Ararat International Fine Foods

I was trying to get some baking supplies for a Christmas cake. Having found everything except ground nutmeg and raw cashews, I stopped by this quaint little store on my way to the greatest LCBO. Now the store itself is not new to me as I pass by almost every day. I've never really had a chance to visit that's all.

Peter, the quirky yet funny owner was kind enough to let me buy what I needed although the store was out of business hours, then came Aurora from somewhere inside recommending dry roasted cashews which they stocked won't work for the cake. What happened next is what made me leave this review for a gem of a store and the people with a heart of gold. Peter went above and beyond looking for raw cashews in his stock room and got me a bag. In the end I got more than what I was looking for and also met two beautiful human beings spreading the joy of Christmas!

Highly recommend if you're scouting for fine foods or just a beautiful conversation with kind hearts.

Very rude people I sat down to take a short rest as I’m in air cast boot as I broke my foot and walking takes a lot of energy out of me, I was going inside to buy some bakery goods & spices owners comes out tells me not to sit down and go? They lost my business and plus their products are over expensive price gouging like spices that I need to buy.
I would NOT recommend anyone going there to shop.

Very quaint and jam-packed store, with a largely Turkish/Middle Eastern selection of products. Service is "traditional, " by which I mean kind of rude if you're used to obsequious staff. The old fellow behind the counter is curt but funny, and may offer you a free Turkish coffee. They have some really great products, but I can't get over what I was charged for hummus. It was very good, but the cost was usurious. Ask about prices before you hit the till.

We wanted to check out this place, so we walked in, immediately this old man tells us they are closed in a rude and snappy manner. His strong rude reaction was not warranted. We were very puzzled and uncomfortable. I will never go back here.

She has wonderful gourmet products. The hummus is amazing, olives amazing!
