From walking in to visiting with the doctor it was very efficient. The doctor was caring. Thank you. When you are feeling awful it is nice to be treated this way. Cecelia White

This is hands down one of the best walk-in clinics I’ve been to. Right off the bat, the receptionist was kind, helpful and gave clear instructions. The physician’s assistant was also very thorough and ensured she relayed an accurate history to Dr Soliman. The doctor then took his time to discuss diagnosis, treatment and next steps. The clinic’s wait times were reasonable and the pharmacist next door was incredibly compassionate and professional as well. You’re in good hands here. Thank you folks!

I was being treated by Dr. Hamzi, before he no longer practiced at this clinic, and he was phenomenal. I was receiving cryotherapy treatments every 2 weeks on two separate fingers, and it was progressing well. I didn’t return for about a month and a half due to the holidays and being busy with work. I returned in the new year in hopes to continue with my treatments, and Dr. Solimon and a new grad medical student were now practicing in place of Dr. Hamzi. Since I had this treatment done multiple times before, I figured it would be no problem. The new grad medical student applied the cryotherapy treatment (without Dr. Solimon present in the room) and I experienced significant pain on one of my fingers as I had never felt before - I knew something wasn’t right. Long story short, the treatment resulted in me getting frostbite and having fully necrotic tissue on one of the finger (on my dominant hand, nonetheless). As much as this upset me, I knew she didn’t do it on purpose - however when I returned to have it looked at to proceed with the next steps, she showed no remorse and also lacked accountability for her actions. In fact, the only reason she apologized was because I requested, since that’s the least she can do. I was out of work for 2 days while they sent me for multiple tests + tried to find a surgeon to operate on me. The receptionist and Dr. Solimon even tried to gaslight me and say that “it was really cold outside that week” to deter their fault. As someone who also works in healthcare, it left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. Thankfully, I work under an orthopaedic surgeon and he advised me on how to take care of the physical damage. Dr. Solimon was the only one from the Arkell clinic who cared enough to check up on me, however I still don’t feel they handled this situation properly. To this day, my finger still isn’t fully back to normal. Definitely won’t return to this clinic and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

This was our second time trying to come here, sadly. Receptionist Sharon is rude. Our experience was that she was immediately disinterested in providing friendly service let alone cracking a smile when we came through the door. The first time she was equally unpleasant. Long waits. We were the first ones here but doctor was on lunch. He took forever to start serving any patients. In fact, we waited a hour and a half and then just left. Didn't see anyone. I don't recommend coming here.
10 July 2023 2:09
Called and was told to arrive by 5: 30pm to be seen. Arrived as requested and was refused being told the clinic was done for the day. I do not recommend this clinic, don't waste your time.
20 June 2023 11:03
Waiting. Lots and lots of waiting. Gotta come in as soon as it opens if you don’t wanna wait. Service is alright but there’s just a lot and a lot of waiting. Be prepared to wait.

A terrible experience with Arkell road. They are understaffed and unprofessional. Do not go there for a serious injury. I wasted 2 weeks of critical time waiting for ultra sound results. My family DR had the results and a referral to a specialist in 24 hours

I needed to see a doctor today for severe cough. I got in right away. Dr. Saad saw me. He was very professional. The receptionist was very professional. It sure beats going to Emergency and screened through for 30 minutes.
This is the 3rd time I visit. Last time was Dr. Saad for shingles 2 years ago. The previous time was a female doctor for an infection after a rooster attack, 7 years ago.

Very friendly and professional staff. I’ve been here several times and have never been let down. I live beside another clinic and happily travel to this one instead.

I have concern about their IT department keeping your private information safe. Poorly run clinic.
I filled in all the appropriate forms at the very start of a new doctor accepting patients. I followed instructions to the letter, and not to contact them to find out where I am on the wait list as they are "very busy". After 6 months wait, I did contact and each time I was told something different. They "lost" my application or the new doctor is full, or the new doctor is no longer working there anymore.

Visited the clinic July 27th and it was closed. It was marked as being open on-line. The pharmacist who apparently is responsible for the clinic advised that the clinic would open July 28th. Visited July 28th and the clinic was closed, once again it was marked as being open on-line. I advised the pharmacist that perhaps someone should update the hours on their website. Terrible customer service and lack of respect for patients time.

I went to this clinic the first time on Wednesday May 11th - overall, it was a great experience. I arrived around 5: 20 (the walk-in finished at 6 pm) and based on my experience at other clinics, I thought I had no likelihood of getting in due to a patient backlog. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. There was one other patient in front of me, so there were no issues getting seen. The receptionist was friendly as was the doctor. The doctor was very kind and professional and, in my opinion, properly diagnosed my issue and provided what I believe was the right prescription. I would gladly go back to this clinic again!
30 May 2022 15:23
A particular lady receptionist was so rude, unprofessional and pathetic. But the doctors are great guys.
27 March 2022 9:19
Pathetic excuse of a doctor. Dismissed all concerns and interrupted before even hearing all the details. Totally rude and unprofessional. Don't waste your time here unless you want your concerns brushed off.
10 March 2022 8:03
Just tried to walk in because I’ve been having chest and back pain for the past 2 weeks. Before I could even finish my sentence she told me I wasn’t allowed to be in there with that symptom because of Covid. Even though I’ve tested negative for COVID recently, never even gave me the chance to say that. Doctor is EXTREMELY rude. If you want to be treated with any sort of respect do not come here.
29 January 2022 9:45
As all the other reviews say, horrible receptionist. Why was she yelling at me for asking about a prescription? So weird.
25 July 2021 19:30
Open at 10am Monday. Show up at 11: 45 and told we need to book an "appointment " for the afternoon because the doctor takes lunch from 12-1.they opened an hour and 45 minutes ago. Total waste of time.this is not a walk in clinic its a doctors office who has no patients so they advertise as a walk in and then make you book an appointment! I can just imagine the quality if care received
17 July 2021 18:08
This clinic is very unprofessional and does not have friendly, welcoming desk staff. I went here last week with an expired health card (per Service Ontario and the government, any health card that expired after March 2020 is still valid due to Covid-19 at an attempt to try and decrease the spread of the virus) and the receptionist said she was going to fine me $70.00 for the appointment. I was told by my family doctor that my health card was still valid due to the pandemic and this was confirmed on the government website, as well as a Service Ontario staff member and they did not listen. My husband called and they still argued with him.

Extremely unprofessional and unaware of the legislation that the Ontario government has put out. I will not be returning here.
29 May 2021 11:33
Terrible doctor.
He hadn’t heard about my pain and ask me to stop and hear him out first.

I mean how could someone (doctor) explain me what is the medical condition I am having; without even me explaining it all? ! He asked me to eat meat; but after knowing that I am vegetarian, he gave me a very weird and aggressive tone.

Don’t waste your time at this location.
Go to anywhere else in Guelph!

I wouldn’t give a star if there was an option of zero or negative star!

Good reception and well kept clinic, despite COVID-19 restrictions and difficulties.

Waiting times can be annoying sometimes, but should get better if you book an appointment in advance and arrive earlier.

Very good family doctors. You won’t need to look elsewhere for quality family medicine. They can take on a lot of cases and advice you for specialty treatments, if necessary.

Pharmacist and her assistant are helpful and experienced.

Good, friendly atmosphere.

I made an appointment but when I got there, was told I had to wait in order of who arrived first anyway. The doctor asked my partner if he thought there was actually something wrong with me and decided that I didn't need any tests. Called us back later that night that he'd changed his mind but wouldn't say why and I had test orders there to pick up. I went to pick it up and the clinic had closed early. The pharmacist said there was nothing there for me and the doctor doesn't answer his phone once he's gone. A lady was behind me saying she had an appointment for 5: 30 and was informed then that the doctor had left so no one would be seeing her
08 September 2020 10:07
Cordial, direct and professional! To the individual claiming Dr. Dhaliwal is unprofessional for using his phone: it's 2020 boomer, get with the times.
24 August 2020 14:58
Went in one time to the walk in because I had a sore neck. The dr prescribed me some painkillers. A few days later I went to the hospital. I had strep throat and my sore neck was swollen lymph nodes. If the Dr had bothered to ask me to open my mouth or felt my neck she would have seen it and diagnosed it differently. Makes you second guess when a Dr gives their verdict

I know that everything with COVID-19 is making pretty much everything disorganized, so I try to remember this when writing this review. However, I have wasted a good number of hours physically and on the phone, trying to straighten out my appointments. I ended up giving up after calling in, having a phone-appointment with a doctor (which ended in an agreement of a scheduled in-person meeting in which to do treatment), and then when I physically bused there, was told it was supposed to be a phone appointment, and I shouldn't have come? I bit the bullet and came back the next day for treatment (for a different doctor and receptionist who were lovely). But after a bunch of issues that (hey, could have been a misunderstanding on my part, but I kinda doubt it) continuously wasted my time and energy, I made an appointment at a different clinic
07 March 2020 3:34
I had a major concern regarding my health and wondered if they could listen to my concerns. Initially I was refused service because I had Interim Federal Health Coverage (IFHC) issued by Immigration Canada and was asked “you will be provided service for a fee of $70.00”. Not cooperative, neglecting and discarding off your concerns.

Had I been a physician, or working in a clinic or hospital, I would prioritize human being as a “person” not as an “it”, would listen to his/her concerns and would make sure I assist them in their therapeutic adventure.

So what’s the active role of medical staff in the community? Whenever one gets sick for whatsoever reason, occasionally they are afraid of visiting medical staff due to the harsh reality of not being addressed properly and rather chose live by illness and pain.
03 March 2020 23:40
I never like to give negative reviews but when it comes to physicians we expect professionalism. We been to Arkell Walk in today. Dr. Gagan Dhaliwal was very unprofessional. He left the room with out saying anything and making sure if we have any question with an attitude. I think Arkell Walk in should bring better physicians.
01 March 2020 16:37
The receptionist was kind to me when I arrived for the walk-in service. I told her I had been experiencing chest pains. Upon seeing the doctor I explained the situation more in depth, describing an episode I had a few days prior. Following an anxiety attack, which I have experienced since childhood, I had symptoms unlike anything before. I went to the doctor after several people advised me to go. And with a concerning family medical history, I thought it would be a smart option. I was in the walk-in doctor's office for a total of five minutes. He told me it was only because of my anxiety that I had these unusual pains. He did not ask for my past/family medical history or perform any kind of physical examination. He instead seemed completely disinterested and downplayed my symptoms as I was talking about them. I have never been made to felt so ashamed for wanting to seek medical attention.
26 February 2020 23:25
Bad attitudes, bad experiences

———————————————

Edit: The doctor talked about my last experience with me on the second appointment, which showed they do care about their clients.
21 January 2020 21:34
After spending the night at emerge and getting no where with a diagnosis, I came to Arkell walk in as a last resort for the pain I was in.
I only waited an hour to be seen. It seemed that she stopped taking morning patients around 11ish so make sure you get there early if you can.
The Receptionist/RN Sharon was very friendly, caring and helpful. The doctor (I believe his last name started with a D) was very attentive and caring as well. After attempting a few tests he recognized that my condition was beyond the scope of their practice at the clinic and made efforts to contact a specialist for me.
They were able to get me an appointment with a specialist the next day, and the Doctor brought me to the back to have a conversation about everything I was going through and was very understanding.
I've since been properly diagnosed and I'm so grateful for the staff at this clinic, they made me feel at home and supported.

Very excellent front staffs and the Doctors are amazing they spends quality time in listening to the patient concerns.

This review is for the pharmacy - always super helpful and very friendly. The pharmacist (I think she’s the pharmacist) is always so nice and takes time out to answer questions I have:) Thank you!

The doctors knowledgeablility is awful. I had seen the doctor at Arkell Walk-In on a sunday morning, (as most Walk In’s are closed on sundays) so this Walk-In had been one of my only options. I went in and explained my unability to breathe properly and my shortness of breath. I had been sick for weeks and the doctor proceeds to tell me that I just had a cold. I didn’t believe this disagnosis since i know my own body, and so i went to a different doctor Monday morning. This new doctor (Summerside Walk-In) inside the Walmart in Guelph has rediagnosed me with PNEUMONIA. Pneumonia kills many people each year, and if I wouldn’t have gone to another doctor I could have died. The doctor at Arkell Walk-In should lose his job. He does not give thourough attention to his patients.
02 October 2019 11:55
The doctor we saw is lazy and not knowledgable. He made us go to the emerg and wait 3 hours to find out there was no issue instead of spending 5 minutes of his time on us.
17 September 2019 6:45
I was turned away from this doctors office, even after I said all I need was more pain medication. They close in 1 hour (4pm). I was in such pain; I was crying. She (the receptionist) simply was not a humanitarian and turned me away from care. She said "sorry but you have to go to the hospital". Never had such a bad experience when it was VERY obvious I needed some help and there were only 2 people in the waiting room. She wanted me, to go wait for 5 hours in the amount if pain I was in, too get pain medication when it takes only 5 minutes for the doctor to print a paper VERY DISAPPOINTING. I went to silvercreek, crying, they had 2 patients waiting and STILL took me in. I was out of their office before 3: 40PM. I hope the doctor
24 June 2019 17:06
Wait times can be extremely long for not many people in the waiting area. It seems like theres only one doctor at all times and the processing times are very slow. Unless hes your family doctor I wouldnt recommend coming here unless you like waiting
28 March 2019 1:06
Had a great experience today. From receptionist to dr. Very carying team.i saw dr. Ghaly. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and thorough. I think best dr. I have ever encountered. 5 plus stars!
24 March 2019 0:23
I was told “everything was fine” from Dr. Gahly after my second ultrasound appointment. I went in for a referral to an OBGYN and was handed a piece of paper from the receptionist that told me I had a miscarriage at 6w. He didn’t follow up with a cal, he didn’t even speak to me. He lied, he avoided and this was the most traumatic experience I have ever had with healthcare in Canada. 0/100 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
22 February 2019 13:20
Should not tell someone it will be 2 hours and then take over 4 hours beyond closing time. Do not understand how the process works with new patients showing up late in the day and admitted before the ones waiting in line are looked after.
17 February 2019 19:15
The receptionist is the worst person I have ever seen in my life, completely ignores when you talk politely and be accomodative. Rolled her eyes at me every time i tried to talk. Why is she at a doctor's office if she does not want to be there. WORST HOSPITAL AND RECEPTIONIST, that lady is the worst
26 January 2019 23:35
BS service. Receptionist is rude and Dr doesn’t understand English that well or ignores descriptions on purpose because he doesn’t know how to categorize them.
22 January 2019 9:00
I came in on my lunch and the doctor was out and the receptionist was incredibly kind and I was feeling really sick and she was really accommodating to my needs.
21 January 2019 22:51
Came in to get checked out after I was in a car accident and had been told by a friend (who is a nurse at a hospital) that I most likely had a concussion and whiplash and needed to be seen by a doctor. The receptionist was insanely rude to not only myself but other people trying to check in, and the doctor downplayed my injuries completely. When I was paying for my note the receptionist was, surprise, rude. Went to a different doctor who listened to my concerns and diagnosed me properly. Avoid this clinic.
23 December 2018 9:54
Came here to get my stitches removed and the receptionist rudely stated that they don't remove stitches and to go to the emergency at the hospital.

There were no other patients here they were jusy simply lazy and didn't want to remove my stitches.

I was told by my doctor and nurse at work that a walk in clinic could remove my stitches, heck even when I went to emerg in the hospital the nurses were suprised that the clinic rejected me and agreed that they were simply lazy.

Would not recommend this walk in clinic.
