Arnold Crescent Animal Hospital

We had an appointment for my dog Maggie this morning at 11.30 am. Her lump had popped and she was profusely bleeding so we were running about 15 minutes late for the appointment. I was called and told my dog cannot be seen before 1.30 pm because we were late. I anyways got there within 2 minutes of her call as we were already on our way with a bleeding dog. The receptionist was rude and turned us away. We had no choice but to take Maggie to another vet who accommodated us right away.
They are also extremely expensive, that was actually the reason why we had to delay her lump removal surgery but unfortunately it now needs attention and treatment. Glad the other place is not only compassionate towards animals but are also not ripping us off our money. After all what has happened Dr. Janice also did not have the courtesy to call us and address this.
The truth is this place just cares about making money and have zero compassion towards your pets. Will never ever be returning to this place. Just because of being 15 minutes late they have lost two patients today as I have 2 dogs.
Every time we have gone before for our appointments we have always waited for minimum 15-30 minutes before being seen by the doctor. So not sure how our being a bit late today was such a huge issue. Guess whatever happens happens for the good. Very happy with the new clinic.

The vets are very knowledgeable and compassionate, and they go over everything with understandable explanations.

My cat Miumiu was diagnosed with lymphomaI cancer just two month before our moves to another country. It was such a frustrated moments with a lot of things going on, but I can greafully to say without Dr. Tarable and staff member's help I will not be able to sit here and share it with no heart broken. I was showing up at the hospital wanted to do a overall health check. Before I came here I had her checked out at another clinic but the vets there over looked her issues, I just wanted to have a scound opinion as taking flight is kind of a big deal. We quickly did bloodwork and the result come back on the next day, there was some concerns so we had ultrasound alomst on the same day when we find out her bloodwork might indicate cancer. Dr. Tarable did a great job by explaining it to me and it's truly helped me to accept such serious matter happens in a sudden. We received our treatment only a few days after, and Miumiu's respond to the medication is great, her newest bloodwork come back completely normal now. Sometimes I felt the medication can only help you to do half of the work, the other half comes from how you taking care around the illness. We had been taking goood care of from this hospital, they can do many tests in the house, such as they can do ultrasound on-site it makes diagnoses a lot quicker, and easier for sick or senior animals to do follow ups. Now for me, we are at home happily with Miumiu, everything has been setted down, she is doing great, our flight went smoothly thanks for the advice! We were referred to Dr Tarable by another local Veterinarian. Our GSD had suffered trauma to his ear and Dr T and his staff were extremely helpful right from the start. Dr T was caring, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I will definitely bring my dog for any future visits to see him.

I have been coming here for years, the doctors and staff here are caring and compassionate people. They give you the options and what the costs are. You decide what you are comfortable with. I have never been pressured to do more than what is needed. I absolutely would recommend this hospital.

Been happily going to this clinic since 2015 or 2016. Dr. D and Dr. T are both excellent and now we are happily working with Dr. Willow to manage various issues across my clowder of senior cats.

Receptionists like Rebecca are always great on the phone.
7 days a week / 12 hours open is hard to beat! They have managed to fit me in on very short notice and they normally keep slots open for same-day emergencies. You may not get your "usual" vet, but you'll see someone at the clinic you trust.

I very much appreciate how I am always offered a range of care options as the clinic is mindful of pet parent budgets. Looking after a bunch of seniors means some are here for a good time, not a long time. There is never any pressure to take any extraordinary measures - unlike some other clinics I have been to in the past.

No clinic is perfect. There has been one "hiccup" across the years (during Covid) where something was missed and another visit was necessary 24 hours later - but we continue to travel over 45 minutes to this clinic because they're excellent.

Dr Janice is very professional and knowledgeable. Thank you for taking care my Cat Fanfan. I wish I can give 10 stars if I could.

I have given 4 stars because of the doctors and their staff, they are awesome! They treat my pet with a lot of care and attention which I love. I have reduced 1 star only for 2 reasons. 1.the price is a bit on the higher side as every time I visit them I am left with an invoice of at least 200$ for very basic things like an ear or paw infection check up. There should be a correction there as all pets deserve the highest care and many won’t be able to afford that kind of cost. 2. You always need to wait for the doctor for at least 20 minutes even if you get to the appointments on time. Please do space out the appointments to help the doctors get to their appointments on time.

I have been meaning to write this review for a while. Dr Janice Hung is a fantastic veterinarian. She was so knowledgeable and caring when my dog Bear came in for stomach problems. I am to report he is feeling much better. I would highly recommend her and the clinic!

The Doctor & Staff were very kind at this tough time while our family lost a wonderful friend; Felix, a family cat would rest in peace.

Dr Janice was by far the most compassionate and caring Veterinarian that I have EVER met. She saved my cat.
It was New Years eve and my cat wasn't doing so great. I was turned away from my regular vet and the emergency pet hospitals in the area were all full unwilling to take her in.
It was recommended that I contact Arnold Crescent through Cannon Hill Animal hospital because they were at full capacity that day as well,
Not only were they willing to take my cat in and be treated for here illness immediately but it was the care that they showed me for my best friend.

The best vet clinic! Very professional vets and friendly/helpful staff members. I tried switching to a couple of vet clinics in the past as I moved away from the neighbourhood but I always came back to Arnold Crescent Animal Hospital. I am never switching to another clinic because it is convenient. You want vets that are top-notch; truly care for your pets and compassionate. I have been taking my dogs to see Dr Dewey, Dr Tarable and lately Dr Hung for 29 years. Enough said.

Our dog has been with Arnold Crescent for more than 13 years. The stuff is always friendly and very helpful. We have seen Dr. Dewey and Dr. T and find both of them competent, trustworthy, and warm. We would recommend Arnold Crescent to other pet owners. - Joanne from Richmond Hill.

Most kind and dedicated people. There were lot of confusion for traveling with my dog due to COVID and the destination regulations, from doctors to office staff they were really kind and accommodating.

Dr. T and his team are a godsend, I'd give more than 5 stars if it was possible!

I came here thinking my cat (Cal) was needing to be put down after basically being told he would need expensive surgery or to be surrendered by another vet. Dr. T gave Cal an exam and was very confident that he could help him and that invasive surgery wouldn't be required.

I'll never forget what he said: "I'm not here to sell you anything or force you to get treatments, I'm here to advocate when I think I can help my patient (my cat). "

The whole Arnold Crescent team went above and beyond helping and healing Cal. I've never felt such care and concern from a vet clinic team before. From multiple check in calls to personally reaching out to see how my cat and myself were doing, I can't even begin to thank the whole team. Cal is now back to 100% and that's all thanks to Dr. T and his team!

I had to find a new vet for my dog because my old vet had shut down his practice and my dog was feeling suddenly sick. I am so happy that we found Dr. Janice Hung. She was exceptional, really good at explaining the situation and always giving us updates, transparent about pricing and super understanding. Wish we had found her sooner! Also the staff were all nice, we unfortunately had to put my dog to sleep and they mailed me a handwritten signed card. Very sweet.

We had a great experience with our cat. We got timely advice and all of our questions were answered.

We had been taking our precious cat Cheeto to Arnold Crescent for almost 13 years. And there we found the best of the best: from Rebecca and Jayne in reception to Becky the vet tech to the lovely and capable Dr. Johnson to Dr. Dewey who cared for our boy for all of those years. Thank you Dr. Dewey for all of your knowledge, expertise and empathy. We will never foget our Cheeto but will take comfort in knowing he was always in capable hands at Arnold Credcenr Animal Hospital.

To be completely transparent, switching vets during a pandemic when you are unable to meet in person and are limited in so many other ways probably did not serve them justice. However I had done extensive research since moving to Richmond Hill and had spoken to other dog owners and only heard great things about this "Dr. T". Yes, they are more expensive, but we were ready to get A+ service. We never got to meet Dr. T.though, and the vet we did meet was sweet and did her best so I have no qualms with her (will need to remember her name). What I am extremely unhappy with was the overall service from the rest of the practice. My fur-kid is one of the most kind-hearted dogs we've had the pleasure of existing with, but at this vet, I have heard her cry, and witnessed her leave with the "bat out of hell" pep to her step that had the staff struggling to trail behind as she exhausted herself pulling with all force on her way out of that place. Her nails were constantly trimmed as a "complimentary" service, but she was always bloody and clearly injured - and nobody ever said anything about it. We were only left to clean up the blood and hydrate the poor kid after her energy exertion post trauma. Because we've lived abroad, she has had to travel, and we have had to visit many vets, so we had really hoped to settle on a "home vet" who we can grow with.but after today's visit, we are on the hunt again. I have never heard my fur-kid cry like this from an anal gland "squeeze" and I refuse to take her there again.

Great experience overall! We recently had to put down our pet which was difficult however, the staff here made it less painful. Everyone is so friendly, compassionate and understanding. Didn't feel rushed at all. They provided us with several options all of which were thoroughly explained. Also, one of the fees were waived which was really nice of them to do. I can't tell you how lucky I feel to live close to such an amazing animal hospital. I recently got a kitten (who has unfortunately come with quite a few health issues) but I'm so glad I chose to come here for her very first vet visit. The staff is honestly the most caring and patient group of people, and genuinely all seem to love their patients. I originally brought my kitten to see Dr. Dewey (I saw that he was a fellow UBC grad and the clinic was super close by/building looked home-y so I got good vibes and thought ok why not!) and he turned out to be great, he was very informative when giving me a run-down of the check up and really took time to explain things to me. He genuinely seemed to be very knowledgable and caring!

Unfortunately, after a scary trip the emergency vet in the middle of the night, I called up Arnold Crescent the next morning and felt so much more comforted and cared for to have her information sent over from the emergency so that they could continue caring for her here. When the receptionist first picked up the phone I was overwhelmed from the night before and started blabbing but she simply asked "so what's going on with little JJ? ", instantly making me feel calm and cared for:)

I recently also had a chance to speak with Dr. Willow, who turned out to be just as amazing. She was so gentle and patient and went through everything step by step. Like literally, she listed out the fees one by one and how they would add up, and even told me which tests were more necessary (instead of just telling me i should get all the tests! Clearly its not about business).

It's really unfortunate that my kitten has needed to come to the vet so many times in such a short time and there's a lot of stress as a new pet parent but the staff here really make it soo much better:) thanks from me and jj bean! Highly recommend!

Nothing but wasted money and frustrations here.

"I spent and spent and spent and nothing ever got resolved. Every recommendation I got for this clinic was to see Dr. Dewey who has since sold the practice. It appears that this place has gone way downhill since Dr. Tarable took over. I now take my dog to Ripley's at Yonge/Elgin Mills where they are more trustworthy and priced much more reasonably. Think twice before you bring your pet here unless you want to get overcharged and not have any problems solved. "

And no, I do not want to have a conversation with you, Alison, as we resolved nothing when we did previously which is why I switched clinics and decided to share my experience. We just started coming here about 6 months ago after getting a puppy and found all the positive reviews to be accurate. Excellent vets, providing great care and treatments, and happy to take tons of questions at any time after/before your appts to ensure you are comfortable. I would highly recommend if looking for a vet

I have nothing but great things to say about Arnold Cres. Animal Hospital. Dr. Dabir is an extremely knowledgeable, caring and patient vet who always takes the time to answer my (many) questions and is great with our pup. The front desk staff and technicians are amazing too, always super helpful and go out of their way to make sure our pup is happy. Tracy the groomer also did a great job for our pups first session! We were concerned about our dog being scared of the vet, but Chester can't wait to see the team!

This clinic is so unique because it doesn’t matter which vet takes care of your pet you receive consistent great care. The reception is great and very knowledgeable, if they can’t answer a question they will have a tech or vet call you. We have taken our dog Rufus here for 10 years and have interacted with almost every vet. Dr T has hired some very talented vets and has 7 day coverage. Rufus runs into the clinic whether I am with him or not. Our latest experience with Dr Willow was fabulous, she took the time to explain and what’s more important LISTEN to my concerns. A follow up call to see if Rufus had recovered was a great touch. I would love to enter clinic with Rufus but understand and agree with policies that being said I have never hesitated in sending Rufus into clinic alone. He is with caring people. Thanks to Rebecca who always helps out with food orders, Jane for her advice and support and Alley and Dr T who have put together a great team. I apologize if I missed anyone. Whether Dr Mike, Dr T, Dr Willow or Dr Dewey your pet is in great hands.

Friendly and very professional staff and vet.doctors. I changed three vets before discovering this animal hospital. I have been very satisfied with this veterinary hospital. Dr. Dabir has done an excellent job diagnosing and treating our dog's recent health problems. Totally satisfied. I highly recommend their services.

My dog was in critical condition when I took her to this place. Dr. Dabir and Dr. Johnson did great job. They saved my dog's life. They're so experienced and knowledgeable vets and all the staff are so friendly and caring. I'm so happy that I found this animal hospital.

Receptionist has no time to listen to question and talks a mile a minute. The only vet I trust is Dr Dewey and he is semi retired. Once he's gone, so am I.

I've been bringing my pets to see Dr. T, Dr. Dewey and the staff at Arnold Crescent for over 20 years. I wouldn't trust another clinic with my pets' care.

My kitty just had his neutering done this past weekend. The staff at Arnold Crescent Animal Hospital are by far the most kind animal caretakers around! I had full trust that they would take good care of Oliver and give him just as must love as he receives at home! There's a reason I've been bringing my cats there since the 80's! Highly recommend!

We have been going to Dr T since 2003 when we got our first pet and have not had second thoughts about our decision to stay with Arnold Crescent over the years. The compassion, care, love and humanity shown to us and all our pets are immeasurable, especially when we had to put our Ritchie down a few years ago. Dr T takes the time and the patience to make one understand everything going on with their pet and is not one to suggest unnecessary procedures or medications. We truly appreciate the kindness and graciousness of all the staff as well. Keep up the good work Arnold Crescent.

I was recommended by a family member to come here when I first got my puppy and a year later I have had only positive experiences with all the veterinarians, technicians and receptionists here at ACAH. They are all extremely nice and understanding when it comes to patient care. Everyone is exceptionally patient when I asked all my questions at the clinic and over the phone. The technicians are super friendly when I asked questions over the phone even after the check up and was able to address my concerns. They take the time to explain to me why my dog was getting certain tests and I never felt like the veterinarians are here for money - they genuinely care about the animals care and owners' concerns and they only want whats best for their clients. I understand they are busy but I still feel like I get the undivided attention. Extremely grateful for everyone here at the clinic!

DR MIKE DABIR IS A GEM! He is absolutely amazing and such a caring vet I am so happy he joined your practice! Down to earth and so easy to talk to! Very knowledgeable and so helpful! I couldn't take my kitty to the vet today and he reassured me that the issue we are having is not an emergency (we had too many health issues with my kitty for the past month so we would come to Arnold almost every other week) and went out of his way to help us out. VET WITH A BIG HEART WOULD 1000000% RECOMMEND, he will treat you like a family. Amazing

Brought my new puppy here as I've heard nothing but great things about them. I was welcomed with great receptionists who guided me into the room with my pup. Dr. T.came in at the scheduled time, gave my dog a thorough check-up, spent the time to educate me and answered all my questions regarding the pup. I'll be bringing my dog here moving forward!

We’ve been clients here since 1993. Our dogs have received the most professional and considerate care from Dr. Dewey and Dr. Tarable over the years. The office staff and vet assistants have all been excellent as well. Our elderly dog just passed away recently. The compassion and support from everyone at Arnold Crescent Hospital helped our family through a difficult time. Thanks to everyone for an awesome relationship.

We have been going to ACAH for over 15 years. A few years ago we moved from Richmond Hill and made a number of changes. One change we could not make was to move to a new vet clinic. Doctors Dewey and Tarable and their entire staff had been so great with our dog Cindy and we had so much confidence in them that we gladly travelled the extra distance.
You expect excellent and up to date medical care but at Arnold Crescent you not only get that but it comes with a genuine caring manner. Everyone there seems to truly care about animals and puts their attention first.
We recently had to make the final decision with Cindy but Dr T's professionalism had giver her many quality years. It could not have been handled in a more caring loving way by people who treated her as their own.

Dr. Dewey and the staff at the hospital were so genuine and kind! After my first visit and after working with others in the veterinary industry, I can tell Dr Dewey is a very knowledge and cares about his patients. All the staff have excellent communication skills and made my new stray kitten feel very loved! The staff also provided excellent resources in a take home kit and of course made sure I had all the information and future appointment that will allow my kitty to thrive. Special shout out to Vaal a vet assistant/training vet tech who always demonstrates kindness and professionalism!

Dr Dewey and his lovely team have taken care of my puppies over 15 years.
He is always Kind, gentle and explains everything thoroughly.
He always listens to my imput and never encourages any unnecessary procedures.
He knows my latest dog Truffle is super sensitive.he literally gets on the floor with her to greet her each time. He staggers her vaccines as to limit reactions and if I say maybe let’s skip this one. He is always understanding about it.
He is calm and gentle and my dogs adore him.
Appointments are easy to make and I love this new open 7 days a week thing.
I have also seen Dr Tarable and he is just as fantastic. Recently made a trip for my puppy Newton who was seen by the new vet. He is also amazing, took his time, was gentle and took good care of Newton’s paw.
It is obvious that the doctors as well as all the assistants love animals. I feel so safe bringing my dogs there. I know they will be well cared for.

After 13 years of going to arnold crescent animal hospital the extremely rude lady at reception (Rebecca) has finally driven me away. Dealing with Rebecca has been one of the greatest displeasures and unfortunately I have switched vets and transferred my dog's (Lucky) files. I have also recommended multiple friends/family to arnold crescent (most recently belfee and zeke) and I will definitely share my negative experiences with them as well.

All of my pets have been cared for by Arnold Crescent and Dr. Dewey, dating back to the 80's. Even after I moved from the neighbourhood, I continued making the trip to Richmond Hill. I have referred many other pet people over the years, including my sister and daughter. My 4.8 pound fur-baby is 15+ years old, and I know he's in the most capable, compassionate hands when he visits Arnold Crescent.

Very friendly staff. Also very gentle with our 3 kitties and our pug. Dr. T is the best vet we've ever had. Prices are good for Canada and he always treats us fairly and honestly. 1 of our kitties is disabled and he is great with her. We couldn't be happier with a vet or an office. All are very thorough and caring.

My Dog got hit by a car, she is ok. Brought her in right away this Monday night Dr Tarable took control and saw to Bailey with no hesitation. Thank you Dr Tarable and staff for taking great care of my dog in this stressful situation to make sure she was ok. Glad you are her doctor.
