Norm Sabourin (Aqua Sound Entertainment) is a genius. And I don’t use that adjective often for creative types. He is exceptionally perceptive at discerning an artist's vision for a song in a fair amount of detail, and then directing them through the recording process towards actualizing this vision.
I've also benefited greatly from his own creative input for my work. My songs tend to not fit neatly into genre definitions, and cross many cultural and language demarcations. Norm still manages to connect with the heart and core of each song, and puts his substantial technical experience and expertise to work, advising and critiquing where needed with some pretty awesome results.
What I've appreciated from him the most in my work, is not just his understanding my vision, but his taking on a creative responsibility towards rendering a work that he can stand behind as well.
So far he’s worked with me on Ramadan Toronto, both renditions of The Anthem, and the recently released album Dayāré Mustafā, for which almost all of the post production was done across oceans and time zones.
Between the philosophizing and solving the problems of the entire world in his production room, and pouring out my soul in his recording booth into a ridiculously amazing microphone, I’ve loved every minute of working with him.
Norm’s studio is located in the east end of Toronto. If you go there, tell him I sent you. It'll make him happy.

I have had the pleasure of working with Norm Sabourin at Aquasound Studios on numerous occasions.
His musicianship, his skills as an engineer, arranger and producer, and his dedication to the project at hand are truly outstanding!

We use Aqua Sound Studio for our video and sound editing. The engineer always does a fantastic job. We are very satisfied with his professionalism and work ethic.

Norm Sabourin at Aqua Sound Studio is the ULTIMATE place to go for all your recording needs. We send all our students exclusively to him. He is a fantastic producer, mixing engineer, and one of the BEST vocal engineer in the industry! No one can come close to his abilities and expertise. We highly recommend this Studio for anyone who wants to record an original song and/or demo.

Norm is a super nice guy, very knowledgeable with a modern, updated sound recording studio. He took the time to share insights and expertise beyond the scope of the task - I would highly recommend Aqua Sound Studios!

Norm did a great job with the mix and added some fantastic guitar overdubs. Very seasoned producer. I highly recommend Norm for your next production or mix session.
