Archie Horn is our "go to" company for anything plumbing related. We recently had a collapsed water pipe in an awkward location. Paul came up with an innovative solution which was cost effective and efficient. We asked Paul about adding a shower to an existing two-piece powder room in a restricted space area. He came up with an all-inclusive solution including excavation, plumbing, wiring, wall framing, drywall and trims. The work was carried out by Amie and Lucas who were amazing. They worked hard, efficiently and obviously knew what they were doing. Total clean up at the end of each day and you couldn't ask for two nicer workers who were respectful of us and our home. We would absolutely recommend Archie Horn & Sons for your plumbing and other related needs.

We love working with these guys! We have hired them for 2 different projects now; installing ductless AC/heat pump units throughout our house and to replace our hot water heater with a tankless unit. They are fast, respectful, tidy and knowledgeable. They go above and beyond. Dave and his team are a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely use them again should anything come up.

Dave Jardine and his team helped us with two projects, (1) heat pump/ductless AC installation, and (2) installing a new tankless water heater together with repairing some piping and venting on our boiler. We couldn't be happier with the work, and the team was very professional, clean and respectful. Dave also took the time to help us find the most economical options (honesty is always appreciated)! There was also a small defect on one of the parts on the water heater that became noticeable the day after, but it was promptly addressed within the hour. All around great service.

I recently had Archie Horn & Sons in at my home and had a great experience. They are clean, respectable and professional. I would highly recommend their services.

Had Dave Jardines guys (George and James) put a furnace in for me. I'm very fussy when it comes to details and these guys didn't disappoint! Quality workmanship. They left the basement spotless. I had my doubts about the tiny little furnace they installed, but WOW, feels like it's going to lift the roof off. My daughter says she feels cold upstairs now! Will definitely recommend Archie Horn to friends and neighbors.

They plugged in my thermostat. It took 15 minutes. 2 men were present and they charged me $120 for each man, plus the cost of the high end thermostat. I got it reduced by $120. Then I got someone else to fix the setting on the thermostat so that it would run.

I was charged for the worker's lunch break and was charged double what I was quoted for the parts. A few years later, I found out that the work was not done correctly and would need to be replaced.

I also had other parts break down because of the poorly done work. I called to see if the work was still under warranty - if it's not, I would be using another company. They wanted to make things right. They came quickly to fix my toilet, and told me that I would not be charged for the work. A week later, I get a $200 bill in the mail for 15 minutes of work.

I live in a condo with a quite dated HVAC system which Archie Horn & Sons seems to take great advantage of to charge people much more than they should. They have come to "fix" my HVAC system (2 of them) at least five times within the last month and each time it works for a few hours to a few days before running cold again. No communication. They just show up when they want and do not clean up after their work. I would NEVER hire tham and am looking for someone else to service my unit since they obviously cannot help me. Buyer be very aware.

As I a habit, we always receive three quotes before hiring tradespeople. For plumbers these quotes are not free, averaging $45 each. We hired Archie Horn & Son because their quote was the best one. We should have read the reviews (below). As many others are complaining, when the invoice came later, the amount was hundreds of dollars more. Extra hours that the plumber was not there at all, and unnecessary extra parts that no one asked for or were informed about. When I called them to bring these "errors" to their attention, the excuses and the delays and the passing of the buck continued for a week and a half. Buyer beware.

They installed a new pool heater the end of August 2020, I used in for about 2 weeks then closed pool for winter. Spring start up heater not working, tech came for 10 minutes said it needed new igniter.
Went back to where I purchased it because warranty was in place.
Another tech for another company came out for the warranty call.
Just needed to be cleaned out of spiders in gas jets.
Done and working fine. Archie Horn wanted to order a part and charge me for another service appt. Told them to forget it and I have lost confidence in them. Never again.

Amazing! Came out in a snow storm. Fixed the problem quickly, very professional and friendly. Masked and social distanced. Chris is the best!

Unbelievably good experience with Dave Jardine. He came out to estimate a job on a unique HVAC system (aquatherm by First Co.) and ended up personally repairing the problem on the spot. Others had previously suggested replacing the whole system at $10,000+. We ended up with a service call charge.and they have a customer for life.

Called them to get a price to move couple of rads around the property, the said they will show up at the next day, never showed up or even a phone call, so i decided to call them to find out what happen, so when i called the office again, someone answered and had no idea about the appointment and was not in her book, she said she will call me back, which she did, and said that he had an emergency then i asked her when do i expect him to look at the job, then she said he went to the side and decided not to do the job and left, didn't call or didn't bother to inform me that they are not interested to do the job.very poor quality and not professional at all.

Archie Horn has been doing all of my HVAC and plumbing servicing and install for 8 years +. Stellar service and expertise. Their ability to complete complex jobs in older homes is fantastic!

Our basement has some old, irregular plumbing. When the outflow began to back up we called Archie Horn & Son. They accommodated us early the next day. The job ended up requiring two plumbers who worked quietly and effectively to solve the problem. Afterwards, Chris kindly explained the nature of the problem and how they collaborated to work around some of the irregularities. They cleaned up their work spaces well and capped a couple of potentially troublesome elements in the system. The cost was below what we expected, particularly as the work required two experts. We would recommend Archie Horn & Son to anyone in need of residential plumbing repair.

Charged $300 travelling expense. Not able to deal with septic tank problem. $800 later still unsolved. $150/hour.
Found them on searching for service near Guelph, why are they advertising at this site when they are from Hamilton, especially since they charge for travelling. Nothing personal against the polite young man who came.

Chris did a great job and was quick about it. Was not overcharged for wasted time as has happened in the past. Thank you Chris.

Very unprofessional by owner Curtis Horn (Archie Horn & Son) to cancel an hour prior to meeting with my contractor. Curtis said that they are too busy and to find another plumber as they didn't appreciate discounting their overcharges/damages on their work to my property. I spent over $4K with Archie Horn & Son year to date.

Archie Horn does over charge after work is complete, they did adjust the price afterwards but you have to prove yourself on their mistakes/errors. The discounting was done because they broke my tile and scratched my bathtub ($150 discount) during a clogged drainage. Additionally, they charged an extra 2 hours because their GPS said the truck arrived, although their was two trucks and they didn't start working until the second truck pulled in.

When Dave Jardine @ Archie Horn & Son returns your calls for heating, it's like winning the lottery as he rarely returns calls (maybe he'll change after reading this, or not). I will say that employees Chris and George are great for plumbing and heating, although upper management Curtis Horn and Dave Jardine are delusional and unprofessional.

I do have other work that needs to be done that would have have been in excess of the $4K spent (City main water relocation, toilet relocation, rad relocation), but Curtis Horn is a short sighted man and sided with a Dave Jardine, who never returns calls in a timely manner or at all.

I'll look for another company to do my work and I suggest that who ever is reading this that you do the same.

Archie Horn & Son saved the day for our building. It was their gasfitter / HVAC team that found and resolved our issues, but we are equally satisfied with their plumbing services. Great service from all at Horn.

We were in desperate need of help and Archie Horn was there for us. Thanks again, excellent work!

Was charged over 3 extra hours so called and asked why why and never received a call back. So called again and told I would get a call back. Still no call, no message, nothing. Then got a nasty message telling me I was going to collections for non payment. Called them and advised them I was trying to pay bill after an explanation of the charges, but THEY had not called me back twice I was told I would have a call back the next day at 8: 30. At 9 am still no call back. Why would I be surprised that Archie Horn &Son never returned a call? It isn't like they didn't call before.
Finally got a call where they assured me the charges were right. When they looked again they had billed extra hours they weren't even here. No apology. They gave me the right rate making me feel like they were doing me a favour for deducting the charges they had fraudulently charged me. I paid the new bill right away. I informed them the problem was never fixed and I had to have another company come in to fix it.
Then got a bill in mail where they highlight that account was going to collections where anyone could see it was in collections as it was not professionally or confidentially. Something a cheap, low life would pull. Best part is it was sent out after I had paid account.
Think twice of dealing with this company.

They over bill significantly and don't apologize for their mistakes

They make you feel like they are doing you a favour when they correct THEIR mistake

They don't fix the problem yet threaten you and embarrass the customer.

They send nasty message which is unprofessional and childish whereas if they had just called back or even better didn't try to rip off their customers in the wouldn't first place would have bill already paid

Send out unprofessional shame letters to customer using a highlighter whereas confidential information is not kept confidential.

Company acts like a spoiled child throwing a temper tantrum.

Fantastic plumbers. They did an amazing job repairing and replacing toilets in my rental units. They are highly knowledgeable trusted and experienced in their field.

Was quoted $1300 - $1700 to install two supplied residential radiators. My General Contractor was witness to the verbal quote. Work done well but then invoice for almost $3000 mailed to me. I called to discuss. Spoke to receptionist who advised that someone would follow up with me which didn't happen. Now April and I receive a copy of the original invoice threatening "Collection Agency" if not paid by April 2. Very unprofessional way to run a business. I'm out of the country now and just sent e-mail asking them to wait till my return to discuss/resolve.we shall see. I will update this post with hope Archie Horn & Sons becomes more responsive.

We have used this company on different jobs and their plumber Chris is by far the best plumber we have ever had. We also refer them to all our clients and have never received less then glowing feedback. Great company to work with! You get what you pay for always!

I have called on Archie Horn and Son 3 times within the last year for plumbing issues. Very professional. Just had Andre come out and do some work.he was great. Thank you. I hope I dont have to call you again in the near future lol, but if I do, I know the work will be quality. Highly recommended.

I had two plumbers come to quote me on installing a whole home filtration system all pieces are there all tgey had to do was put it together very easy for a plumber archie horn and son are probably very experienced but tgey will rip you off big money first plumber quoted me $280, archie horn and sons quoted $1750, i havexa friend tgats a steam fitter that will do it for free. Shop around because archie horn and sons are looking to take advantage of people

Archie Horn and son will try to rip you off, i called them in to put together some pipes and pieces, i provided all the part all they had to do was a coupke hours of work they quoted me 1400$ for 2 hours of work all profit, tgey thought because i live in a nice house, i dont mind giving away an extra $1200 for nothing, unbelievable, they are looking to take advantage of people, very offensive, call Royal Flush this guy is amazing. Archie Horn and Son will try to rip u off.
