show. He was kind, professional and went above and beyond to make sure I was ok. First time I actually felt cared for during a dr's appointment. So thank you - please know that you make a difference.
If I could give 0 stars I would. For the past four days the doctor has either skipped my appointment or cancelled it. I don’t have anxiety but now I do.a really needed appointment and it’s been skipped and cancelled. Each day I had two separate appointments to ensure I got an appointment at all.very disappointed. They have one job and they failed to help
1 person ahead of me in line and waited over an hour and half, all to be turned away from telemedicine once I actually got inside, biggest waste of time of my life.
This is really your best bet for a walk-in downtown. Very busy and you will wait a while but Dr Kaushik is very quick and efficient all the while being attentive and friendly. The staff are also great.
Bit of a wait (1 hour in lobby and 40 minutes in a room) but not any more than any other free clinic. The doctor was professional and helped me with my questions and concerns. He set up an appointment with a specialist within the month so I'm throughouly impressed
Over 2 hrs wait time. People that arrived after me being seen before me. After the wait, you're taken to another room where you wait some more. Doctors don't really seem to care. Get it together.
You're going to wait, but the staff here are excellent. I work nearby, so I went and checked in, then went back to work for a couple hours and returned with a very short wait. The nurse and doctor here were very respectful and helpful. I really enjoyed the electronic check-in and questionnaire. It helped my appointment run smoothly. They were able to know what tests to run first thing so that the doctor could quickly understand the situation.
Had a travel consultation with Dr. Kaushik and it was the most pleasant doctor consultation I've ever had at any walk in clinic. He was professional, attentive, and very informative. The staff at reception was also quite pleasant.
Young unexpiereinced doctor Marin Scott. USELESS after a work accident. Didnt prescribe me mri, xrays Or nerve conducting studies after severe accident that happen to.my head and body. Took long time to.attend the ASSESMENT was USELESS. Sent me.back to work when i should be getting the prescribed the right exams and prescriptions. UNACCEPTABLE. DO NOT BOTHER VISITING THE CLINIC THEIR DOCTORS ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL.
Incomprehensible level of service. After several calls to get results for tests they requested I finally gave up. Will have go to another doctor to have same tests done again
On the bright side: Dr. Kaushik is a good MD. He's attentive, makes small talk and knows what he's talking about. He makes you relaxed and comfortable.
On the problematic side: wait was 3hrs. (After called in, still waited ~30min) ; this is almost like going to the Emerg. And parking was $3/30min, so you have to park farther and walk here if you don't want to pay fees.
Dr. Kaushik is simply the best. I prefer seeing him for health issues that concern me over my own family doctor, even if it means I have to pay the $75 fee (being a resident from Quebec). He takes the time to discuss the issue, and doesn’t hesitate to throw in a joke once in a while if the timing is right. 5 stars just for him; keep doing what you’re doing, and know that your efforts are extremely appreciated.
Best Walk-In Experience! Kind, quick, professional. They actually took their time and listened to my concerns and symptoms and made great recommendations!
I have been to this clinic a few times as I work in the same building, and it's very convenient if not feeling well while at work. In my experiences I have found that Dr. Kaushik is very professional, thorough, and caring, especially for a clinic doctor. The wait can be long, but it's because they are very busy. The last time I went, I told them I was having a hard time breathing, and the attendant took me into a room right away. Would definitely recommend this clinic and Dr. Kaushik.
Saw Dr. Kaushik and he was a little greasy & disheveled for a professional, let alone a Doctor.
I didn't want to base my review on him looking unprofessional, but considering I couldn't get any medical care from him, I really have nothing else to base my review on.
After I left it did really anger me that he would just stand there, especially considering he likely billed the government for his 15 minutes even though I only spent about 3 minutes there before giving up and heading to another walk-in clinic.
