Aroma Espresso Bar

I had a long train ride to work and ran in to use the washroom quickly (I have used it a couple times before with no issue and didn’t want to use the TTC washroom because it’s usually dirty and I was in my uniform) …today I was told I had to buy something to use it. They ended up letting me use it but said the rule is only paying customers…I told them I’ve used it before without any issues and they said the owner is enforcing customer only washrooms…it’s not their fault and it felt like they were uncomfortable telling me this…I used to come here quite a bit but won’t be anymore…it puts a sour taste in my mouth because the only reason to enforce that rule is to keep marginalized communities out (the homeless) …who also still need to use the washroom. Shame on the owner.

Very busy location, but it has slowed down since before COVID when you could never find a seat. Someday it'll be a great location again if they ever finish construction of the new subway line. I do enjoy breakfast and coffee here.

I ordered a Ice Aroma and an almond croissant. I waited for over 15mins for my drink, they didn’t send my order to the kitchen, that’s why. And the lady who give me my drink have a really bad attitude, she literally just give me “the look” and smash the chocolate on the counter. I didn’t even say anything even I have to waited that long for my drink. I don’t get it, why I have to receive that negative attitude from her? This is ridiculous.

I'm an early riser and was looking to have a different coffee before 8am Why not Aroma? The customer service was poor. The workers were inattentive of me for at least 5 minutes while people were waiting to be served. It was one of the few times I didn't leave a tip, or strongly wanting to tell them to be attentive. It made it worse when the worker didn't hand the drinks to the customer directly opting to put the drinks on the counter away from them. Poor customer service.

Ordered a turkey BLT on Uber eats. One of the worst most disappointing sandwiches i've ever ordered. The person putting it together clearly couldn't care less. First time ordering from Aroma and also my last

I've been to this place a lot but I tried their cappuccino for the first time today and as a coffee lover I can say that it was the best coppuccino I've ever had in my life.

For the attitude received by this cafe’s owner, I will never visit here anymore. Hope other people will see who she is and how she treated people and customers badly.

I had same experience with others. Owner aggressively tried to get my friend and I to leave the outdoor patio because my friend was eating a ice cream from another restaurant and I hadn't yet decided on what to order from Aroma. She kicked us out immediately and she called security on us even after we advised her that we would leave as soon as my friend finished eating. Her attitude is obnoxious and disrespectful. She did not have any standards for customer service.

Other reviewer filed a complaint to better business beurau of canada. Other customer stated that Owner is very disrespectful. She shouldn’t be in the customer service business with the way she speaks to people.

But to be honest, why don’t you learn to respect people first. Can’t be a good person, how could you have a good business.

This morning I went there to have a coffee and a bite to eat before heading to work (place was not busy except for one person behind me) I was decided what I wanted to get and the sever immediately ask me if she could serve the person behind. Mind you I already had order the coffee was just deciding on the croissant.
I left (sorry I was taking an extra second to decide between croissants).
Will never go back

Love the outdoor patio! Great cafe style food and drink, paired with a nice summer day is a great day. There is a bit of construction noise depending on the day, but that's not aromas fault

Absolutely love this place! They helped me out in a pickle! I needed catering for a last minute corporate meeting and even after they were closed the night before, corresponded with me and gave me peace of mind while order a large last minute order.

I am super thankful to these manager and staff for making this happen. Highly recommend. Greta customer service!

Aroma is opened a little later than other cafes, so its always a good safe option. Coffee is good. I had an alfajore, which I didn't like cause it was way too sweet. But, they have tons of other options. Inside seating is great. Outside seating okay, is just the sheer amount of people at that corner, sometimes get smell of cigarettes or weed.

Have had lunch here multiple times, they have a great selection of healthy salads and sandwiches, I never get bored eating here. Grilled halloumi & sweet potato salad is my favourite. Nice patio to sit in the sun, although the construction in the whole area is a pain. Very efficient service, I like how they call your name on a microphone to get your food, so you can wait out on the patio!

Been a customer of this location for well over 2 years, ordered the same stuff.was disappointed to see how poorly behaved the workers can be after popping back in. I asked if I could kindly have honey in my drink (matcha), since I don't use the sugar or sweetener that they sometimes use with the water / paste.and they said its at the bar and I can do it myself. I politely explained the reasoning and the two girls (one of them the supervisor, which is interesting as a 'leader') then decided to giggle and laugh about it front of me. I don't see the difference if someone got a latte and wanted vanilla syrup in it etc.they then forgot to make another drink I ordered and said in order to get the drink I have to pay for it, which I did. It's strange how they prioritize gossip and want to act rude but not fulfil orders.it's childish.they didn't care to apologize either.

Just popped in quickly for a baked good and coffee to go.

I enjoyed my medium coffee and pistachio carrot cake.

Spent $14.00 including taxes and a tip on a personal size turkey BLT.and received two huge pieces of bread one slice of turkey one slice of bacon cut in half one tomato one leaf of lettuce and a dopple of mayo. The worst $14 I ever spent I personally do not recommend you eat you here and waste your money the portions for price are astronomically different from what you expect.

Great place for a quick coffee, oatmeal raisin cookies and chats during restful times especially on the Kiwi one strap shoulder pouch

It was similar to Starbucks but really slow service the day we visited. My Lemon Mint drink quenched my thirst but not really outstanding.

Owner aggressively tried to get my friend and I to leave the outdoor patio that is located in a public Square because my friend was eating a pizza from another restaurant and I hadn't yet decided on what to order from Aroma. She called security on us even after we advised her that we would leave as soon as my friend finished eating. She proceeded to harass us by invading our personal space, banging on the table stating the Property belonged to her. Security even tried to rationalize with her stating we agreed to leave but she continued to verbally harass us and refused to get out of our personal space. She then threatened to call the police and told us to never come back. The patio has always been used by the public, including myself, to lounge, drink and eat from Aroma and other places. It was a very traumatizing experience and could have been avoided entirely if we were treated with respect.

A complaint was made to the Better Business Bureau of Canada.

Be warned of an older white lady surveilling the patio and kicking people out. I witnessed her doing it to another lady as well.

If it happens to you, please complain to the the BBB as well.

Good coffee and hot chocolate. There are some other choices in the neighborhood, but you should give this one a try. You might find that it becomes your new place or at least a good alternative.
Lots of construction in the area. You might want to get off the street and escape the noise.

They had very good food and coffee! The prices are a bit steep, but once in awhile it's a wonderful place to go for coffee or tea. The pastries are scrumptious!

Good location but way overpriced. Order an iced coffee and half a sandwich and it was $14. Ridiculous
